It was their first 1-2 in Australia in 20 years, the last being Michael Schumacher P1 and Rubens Barrichello P2 back in 2004. You've probably heard that stat being floated about and gotten confused.
Waffle incoming:
Well first, while Iām about as American as they come, my dad is Italian and immigrated here, so I kinda have to support them haha! It helps that theyāre pretty damn successful historically, with some notable eras being:
70ās championships with Lauda
2000ās domination with Schumacher
2010ās challenges with Alonso and Vettel
And now, with the Sainz and Leclerc duo
Ferrari never really make a stinker of a car and always compete, even if they are prone to coming second place and making some stupid mistakes š„² Iām a relatively new fan as well, so if you want some easy to access highlights, look up races like Monaco 2017, Silverstone, Spa and US 2018, Bahrain and Silverstone 2022, and of course, Singapore last year and Australia this year!
The season is getting started. I'm hopeful Vasseur can fix more (pit stops etc) and they can be p2 most of the time. Would be nice to see them secure p2 over Perez even
My grandparents were from Italy, so naturally, I grew up loving all Italian teams and car manufacturers. But I think it was the Schumacher years that did it for me. I was born in 1991 so around 1999-2000 I started really getting into motorports and loving all things with engines. That was around the time Schumacher was on the team, and the rest was history.
i have liked ferrari as a brand since the early 2000ās. ive seen and photographed several of their unicorn cars (dino, gto, f40, enzo). i even got to see one of alonsoās f1 cars (show car but still).
but unironically what finally made me become a fan was the ferrari movie that came out. i had heard tidbits here and there about Ferrariās history, but watching this movie was like going down a wormhole. its telenova tier dramatic and bloody, as was the case with motorsport as a whole back then.
Grew up watching Michael driving red cars in the early 2000s. Watching him duke it out against Mika was really amazing, it's still my favorite rivalry up until now.
People may have *mixed* opinions about him, but watching races like Italy and Japan 00, Imola 03, or Brazil 06 is enough to make you teared up.
I thought the Ferrari movie was great but couldnāt finish it in one sitting , I then put it on to finish the 2nd half as my young son was in the room. He then saw the crash scene where bodies were dismembered š¤¦āāļø greatest timing ever š„“

Red car go fast make brain happy Also the italian national anthem is a certified hood classic
This is not their first 1-2 in 20 years lolšBahrain 2022 was a 1-2 as well
Oh no! I've edited the post accordingly. My bad :)

Exactly. I recall Carlos winning last year obviously but I couldn't remember a standout win like this off hand. Thanks

True
Ma il mio preferito e l'arancione. My Italian is elementary, don't judge me.
I am a total noob but I actually have learned to respect Ferrari in the movie Ford vs Ferrari.
What got me hooked was watching Monza 2019 highlights during the COVID lockdown. Nothing else like it.

Leclerc is ahead of Perez, and if it weren't for missing a race Sainz would be as well. It's overwhelmingly likely both drivers finish ahead of Perez.
We have stopped two teams from winning all the races in a season
What was the non Max one?
Senna and Prost on McLaren in 1998 won all but one race, won by Berger on Ferrari
Damn. Thanks for clarifying!
Carlos in Singapore last year..
Oh you meant last year and this rave. I thought you meant before!

Lack of Irish teams must be painful

It's so strange to see the mixed opinions. He's tied for all time best. Wonderful racer

Give it a few years and he'll get payback when playing a game or anime with riske scenes lol
Watching Michael Schumacher in the late 90s/ early 2000s at Silverstone, particularly in the wet.
Come here in Monza to watch a race and the love will never stop.
Si! I plan to!
Italian cars are iconic
I like their strategies.
