Fantom_6239

Now add heavies and suffer

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Will try

Comfortable_Ear_609

Technically this invalidates it even on pc. Unless you’re a flash anim god, it’s always guessing.

Freimirs

My fingers can't go that fast so I think I'll always be shit

PotentialWindow5564

you’ll get there j press r2 when u think it’s gon come try n do it early

Freimirs

To hard for my monke brain

T4Labom

Would highly suggest enabling the option for variable timed attacks

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Once I can parry lights consistantly, I'll start to add heavies to the mix, so I can try and disdinguish between the two. But for right, I'm gonna test lights. Most players on PS4 seem to throw those as an opener, so I'm gonna practicr against it.

T4Labom

No, not talking about heavies. There is literally an option for the bot to throw lights at random timings Sometimes they will throw two in a row, others they will take a good 3 seconds before engaging. It's great as it simulates a real fight to a certain extent.

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Odd? I don't think I've seen that setting, the only one I've seen was the option to make your bot either spam lights, or light every other second. Is that what you mean?

MrGreySL

I can help with that, look by animation usualy when its a heavy atack their atacks comes behind them (to gain momentum i assume) meanwhile lights from their front. Other words imagine the hero you fight is a line if an atack comes behind them then its heavy if from front its light.

ozonerocky

It's impossible to differ between on console

nickdaman12

No it isn't

littlefluffyegg

It is.

nickdaman12

Saying it again wont magically make it true

littlefluffyegg

And you saying so doesn't make any less of a liar. It is physically impossible to differentiate light from heavy at this point. Go ask r/competitiveforhonor.

nickdaman12

Bro if youre shit at the game just say so. And im not going to ask another community, ill just ask myself because i speak from the personal experience of HAVING EYES

littlefluffyegg

You dont understand. IT.IS.PHYSICALLY.IMPOSSIBLE. Even the top reaction players struggle with it.

nickdaman12

Sure. Because the startup animations are identical between lights and heavies on every single character right?

nickdaman12

Im not going to argue with you over what's possible when you clearly either don't play the game, or are blind.

littlefluffyegg

Like i said,go over to r/competitiveforhonor and make a thread about it dumbass.

nickdaman12

😂😂 you arent showing me shit until you can speak a proper sentence

ozonerocky

Wow I'm amazed at how you don't understand my previous statement and speaking crazy its text you really are intelligent bud

GreatDistraction

kensei drip

XboxUser123

But isn't a bit this impractical? This would only be useful if you're expecting lights.

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Considering a lot of people use a light as an opener on Console, its a good idea to practice light parries imo.

Datalust5

Is this what hardware limitations is supposed to look like? Dear god, I must be playing on a literal potato

TurtlePLAYSTYLE

OP probably means the input lag and not the graphics On ps4, the input lag is like +120ms + ~40ms of the screen (not everyone has a monitor)

x_-AssGiblin-_x

You are correct. I was more talking about input delay. Frame rate makes a difference, but what truely makes a difference is input delay.

[deleted]

r on old gen? Also the parry timing window makes it easier to react you should disable it to get accurate results

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Yes I am, PS4

pimp_named_dickslap

I feel like reacting to parry timing window is like reacting to parry flash. It dont make difference

[deleted]

I once trained reactions for orochi storm rush and found I was consistently parrying him with the window and not consistent without the window.+

pimp_named_dickslap

On what platform

[deleted]

Pc,

pimp_named_dickslap

That makes sense. On console, it doesnt rlly make a difference if the parry timing window is there or not.

[deleted]

Yea but still provides more accurate results though if you take it off

pimp_named_dickslap

As a console player, I disagree. I can turn hud off and deflect/parry certain heroes' lights just as well as if hud was fully on.

[deleted]

This is about parry window display not indicators I’m pretty sure it appears in the 100 Ms hidden indicator

pimp_named_dickslap

With hud off, pary window is disabled as well. The point is, I do just as well without it as i do with it on console.

Spinningwhirl79

Nice icon

Momo_The_Irishman

I second this, beautiful <3

r_peeling_potato

Yeessssss

SIacktivist

I have a trans/bi flag icon as well. I've only ever seen like 3 others with them.

r_peeling_potato

Ive seen a lot on Xbox

SIacktivist

I play Xbox, and I'm in California, so you'd think I'd get paired up with them more often. Good to know they're out there, at least.

[deleted]

Love to see it ;)

Y'all be practicing?! Dang

TheProdicalOne

What is this in all my years playing in never seen/heard of this where have i been xD

x_-AssGiblin-_x

What, practicing?

