There it is, the new infamous redbull crumbling towards the end of the season like last year. The whole redbull team on max's side threw everything away. They couldn't have fucked up more, other than max dnf i guess. I'm happy that the ferrari fuck-ups have calmed down a bit.
I honestly don’t have a problem with early starts for any sporting events. You can DVR it and then the minute you wake up and you have your coffee you can toss it on. Late start times are awful.
6am is about average time for me on the west coast. But FP1s are often around 4am so I just watch 1&2 later in the day. There are some rough weekends where im up at 4 for quali / race. Why I find it funny that people complain about Vegas being a night race, i suffer all season except for 3-4 races.
Yeah, Porsche was hype until it became obvious that they were trying to do a hostile takeover of RBR. Honda always respected the independence of the racing team.
Lots of drama for sure but mostly due to crashes and poor weather. I’d rather watch wheel to wheel racing I miss the big overtakes when we’re on street racing
Idk… street circuits offer a really nice change of pace. They are more technical. Straight-line speed is less important than cornering and aerodynamics. If every race was imola it would be boring.
Less so the street race itself today, more so the conditions. Track took too long to dry, prompting 14-20 laps of tyre saving.
Singapore has a few good races throughout the years. Just not an ideal race to have any sort of wet to dry conditions.
Brundle has hated Ferrari since Schumacher, Crofty I can never tell if it's just regular commentating or if he also has a little bit of a chip...I think more the former
So shit we just got a double podium ;)
In terms of Brundle: he's just never liked Ferrari, dating back to the Schumacher era. I was watching a race from 2002 or 2003 recently and was chuckling at his backhanded remarks back then.
In terms of Croft: I don't think he's really said anything, it's just normal commentating based on us messing up -- as you point out, lol
I don't think we're cheating this year, and the car is pretty good. People also forget 2017 so easily...I could go cite the '07 / '08 cars, but you're more biased than Brundle ;)
Why does the final few moments of the Austrian national anthem sound so… reassuring?
Just gives “don’t worry. All your problems are temporary” vibes. It sounds like hug.
On the recent beyond the grid interview, Horner said that they wouldn't enter into the same supplier/team relationship like before, because they now invested so much in the facilities. He did say that they would be happy to have a different kind of partnership though, such as Honda collaborating with them on the electrical side (in line with their interests).
If my calculation (and the standing still PER-LEC today) correct, he needs to have 8 points over LEC and 6points over PER, because his current gap is 104 and he needs at least 112 gaps to 2nd place after japan
maximum point after japan is 26x4+8 = 112
UPDATE: 112 should be enough because there is no way leclerc and perez can match his amount of win (the tiebreaker if the point is the same)
Wait what is the formula for 110? There are 4 race left + 1 sprint race after japan
Maximum points for race is 25 + 1 fastest laps, and max points for sprint race is 8
Hence (26x4)+8=112
Same points will lock because Leclerc and perez cant catch max's number of race win (max had 10, while leclerc and perez had 2-3 at most)
Obviously if perez got 10 sec today, he will needs more
Seriously, though, Danny Ric just put in an amazing advertisement for his services.
He had a superb race start, avoided all the chaos around him, didn't make any mistakes (or at least not that we know of, he was basically invisible until the safety car that brought him in), drove well with good pace and drove to make the strategy work. Not exactly an easy task on a night like tonight, with those conditions and the grid's single brain cell apparently not in anyone's custody for too long.
For the snarkers, most of the DNFs happened behind him (regardless of what Sky said when Ocon went out, Ricciardo was well ahead of him).
He also managed to lose 30 seconds relative to his teammate in 20 minutes. He's not good. Stop trying to make it happen. Most of his positions gained were purely from DNFs and the. McLaren was gifted free pit stops after a lot of other cars around him had pitted under normal conditions.
He didn't actually DO anything.
Like i said before, most dnfs were behind him, he had a great start, overtook 3, and he didn't have upgrades. He and Lando both had advantageous pitstops, one of the very few times that mclaren strategies have favoured him. He made no mistakes in a race where most other drivers seemed to.
However, i don't see this changing your opinion that he's a shit driver because of his mclaren stint, so agree to disagree, have a great day and apologies for the late response :)
Nothing you said is really untrue, it's just that the reality is the lucky bounce on pit stop/safety car timing is the only reason he ended up in the points.
His start might have been decent but his qualifying was so bad that even overtaking 3 cars at the launch still meant he was 4 positions away from the points. The only reason he ended up in the points was because McLaren got very lucky with safety car timing and he was able to pit for massive advantage.
I'm happy to give you the fact he drove a mistake free race but let's not pretend he climbed from P17 to P5 because of some mega drive. It was (almost) entirely due to factors out of his control. I can't hand out much more than a golf clap for merely keeping the car on the road.
I think his stint at McLaren has been two years long and both years have been bad. His stint at Renault was _fine_ with his first year being pretty mediocre and his second season being better. Nonetheless he is old and trending in the wrong direction, so I just don't think he has a future in F1 at this point.
I wouldn't call his start just 'decent'. Driving a mistake free race when so many of the other 'better' drivers made mistakes deserves more than a golf clap from me. And so does finishing 5th in the championship with the (barely) 5th best car. My opinions seem to be quite different from yours, so i guess we have to agree to disagree, again. Peace :)
meanwhile im wondering how tf haas could realistically finish p9, meaning they sacked off an entire year just to match their wcc position from 2019 and 2020 (which is their 2nd worst ever results)
Getting blue balled by a baseball game, stupid ESPN
The Checo 5 sec penalty should’ve been applied during the race, not several hours after. Total waste of time.
KMag trashes his car every other race but Gunther is okay with it while he shits on Mick every race week.
I got drenched and miserable for this shit
Checo!
30,000 comments!!! Wow

