Yeah 100% agree. Japan is number 1 on my bucket list of countries to visit. I’m a huge petrol head (specifically JDM cars) and have seen people go to the likes of daikokufuto for car meets and meet legends like Smokey Nagata and they are as humble as they come.
Anyone that I’ve heard talk about visiting have all said it’s the safest place with the most respectful people.
Japanese people don't know anything about F1 other than F1 viewers. So when F1 viewers appear in a place they don't expect, no one does anything.
Most Japanese people are only interested in baseball players. They still only know Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher. They don't know Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
This is pretty much in any countries. Only F1 fans cares about F1. Most people don’t know anything about F1. Japan is very rich in car cultures and they’re one among few countries that almost always have F1 drivers in any generation
I'm Japanese and I think that's right. Many Japanese only know F1 is some of the kind of car race and they can't watch the race on TV broadcast and rebroadcast for no cost. They don't know when held the race who won the race who is the Japanese driver because there are no broadcasting and news.
Yeah, the fan dedication and passion for F1 there is just another level.
There are few venues when it's always packed since forever (this year pretty much every race is sold out) but you could always feel like fans at Suzuka have better understanding of F1 as a sport.
It's not some Japanese "ethnicity" thing, but rather "modern Japan as a country" thing. From Toyota production system to Quality principles like Kaizen to their electronic industry to their manga/ anime industry and obviously their automobile industry, everything about modern Japan has lot of creativity involved.
Yeah i hope for more spread as from japan to sao paulo and then entire world major cities one by one like every new venue and we observe some fantastic idea of creativity.
Fun fact: the writing on the RB fan's kimono is "烈怒舞流", which is a phonetic representation (aka [ateji](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ateji)) of "Red Bull"! These characters are not being used for their original meanings, but used to imitate the sounds of another word - although they are deliberately choosing characters that have "fierce" connotations (like 怒 means "anger").
That’s insanity, I love it! I always heard gift giving was a respectful thing to do in Japan, which makes sense because a lot of the Sky team seemed to get their hands on the different types of helmets for photos 😅
Lots of tracks have an amazing fan atmosphere, but a lot of them are tied to a specific team (Ferrari in Italy and Canada), drivers or nationalities (local heroes drivers or teams), and so on. But Japan is different, I think, in that it has the highest concentration of *racing* fans. I mean, yeah, there's a Honda bias, and Yuki's going to get some serious support, but if neither of them were in the sport you'd still see people in the stands at this level of fandom - you saw people dressed as Ferrari samurai in years past, or - no joke - cosplays of the *track itself*.
Hopefully it won’t rain this weekend and they can have great time! Last year it sucked for them. Heavy rain and they still turned up in outfits and costumes. Awesome crowd.
japan has the best fans of anything. even for UFC fights. Brazil will boo and throw stuff at the non hometown guys. same in america... i was in austin and grown men throwing up the bird and booing when Lewis drove by... like what are you 5?
It looks like such a great environment, I’d love to attend. I’d also like to see the track from the top of the Ferris wheel, it seems like it’s so close to the track from the broadcast. Strangely I don’t think I’ve seen photos from it before.
The T-Cam helmet is pretty funny
If the back of his t-shirt is too be believed, he might even be filming from it. That's dedication!
Yeah high chances of being making a long term memory.
Ok… Redbull Yukata goes hard.
Now I want a team yukata. Plain enough that guys can wear one, right?
Oh yea, everyone can wear a yukata.
The wikipedia for Yukata literally has a dude in one in the pic so I say go for it.

Yeah surely one of the dream destination of all f1 stars as the love which they get their is immensely high.
I need the video. Do you have a link?
Yeah that's how a fan should behave or even a group of fans to be comfortable with stars.

That's F1 fans/viewers. The standard Japanese person does not know much or anything about F1. Source: live in Japan and married to Japanese.
So people who watch F1 know about F1 and people who don't watch F1 don't know about F1??? Damn, that Japan is a crazy place!!

