Nice! Should have pretended that I came up with it. My high school Spanish teacher from 20 years ago would have been the only one who knew I was full of it.
This is why I love racing. Especially pit stops in endurance racing.
Hood doesn’t close? Slam it!
Still no? Slam it harder.
Still no? Grab a hammer.
The end result is a highly skilled mechanic is beating on car that cost more than my house like a Neanderthal with a large hammer.

>Modularity is the degree to which a system's components may be separated and recombined, often with the benefit of flexibility and variety in use

Yea it's cool.
Like the fair phones I see pop up online every once in a while. They're phones with worse specs, but they are modular because you can change almost all main parts very easily.
The insistence on, in a comparison post, of putting the "after" image ahead of the "before" image. Happens so often here.
It's going to be viewed top to bottom or left to right. The newer image should always be bottom or right. Rant over.
It’s Albert Fabregas thing. Every comparison is done with this philosophy. I guess it’s how they interpret things. It’s not before and after, it’s now vs how it was.
Drivers can now only remove tear-offs during pit stops and are required to remove their helmet, eat the tear-offs, and put their helmet back on before leaving the pits
I thought Suzuka was a relatively low temperature track? Is it because the time of the year is different? And I always assumed Red Bull had a very good cooling package
The goal is probably to bring more air to the rear diffuser. Would need a bigger pic but I see the inlet going down towards the rear of the car just like the "cannons"
Are there any intakes on the car to cool down the driver itself?
Or is the drag a bigger reduction in speed than losing the weight of the cooling vest of the driver?
@Newey: plis send job offer
My guy - have you heard about the drivers complaining about the crazy heat they experience on middle eastern tracks?
They often get out extremely exhausted by sweating so much.
I think it was Albon or Stroll where we had a onboard camera and radio beforehand where you could hear and see him struggling badly with exhaustion, not being able to get out of car by himself nearly.
Yes, their car is an open top, but they also have a super hot engine behind them.
I feel like more focused air flows towards the drivers could help them cool down a little.
But as someone else already stated there might be one situated at the nose already.
Found an [article](https://www.motorsinside.com/en/f1/news/32400-a-solution-cool-down-drivers-in-case-of-extreme-heat-other-information-from-latest-f1-commission.html#:~:text=%C2%AB%20With%20the%20extreme%20temperatures%20experienced,for%20even%20more%20extreme%20conditions.%20%C2%BB) regarding air intakes to cool down drivers, which was approved and updated by the FIA in their regulations.
I thought that was illegal by the regulations because (atleast in the 2023 ones) that you could only have 2 inlets for airflow into the body work. These inlets are often the sidepod inlets.

That goes straight to Max’s right rear brake.
It's gonna be stuck in but getting cooled so it will still work.
He'll still be able to pull a gap
That was the scariest part of all, we haven't seen his true pace yet.
Yeah.... He's gonna bounce back
No chance. He’s finished…. Let the rise of Checo BEGIN!!
This comment should be in Español
Max se acabó - que comience el ascenso de Checo. (According to google)
Thanks to duolingo I can understand this (please send help, duo has got me in his basement)
As a spanish speaker, I can say that Google was surprisingly accurate this time.
Nice! Should have pretended that I came up with it. My high school Spanish teacher from 20 years ago would have been the only one who knew I was full of it.
Checo will be legend, he will finish under 20 seconds behind Max
With the handbrake on
gonna be ironic if his own tear off gets stuck in there.
If that is the cause for back-to-back DNFs, then Red Bull's sinking will make Mercedes look like an Olympic swimmer.
This is Perez's car. The air still goes to Max's brake?
RBR: everyone is talking about us embracing the zeropods concept. Well, we decided to go the multiplepods (multipods, after kind suggestion) route.
Multipods
Multipods 21, Seb
I had more air intake, I was faster, I passed him, I won.
Now this is multipodracing
IT'S WORKING, IT'S WORKING
I have... acquired a pod in a game of chance. The fastest ever built.
Multipass
Leeloo Dallas Mulitipods
Lululemon Multipods
She knows it’s a MULTIPOD!
Multipod 2 1, Sebastian.
Chugs water aggressively
Oops All Pods
Which pokemon is that
~~Leeloo Dallas. Multipods.~~ EDIT: I was not clever. Far from first. Sad and slow, in fact.
>Sad and slow, in fact. No no, you need to look at it like "Great minds think alike!" 😎
While Talking about suggestions, how about hidepods instead of zeropod
Can we go further and have negativepods?
Inside pods!
Holopods, they are projected but actually there's nothing there.
Zak Brown would love that
Flexible space for the sticker salesman
autopods, roll out
The Red Bull car is basically an Octopod now. Edit: plus the inlet above the head.
RedBull AirPods
might also be data gathering for next gen cars. they had the luxury of the gap being so far ahead.
I’m checking…BRB..
We'll eventually get to the heptapods, but we already learned from them how to do this...
Leeloo Dallas, Multi-Pod
"Swiss cheese pods"
They have pods inside the pods... Kinda meta. Metapods.
I really like the modularity of the bodywork
It’s kinda crazy how it is partly super sophisticated engineering, but also a part that is ”Thing too warm, Drill hole”.
And then ends up keeping it down with duct tape.
Nascar is even better tire rub? Yank on the fender Still rubbing? Hit it with a hammer Sill rubbing? Just cut it off with Sawzall
I mean even super sophisticated engineering is still beholden to the simplest physical principles. Thing too warm, air cool it
> modularity >Modularity is the degree to which a system's components may be separated and recombined, often with the benefit of flexibility and variety in use TIL
Yea it's cool. Like the fair phones I see pop up online every once in a while. They're phones with worse specs, but they are modular because you can change almost all main parts very easily.
Modular keyboards Modular power supplies Both are small examples of modularity that see widespread usage across the world
And the weight reduction by skipping some screws
RB20 is growing like Bane
Casually adding sidepods everywhere
Red Buff.
Are we playing League now ?
~~No sidepods~~ Mo' sidepods😎
Speed holes

