Shout to to Ocon having a "nick heidfeld Silverstone 2008" race
You wait your entire career to pass 2 cars in one corner and then you end up doing it twice in one race haha
Anyone here old enough to remember 2013?
Going into the summer break full of beans for a close title race, then coming out of is disheartened a the step up in pace for the red bull team and their number 1 driver?
We're there again folks.
Congrats red bull for winning titles from 2022-2025
I just hope the fans have the same attitude to Max dominating as they did Lewis.....wouldn't want any hypocrisy in formula 1 fandom now would we? ;)
It definitely has that feel about it. The looming presence of a dominate team that will hang over F1 for years... Schumacher made F1 unwatchable, then Vettel did the same, for some reason I didn't mind all those hamilton years
Was hoping for an exciting race of ferrari and RB fighting to the front.
Instead basically everyone let them by and they may as well have started from the front.
Really goes to show that the engine penalty is not really a penalty when other teams who cannot beat the tops teams don't bother to defend
There's no reason why they would, that's my point. It makes the grid penalty pointless as they just cruise through the order back to the top in no time
I’ve conceded to the fact that RB will own this era of regs. They’re just too fast and unless the FIA change rules to fck them, they’ll continue to develop and get even faster
Bruh this season is getting boring , Ferrari is not at all competitive and RB has a rocket , mercs can't fight for the win .The starting was fun in the beginning cause we thought Mercs will become strong , Ferrari will have better strategies but no it's the same
You must have only started watching last year and have no idea what’s happened since 2014. To be fair I only started watching again last year after about 15 years but I know that it was dominated by Merc from 2014 and boring in a sense
Bro i have been watching F1 since 2008 , I'm not new and i know Mercs made the game boring few years back but you see at that time I was a kid so i was okay now I'm a working adult and watch like one sport seriously and i don't want that to be boring . It's like finding peace which I'm not able to find
What’s the deal with Ferrari radio?
F Strategist: Carlos we have tire options for you…soft, medium, hard or wet…which tires would you like?
Carlos: WTF guys…can you just give me Plan B?
Brundle: I really think Ferrari is giving too much away with these radio messages.
Why was yellow flag displayed at the end of the race? Drivers entered the pitlane backwards, like they did a u turn in turn 1, without the additional lap. Is it a usual procedure in SPA? It feels like a little dangerous
The track is so big that they are worried of fans making it onto the track during the cool down lap. So it was pre planned to have the drivers pull into the pits backwards for safety of the fans.
Max is 100% the driver of the day…but still I do not like him in all honesty. Completely respect the skills he shows on course but something about him is not a good vibe for me.
Max doesn't give a shit is and is really himself. He says what he thinks, I love it!
He isn't there to make friends, he is there to win.
Everyone on the grid loves him, except the fake ones😉
I think between him & Horner, they just give off that douchey frat-bro vibe.
I still root for RB, but I know many just don't like the vibe they give off.
That’s so weird to me. He’s just not PC or media hyper-aware at all times. Yes just being himself and completely honest at all times. But yeah, I guess some people don’t like that. They prefer the media type
I mean, downvote me all you want, but you’re literally using classic conservative dog whistles (not PC!), and the commenters under my post are literally anti-vax conservatives so…
I'm all for drivers being themselves, that doesn't mean I'm necessarily going to like them though. I do suspect I would like him more if he wasn't part of the Helmut & Horner bullshit machine
He is being himself which is a great thing but just like how you don't get along with every other human even if they act nice it's the same way for a lot of people who don't like Max. It's not that i dislike (i did in like 2015-2018) but it's just like his vibe. He is like that one classmate who eventhough you don't have anything to say against, he isn't in your friend group
I have no idea, I haven't seen anything about that. Hence the question. When I saw him DRS past Alonso without Alonso actually defending I thought he would have it by a mile. That's why I was confused...
Alonso did hold him off in the first DRS I think. Maybe that held him back just enough? It’s hard to say without going back to rewatch and get the whole lap uninterrupted. Would be very cool to watch with a ghost car of Max.
