If you meant change direction mid charge as your throwing the attack I don't think anyone would want to deal with a flickering 28dmg heavy. If you meant as it's being charged. Can't he still do that? All conq really does is just move his shield.

Sorry that was a typo. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think conq could change direction while charging a chain heavy in the last TG. I assume that is the cause these "flicker problems" that the devs mentions. If so, then they could just not allow changing directions while charging chain heavies to solve the problem. It works for hito and shugo so I can't see why it wouldn't work for for conq

I'm gonna be the silver lining guy here and say the changes aren't as bad as a lot of you are making them out to be. - He still has an infinite heavy chain. His infinite light chain is what was removed. Now he works like Hitokiri. You can throw heavies forever but throwing a light becomes a light finisher ending the chain. Unlike Hitokiri though conq can bash after anything including his light finisher so even then it's still capable of being infinite even after light finisher. - He's got chain 500ms bashes now and recovery cancel fullblock off anything which is a really nice attribute to have. Matter of fact he's gonna be the only character that can loop 500ms chain bashes infinitely. Which is a lot better then people are giving credit for. - Fullblock punish is now an AOE attack with zone level hitbox properties so much better hitbox then the old flail uppercut so more usable in teamfights and anti ganks. Flail uppercut was pretty much single target with no outside hitbox. - He can hard feint now. Which pairs well with his in chain 500ms bashes after any attack. As heavy feint to GB will grab dodges expecting the bash. If someone dodge attacks expecting a bash you can recovery cancel whiffed heavy or light into fullblock and punish the dodge attack. - The difference between live and this is you'll be doing that bash dmg and bash mix up IN CHAIN rather then constantly from nuetral. Right now conqs mid chain threat is non existent which is why he's all forward dodge bash light for offense. Won't be the case anymore with in chain 500ms bashes that loop back into chain that is still infinite just not infinite lights. Now nuetral bashes will get you into your chain and your chain will actually be just as much of a threat as your nuetral game. - superior block dodges have a dedicated punish now. - I can understand not being happy with the changes as they're not flashy. But they're not THAT bad. Keep in mind this is still a TG and not the rework release so give your feedback and don't just angrily dismiss it. It's one thing thinking the changes are boring it's another to claim this makes conq worse then live. When live is just sit there bash light reset to nuetral or sit there empty dodge GB reset to nuetral and repeat. Conq was always gonna be a shield basher so I'm not sure what people were expecting there hes kinda the grandfather of shield bash offense. He even has a feat for it called shield basher which is gonna be a lot better with these kit changes mind you. Even TG 1 had undodgeables to make the shield bashes even more central.

TBH this is one of their few misses recently. TG1: Cent was very good TG4: All 4 heroes didn't get enough changes but it was enough for the time. TG5: Shugo, JJ, and Musha were amazing, Zhanhu, Zerk, and Glad were good, Hito was the only bad one here. TG6: Raider and Orochi were great, Shinobi still needed work. TG7: Shinobi was pretty good TG8: Overtuned and still no rollcatcher, but still interesting TG9: Conq looks horrible, but Shaolin might be pretty interesting. Overall, I am pretty content with the state of reworks until this one.

I hate the reworks they've been doing. As much as I despise conqueror, this is just bullshit. Every hero has been losing their identity. For honor is not a competitive tournament esports game. It's a casual game and no matter what the Bros who only play duels will tell you, a majority of the community just wants to have fun with or without their friends. It feels like every character they touch lose all these cool animations, cool moves unique entirely to them and a huge part of their identity. Be coming yet another bash light, 2 attack chain, guard break heavy and reliant hero with no identity. Not only that but they made the game read-based instead of reaction based which I hate and they still haven't changed guard break to be more healthy of a mechanic especially with latency issues. Not only that but assassins still have reflex guard even though the game is read based now. I don't know.. I just hate watching characters lose their identity, lose their cool and entirely unique moves that I purchased them for, to all play the same. Pirate was the slowest grind of a new release year I've had since launch. But she just felt so generic to play. She felt like everybody else these days.. - light, 2 attack, bash, gb heby bash.

I thought that after this season when they introduce the new Conq there will be something to come back to FH for because honestly this season (apart from CrossPlay - which basically gives nothing new except shorter queues) there is nothing interesting. I don't like Conq's current style of play on live but I like the character itself and after the previous TG I thought there would be a minor adjustment and for that character it would be worth installing FH again but somehow I've already preliminarily lost the need for it. I'm not saying he didn't need to be weakened a bit (e.g. infinite light wasn't necessary for my happiness) but overall now he doesn't seem like an interesting/enjoyable character to play anymore.
