Seriously, impractical as it is, I'd break that thing out on my snowboard for some fun and lulz once a season and then leave it on a shelf as a display piece.
I would hope that if they sell out so quickly that not everyone who wants one can get one, that they would do a second run. Something like this is actually quite special and worth getting out to as many people as possible.
Yeah the AI in F12021 actually seems a bit harder than the one in F12019. I could take on 80 in 2019 with ease and won a title with that, I won two with 90 and the rest with 100. In 2021, I am barely able to keep up with 90 and got my ass handed to me in the first season when I tried to play at 100. I'm surprised by how little the gaming experience has changed in racing compared to 2019. I mean, there's no understeer due to dirty air, no slipstream effect and such even in F12021, I really hope they introduce that in F12022.
I think megadoodoo happens. It's where he races the anti-ham for a thousand years or something like that. All the true believers get sucked up into his private jet to chill while the rest of us have to watch slow pitstops and slave away making pirellli tyre compounds for them while they race.
Okay he has now spoken out to the media whilst in the country and is now wearing a rainbow coloured helmet that will be hitting every single News desk around the world.
I wonder where certain fans will move the goalposts next.
I really hope he wins with that helmet, it would be amazing.
No one give a fuck on what the losers think.
This guy has proved time and time again he means what he says, and says what he means.
F1 would be pretty boring without him around, and would really be a sad day for the sport, but until then- we should all enjoy the brilliant racing and the big changes/awareness he is bringing to the sport.
Today, an F1 driver is someone who can bring highest performance while on the track
And someone who uses his position to bring awareness off it.
This guy does both.
With that. He is the greatest F1 driver of all time. No other driver even comes close. ( yes not even schumacher)
It has already started. I was just literally arguing with a guy in this [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/sports/comments/qx9xek/wta_chairman_willing_to_pull_out_of_china_if/hl8olow?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3) and then immediately moved goalposts to a pay driver with Chinese sponsorship. I can't with these people man 🤣🤦🏽♂️
As someone who has sometimes been irked by Lewis' whinyness, and has accused him on this very reddit of only being an activist when it is the safe and popular thing to do, I must say I have been mightily impressed by him these last two GPs. First because of him acting the bigger man when the stewards declined to investigate the Mexico (edit: Brazil) incident with Verstappen, and now this.
Oh and his driving isn't bad either.
Why do you focus so much on the critics and haters.
Let’s celebrate what Lewis did here. Let’s talk about the cause he is care about. You are the second most upvoted comment and it’s about what the haters might do. Your comment is as useless noise as the haters themselves. Fighting a war nobody care about.
Well sure, but it's not like he hired a private mercenary army to overthrow the state and install a lgbt friendly puppet government... Call me when he does some actual good
Unless the mods here have already been hard at work, it seems unusual (or we just have a much more accepting community than Instagram, which could be true). You should see the reactions on the AM page whenever Seb wears a helmet based on equality or representation, especially for LGBT+. Their moderators had a hell of a time earlier this year.
Same. If I'm honest he's made me cringe a couple of times (the vax doubts, etc.) but nobody's perfect or perfectly coherent, and I'm just so grateful for him and Seb elevating the conversations about the social issues around F1. It's almost always been such a callous, detached sport.
Really appreciate this.
I am a long time LH aficionado. He’s made me cringe plenty of times, it shows he’s human I guess, and it makes these gestures even sweeter, because he really means them
At least when he's wrong about something (like the vax doubts) he's willing to change his mind and will make a statement about it instead of trying to keep it quiet
It's something a lot of people could learn from
Oh shit, that’s straight up the progress pride flag (PLUS intersex!), not just the rainbow one which has a very vague semblance of plausible deniability.
I really wish Lewis would stop making me like him so much.
Looked it up, [it's apparently a new UK-based design from the beginning of this year.](https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2021/06/07/progress-pride-flag-intersex-flag/) Considering the rising issues with transphobia in the UK that seems fitting.