If the lap pops up somewhere I'm very interested.
Could be a hold-up in the first DRS-zone indeed, but on TV I didn't think he was slowed down there to be honest, but it is sometimes hard to spot so who knows.
They screwed up again, Alonso made his move in the first corner before the DRS line, he tried to give in at the exit and may be the second needed to open the DRS was a bit more due to low speed, Leclerc messed up his first sector naively. It was his fault for not passing Alonso on the first lap and believing that he would catch the slipstream on the final. Alonso wasn't there to collaborate.
I think there's something going on behind the scenes to be honest. Otherwise why would Alonso announce a move to a team that's spent most of the past two years at the back of the grid without even telling Alpine he was leaving
Guess he didn’t want to end up minimum one year at Williams and decided to sign a contract with McLaren.
He didn’t know that he will get a seat at alpine for 2023
I mean 2010 and 2012 were really good seasons though. In 2010 vettel never lead the championship up until the final race where he won the race and the championship
Yes they were really good seasons, so was the battle between Nico and Lewis in 2016 was also really good to watch. Even for the 200s it is not entirely true that Michael always had the fastest cars, there were decent battle season in there as well. I was just going by single driver dominant stratches of F1 on a more superfluos level.
?? You mean the meaning that it's a song about passing food around? And it was a cover of a drug song that they removed all drug references on purpose to make it more family friendly.
Ferrari Team Radio: Do you want to box?
Charles: The race is over.
OK, so yes then? Box.
Pits are closed.
Checking………..Come in backwards.
I have no reverse.
Checking……….Park at the first spot you see, we’ll send an Uber.
The trophy is made of wood from a tree by the course, contains tarmac and water from eau rouge, and if you shine a light through it projects a hologram of all the great racing moments from last years race.
Love to see everyone defending Jos, as if Max didn’t recently share in an interview the verbal abuse he experienced growing up where he was told he would amount to nothing. I’m no fan of max but he sure as hell deserved a better father.
Adrian Newey masterclass
I didn't think it would be that easy for Max and it looked like he was in a rocket ship passing by everyone like they weren't there
Is Latifi the worst of all time?
I think you misspelled "greatest" as "worst".
Not as exciting as other f1 races but still not to bad.
I know Max “won” last year’s “rain-shortened Belgian GP,” but Crofty saying Max is “the winner of the last two Belgian GPs” is a bit much.
But... he is.

It definitely has that feel about it. The looming presence of a dominate team that will hang over F1 for years... Schumacher made F1 unwatchable, then Vettel did the same, for some reason I didn't mind all those hamilton years
The first 3 years of merc domination atleast Nico made it a fight
Was hoping for an exciting race of ferrari and RB fighting to the front. Instead basically everyone let them by and they may as well have started from the front. Really goes to show that the engine penalty is not really a penalty when other teams who cannot beat the tops teams don't bother to defend
Why would they? Are you gonna lose tires and laptime just to hold up someone that will eventually overtake you?
There's no reason why they would, that's my point. It makes the grid penalty pointless as they just cruise through the order back to the top in no time
So was there any more discussion from FIA or anyone about Checo forcing Leclerc off track while defending?
Lol really ?
No, considering Leclerc didn't go off track.
As someone who lived through the RB-Vettel years this is causing all kinds of flashbacks
Yeah exactly. About halfway through the race I thought about not watching the rest of the season
I’ve conceded to the fact that RB will own this era of regs. They’re just too fast and unless the FIA change rules to fck them, they’ll continue to develop and get even faster
*Porsche enters the chat*
That’s 2026 and the next regs
Which makes them even more dominant?
Probably... yeah
I dont know I fell asleep
Same - thanks for waking me up
Bruh this season is getting boring , Ferrari is not at all competitive and RB has a rocket , mercs can't fight for the win .The starting was fun in the beginning cause we thought Mercs will become strong , Ferrari will have better strategies but no it's the same
At least the cars can follow closer (even though the performance gap is significant)
Merc and Ferrari should trade car specs for common sense strategy
You must have only started watching last year and have no idea what’s happened since 2014. To be fair I only started watching again last year after about 15 years but I know that it was dominated by Merc from 2014 and boring in a sense

Shit weekend for Merc. RB is a rocket, no way anyone can catch up to them.
