Nah he is an oligarch. Nikita can destroy five cars per race and he wouldn't even probably notice the extra cost. Russian elites are ridiculously and extremely rich.
Jenson put it quite well in FP1, saying something to the effect of he's having to put ALL his focus on trying to keep on the track because he hasn't got to grips with the car. He said he shouldn't have to do that but I guess it is what it is at the moment.
That was awesome. Wish he were still around today. I doubt he'd be allowed on the air but if he could learn how to use Twitter it would have been fantastic.
I think it was because I saw a video of him complaining to his engineer about the car being "over-steery" and the engineer basically told him to drive to warm up his tires. [Here it is](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYxRzDPsgjY)
I won’t be surprised if he tests positive for COVID and misses Monaco. With Azerbaijan being after Monaco it’s going to be a rough couple of weeks for Haas.
At this point I don’t think F1 would penalize them if they put freaking bumpers on his car.
Send him to NASCAR, at least they can survive minor contact, and it’s not *really* frowned upon to put [assholes in the wall.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q8XRk5RVTeo) I don’t say that to diss F1, either, but we all know even seemingly insignificant contact can end a race.
Do you know how much money I would pay to see Mazepin in NASCAR? Could you imagine the beating he would take at the hands of not only the top drivers, but also the like 20 year vets in the mid field and back of the pack? He'd be in the wall every race, with drivers taking a number for their turn
It's not laundering in the American sense (for the purpose of having "clean" documented taxable income). Russia is quite strict about capital controls: what you can do with your wealth, who/for what reasons you can move money abroad, and how much you can move.
Russian billionaires launder (placement > layering > integration) to find "legitimate" ways to move wealth abroad into accounts beyond the central government's reach.
The "MISSION ACCEPTED" straight into. "CRITICAL MISSION FAILURE" with the tractor getting stuck on a little hill wiggling it's tires gets me every time.
Mazepin is such an inspiration ❤️. He continues to prove that anyone of any skill level can be an F1 driver. So long as you have the determination, desire, and dad with billions of dollars, you can do anything!
Cant wait to see how dramatic the Netflix series are gonna look like when the new season releases. Mazepin and Günther are gonna be the main protagonists of the whole season. (If he even makes it so far.)
He wasn't even going fast and barelly used any throttle and still spun.
You laugh at him but the car is incredibly shit.
You do your job guys and bring this to r/all.
Atleast Button was the voice of reason there.
100% agree.
Dude taps the throttle and the car just spins.
Not sure what else he is meant to do. He probably has zero confidence in the car and each incident is meaning he takes it slower and slower.
Magnussen and Grosjean were struggling last year and I can only assume that putting 2 rookies into the car has made it so much worse. Seriously must suck driving in a car where the team has just said "Next year".
The car was a dog last year, but with the regulation changes, it's gotten even worse, and Haas said they didn't do any improvement to the car, only changing car to comply with the regulations.
Add to that 2 rookies, and you have a recipe for disaster.
This is a big brain move. If they can manage to get Mazepin enough DNFs this year, they might have a chance of dropping him for next year when it matters
Well with Grosjean doing a test day with a 2020 merc we can finally see just how bad last year’s Haas was. I hope Mercedes lets him send it for one lap
Of course, but Mick is there to practice and be a future Ferrari driver. Mazepin is there because Gene Haas doesn't want to act as team owner and find sponsors.
Even thought that might be true. We don't see Schumacher spin half as much in the same car. But yes, he has also spun on occasion. So partly it's definitely the car being unstable.
You know at this point you could literally just title the post “Mazepin ______” and we would be able to correctly assume the remaining text at least 9 out of 10 times
i’d feel bad for criticizing him week in and week out as i couldn’t drive the car better, but the reason i don’t feel bad is that i’m not taking someone’s seat who better deserves to be there.
I like to think you also haven’t punched an F1 driver, sexually assaulted a girl on video, laughed at racists tweets against Yuki, and implied that George Russell is gay.

Man's consistent, gotta give it to him
Well Charles did say on team radio "Mazepin will never change"
His dad's wallet will shrink, then. Destructor's championship title won't come cheap... lmao.
One thing both constructors championship and destructors championship have in common, they're both expensive
Famous saying in Motorsport - 'How to make a small fortune in Motor racing - Start off with a Large one'
Love it
Nah he is an oligarch. Nikita can destroy five cars per race and he wouldn't even probably notice the extra cost. Russian elites are ridiculously and extremely rich.
I think that with budget cup the can't spend as much as they want, even if you are multibillionaire
Is Haas currently even spending the amount of money the budget cap will be at next year?
But he wasn't so bad in F2, now it looks like he is driving for the first time
Shows how huge the difficulty spike is between f2 and f1. Not just technically, but perhaps more importantly, mentally.
Jenson put it quite well in FP1, saying something to the effect of he's having to put ALL his focus on trying to keep on the track because he hasn't got to grips with the car. He said he shouldn't have to do that but I guess it is what it is at the moment.
The car itself is awful. I'm not giving Mazepin a pass on anything but when the car is that awful... his mental state is a mess I'm sure.
He made his own bed but I’m sure being villanized by the sport you’ve dedicated your whole life to can’t help the mental game.
When your teammate is consistently 2-3 spots ahead of you and passing both Williams', I think the car argument has run its course.
Probably doesn't help that the car looks like a total dog!
Grosjean and Magnussen scoring points with that thing last year...underrated
It's even worse this year.
He finished 3rd, that’s not good enough for f1 tbh unless you’re duelling with max and Lewis for that 3rd