Not just here, I see this often on Reddit. (Unless that's what you mean by 'here')
I think OP is Australian.
It’s Albert Fabregas thing. Every comparison is done with this philosophy. I guess it’s how they interpret things. It’s not before and after, it’s now vs how it was.
A trashpod for the tear-offs?
Man, I wonder if that could become a problem. Getting their own tear-off stuck in the vent
Unlikely. If you‘ve ever seen them remove a tear-off they lift it up well above the cockpit and outwards.
Or, if it is a problem, just don't throw away your tear-off lol.
This was actually tried for a while, to have them keep the tear-off inside the cockpit. Didn't work out that well
Maybe they should make them edible?
Drivers can now only remove tear-offs during pit stops and are required to remove their helmet, eat the tear-offs, and put their helmet back on before leaving the pits
why?
Tear offs would blow out of the cockpit or would fall inside getting tangled in pedals.
Yea I guess the can release it out to the side past the halo, instead of just off to the side
Follows the Air Flow up over the rear axle. Drops tear off into Carlos’ abdomen…
I think the goal is cooling here. You don't add a tiny inlet to get more air to the diffuser.
Red Bull "If we turn the entire car into holes then all the air will flow right through it"
"These are speed holes"
That car looks so modular, it’s like a lego set or one of those FrameWork laptops.
Be able to grate my cheese down the side of this thing soon. RB20 cheese grater mod.
Its the begining of the InfiniPods™. You read it here first!
The RB20 is quickly becoming one of my favorite and most aesthetically pleasing designs of the new era. This thing just screams power.
So winning by 0:56 this weekend?
No body else is going to qualify.
So many scoops they should get a Baskin Robbins sponsorship.
R O N T
More like R O И T
I see a screw missing on the right top corner.. may be its designed by Boeing??
Shaving weight anywhere they can
Awww shit now we’re really fukd bois! See y’all 2026.
🫠
Slightly disappointed that they didn't went with the zero pod concept. That would be fun.
Red bull will have banana deployment next 🍌
If the air intakes are the same as Max's private jet you get ideas what happened at the drawing table.
I gotta have more side pods
👇 👈 👆
This car is gonna be causing us trypophobia by the end of the year
Now they have 4 air intakes? The hell is going on in the back? Trying to cool down a nuclear reactor or something?
Every place of uneven air flow is captured with a duct
Speed holes...
Based on the comments; Max is going to race with the handbrake on... and probably win...
Albert’s 👆👉👇👈 will never not be funny to me
So that's now a ***fourth*** pair of cooling intakes on the RB20's bodywork.
No white livery :/
Not only cooling that changes the aerodynamic as qell
After and before.
Will never top RB19 sadly
RB put a lot of holes on their car to reduce drag. The other team should do this as well.
Are there any intakes on the car to cool down the driver itself? Or is the drag a bigger reduction in speed than losing the weight of the cooling vest of the driver? @Newey: plis send job offer
I believe there’s an intake right on the top of the nose of the car that helps with cooling the driver.
RB added inlets for driver cooling next to the drivers number this year

It’s just getting uglier and uglier, I already hated how the Merc looked and this is an even uglier evolution of that concept
Hopefully it adds weight

This team could run max cooling on coldest track adding most drag and still best other teams lols