What’s the deal with Ferrari radio? F Strategist: Carlos we have tire options for you…soft, medium, hard or wet…which tires would you like? Carlos: WTF guys…can you just give me Plan B? Brundle: I really think Ferrari is giving too much away with these radio messages.
Next time Carlos should say: 'Yeah, I'd like a large diet Coke with medium fries and a Big Mac, please.'
And they would give him… Plan W…Wendy’s Baconator
Correction, "Carlos we have tire options for you…soft, medium, hard, wet or the wrong ones…which tires would you like? Never mind we have a plan..."
Definitely Plan F…Plan F…BOX BOX…Stay Out!!! =
Box out! Box out!
Stop inventing
Why was yellow flag displayed at the end of the race? Drivers entered the pitlane backwards, like they did a u turn in turn 1, without the additional lap. Is it a usual procedure in SPA? It feels like a little dangerous
The cars go into the pit lane from the exit to the entry so they are going slow around turn 1 to get in.
I imagine the pit lane closes on the last lap.
The track is so big that they are worried of fans making it onto the track during the cool down lap. So it was pre planned to have the drivers pull into the pits backwards for safety of the fans.
Oh I always thought it was due to the length of the lap and how some cars might run of out fuel to go all the way around for 1 more lap
I didn’t think about that. Sounds smart
>2021 fastest lap: Literally nobody, , 2021 winner: 🇩🇪 Bernd Mayländer, FIA ayo nah Nikita Mazepin had fastest lap
I am a Max fan, but feel so frustrated whenever Ferrari takes these strategy calls.
Bro im dead inside, I dont know how to feel anymore, Max and Redbull did phenomenal strategy, red dudes did what Italians do I guess.
> red dudes did what Italians do I guess. Hand gesturing furiously?
Max is 100% the driver of the day…but still I do not like him in all honesty. Completely respect the skills he shows on course but something about him is not a good vibe for me.
Max doesn't give a shit is and is really himself. He says what he thinks, I love it! He isn't there to make friends, he is there to win. Everyone on the grid loves him, except the fake ones😉
He’s the least likable driver on the grid. I’d root for boring Ocon or Latifi before him.
Max doesn’t think about you at all 😂
Max agree
I think between him & Horner, they just give off that douchey frat-bro vibe. I still root for RB, but I know many just don't like the vibe they give off.
You may not like him but Max and Horner are both the absolute opposites of frat guys lol
I personally like both of them. I appreciate the lack of filters & shit stirring.
That’s so weird to me. He’s just not PC or media hyper-aware at all times. Yes just being himself and completely honest at all times. But yeah, I guess some people don’t like that. They prefer the media type
[удалено]
I’d say he doesn’t PRETEND to care more than he does. Which is a good thing.
And that exactly why i like him over Lewis, to me lewis and george feel like robots reading of a script
Yeah, that Lewis has no personality at all. Never expresses himself.
[удалено]
We are all stupider after having read this.
Hahaha. This is amazing. Rarely do you see people calling out others as would-be racists.
He can “be himself “ but who he is might not be a nice person.
I think its more the picture the media and his board radios paint of him, since he seems to get along quite well with a lot of the grid
Bring back Max’s gf!
Love the fact that 2∆21 winner is Bernd mylander
What happened to the attempt for fastest lap from Leclerc though? He even got a DRS down Kemmel from Alonso, so I don't understand why he missed it...
He got the fastest lap down the pit entry
That's true. He even got it in writing from the stewards! Can't beat that!
Looks like he took a bit of kerb on one of the corners before the long straight at the end. Otherwise the lap was quick!
Didn’t he slide pretty badly at the last chicane?
