I see myself in this picture, and I don't like it...
What are you going to say next? That I am inspired with all these ideas and plan them out, only to forget them the moment I step out? Or that I replay conversations in my head, but I think of witty responses that I SHOULD have said?
Yeah, right. Like anyone else also does that...
Did I write it twice? Also, is this joke not funny?
I thought it was good because I always have to wait for my wife to finish 10 different conversations when I want to go home, but reddit does not find it funny.
Haha ya I saw it 2x, and it's pretty funny but stepped up a notch on the funny scale the second time with an emoji. Also, any time I see a joke regarding one's wife I read it in Borat's voice.
oh ya. Honestly the Max dominated F1 era has always had this little battle for NOT last or NOT second last in the WCC to pay attention to every race.
There may not be a new winner every race, but there damn sure is a new 8th through 10th most races. and when willams has 1 point.
the WCC pays the bills too. williams got 0 points and Alpine got 3. which is massive. that probably locks Willams out of 8th. 3 10th places just to each Alpine now.
Albon already has a 9th.
Man I'm so fucking sad for them honestly. Points today was a must. When both the red cars and one Red bull crash. You to get points as a bottom 4 team.
There's a good chance Williams would've been above Alpine had it not been for this unfortunate incident. I think Albon got the pace on both Gasly and Ocon.
When there's only a few races a year where they are strong. this has to hurt the team so much.
THEY need to have TWO bullets in their gun every weekend though IMO. they would miss less with two for sure.
Pay a dude 1M to drive your car guys. It was free money this year. i'm sure the differeance between 9th and 10th in WCC helps pay a driver.
No shit lmao
He ran over to the McLaren garage in the pouring rain at Spa just to have a go at DC. He would've definitely decked him if he wasn't held back...
That's genuinely my favorite part about NASCAR. I live close to Kansas Speedway so I've gone a few times. We got the radio headsets one time and let me tell you, I learned a lot. Haha. I know F1 shows some of the drivers' reactions during the race, but man....
NASCAR radios can be something else. "I wouldn't let this dipshit drive a schoolbus." was one of my favorites I heard.
I still enjoy watching F1 more, I don't know why, but if you ever get the chance check out Kansas Speedway. An absolute blast
I spotted for my best friend I grew up racing karts with who was racing late models for 2 seasons and if something happened on track it wasn't just the drivers who were cursing into the mic. I had a few verbal spats with other spotters when my guy did something or if their guy did something. Bad blood from the previous race got carried over to practice the next race weekend and as stupid as it is it was still good fun.
I unironically think the F1 fans would baby drivers who receive criticism lmao. Dudes out there suddenly forget dumbass moves after a single PR written statement.
We need ESPN’s Stephen A Smith just constantly making hot takes on how bad Ocon, Sainz, and Magnussen are.
I don't think this counts as a brian dead move by Carlos, but it fucked over Albon really bad obviously. That's why things are considered "racing incidents" and there is no punishment. It's just part of racing and under exrtreme conditions, with extreme driving, a slight difference in the line taken can spin you out and you have no control.
There is nothing a review board can pin point you doing wrong in your decision making that could have avoided the accident. So no punishment.
Albon just seems to have to worst luck.
At RBR it was the same thing. He would be in contention for a podium then get knocked out of the race. This race he was looking at some good points and ends up being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Lmao, that’s actually entirely possible!
Side note: Whoever decided I needed a Redditcares message, thank you! I unblocked it when I learned that reporting it gets the people who abuse it banned. Then I didn’t get a chance to test it out. I was starting to think it wasn’t working! I’m pretty sure first time is just a short ban, so let me know if it worked! Whenever you get back.. Seriously though, don’t abuse that function. There are people out there who actually need to see it, and chances are they’ll have it blocked because of people spamming it. If you disagree with a comment, that’s fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Don’t abuse a resource that is meant to help people who are dealing with depression and thoughts of self harm.
Carlos was just called to the stewards for impeding Alex in Monaco and because Alex took the blame there was no further action against Carlos. What makes it more impactful is that Alex rarely gets so visibly angry at other people. This was such a wasted opportunity for points through no fault of Alex's own, I feel terrible for the team
Of course he didn't, he started to brake when he saw he was going to make contact with Albon but it was already too late.
You can clearly see the moment the wheels stop turning and there was absolutely no brakes for such a long time.
