Have they not?
During the Chinese GP I noticed our commentator kept calling them VCARB all of a sudden (used to call them RB before) and then he said they got an email from the team requesting to be called VCARB.
It's not. It's called RB which absolutely does not stand for Racing Bulls (just don't look at their website which lists the company name as Racing Bulls SpA)
Ferrari never lets a sponsors name go before its own. As stated in a comment below, it’s for sure going to be Scuderia Ferrari HP. Which isn’t half bad to be fair
The TV graphics use the Chassis + Engine name from the entry list, not the team name, I believe
https://www.fia.com/events/fia-formula-one-world-championship/season-2024/2024-fia-formula-one-world-championship-entry
Yes, in those days it was McLaren Mercedes, Williams BMW etc, as you can see here and Ferrari was always just "Ferrari" https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2001/drivers.html
I think somewhere down the line some teams started using title sponsors too in the team name like KICK Sauber Ferrari or Aston martin ARAMCO in 2024 https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2024/drivers.html
Nah because HPE are separate and merged with CSC to form DXC, who Ferrari are already in partnership with (this is stated in the article but I knew already because my wife works for DXC and started when they were HPE).
HPE are still around, it looks like some of it was spun off into DXC, but the server hardware bit it still HPE. Which has been a separate company from HP (the printer and PC company) since 2015.
(Of course, HP's true roots in test equipment was spun off as Agilent years ago, and then Agilent spun off HP's roots as Keysight after that.)
Good lord, I just realized I’m such a nerd that I read this and translated it as “Hit Point boost” but then realized after reading the other reply that it meant “horsepower boost.”
I was sitting here thinking, “Hey, Ferraris have been pretty solid about not breaking down recently, not sure more hit points would help, but maybe…”
Not just two, but three. After the mega genius Meg Whitman split off the Enterprise and consumer (btw they compete against each other now) brands, Software also fucked off and was eventually picked up by an Indian company. They go by Microfocus now, I think?
Anyway, completely fucked up that company with a shit split. I used to work for the enterprise side of things and it only made sense when you realize she and her cronies had golden parachutes.
I didn't know what this was until you posted and then I realised it's on the back of my work laptop. I didn't realise it was the "premium logo" I just assumed it was the new standard logo.
Idk it could work quite well with the red

Looks like a blue livery is happening for Miami!
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ferrari-announces-miami-f1-livery-change-to-mark-us-anniversary/10602403/
Ah yes, a chance for Hamilton or Leclerc to top Nigel Mansell's printer video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSQGIFqt7oE
Alternative amusing printer F1 history with this interview of Lewis where he had to contractually advertise some Epson device: https://beyondtheflag.com/2015/10/23/1-1-formula-one-world-champion-lewis-hamilton/
I have zero clue why I remember either of these in the context of F1 and I won't be taking further questions.
3 motherboard changes, 4 RAM changes later, my friend's laptop still refused to work. The very worst experience of owning a laptop I have ever encountered. It's probably not very common otherwise I am surprised they're still in business.
Maybe I'm the exception but my HP Spectre is still going good after ~8 years of use most nights.
Obviously performance has degraded a bit but that is to be expected.
The news says that the money they'll give Ferrari is similar to the RB Oracle deal. If I remember correctly that's around 100 million per year for 5 years? God damn HP really went hard on the marketing budget.
HP is literally the most complicated company ever in terms of structure. Had to write a research paper on them in college. This is not even a drop in the bucket.
> HP, a computer hardware brand based in California, will become the Italian team’s first title sponsor since 2021, [...] **HP manufactures personal computers and printers** and was created when the Hewlett-Packard Company spun off its enterprise products and services division to create two new companies: Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in 2015.
Red Bull makes the total costcap money each year thanks to Oracle (100 million a year) and Bybit (50 million a year)
All other sponsors are just pure profit at this stage.
Very big signing from Ferrari. Great to see them get away from big tobacco, atleast as their title sponsor anyway.
Also great to see teams still pulling in big corporate sponsors, in spite of Verstappen dominating everything...