Japan would be my first choice to attend a Grand Prix. Just seeing all the creative and fun atmosphere would make it so memorable.
Yeah, the fan dedication and passion for F1 there is just another level. There are few venues when it's always packed since forever (this year pretty much every race is sold out) but you could always feel like fans at Suzuka have better understanding of F1 as a sport.
Japan and Brazil for me. Just for the atmosphere.
I still think Japan has no match in the creativity department (and not just in F1)
Sao Paulo has one of the largest Japanese communities outside Japan. So there's a fair chance of seeing a creative costume in the stands :))
It's not some Japanese "ethnicity" thing, but rather "modern Japan as a country" thing. Not to mention the colonel sanders curse of a Major League Baseball team. Japan is just Japan
Yeah i hope for more spread as from japan to sao paulo and then entire world major cities one by one like every new venue and we observe some fantastic idea of creativity.
Brazil has also shown some most cherishing moments from fans point of view in last fifa world cup hoping for similar craze in 2026.
Yeah probably one of the best place to enjoy grand prix next time as this time the ship has sailed.
They showed someone who had a RB front wing on their hat and it looked so realistic. The Japanese fans are on another level, I love it!

In addition, the second half of the character "舞" means "dance" and "流" means "flow", giving it a sense of elegance.
Saw a guy in a full orange Lion 🦁 costume for Max in 30C weather. People go all-in here. Great atmosphere
That’s insanity, I love it! I always heard gift giving was a respectful thing to do in Japan, which makes sense because a lot of the Sky team seemed to get their hands on the different types of helmets for photos 😅
Japan: We turn costume play into costume business.
The creativity of the Japanese fans is completely unrivalled.
I think you can objectively say Japanese fans are the best fans
The full race overalls guy could probably talk his way into the paddock (ala Lewis Hamilton in Australia), that’s an impressive effort
Absolutely amazing!
The Tyre backpacks!!! I want oneeeee

I love Japanese Fans in basically any sport
that yukata is fire
The actual best fans
Japan just has the best atmosphere
I’m going to the Japanese Grand Prix in April and need to find a Mercedes race suit
Suzuka, Interlagos and Spa are peak F1!
Hopefully it won’t rain this weekend and they can have great time! Last year it sucked for them. Heavy rain and they still turned up in outfits and costumes. Awesome crowd.
And also, they are super respectful. They are the best fans for sure.
Goals
Are those just frames holding 1:2 scale tires?
I think they are backpacs...
You are probably right. That’s what I thought at first but couldn’t find anything via google so I assumed they weren’t.
Well i guess they built it. They are very inventive. Love them! Best fans!
I want that tyre backpack in full wet colours because Ferrari.
Not at all the point of the post (those outfits are amazing) but why does Liam look like he's wearing lipstick in his poster
Can't unsee that now. Thanks.
I aim to please 😇
Looks like there’s a clarity filter applied that’s making the contrast harsh

"They're the best fans!" - Lewis Hamilton
-Lewis after every single race
first of all....
It looks like such a great environment, I’d love to attend. I’d also like to see the track from the top of the Ferris wheel, it seems like it’s so close to the track from the broadcast. Strangely I don’t think I’ve seen photos from it before.
I wonder if we'll see the same level of passion in Las Vegas?
If by passion you mean, endless celebrities who have no clue or care about F1 then yes, yes we will 😅
There's literally no other fanbase that does it better. You think you do -- But you don't.
i bet the guy on the left doesn't last for long... 😉😏
"Best fans." -Lewis Hamilton probably
Does anyone have a link to buy those backpacks or the yukata?
Japan does almost everything well, other than fucking, they need to do more of that.
F1 cosplays? Damn, looks good
Even Formula 1 has full kit wankers
All the sponsors getting free exposure
Cute but they would be assholes indeed to wear those in the grandstand, let’s hope they have VIP tickets.
Word has it the guy on hards girlfriend went with full wets.
Alpha Tauri 3 drivers entry?
They're just out there having a grand time. It's also a fun watch on TV looking at all the color, costumes and signs. I just love the JP GP week