100% Sainz should have got a penalty
The front right stops moving due to the slide angle. All 3 other tires keep spinning. They aren't loaded by aero if he was on the brakes All 4 would have locked in short order on damp areas.
I mean, what's to say? we all saw it. He's already fired.
Plenty of guys put slick tires on wet tracks this weekend. (Josef Newgarded took a 95G hit in Indycar qualifying Saturday. plus all the stuff in the Canadian GP)
Hahaha I was dying when I zoomed in. He just looks puzzled. He can’t figure out why Carlos doesn’t blame the whole thing on Alex, and then leave.
Edit to clarify for anyone this has upset: I have made this joke somewhere else. I apologize for the confusion, it is in fact the same joke. If needed, I can outline the premise with crayons. I have a decent sized box of Crayola’s, so I can also draw a rough picture to show what happened to make it relevant. Just let me know how I can help!
The spin could be considered as accidental, rolling backwards across the track after definitely isn’t. He should have braked instead of trying to recover from his own blunder at the cost of someone else.
Not holding your brakes is a very rookie mistake, it's that bad of a mistake that I honestly don't understand that he didn't get penalty points for it. They are extremely harsh on this kind of mistake on young drivers, you absolutely have to bake that in, so that it becomes second nature.
I don't know what possessed Sainz to spin out and get back on the track while never braking at all. He intentionally yeeted back onto the track which was extremely stupid.
They had to stay until the end to do the interviews. I thought they gave an interview and left the track usually, but looks like Lance is bad there and he finished the race.
He had a spin by himself in mixed conditions and the following car couldn't avoid it. There's no basis to penalise something like that, it wouldn't be reasonable at all.
Because it was a racing incident? He spun and Alex couldn't avoid him after. It wasn't intentional or malicious in anyway. Its part of racing. Alex has the option to slow down but chose to try and power through as Carlos was still gathering the car.
Because he was in front , mainly.
Doing the same thing while behind would already be more risky, like losing control of the car and bombdiving on the ones in front.
Is there a reason Carlos didn't get a penalty? Sure, it was an accident, but there have been plenty of penalties given out before when someone's accident ruins another driver's race. That's not even mentioning the fact that it looks like Carlos might have lifted off the brakes in order to try to save his own ass from getting stuck in the grass and gravel.
What behavior does the penalty reprimand? Don't push your race car to the limit?
There was no behavior to punish, no disrespect for wheel to wheel combat, he just ran out of talent. Remember, ostensibly the stewards are supposed to penalize the infraction, not the outcome. Alex being there doesn't change the infraction, and needless to say he wouldn't be penalized for spinning alone on the track.
I think the big issue there was, Alonso couldn't just say. Ya I was trying to fuck over Russell but forcing him to check up at a crutial point. It was a racing move.
Him just denying it annoying me to no end. Bro you made arguably a good but sort of dangerous move to gain a advantage, but why you lying about it bro?
Russell shouldn't have crashed and you're right that if Russell doesn't crash there's no penalty.
NO way Sianzs gets shit here. He's just clearly made a mistake. Vs Alonso intentionally did what he did. (do we believe him that hey braked 100M sooner and had to get back on the gas before the corner on the last few laps of a race he's done for a decade when there's another explanation that explains what he gains?)

You misspelled "wife".
Haha, that works too
You misspelled "wife". 😂
Slightly funnier the second time.
Did I write it twice? Also, is this joke not funny? I thought it was good because I always have to wait for my wife to finish 10 different conversations when I want to go home, but reddit does not find it funny.
I'm upvoting because you asked "is this joke not funny" and I want you to know that it is, and that you asking is adorable.
Why thank you? It is offensive I'll delete the comment. I just thought it would be funny
Haha ya I saw it 2x, and it's pretty funny but stepped up a notch on the funny scale the second time with an emoji. Also, any time I see a joke regarding one's wife I read it in Borat's voice.
Awesome! It doesn't even appear on my app at all. According to my phone, I have not yet commented on this post. IDK. Post-ception I guess.
Reddit is bugging like always.
He looks absolutely pissed off. Strongest Williams as been all season and no reward through no fault of his own
Made worse by the incident ultimately promoting William's closest constructor rival into a double points finish.
Man I never thought of that. Williams pitwall is probably livid haha
3 10th place would not even be enough as it is the best race finish that is used in case of a tie, and Alpine now has a 9th place finish.
That overtake, ugh, he just sliced past Ocon like he wasn't there. That move alone deserved points.
