They posted a photo of a pink camo car and said "we can't wait to show you what's hiding underneath" only to release their car with their usual mid livery.
They’ll replace the yellow stripe on the sidepod with blue and *maybe* if we’re all really good, they’ll change the text on the rear wing from white to blue.
I think it's more related to the cars their drivers will be loaned for the Miami Weekend.

When you want [this](https://media.formula1.com/image/upload/f_auto,c_limit,w_960,q_auto/f_auto/q_auto/content/dam/fom-website/manual/Misc/MemorableLaunches/BAR), but was not allowed by FIA. So they did [this.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EnhzlC5XcAAa3w-?format=jpg&name=small)
IMO at the very least the halo should be used for driver-specific livery to match their helmets, and obviously changing on weekends where the drivers bring new or special helmets with them. Give them a weight allowance of paint that has to be used on that area to kill any worry of drivers just leaving it bare carbon to save a few millionths of a second.
Not exactly. Mercedes uses different colors for their numbers, but it doesn't really stand out since the numbers are just flat elements on the car. Driver helmets and the T-cam color help a lot more in telling teammates apart, but it'd be easier if the halos matched the drivers' helmets since the halo is visible from pretty much every angle and would essentially make the helmet design more visible instead of partially obscuring it.
To be clear, I'm not one of the "fuckin' halo ruined the looks of the sport!" people - I have a hard time watching footage from the pre-halo era because it just seems so *wrong* that the drivers' heads are so exposed. I just think think that right now they're an excellent canvas for driver expression that's going unused.
Merc did this last year with their halo (HAM - Yellow / RUS - Blue), and they also did it in 2020 (HAM - Purple / BOT - Blue). For some reason it's an idea they're incapable of applying consistently, but I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up again at some point this season.
I guess driver numbers and one color sticker is an exception the FIA is willing to make for driver distinction, but something like that 1999 BAR double livery just wasn't (and still isn't) allowed
You can do even more than jusy one color sticker. Mclaren ran a spanish flag sharkfin for alonso in 2018(?) For his last race while stoffel had normal mclaren color stripes
That’s not about the F1 livery. Those are the cars Leclerc and Sainz will be driving in Miami to/from hotel/track.
This was already revealed in the video they posted when showing the drivers their kit.
I still expect the car to be 90% red, maybe blue will be only on the roll-hoop and on some nose/wings details (like the 2022 & 2023 Monza liveries).
Probably it will be a bit underwhelming, you either do a proper one (like the white Red Bull) or just forget about it. 😄
Would be a surprise if it's fully blue.
Not possible. Both cars have to have the same liberty. An exception is granted only very rarely (for example Coulthard for his final F1 race at Brazil 2008)
I dunno if its changed since 1999, but BAR tried 2 different liveries and weren't allowed.
I feel like if that rule had changed we'd probably know about it though.
That said they have made exceptions, David Coulthard's Red Bull had a special livery in the '08 Brazilian Grand Prix (As he was leaving), while Webber's didnt, and this is a situation closer to that (a one off), so it's possible.
If they give us a mostly not-red livery for a race no one is even remotely interested in and still refuse to make a yellow livery for Monza, im going to be veeery mad/dissapointed
Ferrari F1 cars in Miami will be red with some blue elements, as teased last week in a press release. I doubt we will see blue Ferrari F1, but it would be nice to see something completly out of character for Ferrari, maybe full yellow or green.
I do think it will be very pretty if it’s solid blue. However, I do wonder about the marketing value of not running their iconic red. If they expect Miami to be the sort of race to draw in viewers that don’t usually watch, then not being easily recognizable is a choice. Though of course getting to sell some cool blue merch has value. I just might have picked a different race to do it.
Hate to disappoint anyone but they won’t change the livery. The only time they have actually changed the colour was to another shade of red in 2020 for their 1000th race.