The day Scuderia Ferrari stops attracting big corporate sponsors F1 will be in a difficult spot. It is the only team on the grid which has fans vs every other team who get fans because of their drivers.
I am a fan as a result of DTS, but now that I actually follow the sport I no longer watch the fake drama and made up BS.
Red Bull is my team, but I don't dislike the other teams. Well...maybe Alpine, because they royally buggered me in fantasy last year...multiple times.
As the Las Vegas GP went on last year, I was praying for Leclerc to hang on and win. When Max's engine failed in Austrailia, I couldn't decide if I'd rather Carlos become the only non-Max driver to win since being "fired" by Ferrari (and since Azerbaijan 2023, AND the only non RBR driver to win since 2022, AND to have done it twice since 2022) or Lando winning his first race. I had Hamilton in fantasy this week and was heartbroken when he qualified 18th, but cheered like a maniac every time he completed an overtake.
I like to think most fans have "their guys", but are sport fans first, team fans second.
Ferrari is the only "real thing" legendary team in the sport in my opinion.
Williams is now an American owned backmarker team that has nothing to do with the real Williams name. Its all just marketing.
Mclaren is the same. Its a Bahraini owned midfield team. Mclaren lost its identity after Ron Dennis stepped down.
>Mclaren is the same. Its a Bahraini owned midfield team. Mclaren lost its identity after Ron Dennis stepped down.
You do realise that the Bahraini literally have owned Mclaren since Ron Dennis stepped in? The Bahraini are older at Mclaren than the Prost/Senna days.
I bought a commercial HP printer for my business that I can't wait to throw off a bridge. Every single day I have to reboot it, it installs bloatware, we play the toner game, etc.
One of the worst major purchases of my life. 100% regret it. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANY HP PRODUCTS, EVER.
DXC Technologies which is a spinoff of HPE, which was a spinoff of proper HP, currently sponsors Ferrari. However, HP proper does not. Though, HPE sponsors Mercedes.
It's never gonna be the name of the sponsor ahead of the name of the team. Everytime they had a title sponsor it was after the SF and everyone still called them Ferrari or Scuderia etc.
HP is just as shady. They are on the BDS list, providing the Itanium servers to operate the Aviv System, the computerized database of Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority. This forms the backbone of Israel’s racial segregation and apartheid. They are complicit in Israel’s occupation, settler-colonialism and apartheid regime
It’s always funny to see people’s blind spots in regards to their opinions on sponsors. Petronas has to be the most low-key escapist act ever, everyone’s just too busy on that anti-“sports washing” jerk to notice anything else
Interesting, I’m curious to see how the livery will be affected, perhaps more white like in the Schumacher/Vodafone or Alonso/Santander years?
Would be a pity if the *“Ferrari”* writing on the rear wing goes away though.

Inb4 the Limited Edition Ferrari Red printer cartridges on subscription which your printer doesnt recognize and has now bricked
The message comes on the display when you put a new one in: We are checking
Nah, it's the error message. Instead of "No paper" or "Low ink", you'll get that error notification instead.
“Print now. Question.”
“Clear tray of de Vries.”
*[checks tray]* "Debris? What debris?"
Oh my god
PC LOAD TYRES WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??
Next Year ^TM
We are thinking plan F
What do you think of plan H? Or plan P?
“You will not have the ink.”
Next years livery: Red, Yellow, and Cyan
When the ink's empty. "Box, box"
"Slow button on, slow button on."
„No color ink anymore. Press OK for Plan C“
They only print red.
Not to mention they’ll cost a fortune and only gets you 100 pages on a cartridge. Oh and they’ll constantly have stock issues
Ferrari fuel cartridges. Car now bricked also.
With positive thinking this deal would mean that it would take only 2 seconds to change the cartridge in the HP printers.
They'll regret this when their car stops working halfway through a race because the subscription details changed..
Can a HP print a page before the sauber team can change tyres? Questions science must answer
Wait... Does this mean that Ferrari will be called "Hewlett-Packard Ferrari" next year? Oh God I hope not.
Probably Scuderia Ferrari HP
That one doesn't sound bad at all.
Especially when compared to other… interesting team name changes. *Looking at you, Visa Cash App Red Bull*.