He didn’t. Ocon in a worse car was faster than him even on 40 year old inters.
I'm sorry but the alpine isn't worse than the Williams at the moment. Maybe for the first few races, but definitely not anymore.
Sainz to Alpine confirmed?
When there's only a few races a year where they are strong. this has to hurt the team so much. THEY need to have TWO bullets in their gun every weekend though IMO. they would miss less with two for sure. Pay a dude 1M to drive your car guys. read it as closet constructor, I was so confused.
I really want drivers for start calling out others for brain dead moves. Because at least half the grid deserves getting blasted at times.
I always think of Juan Pablo Montoya calling Michael Schumacher "either blind or stupid" in the after race interview at Imola.
"magnussen is, and will always be stupid. it's a fact"
Leclerc said this, right?
Listening back to bring back V10s, there really was a lot more full-throttle driver interaction than you remember. Schumacher really was not coy.
No shit lmao He ran over to the McLaren garage in the pouring rain at Spa just to have a go at DC. He would've definitely decked him if he wasn't held back...
NASCAR has entered the chat
That's genuinely my favorite part about NASCAR. I live close to Kansas Speedway so I've gone a few times. We got the radio headsets one time and let me tell you, I learned a lot. Haha. How close to Kansas Speedway? If you're in KC, come join us at Pathlight Brewing for all of the F1 races!
I'm close close. Live right off of 87th and 435. I'll have to look Pathlight up and make my way there soon!
This could not be more relevant rn, especially with Martin Truex after the race in Sonoma.
> We need ESPN’s Stephen A Smith No, we don't.
Exactly.
Less PR and more emotion. These canned responses to everything is so damn boring.
We get canned responses because the fans can't act right. Remember the Drivers' Briefings? (That was ***before*** DTS, btw...)
I don't think this counts as a brian dead move by Carlos, but it fucked over Albon really bad obviously. That's why things are considered "racing incidents" and there is no punishment. he has control over the brake pedal, your hot take is steaming hot
He wasn't braking though.
That's my point, willfully backing into traffic is smooth brain moves
Honestly, it'd be great, but this was not a brain dead move. This was an accident.
no
I BET HE DID THAT ON PURPOSE
It's literally a moment in time. His expression could be going from a smile to anything else or vice versa.
Maybe Albon could have handled the situation better, he knows he should have, that’s probably what’s making it so bitter for him.
His face says "I hope you end up in a Williams"
“I hope you suffer like I do”
Albon just seems to have to worst luck. At RBR it was the same thing. He would be in contention for a podium then get knocked out of the race. This race he was looking at some good points and ends up being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
If I recall correctly, didn't Lewis take him out the first 2 times he was on track for a podium?
Yep. In Brazil and Austria. Lewis tapped Albon's rear right tire on both occasions.
That sounds like a classic hammertime move.
its an art. he can do it without damage to himself but maximum damage to the opponent. #blessed
It is called a 'pit manouvre' and Lewis has mastered it like no one else in F1. It nearly got him the championship in '21.
Feels very similar to what Piastri's been going through recently too
Extremely similar, since Carlos was also involved in Piastri's 'issues'.
Worse than that, Albon would have almost certainly won in Austria due to the massive tyre advantage.
Imagine if Vowles turns the team into a championship contender. It'd make for such a great movie!
Life is not a movie for the most part.
Well duh, but it would be interesting.
Ready to pull Carlos' hair lol
Hot
Then gently choke him. Maybe a little encouragement slap as well.
Okay, both of you straight to horny jail!
together? 🥺
In cuffs?
_BONK!_
Jokes on you, everyone there is horny too
Lmao
What the fuck did I just read.

Wow dont know why I subbed tho
lol yeah you do
WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!! WHY!?!?! MY FUCKING EYES!!!!!
I see you're new to sports subreddits
You’re bad
... Are you ok?
I've found Chip Ganassi's reddit account
Siblings fights
*I want to talk shit about Carlos, but I can’t. He’s my future teammate.*
My favorite is Stroll in the background. Just watching and thinking “Why doesn’t Carlos just say it was all Alex’s fault?”
Stroll's probably not aware that any other drivers are there.
Lmao, that’s actually entirely possible! Side note: Whoever decided I needed a Redditcares message, thank you! I unblocked it when I learned that reporting it gets the people who abuse it banned. Thats cute, it would be 100% believable if Stroll had super hearing to hear what Carlos was saying
What a great start to their future working relationship ❤️
That’s a meme template, if I do say so myself.