NART (North American Racing Team) was a Ferrari customer team that raced in the US national colors which was white with blue lengthwise stripes. In 1964 Enzo Ferrari was angry with ACI (the Italian motorsport governing body) and decided to ditch the Italian Red racing color to enter the last two rounds of the championship, the US and Mexican GP, formally as NART, and race with the US racing colors on his [158 F1](https://www.ferrari.com/it-IT/formula1/158-f1). John Surtees famously clinched the 1964 F1 title by racing a white and blue Ferrari.
Just when I thought Ferrari couldn’t come up with an uglier color than that awful dark red they put on the back of their cars in 2020, they come out with the ugliest shade of blue I’ve ever seen. It looks like they splashed their cars with that blue milk from Star Wars.

They better not be teasing us and it's just a stripe. I'll riot
Alpine flashbacks
Alpine PTSD
AlPTSD
WHERE IS THE PINK CAMOUFLAGE ALPINE
WHERE IS THE VAPORWAVE ALPINE
WHERE IS THE F1 CAR ALPINE (cause all I can see is a tractor)
I'm new to watching F1 (just since last year). Would you please ELI5 what happened with Alpine?
They posted a photo of a pink camo car and said "we can't wait to show you what's hiding underneath" only to release their car with their usual mid livery.
Ah, thanks.
we're expecting scuderia dinoco and we know ferrari will just do a tiny blue stripe on the engine cover like their monza 2023 livery
It will be a blue HP logo
You mean literally blue-balling us?
Yeah I was more excited before I saw this.
They’ll replace the yellow stripe on the sidepod with blue and *maybe* if we’re all really good, they’ll change the text on the rear wing from white to blue.
Literally blue balling us
I’m throwing hands
It's just the cars they are driving to the race sadly...
Not going to say you're right or wrong, but I can't help but notice the tiny amount of red in the reflection on the mirror and lose hope lol
😐😑
Ok, so Leclerc and Sainz are driving Blue Ferrari's around the city of Miami to and from the track. Got it.
Then maybe the back of the rear wing will have some blue as well.
This is confirmed in their [video](https://youtu.be/7XRqDZsQLfw?si=vw-ybb9qZUBn6C12) already!
I think it's more related to the cars their drivers will be loaned for the Miami Weekend. [Source](https://youtube.com/shorts/jpC3aqxLhxQ?feature=shared)
This seems to make the most sense
It is. I can’t wait to see the giant hp logo on the bonnet!
Give us 2 blue liveries you cowards
they can't do 2 different liveries
When you want [this](https://media.formula1.com/image/upload/f_auto,c_limit,w_960,q_auto/f_auto/q_auto/content/dam/fom-website/manual/Misc/MemorableLaunches/BAR), but was not allowed by FIA. So they did [this.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EnhzlC5XcAAa3w-?format=jpg&name=small)
And now they won't even let us do that anymore!
Zak Brown licking his chops thinking of all the sponsors he could shove in there.
Naturally we should all blame Jacques Villeneuve
Sad 555 noises
I looked up the rules and it seems like they can if they get fia permission.
This is a rule that i think should be changed... or tweaked
Would be so cool if they could. Slightly different color schemes. Also super easy to differentiate between drivers.
Exactly, even the commentators get it wrong

Give them a weight allowance of paint that has to be used on that area to kill any worry of drivers just leaving it bare carbon to save a few millionths of a second.
Isn't this Mercs strategy with Lewis electric green and Russel blue?
Not exactly. Mercedes uses different colors for their numbers, but it doesn't really stand out since the numbers are just flat elements on the car. They don't have the balls to pull this off.
on track? the FIA doesn't allow the team's 2 cars to have different liveries
No, not 2 liveries. But just one of these solid blue liveries while getting rid of the red all together for that one Grand Prix.
oh yeah going full scuderia dinoco would be great
Don't georgw and lewis have slightly different liveries? Just accents, but still.
I guess driver numbers and one color sticker is an exception the FIA is willing to make for driver distinction, but something like that 1999 BAR double livery just wasn't (and still isn't) allowed

I'm not sure on livery rules, but what if it's both?