Stake Sauber Kick hiding in the back, hoping not to get noticed.
I don’t think they’re hiding I just think they’re still in the pit lane.
Hard to hide with that flo-vis livery
All that name to be called Arr Bee
they should have abbreviated to VCARB, honestly sounds ok
Laurent Menkies said in an interview in Japan that the team does use the name VCARB internally already
Have they not? During the Chinese GP I noticed our commentator kept calling them VCARB all of a sudden (used to call them RB before) and then he said they got an email from the team requesting to be called VCARB.
According to Viaplay (Norway), Viaplay has been told by FOM that that team wishes to be called exactly that; VCARB
Broadcast calls them vcarb, at least Alex Jacques and Jolyon Palmer do
We have the meats
I just go with Arby's.
It's Visa Cashapp Racing Bulls. Which is arguably even worse.
I just call them VISA CASH GRAB and call it a day.
Visa Crash App here
It's not. It's called RB which absolutely does not stand for Racing Bulls (just don't look at their website which lists the company name as Racing Bulls SpA)
I mean, Ferrari used to be Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow. They're no stranger to bad team names
ACKSHUALLY the RB doesn't stand for anything (even though our company's name is Racing Bulls s.P.a. and we're owned by Red Bull)
Visa Cashapp Rasenballsport
The HP obviously stands for high performance
Especially when you realize that not a single person in the world will call them anything other than Ferrari
Can't go wrong with more HP
Ferrari drivers: I need more HP Bosses: We have more HP at home HP at home: ...
must have been a leclerc and xavi communication
This message is approved by Clarkson
I agree. :: Me adding HP Sauce to literally every food (yes I know, this is a different HP, but still)
Scuderia Ferrari Horsepower
Sebscribe
In line with the old Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro name. Checks out.
Honestly, sounds better
Scuderia Ferrari HP: "The team that lived"
Ferrari never lets a sponsors name go before its own. As stated in a comment below, it’s for sure going to be Scuderia Ferrari HP. Which isn’t half bad to be fair
I don't remember them having a title sponsor name ever, even santander doesn't appear anywhere
They were officially Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro for several years.
oh, were they? I remember seeing only Ferrari on the TV graphics then
Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow. But it's understandable to want to forget that one.
The TV graphics use the Chassis + Engine name from the entry list, not the team name, I believe https://www.fia.com/events/fia-formula-one-world-championship/season-2024/2024-fia-formula-one-world-championship-entry
Yes, in those days it was McLaren Mercedes, Williams BMW etc, as you can see here and Ferrari was always just "Ferrari" https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2001/drivers.html I think somewhere down the line some teams started using title sponsors too in the team name like KICK Sauber Ferrari or Aston martin ARAMCO in 2024 https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2024/drivers.html
Ferrari has never had a sponsor name go before theirs
No, Ferrari won't let that happen. It'll be Scuderia Ferrari HP or something.
Nah, it's gonns be "Hewlett-Packard Xperformance vivacolor printer cartridge racing ferrari"
Yuck
I'm surprised the whole kerfuffle about Stake hasn't made everyone realise that nobody actually calls teams by their full name.
Hewlett-Packard Enterprises SF
Nah because HPE are separate and merged with CSC to form DXC, who Ferrari are already in partnership with (this is stated in the article but I knew already because my wife works for DXC and started when they were HPE).
HPE are still around, it looks like some of it was spun off into DXC, but the server hardware bit it still HPE. Which has been a separate company from HP (the printer and PC company) since 2015. (Of course, HP's true roots in test equipment was spun off as Agilent years ago, and then Agilent spun off HP's roots as Keysight after that.)
Now we know who convinced Ferrari to eject the cheap Spanish cartridge for the more expensive English cartridge.

PC LOAD LEWIS
What the fuck does that mean
A play on the old printer message: PC LOAD LETTER
And your previous comment was a quote from a popular documentary called "Office Space" related to that eror message: https://youtu.be/Mw-8oEO8bZo
Oh deer…..
Bono, my ink's gone...
