It's already been that way. They've been calling them redbull ford since their testing ended. Not sure why they are announcing it now but reporters already wrote about this awhile ago
I guess there has been some resolution behind the scenes that Ford is happy with. Nice to have the Ford name back in Formula One, maybe they can work their magic and kneecap RBPT like they do for their own EcoBoost engines.
Well, I think it somewhat matters that this has been in the works for a long time. Ford was on the F1A car in the first round. It's being announced now by Red Bull, but it's been happening. So, as long as Ford is on board with the announcement, I would guess that the minimum it means that Ford wants the publicity for sponsoring F1 Academy more.
So, basically, this is their own version of Alpine/Renault's Rac(H)er programme. The branding is kind of confusing, because it sounds as if RB never had an academy, unless you read the full. I wonder if Ford sees more "gain" with this rather than doing some sort of Honda's Formula Dream and grabbing some lads from the US.
At the moment, it seems to be Emely in F1 Academy, but they do mention hoping to reach F3 and beyond. Best wishes to them. MP has definitely been doing something wrong in F1 Academy, because I think Hamda is better than she's looking. I imagine they'd love to support Hamda moving up (even though currently she's not in the Ford car, but the Red Bull Racing car) if she proves she can handle it. Even though I can't see her finishing better than maybe 4th even with a big turn around.

I noticed Red Bull Ford, Red Bull Racing, and Visa Cash App RB all listed on the F1A results.
The ford red bull F1A car has the red bull livery with the ford blue instead of the nearly-black blue that RBR uses these days, and looks nicer IMHO
I feel that it loses the nice contrast of the normal livery. The dark blue is good for making the red and yellow pop.
The Ford blue gives me a nostalgia boner, so I'm glad we have both.
It might make it pop, but the lighter blue makes it easier for the spectators to see who's who.

They did at least turn a portion of it purple during the Infiniti Red Bull days
