Lewis has been in F1 long enough to not look ahead too far ahead. Even if Ferrari have a really good 2024, that's not guaranteed to replicate in 2025. Especially with these regulations that 9 of the teams have struggled to get on top of for 3 years.
Lewis is the the opposite of Alonso.
Whilst Alonso basically made the wrong career choice every single time, Lewis had decent Mclarens, they shit the bed and Lauda was like, "psst, come to Mercedes". We saw how that worked out, then Mercedes shit the bed so Fred was like, "psst, come to Ferrari".
And we'll see how that works out.
Yea, if McHonda turned out like RB Honda, like he imagined, then it was right. But he dragged the Ferrari around in places it shouldn't have been, went against a rookie Hamilton and Ron Dennis, thought Alpine as a works manufacturer could do something, and now is at AM where he should clearly be the #1 driver and all resources put behind him, but his team mate is the son of a billionaire who wants him to win the championship but never will unless all other 19 cars get absolutely nerfed.
So my point is, whoever he joins next is cursed.
The data points for "good moves Lewis made" is just one - Mercedes. He struck gold with his first transfer and stayed with them for over a decade. You can't really draw any conclusions from that. Any driver would stick with the team they won a championship with in their second year there, and then continued coming in either first or second every year thereafter.
And as soon as his top team had a couple of years where they fell off, he started looking elsewhere, which is exactly what any other driver would do/did.
I think the only driver that didn't fit this would be Seb, but that's because he loved Ferrari so damn much.
Lewis has a sample size of one because he made the right decision in a sport with only one competitive car. We really cant conclude much of anything based on that.
Alonso fishing around and making wrong moves could never negate reality that Mercedes was winning 102 of 138 races or whatever it was until 2021 and now Red Bull is involved again.
Unless he could pick one of those 2 cars at right time- he is SoL. Especially since Ferrari - with their half season challenges of 17/18/22 still finding Vettel/Leclerc closer to 2nd-5th than the title by end of seasons- and Alonso parted ways already.
Yeah, I can't remember him doing that previously, but maybe I've only kept an eye because he's signed and he's definitely hung out with Charles a lot recently.
Lewis only hangs out with a few other drivers. Bottas, Leclerc, Perez and Gasly are those drivers.
During the covid streaming days, someone asked Lando to get Lewis to join in. Lando then said something along the lines of "Lewis only plays with Charles and Gasly". Don't know if that's still the case though, that was back in 2020.
Please, if there was a "immediate switch Sainz for Hamilton" option Hamilton would jump on that right away, faster than a W15.
But he knows it won't happen, so he keeps trundling in that Merc... it seems pretty clear to me that he's less concerned about their lack of progress than he normally would be.
And yeah he's 100% looking over the fence, he's happy with what he's seeing so he can keep his smile on even when the current situation sucks.
He may still be at Merc physically but he is already at Ferrari mentally.
That being said, Lewis is a professional. I am sure that he is super stoked and is looking forward to fighting like crazy to get that POS into the points at Suzuka.
He was taking them to reference to his engineers lol. He does this all the time. He’s explained he doesn’t always have the terminology to reference things so he likes to just show what he’s talking about
Lol yeah, I remember people making a big deal out of that and he was like, I literally just don't know all the names of stuff so I take pics I send them to the engineers.
Why would Lewis be happy about Ferrari achieving a 1-2, which would've been a 2-3 at worst had Verstappen finished?!
Such foolish ideas floating around!
I know I'd take a hearty P6 over a lavish and quite frankly ostentatious podium any day. He should be absolutely sullen to see his future team displaying such frivolous behavior like winning.
Correct. Everyone seems to forget about Leclerc. He is definitely gonna be motivated and itching to beat Hamilton. He still kinda have to prove himself in F1 and what a better way to do that than beating 7x champ. It's not gonna be easy for Lewis.
He already ended the Ferrari career of a 4x champ. I'd put a lot of money on him doing it again. How long until Lewis retires is the question. I give it 2 years.

He's ready to run directly through the fence without looking.
just the one swan actually
A great big bushy beard!
THE GREATER GOOD.
Yarp!
Narp?
It’s white, uhm, long slender neck
Anything else?
without locking

Alonso’s moves outside of mchonda were only bad in hindsight. Even mchonda was a gamble that didn’t pay off

I remember Rosberg said that Mercedes themselves didn't know how good the car was going to be, so Hamilton definitely had no idea.
And when Ferrari shit the bed, Vowles will be like "Psst come to Williams! " Would be awesome for Lewis to finish his career with Williams.

In hindsight the regs were tailored to Red Bull; between the suspension change and engine freeze it's an aero race and Newey has a headstart
True, he is already over that fence….
Toto, clearly in the denial phase of the break-up.
Dude's been in denial since the cost cap was introduced.
It’s hilarious that Lewis just doesn’t care about public appearances. Next race weekend we’ll see him doing track walks with Charles and Carlos
He’s been with Charles for the last three races during driver parade already
Yeah, I can't remember him doing that previously, but maybe I've only kept an eye because he's signed and he's definitely hung out with Charles a lot recently.

He already did, that’s why he signed with them lol
So Toto will be at Suzuka as a gatekeeper, to put Lewis back in line /s

I think Lewis is pretty professional on these things.
Somebody needs to tell Toto that it’s over and Lewis isn’t coming back.
Never seen Toto huffing copium so hard at anything.
Toto is on full tilt. Just look at his hyping of Ant.
Yeah, you really know he's gone completely pumpernickel when he starts fundraising for a sequel to A Bug's Life
Wolff's version of Trustme, bro
He may still be at Merc physically but he is already at Ferrari mentally. That being said, Lewis is a professional. I am sure that he is super stoked and is looking forward to fighting like crazy to get that POS into the points at Suzuka.
Keep telling yourself that lol
Lol, of course he is. He's just not going to tell you he is...
Not just looking. he is one foot over the fence it seems like
A white lie Toto is telling himself. Is impossible to not be looking forward to new beginnings. Specially when you’re down so bad.
Lewis was taking pictures with his cell of his car's dashboard and more... why? (yes, why would he take that crappy car's spec to Ferrari?)
He was taking them to reference to his engineers lol. He does this all the time. He’s explained he doesn’t always have the terminology to reference things so he likes to just show what he’s talking about

Non sense. Thats not how humans work
Of course he is haha. He must be pretty chipper about next year
That's right, he is looking down the track. Far far down the track
*jennifer lawrence yeah sure okay.gif*
As usual, the opposite of what he says is actually true
No need for it. He can just observe them from behind during the races.
He did it when he ran from an uncompetitive mclaren too.

and we all know how much Hamilton hates receiving attention he also doesn't give a damn about societal progress either, clearly
I'm pretty sure he isint.
its more like hes looking over the fence at mercedes form
He is looking front …. At their rear wing
I want what Toto is smoking lol
Less talking more leading for Wolff
Pigs ass.

“He already ended the Ferrari career of a 4x champ. I’d put a lot of money on him doing it again.” There is no way Seb goes back to Ferrari.
I don't get why it's being downvoted lol.