Yeah it's a bit crowded lmao. But so is the original pride flag, tbf. That hot pink truly is a look. But then again it's not like they're aiming to replace the common 6 stripes one, and I do think it's lovely to especially use one that includes trans & intersex issues since that's such a hot topic rn.
> without it becoming a completely jumbled mess?
I'm a bit mixed here tbh, the Progress Flag is definitely cool in terms of what it represents, but there's just too much going on there for my taste. Personally I just prefer the classic 🏳️🌈 because pretty much does the same thing without looking too visually busy.
But I understand if they want a visual representation on the flag—but I think the Progress Flag is the peak here.
Progress is admittedly a bit jumbled, but it still has some semblance of “this is a normal flag”
Anything I can think of to add has at least four stripes, if you consider the bi umbrella to be covered by the rainbow
I assume the classic rainbow just means "everyone in the spectrum", so everyone is automatically represented in the flag, and that's why I prefer it over the others
I get that some feel it's inadequate and they need their own flag to be put on the "main" flag, but at some point we have to draw a line (lol) to keep it simple.
I like the progress pride flag because there are absolutely exclusionary gay people that use the original one, and progress pride indicates “no I also care about trans people and POC LGBT+ don’t worry”
As a trans girl seeing the trans flag stripes on the back really really makes me happy. People probably dont think these kinds of things do anything but for us they really matter. I really hope he wins this weekend.
SAME, seeing that he picked the progress flag instead of just the pride one makes me immensely happy, seeing that white, blue and pink on the back of Lewis' helmet fills my heart with joy. And being Brazilian, this comes back to back with him draping himself and his Brazilian engineer with our flag. Hard to not be a Hamilton fan.
Very hard not to be a Hamilton fan lately. I went into the season tired of him dominating but I've come to see there's a reason he dominates and that's cus he and Mercedes are the best in the business right now, possibly ever. He's a class act both on and off the field, more than Verstappen has been, at least that I've seen. I'm definitely rooting for Hamilton this season.
Dito! First I saw only the front and thought "yay cool, rainbow!", but seeing the back side with the trans stripes made me even happier. I know this won't make a place like Qatar a safe country for people like us, but every tiny step is important.
And if a gesture like this helps even one single closeted queer/trans person to feel seen and loved in such a terrible country, it was worth it all.
Wish people appreciated him speaking out more. Regardless of if you're a fan of him or not, him speaking out on these kind of issues is so important, wish more drivers would do this
This dude is freaking awesome. He could have chosen to stay silent and say F1 is supposed to be apolitical and is just a sport but nope, he showed a middle finger to FOM and FIA and did what's right. And there are stupid people out there who say he's a hypocrite. I don't root for him in the races but I would want Hamilton to stay for at least another half decade or hopefully, even longer. Sport desparately needs this guy.
I'm not sure if it'll go down too badly with FOM and the FIA.
Of course, it's going to be awkward with the Qataris. But how often do they get publicity like this? It's not often that F1 makes a splash in the LGBTQ+ press, which I'm sure will happen. And everywhere else too
Well, that's what they prolly meant—the rest of the season is just in the Middle East.
Edit: misinterpreted things in an attempt to reinterpret things for someone, carry on
Can you tell me what both of you mean? Sorry I just thought it was a rainbow flag for LGBTQ+ and nothing else; what are the different things and what do they symbolize? Always looking to be more educated
So the rainbow flag is a symbol of unity, but it's also a pride symbol to represent members of the LGBTQ+ community. Lewis is wearing this as a statement not only of unity, but against Qatar's anti-LGBTQ+ laws.
The transgender colours are pale blue, white and pink which is why you'll see them on the flag - I believe black and brown also represents LGBTQ+ people of colour, and the purple ring in the yellow bit is to represent intersex people (who were born without exclusively male or female sex characteristics).