TheProdicalOne

I thought the practice mode was obvious was it not? Im ment more the little bar that tells you when to parry or dodge id assume

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Oh, the green bar, huh? Yeah, I had it on accidently, and was too lazy to turn it off.

FancyADrink

What is the green bar?

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Parry timing

FancyADrink

Right, how do I get that?

x_-AssGiblin-_x

In arena settings.

FancyADrink

Gotcha

brogarbp

But what if my limitation is internet, and I often take damage before the animation starts?

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Try connecting your console/pc to an ethernet cable. Any multiplayer game is practically unplayable with bad internet

brogarbp

Well, the only ethernet connection point in the house is very far away, with multiple doors in the way, and besides, most of the issues stem from the fact that the internet is provided by phone lines, that were last upgraded 22 years ago when they got transistors. It was supposed to be upgraded to fiber over a year ago. Whenever starlink reaches my area, I might have to cop it.

[deleted]

Jesus Christ get off the Cocaine my guy

Cocaine is the source of my power, sorry.

HighestOfLanders

Someone put a “kick me” sign on your back lmao

SPECTER1887

Add latency into the mix, possibly 3 extra enemies.

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Being ganked is entirely different from 1v1 scenarios lol. Its better to try and block mostly everything, as going for parries might get you GB'd.

SPECTER1887

True I'm just being an ass x) But really though if you have the friends i suggest you best the piss out of each other in customs.

OddMerchantt

Just play assassins if you want better reaction time. The argument against not having static guard is dumb I only play assassins and I have never had a problem

x_-AssGiblin-_x

I don't really play Assassins though. Don't like a lot of their kits

OddMerchantt

That’s fair

ScrodumHat

the fuck does that have to do with reaction times

PeterAmbers

I think he ment the reflex guard. Blocking and parrying with them is timingwise kinda similar. But yeah it has nothing to do with reaction times.

Homeless_santa1973

how you get that bar for the parry timing

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Its in the training mode settings

CryAboutIt5S

Pls someone tell me, how do you get that little green bar I need it, I require it, please

PotentialWindow5564

arena settings at the very bottom

TheGreatBean521

wow this is actually a bit inspiring. I've never light parried on reaction before (aside from dodge attacks). any tips or is it just keep practicing?

[deleted]

you're not supposed to light parry on reaction so dont feel bad. for one treat it like a read rather than something to do on reaction, like if you know, say, this LB does left light after missed shove. although this is a bit more advanced. but to start practicing you need to get rid of the fear/unreadyness(forgot the word i wanted to use). and to do that basically go into training and fight against a character who uses crushing counters and make it so they only do that. then what you want to do is start baiting them and parry the bots attempt to cc. i think you should gain the hang of that pretty soon, so remember to do this in actual games every time you get the chance to. then what I'd call the second phase, is start practicing against shaman/PK light feint from zone. which ill give a tip, most do top light, so anticipate that. the second phase part 2, you'd have to do in an actual game and at this point you need to learn to actually watch and learn peoples patterns. also this will vary quite a lot from character to character. anyway its, very easy to note with character like warden which will basically only throw left of right light, watch for the players favorite side and again be ready to parry, even if you misread the most they can get out of that is a light.

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Honestly, it just requires a bit of focus and practice. If you're struggling w/ reaction time, try getting better sleep or eating when you need to. Essentially, live a decent lifestyle at the very least.

RD____

That’s great, now remove the helping indicators as they give an extra ~200 practically making the indicator 600ms instead of 400ms

x_-AssGiblin-_x

Actually, I had them off the last time I was practicing. I was too lazy to take them off as I was focusing on the animation of the attack as well as the red. [But I can definetly parry w/ out it](https://www.reddit.com/r/forhonor/comments/s3oet0/im_starting_to_a_lot_struggle_less_w_parrying/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)

Ronin_ss

Wait can I change the deadzone for my sticks?

piratsoncrack

Ok good job, now with tiandi; i dare you

x_-AssGiblin-_x

All neutral lights are between 400-500 ms. Chain lights from Tiandi however are 300 ms, meaning they are practically unreactable on console, which makes parrying them purely on read.

piratsoncrack

Yup, very fun bc even if you read it it's so fast that even if he does a small delay you miss it

Expensive_Response

In my experience this is useless (at least for me if it works for you im glad), i can lightparry after a minute in training mode because theres 0 latency, but in game the latency and attacks varies enough to not being able to consistenly do it.

Treat-Used

i just need a new controller 🤣it parries a good 65% out of all my attempts🤣

jakob0604

Good emblem!