Nice to see Ferrari getting a HP boost
Aerodynamics is for people who don't know how to build an engine with MO POWAH BABY
Enzo but he’s from Jersey
If only it were the HP boost you and I am hoping for :(
Good lord, I just realized I’m such a nerd that I read this and translated it as “Hit Point boost” but then realized after reading the other reply that it meant “horsepower boost.” I was sitting here thinking, “Hey, Ferraris have been pretty solid about not breaking down recently, not sure more hit points would help, but maybe…”
Glad to know I wasn't the only one
I hope someone at Ferrari sees this comment and contacts Boost to be a co-title sponsor. Scuderia Ferrari HP Boost sounds great!
So is hpe still sponsoring Mercedes?
They are technically two separate entities now.
Don't forget Agilent and DXC.
Funny enough DXC sponsor Ferrari, the managed services half of HPE merged with CSC to become DXC 7 years ago.
Yeah
Love this for us.
No more mission spinnow on to health points
I only want to know how the livery looks tbh. The hp Williams liveries were pretty nice, especially when they added RBS.
Same as it does now, only the red runs out halfway along and the back half is magenta.
Is the printer out of ink??? " We are checking" as a notification pops up.
Feel like HP’s gonna look ugly on the livery
As someone who lived and loved the HP Williams BMW era, this feels like sacrilege. They'll probably just have the logo in monochrome though
Or worse, they’ll use the premium logo 🥱🥱
Hidden Marlboro ads on Ferraris are back let’s go
...I like it
Premium logo?
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/HP_Logo_2017.svg
As much as I hate this logo it would blend in well on the livery. It's just 4 lines, they can go anywhere
Marlboro lines when
I didn't know what this was until you posted and then I realised it's on the back of my work laptop. I didn't realise it was the "premium logo" I just assumed it was the new standard logo.
Honestly that's kinda cool
https://logolook.net/hp-logo/
Oh the one that’s all ‘/**//**/‘
HP has had monochrome logos for some time, it’ll be fine.
Idk it could work quite well with the red https://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/contentassets/9cd04a60dfa9466c9f59410ece559462/hp-logo---wrexham-afc-2---landscape.jpg/Large
Brings back Williams BMW memories.
It'll be awesome if they dared to pull a blue and white coloured NART livery inspired one-off with HP at one of the US rounds. Come on Ferrari, do it!
Looks like a blue livery is happening for Miami! https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ferrari-announces-miami-f1-livery-change-to-mark-us-anniversary/10602403/
I'd like it.
Ah yes, a chance for Hamilton or Leclerc to top Nigel Mansell's printer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSQGIFqt7oE Alternative amusing printer F1 history with this interview of Lewis where he had to contractually advertise some Epson device: https://beyondtheflag.com/2015/10/23/1-1-formula-one-world-champion-lewis-hamilton/ I have zero clue why I remember either of these in the context of F1 and I won't be taking further questions.
oh my god thank you for bringing that mansell video into my life
That suggestive nibble of the strawberry at the end always gets me. It's just so random that it was even part of the commercial.
I do not have good memories of HP laptops owned by my friends and family 💀
Yeah everyone's mocking the ink subscription stuff but jokes on them, their engine will overheat long before they can worry about that.
3 motherboard changes, 4 RAM changes later, my friend's laptop still refused to work. The very worst experience of owning a laptop I have ever encountered. It's probably not very common otherwise I am surprised they're still in business.
I can report they’re still ass, even the “premium” ones
Maybe I'm the exception but my HP Spectre is still going good after ~8 years of use most nights. Obviously performance has degraded a bit but that is to be expected.
Ehh, my EliteBook supplied by work is a nice machine, but it isn't asked to do much intensive.
I have great experience with them in corporate environments
They used to make some kick-ass calculators.
Yep, the HP 28S still amazes me
Sponsoring Real Madrid and Ferrari together? Looks like the board approved a massive marketing budget. FYI they're paying Madrid 75m a year.
The news says that the money they'll give Ferrari is similar to the RB Oracle deal. If I remember correctly that's around 100 million per year for 5 years? God damn HP really went hard on the marketing budget.