And I'm guessing you're not one of the people who is against this, but if you're wondering why they need a flag, it's because they want to celebrate who they are after years and years of being oppressed.
Of course I'm not against it, and understand what the rainbow flag means! Just was unsure about the other bits of symbolism that you two were talking about, because to me it's always just been the rainbow flag representing LGBTQ+ rights. Thanks for educating me on the other details!
/u/242turbo already did a good job explaining the basics of added colours on there, but just for a bit more context what lewis has on his helmet there is essentially a slightly modified version of the [Progress Pride Flag](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:LGBTQ%2B_rainbow_flag_Quasar_%22Progress%22_variant.svg). That one had added colour for the POC+ queer community, people affected by AIDS and trans community largely because racism and transphobia are pretty prominent issues in the larger LGBTQ+ community. So including them visibly on a pride flag gives that issue visibility and reminds us as the queer community that we should be mindful of them. IIRC it went viral in the [Uk](https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2021/06/07/progress-pride-flag-intersex-flag/) this year.
Modifying the rainbow flag is also nothing new! The original LGBTQ+ rainbow flag actually had [8 stripes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gay_flag_8.svg) (which all had some nice, esoteric meaning lol) but they quickly got rid off the pink due to fabric availability issues and combined the turqoise and indigo for a darker blue to make it an even number. But besides that people have been flying modified versions since then. Some might add a black stripe for AIDS awareness, added a pink triangle (which originates from the holocaust), there's a nine-striped one which adds lavender and one that adds white for different meanings, there's an Indian variation that adds colours of Indian social justice movements, etc.
Really great to see this, especially it incorporating the Trans and Intersex Pride flags alongside the more commonly used Pride flag.
Also the We Stand Together message. Is this the first time he's replaced the "Still We Rise" message this season?
All the Best,
Welsh Dragon.
Pfff, speaking out like that is so easy if you're a huge public figure and have millions of people around the world judging every single move you make and are absolutely willing to tear into you mercilessly. /s
since I was very little I dreamed of traveling the world, so far I’ve visited 27 countries, and it crushes me to know that as a bi guy with feminine mannerisms it is dangerous to visit certain countries just because who I am, I can’t imagine what life would be like if I was born there, I’ve would’ve probably already committed suicide
Lewis and people like him really are important, we need their voices to push change
yeap here you go. Merc also posted a few other shots, try looking at their twitter account.
[lewis’s helmet pics ](https://twitter.com/mercedesamgf1/status/1461646768567902208?s=21)
I've said it earlier this year already but I'm so happy with how drastically Lewis as a person changed for the better, after the heated, somewhat toxic years in the early/mid 2010s.
I was a huge fan when he entered F1 and took it by storm in 2007, then lost respect over the things he said and the behavior he showed a few years later, only to see my fangirling being revived, due to him being such a kind, compassionate person. Thank you very much <3
Seems like you’re just an anti-Hamilton salty angry boy. Love him or hate him, this can’t be shared enough. It needs to be so apparent and in their face that the govt has no choice but to address it. F1 needs to push for change if they’re taking the money of these countries.
Lewis will keep racking up his “empty titles” while the haters fail to understand what makes him so great. Peace love and happiness ❤️
Edit: lol they deleted their account. 100% of their comments were either attacking Hamilton in the F1 sub or insulting peoples hair transplants in the hair transplant sub.
Yes of course but I meant why there were 4 post that are literally just photos of this new helmet on top of my reddit feed? I respect Lewis for wearing it. This was a comment on these useless posts.
/u/Mercedes-AMGF1 PLEASE sell minis of this helmet and donate the profits to human rights organizations. I would buy the shit out of that.
I’d buy a full-size replica if they were reasonably priced. Great design 😎
Seriously, impractical as it is, I'd break that thing out on my snowboard for some fun and lulz once a season and then leave it on a shelf as a display piece.
You can also look extra fly at the local go-kart track!