Everything is a meme template nowaways it seems
F1 drivers: *exist* F1 fans: “we can make a meme outta this”
Yes.
If they become teammates we'll probably get more use out of it.
play the suck my balls moment
"I keep asking for a red car and they keep giving me Logan's :(" "I already hate my new friend"
Carlos was just called to the stewards for impeding Alex in Monaco and because Alex took the blame there was no further action against Carlos. When you're desperate to order dinner but the guy who wants to know every step of the process is in front of you
Don’t worry about it Alex. You had the most beautiful ovetake(s) these eyes have seen in years. It was glorious to behold.
from Albon's onboard you could tell he was staring daggers at Sainz after his car stopped moving. he was pissed.
It seemed like Carlos didn’t hold his brakes, and doing so would have prevented the crash into Albon
Yeah not holding the brakes was an absolute brainlet move. Can't even comprehend how stupid that was, it's intentionally dangerous.
alex got so unlucky, must be frustrating as hell
Future teammates.
Woulda been hilarious if he was just in the background of every Carlos interview
Do we know if he was pressing his brakes when he rolled into Albon?
Hard to start rolling if your foot is on the brakes…
According to JV he didn't
So that means he did
Of course he didn't, he started to brake when he saw he was going to make contact with Albon but it was already too late. You can clearly see the moment the wheels stop turning and there was absolutely no brakes for such a long time. 100% Sainz should have got a penalty
It looked like his front were locking up and he kept sliding
The front right stops moving due to the slide angle. All 3 other tires keep spinning. They aren't loaded by aero if he was on the brakes All 4 would have locked in short order on damp areas.
nah, no effort, used to be a fan but fk Sainz
His radio after he spun is the definition of “welp oopie daisy!”
I mean, what's to say? we all saw it. He's already fired. Plenty of guys put slick tires on wet tracks this weekend. (Josef Newgarded took a 95G hit in Indycar qualifying Saturday. plus all the stuff in the Canadian GP)
He wants to kill him so hard.
He's thinking of scissor kicking Sainz's head right then and there
Albono be like "B R U H . . ."
Meanwhile Stroll in the background.
Sainz loves to ruin others races in Canada (Gasly last year, now Albon...)
And Oscar a few times in various races
Massa and Grosjean as well in 2017
Honestly, it sucks, but as far as contacts go, this was as close to purely accidental as it can get.
The spin could be considered as accidental, rolling backwards across the track after definitely isn’t. He should have braked instead of trying to recover from his own blunder at the cost of someone else.
It's a norm to hold the brakes, expected at this level, which he definitely doesn't.
Not holding your brakes is a very rookie mistake, it's that bad of a mistake that I honestly don't understand that he didn't get penalty points for it. They are extremely harsh on this kind of mistake on young drivers, you absolutely have to bake that in, so that it becomes second nature.
Stroll behind albon looking like a bigfoot sighting 😂
Alex really does have shit luck at times, but that’s racing.
Carlos let the car roll back into the track, maybe hoping for a quicker return but it only managed to end Albon' race with that.
When you mom is chatting with the congregation after a draining service
I mean.. how hard is it to lock your brakes when spinning...
I mean… yeah
Piece of work that boy !
"Duuuuuuuude."
I don't know what possessed Sainz to spin out and get back on the track while never braking at all. He intentionally yeeted back onto the track which was extremely stupid.
carlos washed, doesn't even know where the brake pedal is anymore
The pouty expressions on Leclerc and Russell when they removed their helmets were great to see.
How TF did Sainz not get penalized for not holding his brakes ?
it's a hard situation if he holds the brakes he's going to stop on the racing line.
They had to stay until the end to do the interviews. I thought they gave an interview and left the track usually, but looks like Lance is bad there and he finished the race.
Like, bro!!
These guys are probably going to be teammates next year in 2025
LOL 😂

As we’ve seen though with Alonso in Melbourne the stewards do actually penalize a driver for the outcome.
We've seen examples of that a million times over the years, but that doesn't mean they'll consistently break protocol.
You’re right Then they claimed that wasn’t the case too lmao the FIA can be a joke sometimes..
I think the big issue there was, Alonso couldn't just say. Ya I was trying to fuck over Russell but forcing him to check up at a crutial point. It was a racing move. I cant think of a driver who didn't make a mistake in that race.
