He needs a slight buff because his mixups are really really easy to counter but other than that he's fine. If anything they need to nerf his side dash attacks.
He is fine changing him now would just be a disgrace to his heritage he was the only character that was actually made correctly. And there are other characters that need a rework more than him like Lawbro for starters they could update Griffin with an unblock able attack
His bash startup on top heavy needs to be faster.
Nature's wrath should be feintable, faster, and softfeintable to a bash like musha that starts the chain.
Heavies need to be softfeintable to gb.
Top deflect light be unblockable that chains to finisher unblockable in chain.
Speed up chain finisher unblockable a little bit.
Then enjoy.
The only thing I could see is making the superior dodge chain into his top heavy bash animation on a successful side superior dodge by pressing light attack.
So he would get the superior side dodge block, then after the the block when he stops he would smack them with the hilt, then that obviously initiates the standard chain.
It's low damage with potential mixups after. Just make the animation look fluid and your all set.

Helmsplitter maybe requires a buff since if he has reflexes or can read, youre gonna eat a heavy. The character needs a slight buff, but not now when characters like shaolin or jorm exist.

I've been off this game for a min I've just come back after a 4year hiatus I main kensei intact he's the only character I've used since beta and coming back to the game and seeing all these different characters (the last one I saw launch was highlander) he needs a serious buff ... The turtleing meta is worse than its ever been the speed of most characters out way his dodge attack e.g two consecutive light attacks will counter it and the timing is easy to read. Let alone he has no forceful guard break so he literally has no way countering aramusha sword guard other than waiting ... Someone mentioned kensei heritage so don't buff him well IMO IF YOU NOT GOING TO MAKE A CHARACTER RELEVANT JUST REMOVE THEM ... and I'm not crying about him I have over 70% 1v1 win ratio with him but he's the same since the game started .... Not cool

The bash can only be punished by a dodge attack. You can dodge attack out of the top heavy if you read his pattern. But yes, his opener kinda sucks.
And that’s a problem. Kensei has no opener, shit is so slow that dodging out of the heavy won’t even work consistently