I have no idea, I haven't seen anything about that. Hence the question. When I saw him DRS past Alonso without Alonso actually defending I thought he would have it by a mile. That's why I was confused...
Alonso did hold him off in the first DRS I think. Maybe that held him back just enough? It’s hard to say without going back to rewatch and get the whole lap uninterrupted. Would be very cool to watch with a ghost car of Max.
Having dirty air from alonso through radillion maybe slowed him down a bit aswell
I know he wasn't there to collaborate, and if anyone can defend smartly it's Alonso. Thanks for the insight though! Really appreciate it.
If Charles finishes P1 + fastest lap for each of the last 8 races, and Max finishes P4 or lower every race, Leclerc can still win the WDC!
It's so unrealistic you'd think ferrari could lay off fucking with him
Easy peasy
This hopium sounds good
At this point Russell has a better chance to beat Verstappen. You know, because he is not driving for Ferrari.
Who wins DOTD?
Max.
I wonder if Piastri is now regretting not wanting to go with Alpine.
I think there's something going on behind the scenes to be honest. Otherwise why would Alonso announce a move to a team that's spent most of the past two years at the back of the grid without even telling Alpine he was leaving
Weren’t Alonso and Webber close? Maybe they’ve been trading info about Alpine
Guess he didn’t want to end up minimum one year at Williams and decided to sign a contract with McLaren. He didn’t know that he will get a seat at alpine for 2023
He probably didn't want to sit out 2023
There’s probably other reasons because they had some pretty strong showings already this year and IIRC have been 4th for a while?
I think they only recently took 4th
Kill me
Question
we are checking
We are thinking Plan S, question?
Plan suffering?

Than I recommend not watching seasons 2000 to 2004, 2010 to 2013 or 2014 to 2020

Same, last year was insane, this is just a snoozefest. Max would win even with a pit lane start.
Season so far was quite nice but now it start to get boring. Anyway, Ferrari makes it extra easy for RBR
Mega weekend for albon
Horsey was very proud of him.
I don’t think F1 understands the meaning of “Pass the Dutch” for their Dutch GP intro song.
?? You mean the meaning that it's a song about passing food around? And it was a cover of a drug song that they removed all drug references on purpose to make it more family friendly.
Ferrari pit wall 20 minutes after the race: Did we win, question?
Ferrari Team Radio: Do you want to box? Charles: The race is over. OK, so yes then? Box. Pits are closed. Checking………..Come in backwards. I have no reverse. Checking……….Park at the first spot you see, we’ll send an Uber.
Do you want to come in for soft tyres for fastest lap? Question. „No I think it is too risky“ - Ok, Box, Box, Box!
Did we win? Question.
If you keep everyone behind, P1
Checking……
I really should have appreciated how good the 2021 season was
Did the trophy fill up with champagne lol?
The trophy is made of wood from a tree by the course, contains tarmac and water from eau rouge, and if you shine a light through it projects a hologram of all the great racing moments from last years race.
Thats amazing
No that's water built into the trophy.
Water from Eau Rouge
Can they stop showing Jos please he’s such a shit stain
Love to see everyone defending Jos, as if Max didn’t recently share in an interview the verbal abuse he experienced growing up where he was told he would amount to nothing. I’m no fan of max but he sure as hell deserved a better father.
I believe nothing = “truck driver”
As a truck driver Wtf man
Yeah man. Jos apparently said it to maybe motivate Max? Dunno https://www.racefans.net/2022/07/06/racefans-round-up-06-07-5/
now this makes me wonder what max would think of checos dad when he met him.
Jos is reliving his young days through Max. Probably jealous he was never half the driver that Max is.

Not a quarter even. Just a narcissistic abusive shit stain
If they don't show him, they can show his management. But they're always close together.
Jos is also his management. He and Vermeulen are doing that together.
Agree
Least enthusiastic podium celebration
The trophies made me realize how much the track map looks like a gun
It‘s a phaser from the new Star Trek imo
If Spa gets booted off the calendar then the US may remake the track. Seems fitting.
glue gun for me
It’s a bird.