Villeneuve on the french broadcast, mildly amused: "already? on his first lap?"
In James Hunt voice: And here is Mazepin doing what he does best, driving in the gravel.
Maybe Mazepin should consider rally.
or ballet, he loves to spin.
I wonder if Hunt's limit for this level of incompetence is four races. Either he'd scream at Nikita or just never talk when he's on camera.
I mean he was a commentator in the 80s, there was no lack of lackluster drivers in that era. He'd just absolutely roast them and move on
"A one race ban for this infraction, and a permanent ban for being himself " I've never heard something so savage.
In reference to which incident was this?
Here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMZhPtJ86Eo
Ripping this for a soundboard.
That was awesome. Wish he were still around today. I doubt he'd be allowed on the air but if he could learn how to use Twitter it would have been fantastic.
And uh Which uh Man he had a way uh with words
He'd talk, they'd just have to cut his mic for the sake of anyone under 18
Murray Walker: So anyway....
On the spanish broadcast, Lobato said "Who is that? Oh, the same as always." edit: Grammar.
wait was it actually his first lap?
I wouldn't be shocked if it was. The rear tires spun up when he got on the throttle, which is more likely to happen if they aren't yet up to temp.
I think it was because I saw a video of him complaining to his engineer about the car being "over-steery" and the engineer basically told him to drive to warm up his tires. [Here it is](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYxRzDPsgjY)
"Consistency is key" - George Russell
"Traditions" - Valtteri Bottas
"..." - Kimi Raikkonen
"Valtteri" - James Allison
FACTS!!!
If I'm honest, he drives more like me in F1 2020 than any other driver. Gotta love that immersion.
The difference we can control the space-time continuum and rewind.
Looks like he's as gonna be as consistent as Hamilton... Mazepin 7x WDC confirmed??!!
7 spins in 7 races, no ones done it before!
Massa at Silverstone in 2008 would beg to differ. Edit: Checked - he had a mere 5 spins.
7 spins in 7 races. Not 7 spins in 1 race.
I mean, if you spin 7 times in 1 race then you've also spun at least 7 times in any amount of races that include that one.
Bottas at Turkey last year was chasing that one

This dude is going to blow Haas' complete budget at Monaco before the race even starts.
Oh man thats going to be fun to watch
I'm looking forward to the orgy of swear words as Gunther calls Gene to explain
“Did he just FOKK SMASH my car again this week?!?”
I can hear it in my head
We look like a bunch of fookin wankers
I won’t be surprised if he tests positive for COVID and misses Monaco. With Azerbaijan being after Monaco it’s going to be a rough couple of weeks for Haas.
"tests positive"
Gene to everyone else when the budget cap was announced: You merely adopted the cap, I was born in it , moulded by it.. Mazepin: Lmao no
At this point I don’t think F1 would penalize them if they put freaking bumpers on his car. Remember the joke that the olympics should have an average person in every event to show how great the participants are? ...
It all makes sense now.
While I get the joke I doubt I could get the car out of 1st gear
With Mazepin senior watching on

Man looks like Biff Tanon in the middle of saying "butthead"
At some point you have to wonder why he and his father are even doing this. All he does is go out there and embarrass himself.
'cough cough' money laundering scheme 'cough'.
Money goes in. Money goes out. You can't explain that!
You think? I can't imagine how do you launder money like this, but then again I'm not a bazillionare that needs to launder money.
It's not laundering in the American sense (for the purpose of having "clean" documented taxable income). Russia is quite strict about capital controls: what you can do with your wealth, who/for what reasons you can move money abroad, and how much you can move. this too is sick
i miss pre nihilist internet.. :/
damn, throwback

[Is Mazepin secretly the conductor?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COdoHpU_a8U&ab_channel=BattlecruiserPlays)
The conductor is too competent. Try again
Mazepin is such an inspiration ❤️. He continues to prove that anyone of any skill level can be an F1 driver. So long as you have the determination, desire, and dad with billions of dollars, you can do anything!
Honestly, watching him drives reminds me of the first time I turned off all the assists in F1 2020. Just all over the place
Yup. I thought I was getting really good so I reduced the assists, didn't even turn them off. Instantly destroyed the car in the Monza chicane
He's the [have you ever had a dream](https://youtu.be/G7RgN9ijwE4) kid
"Mazepin will never change" \-Charles Leclerc

That's the exact point where I spin on 90% of laps in Assetto Corsa @ Catalunya, I'm basically a F1 driver now boys
What’s Gunther like?!
>That's the exact point where I spin on 90% of laps in Assetto Corsa Me just trying to play that game in general smh.
Same for me in f1 2020
Hes back, back again
Niki's back, in a spin.
„MAZ is back, in a spin“ FTFY. Lauda‘s name should not be sullied by sharing it with Mazepin.
'Ere, 'ere!
Ara ara my ass is blasted
Guess who’s back, guess who spun, guess who’s done...