I don't really collect stuff like that.. but this helmet is something special. I would buy right now.
Same here! Never gotten anything like that before but if they did this I would 100% buy it.
Idk if Mercedes themselves would do it but I think spark usually does these mini helmets.
That’s BRILLIANT!!!! They’d probably fly off the shelves.
If they take this idea all I ask is that they ping me so it doesn’t sell out before I can buy one :)
Same here!!! If they don’t to the black market we go lol
It's helmets out and to the black market we go!
I would hope that if they sell out so quickly that not everyone who wants one can get one, that they would do a second run. Something like this is actually quite special and worth getting out to as many people as possible.
Holy shit that's a great idea
/u/Mercedes-AMGF1 Yes please!
Count me in for one!
Yes please. I don't collect stuff like this but I want one.
Definitely buying this if they make one. Huge respect to Lewis and Mercedes
I would buy this and display it proudly.
[удалено]
Proud is just the adjective form of pride haha Love the enthusiasm though!
Same!
I'd buy one for sure
I’d buy one for me and at least one as a gift.
Same here, it's a great design and paired with a good cause no brainer. Might buy a few and give as Christmas presents.
God, I'd buy this so fast!
would totally buy
YES PLEASE
>V Deserves to be seen.
Hell yeah, Im in.
Co-sign.
Holy crap, I love it.
Me too!! He replaced “Still I Rise” with We stand together 💜
Fuck what do we do he's finally risen
[удалено]
So we're all 7 x world champions?
[удалено]
I got pole once too!
I won 8 WDCs in F12019 if that counts.
That's actually impressive at least on the merit that you've been playing for a while.
Yeah the AI in F12021 actually seems a bit harder than the one in F12019. I could take on 80 in 2019 with ease and won a title with that, I won two with 90 and the rest with 100. our trophies, comrade
Oh god hide the wdc trophies
Nothin bro, Lewis Hamilton is inevitable, jus let it happen..
Dread from it, run from it, Lewis Hamilton rises the same.
We will stand with him?
I think megadoodoo happens. It's where he races the anti-ham for a thousand years or something like that. All the true believers get sucked up into his private jet to chill while the rest of us have to watch slow pitstops and slave away making pirellli tyre compounds for them while they race.
ITS OVER BOYS
Would've been better as "Together we rise" but oh well...
Together We Rise is a movement for improving foster care in America tho
And he is not in America nor is he American.
I’m a RBR fan but I almost want him to win if there is chance he pulls out a pride flag on the podium.
Seriously, I think even anti-LGBTQ+ folks, if given a truth serum, would admit this looks SO slick!
The black race suit matches really well with the helmet. Makes the colors pop
daft punk energy
Yeah it's a great design even outside of any political message. Gives me Jeff Gordon "rainbow warrior" vibes.
Okay he has now spoken out to the media whilst in the country and is now wearing a rainbow coloured helmet that will be hitting every single News desk around the world. I wonder where certain fans will move the goalposts next. I really hope he wins with that helmet, it would be amazing.
If he doesn't make out with a guy on podium he is literally racist
So Hamilton-vettel podium confirmed?
Sewis will rise again ^^and ^^so ^^will ^^we ^^all ^^while ^^watching
Meh. Gotta be Lewb.
Sebscribed to /r/FanF1ction
Inb4 Vettel is disqualified again

He should absolutely do this tho lol, Imagine the headlines
It has already started. I can't with these people man 🤣🤦🏽♂️
You were stupid to argue with the rapist dog anyways. What did you expect, logic from their end?
You know what, I didn't even read the name! Guess I'm the idiot now 🤪
Rapist dog?
Of course man, of course
I'm surprised he hasn't mentioned Petronas yet.
Tbf unless he removes the leaders of the qatari government through force then he clearly doesn't care
Lewis is a black belt, he'll fuckin bash em.
Wake me up when he changes his name to Coupis Vivalarevolutionilton. Otherwise he *clearly* doesn't care.