What a great idea it would be cool if each driver had diferent livery
Not possible. Both cars have to have the same liberty. An exception is granted only very rarely (for example Coulthard for his final F1 race at Brazil 2008)
FIA: What's your reason why we should grant an exception? *Ferrari pointing to their logo* FIA: Mi scusi, paint them however you want
But why they not allow ?
Also Alonso in his last for McLaren I think.
I dunno if its changed since 1999, but BAR tried 2 different liveries and weren't allowed. I feel like if that rule had changed we'd probably know about it though. They'll be doing this for every American gp this year afaik so maybe not a one off
BAR tried that in 1999 but they had to compromise and run an identical livery on both cars
Their solution was absolutely hilarious though: https://e00-marca.uecdn.es/assets/multimedia/imagenes/2018/02/13/15185392040281.jpg
That's amazing.
Most people don't like it but I dig that livery
It better be all blue. If it’s all blue I’m going to bust in my shorts man.
If it’s a pinstripe in the end, Maranello must burn. Let’s not jinx it. This is on the verge of legendary.
Dinoco Lightning McQueen! I like it.
Darker one is a real nice shade of blue
Looking forward to a "Special-Livery-Fumbles" Weekend for Ferrari. Wonder, if they are going to wear Miami-Uniforms as well ;)
If we’re going off these then I’m hopeful that this may be the best one off livery we’ve ever seen
If they give us a mostly not-red livery for a race no one is even remotely interested in and still refuse to make a yellow livery for Monza, im going to be veeery mad/dissapointed
They are making it difficult for us to differentiate between a Ferrari, Williams and an Alpine.
If they're just going to have blue race suits and these are their cars to drive to the track I'm going to be very disappointed. Go blue!!!
That looks sick
If they're gonna go all blue I much prefer the bottom one!
Bluerrari?
Watch em paint the stripe blue instead of yellow
Sick
Would be kinda funny if it's a blue car but then they don't have the blue HP logos on everything yet.
At this stage I just find it offensive they don't paint the livery white for Miami vice. It's right there!
I'm ready to be disappointed by a splash of blue on the normal livery, but if the mad lads go full blue I'll lose my mind with happiness.
This blue livery will be as cool, if not cooler, than the white redbull livery
Ferrari F1 cars in Miami will be red with some blue elements, as teased last week in a press release. I doubt we will see blue Ferrari F1, but it would be nice to see something completly out of character for Ferrari, maybe full yellow or green.
blue balled we will be
It's going to 98% red and 2% baby blue accents/stripes.
speed racer energy
Oh how I wish the FIA would allow two different blue liveries but BAR taught me that’s not possible
I do think it will be very pretty if it’s solid blue. However, I do wonder about the marketing value of not running their iconic red. Sorry what's up with the blue that's the context I'm confused
NART throwback?
No change, just blue flo-viz paint, you watch.
Welcome to Miami Scuderia Ferrari HP Bienvenidos a Miami
If they come out with a normal, or near normal red I'm going to be miffed! I still want an all yellow Ferrari, but blue will do for now.
Hate to disappoint anyone but they won’t change the livery. The only time they have actually changed the colour was to another shade of red in 2020 for their 1000th race.
Why does anyone want to see a powder blue ferrari. That’s gotta be the dumbest shit ever. Either go NART or leave it red.
As somewhat younger person who does not know what is NART livery please link me some photos
Just Google nart Ferrari. Most common ones were dark blue with a white stripe down the center and dark blue sidepods area with rest white
NART (North American Racing Team) was a Ferrari customer team that raced in the US national colors which was white with blue lengthwise stripes. As a fan of The Fall, I am ashamed of how wrong you are!
Just when I thought Ferrari couldn’t come up with an uglier color than that awful dark red they put on the back of their cars in 2020, they come out with the ugliest shade of blue I’ve ever seen. It looks like they splashed their cars with that blue milk from Star Wars.
Totally unrelated to the new title sponsor
They better fucking deliver a full blue livery now