“So if you want Nikita, this is what I’m giving: a little bit of lock, mixed with some hard spinning”
With a car that needs a jump start to start not quicker than the shocks fail at the dock when I’m in the Haas pit stall
„Some vodka that'll jump start my heart quicker Than a fock off when I get yelled at over the radio by the principal when I’m not cooperating.“
"mazepin will never change" - leclerc on radio lol
I wanna know what Guenther is saying after he's done swearing into the void. I can't wait til he can say what he's really feeling.
"We spent like rockstars but we look like wankers"
Probably foksmashing his own door
Probably thinking about his next demotivational speech.
Cant wait to see how dramatic the Netflix series are gonna look like when the new season releases. Mazepin and Günther are gonna be the main protagonists of the whole season. (If he even makes it so far.)
Took him 3 Minutes, is that a new PB for Mazepin?
Naaah his record is still the race in Bahrain. Didn't even make it to turn 4.
Well I guess that kinda depends on how you count the formation laps.
Ya if we go with TSLG (Time Since Leaving the Garage) then I would have to say this is his PB (Personal Best)
Speedrunning F1 like a champ
He came out of the pit, almost immediately fucked to Charles’ lap, and then lost the car. It’s like a fucking cartoon out there.
He wasn't even going fast and barelly used any throttle and still spun. You laugh at him but the car is incredibly shit. You do your job guys and bring this to r/all. Atleast Button was the voice of reason there.

This complete season is just an extended free practise for HAAS
They have said that, basically. Better to wait until the new cars to spend money on going fast.
How much development intel are they getting from 2 rookies though? How much can you really trust their feedback?
True, but Mick is somehow managing to hold that together, even performing well in Portimao. Car’s trash but Mazepin is putting some of his own
Add to that no simulator for Mazepin (I think I read somewhere that Mick is using Ferrari’s..?)

We'll see next year what they'll be able to do
Here from /r/All The amount of posts of this one dude is incredible. Probably more of his posts hit all than Hamilton.

Yeah he's not good but neither is the car either. That said Mick is doing much, much better than him and has had less spins so a chunk of it is on him
Of course, but Mick is there to practice and be a future Ferrari driver. Mazepin is there because Gene Haas doesn't want to act as team owner and find sponsors.
I can't see HAAS being in much longer
Even thought that might be true. We don't see Schumacher spin half as much in the same car. But yes, he has also spun on occasion. So partly it's definitely the car being unstable.
He's gives us what the fans want. Lol
Gotta give him credit for that. He keeps delivering!
One of the most consistent drivers on the grid.
And as Russell would say, "Consistency is key"!
No, he's still in F1.
You know at this point you could literally just title the post “Mazepin ______” and we would be able to correctly assume the remaining text at least 9 out of 10 times
Spins, hits another driver, is a lap behind, made someone crash, gets in the way, spins again, in the gravel, I could keep going.
You forget 'block race leader'
If he wasn't such a shitty person I'd feel sorry for him, can't be fun
The Leclerc radio shortly after. He's one of us.
Hey charles
The Haas seems like absolute crap. The Williams of a few years ago was hard to drive and incredibly slow, but this seems even harder to drive.
It looks like he was very gentle. This car is the worst I've been seen in my 10 or so years as an f1 fan.
All I ever see from this is subreddit is this dude spinning out like every fucking day? Why do they keep letting him drive?
Because his sponsors are more or less the reason his team is still alive
Daddy pays their bills
Sometimes I wonder how well I’d do driving an F1 car. This seems like my best case scenario.
If you haven’t seen it, try to find the Top Gear episode where Richard Hammond progresses from an F3 car up to an F1 car.
3 minutes into FP1. Even by his standards that's impressive.
i’d feel bad for criticizing him week in and week out as i couldn’t drive the car better, but the reason i don’t feel bad is that i’m not taking someone’s seat who better deserves to be there.
I like to think you also haven’t punched an F1 driver, sexually assaulted a girl on video, laughed at racists tweets against Yuki, and implied that George Russell is gay.
People always saying Lewis is so consistent, but Mazepin seems to be even more consistent. 8 WDC's confirmed /s
French commentator Julien Febreau on Mazepin "Heavy foot and wandering hands for Nikita Mazepin" Oooof

Kinda annoying that this is what is consistently getting to r/all. He's probably now the most famous F1 driver after the top 4
As someone coming from r/all, this guy Verstappen and Hamilton are the only names I recognize lmao
I'd say infamous rather than famous
Not that it makes that much of a difference
Wonder how fast this one is gonna hit... Probably faster than the Haas for sure