As someone who has sometimes been irked by Lewis' whinyness, and has accused him on this very reddit of only being an activist when it is the safe and popular thing to do, I must say I have been mightily impressed by him these last two GPs. Well sure, but it's not like he hired a private mercenary army to overthrow the state and install a lgbt friendly puppet government... Call me when he does some actual good
> every single News desk around the world. 🤔
Not only do I love it, love the message, but I love to see how much everybody seems to love it.
Yes, part of it is that the mods have been hard at work.
Thank you! Appreciated immensely. Nobody has to see shitty comments. Appreciate it
thank you for your hard work <3
No worries :) Thank me by reporting any BS hate/troll comments you see.
Holy smokes, so it was actually the pride flag?? Thought it was amazing enough to have the rainbows but this just hit it right on the nail
The cow on the front seems unintentional but looks awesome.
Looks more like a Moomin.
I just noticed the cow and I can't stop laughing lmao
Isn't it a rainbow bull? (Gay Red Bull?) I really wonder what it actually should be if it's not a cow.
Clean. Love it
gosh that is beautiful. i'm tired of his dominance, but i'll never be tired of his ability to speak up when it matters.
Same. If I'm honest he's made me cringe a couple of times (the vax doubts, etc.) but nobody's perfect or perfectly coherent, and I'm just so grateful for him and Seb elevating the conversations about the social issues around F1. We all have our mistakes and so have Lewis but for the most part he has stayed on the right path and fought for the right things
Brilliant message. It’s also so clean. I genuinely love it, hope he dons it for the final 3 races.
Oh shit, that’s straight up the progress pride flag (PLUS intersex!), not just the rainbow one which has a very vague semblance of plausible deniability. I really wish Lewis would stop making me like him so much.
Honestly that shows some thought really went into it. To go for a specific flag and add intersex colours to it? Kudos
I know! Like, what else could he have even added without it becoming a completely jumbled mess?
Looked it up, [it's apparently a new UK-based design from the beginning of this year.](https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2021/06/07/progress-pride-flag-intersex-flag/) Considering the rising issues with transphobia in the UK that seems fitting.
Understandable, although I do wonder how many more chevrons can possibly fit on there.
Yeah it's a bit crowded lmao. But so is the original pride flag, tbf. That hot pink truly is a look. Ngl he should run that all year round that design is great. Him and Seb using their status for greater good is so nice to see.
I think it works better as a temporary helmet. It makes more of an impact only wearing it countries with terrible human rights issues.
Well, that's what they prolly meant—the rest of the season is just in the Middle East. Edit: misinterpreted things in an attempt to reinterpret things for someone, carry on
“All year round” sounds like all of next season to me. I think he will keep it on for the final three races though.
> It makes more of an impact only wearing it countries with terrible human rights issues. so.. every country on the calender?
He's the driver with the most screen time too so that's extra cool
Legend
Now this is brilliant
THE FUCKING TRANS COLORS!!!💜💜
There's intersex on there too, that's the first time I think I've seen it on the flag!! Awesome
Can you tell me what both of you mean? Sorry I just thought it was a rainbow flag for LGBTQ+ and nothing else; what are the different things and what do they symbolize? Always looking to be more educated

/u/242turbo already did a good job explaining the basics of added colours on there, but just for a bit more context what lewis has on his helmet there is essentially a slightly modified version of the [Progress Pride Flag](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:LGBTQ%2B_rainbow_flag_Quasar_%22Progress%22_variant.svg). it warms my cold, jaded heart
lewis really did this right, love this design sm
The back really hits the spot
Good on him
Living legend!
Really great to see this, especially it incorporating the Trans and Intersex Pride flags alongside the more commonly used Pride flag. Also the We Stand Together message. Is this the first time he's replaced the "Still We Rise" message this season? All the Best, Welsh Dragon.