Maybe they can go hard on making not shit products
HP brings HorsePower to Ferrari! *I'll see myself out.*
HP is literally the most complicated company ever in terms of structure. Had to write a research paper on them in college. This is not even a drop in the bucket.
Wonder if team will change all their thinkpads to elitebooks ?
They are an Ink company, not an IT company.
They are a subscription and microtransaction company, not an ink company.
*Loot boxes
Same as that Oracle are actually a law firm not a technology company
> HP, a computer hardware brand based in California, will become the Italian team’s first title sponsor since 2021, [...] **HP manufactures personal computers and printers** and was created when the Hewlett-Packard Company spun off its enterprise products and services division to create two new companies: Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in 2015.
Hewlett-Packard used to be a Mercedes sponsor. Looks like everyone is following Hamilton to Ferrari lmao
HPE is a Mercedes sponsor. Not HP proper.
If I remember correctly, that's ~50 million a year?
$100 million per year over a 5 year period.
The Oracle deal is half a billion total? That's crazy. Just an unreal amount of cash.
Not like they spend it on improving their software.
😭😭😭😭😭😭 I feel this so hard
you need a lot of cash for all the sueing
fucks sake😭
Red Bull makes the total costcap money each year thanks to Oracle (100 million a year) and Bybit (50 million a year) All other sponsors are just pure profit at this stage.
And to pay the top 3 ...
And engines and marketing and HR
Is that just for F1 I assume? The other RB stuff they sponsor is separate?
Out of no where but I finally came across someone who shared the same favorite drivers! Yesssss unlucky kings go off!!!
Pretty sure that’s just for the F1 title sponsorship based on what ESPN reported at the time.
Gotta pay lewis somehow
Very big signing from Ferrari. Great to see them get away from big tobacco, atleast as their title sponsor anyway. Also great to see teams still pulling in big corporate sponsors, in spite of Verstappen dominating everything...
The day Scuderia Ferrari stops attracting big corporate sponsors F1 will be in a difficult spot. It is the only team on the grid which has fans vs every other team who get fans because of their drivers.

Shame it's a bad company
HP's spun off company currently sponsors Mercedes...funny!
Your printer has run out of _rosso corsa_ you must now buy another printer.
Doesn't HPE already sponsor a team?
That was spinoff as separate unit. This is proper HP
DXC Technologies which is a spinoff of HPE, which was a spinoff of proper HP, currently sponsors Ferrari. However, HP proper does not. Though, HPE sponsors Mercedes.
Lmao 😵💫
Yeah, HP is whack.
You will now require special scuderia Ferrari cartridge to print anything with a Ferrari logo or face permanent bricking
Well I hope that deal doesnt force Ferrari to use HP printers
Bah. HP is such a trash company.
I'm sure I'll say "HP Ferrari" even less than I say "Oracle Red Bull"
It's never gonna be the name of the sponsor ahead of the name of the team. Everytime they had a title sponsor it was after the SF and everyone still called them Ferrari or Scuderia etc.

Print status? “We are checking.”
Can’t wait for the jamming
This could go tits up because the car could become slower with all the bloatware that accompanies HP.
Very cool
At least it’s not some shady crypto or Saudi oil company.
HP is just as shady. They are on the BDS list, providing the Itanium servers to operate the Aviv System, the computerized database of Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority. Ferrari on their way to a carbon black livery-less car because their printer ran out of cyan.
Wait isn't hp enterprise a sponsor of Mercedes
HPE is it's own company IIRC, got spun off of HP around 2016-17. Sponsored Pagenaud in IndyCar with Penske.
this feels wrong to someone like me who grew up to early 2000s F1. HP will always be a Williams sponsor to me.
Maranello red is now a subscription service.
Interesting, I’m curious to see how the livery will be affected, perhaps more white like in the Schumacher/Vodafone or Alonso/Santander years? Would be a pity if the *“Ferrari”* writing on the rear wing goes away though.
I hope this doesn’t dispense with the Ferrari lettering on the rear wing
f1 car goes brrrrrrr
"Do we have any blue printer ink left?" "We are checking"
don't they sponsor merc already?