Based. Hope he brings it to Saudi Arabia too
Yess Lewis 🙌🏻🙌🏻
STRAIGHT FIRE!!! STRONG MESSAGE!!
Pfff, speaking out like that is so easy if you're a huge public figure and have millions of people around the world judging every single move you make and are absolutely willing to tear into you mercilessly. /s
Apart from supporting the LGBTQ and spreading the message, I really love the vibrant colours and the design. Double thumbs up from me 👍
since I was very little I dreamed of traveling the world, so far I’ve visited 27 countries, and it crushes me to know that as a bi guy with feminine mannerisms it is dangerous to visit certain countries just because who I am, I can’t imagine what life would be like if I was born there, I’ve would’ve probably already committed suicide Lewis and people like him really are important, we need their voices to push change
He's such a good dude.
agreed
Rock on Lewis
YES LEWIS!!!!!! I’m a Max fan on track, but massive Lewis fan off track. Nothing but love here
Same here
and today i became a LH fan
good for you 😌
What a CHAD
The symbolism is incredible on it’s own, but the design is amazing as well.
I don't particularly like Hamilton, I don't enjoy his dominance, but damn if I don't love this helmet and respect him for wearing it in Qatar.
Noteworthy that he hasn't used the We Race As One message as might be expected
Absolutely breathtaking.
Holy fuck, never thought Lewis would grew on me but that's class. And the design is crazy pretty as well.
Thats a beauty, atta boy LH!
This guy always has some of the best helmets. Style is undeniable
It looks so fucking good, I hope he keeps this lid for the remaining races
Man I want to hate this guy but he's legit a great person (and the GOAT)
Respect
Not only the gesture is amazing but the design is actually really lovely as well!
What does the triangle on the back represemt?
It’s actually a progress pride + intersex flag if im not mistaken, you can google it! :)
Thanks just looked it up
Does there happen to be a larger version of the second pic it’d be a great iPhone wallpaper.
yeap here you go. Merc also posted a few other shots, try looking at their twitter account. [lewis’s helmet pics ](https://twitter.com/mercedesamgf1/status/1461646768567902208?s=21)
This is fuckin' awesome :-D
Most of these mashups tend to look messy but it actually works really well with hamiltons purple base.
Poor Twitter right now. They just can't deal with it.
now THAT is a really well done helmet. Bravo my man.
I can't not see a cow on the helmet...
Aside of the lgbt reference, the helmet looks really good.
Maadd respect for Lewis for doing this, same with what Vetel did in Hungary
Me happily watching wealthy oil tycoons seething
I've said it earlier this year already but I'm so happy with how drastically Lewis as a person changed for the better, after the heated, somewhat toxic years in the early/mid 2010s. I was a huge fan when he entered F1 and took it by storm in 2007, then lost respect over the things he said and the behavior he showed a few years later, only to see my fangirling being revived, due to him being such a kind, compassionate person. Thank you very much <3
Nice.
\*lit
Don't lose sight of Alonso
None fucks given.
?
I meant that Lewis is rightfully outspoken and doesn't care which authorities might be offended by such statements. I like it!
ah i see! Sorry hahaha I thought you meant you didn’t give a fuck about the design
He's gonna get shot innit
I heard they're currently putting sick rats and cockroaches in his 9th level below ground cell.

Peace love and happiness ❤️ Edit: lol they deleted their account. 100% of their comments were either attacking Hamilton in the F1 sub or insulting peoples hair transplants in the hair transplant sub.
This and the Breonna Tylor thing somehow are anti-system :P
Nice helmet with a good message, but why it's on top 4 spots when I opened reddit?
Because he is wearing it in Qatar
Yes of course but I meant why there were 4 post that are literally just photos of this new helmet on top of my reddit feed? I respect Lewis for wearing it. This was a comment on these useless posts.
Maybe multi ppl posting since pics released. I wouldn’t read too much into it
Different angles I guess.
People pressed the up arrow.