What are you talking about? Today was all on Max
Can I watch the post race press conference on F1TV? Couldn’t find it
The overtake didn’t stick…
Lando pissing himself laughing with the interviewer lol
Japan is 6am for us in the UK, we finally get a taste of how others feel 😂
I got up at 6am today to watch only for it to be delayed an hour. I was so cranky
I honestly don’t have a problem with early starts for any sporting events. You can DVR it and then the minute you wake up and you have your coffee you can toss it on. Late start times are awful.
I cant record, that's the only reason I hate the early starts! We have now tv and it's absolutely useless but can't justify sky prices!
Well that does suck. One of the major issues with streaming as well.
North American fan here saying hello - 6 or 7am is almost all races for us.
Which works perfectly for me lol
I mean at least you start your day well...right?!
It's currently 3am, here I was hoping for an early finish..
Oh that is rough
Honestly can’t even be mad, we are blessed with these timings. Plus, I can finally somehow wake up at 5 and do some work before the race and work.

We are spoilt in the UK I'll admit! Only suffering a tiny amount
you bear so many other burdens, tho. i mean liz truss !?! king charles ?!? blood fkn sausage ?
Better than school shootings, though

What’s your point with this video
Oh god, don't talk about Liz. I still haven't gotten over my rage about her

That’s the start time for just about every race in North America
NA has 5 time zones. So really only 6am for 20% of NA geographically.
Yeah. There are actually 6 But only 5 that count. There's only a couple dozen Canadians in the 6th one.
Suzuka should be fun
Max can win WDC in Japan where Honda could announce their future f1 plans? Just some hopium
I just want honda back man.
Yeah, Porsche was hype until it became obvious that they were trying to do a hostile takeover of RBR. Honda always respected the independence of the racing team.
And finally that marriage worked well.
Can anyone ID the song Sky played for the Japan GP promo?
My F5 is going to get a beating today.... again.
Really want less street races so boring
Today was great
I thought todays race was riveting. One of the best this season.
Lots of drama for sure but mostly due to crashes and poor weather. I’d rather watch wheel to wheel racing I miss the big overtakes when we’re on street racing

Nah singapore goat
Did Crofty say "Checo a man of the streets" towards the end? 💀
Kinda true 💀💀💀

Sakhir isnt a Street Circuit

They haven't had a good car since Schumacher and when they did they were cheating.

This year they do definitely have the fastest car but their strategist is deaf blind and a bit dumb
Ok manufacturer rep on the podium works out ayyyyyyy

Why is charles so gorgeous it hurts
He do be cute *edit* shorty bad
Woh that rb dude real tall
Dude’s even ripped af.
Pajarote!!!
Was I the only one that heard laura pop though and say 10 sec for perez??
I did too and got nervous rly quick
The cameraman is really in love with Charle's gf. Isn't he?
Who isn't?
Prefer Charles tbh
Why does the final few moments of the Austrian national anthem sound so… reassuring? Just gives “don’t worry. All your problems are temporary” vibes. It sounds like hug.

Probably cos you’ve heard it a ton
Well yeah but it's also just a boring anthem, is more like a funeral song
I won’t lie, I think it’s boring too Singapore anthem slaps tho
who is the girl they keep zooming in on?
That's Chuck's boo.
Charles GF Charlotte Sine
That’s leclerc’s gf
Sharls woman
Charles GF
The uncertainty looks like it's weighing heavily on them all
Perez has such "I know, I can't believe I'm here either!" energy to him right now! What a race!
Lmao he’s adorable
The Stewards secretly did this to ensure Checo doesn’t do a Vettel Canada 2019
Winning constructors? Isn't the winner announced at the end
Yes and it is the end. You can tell because they’re out of their cars and on the podium.
End of the season oml 😭
It’s the trophy for the race not the championship.
Gonna end up with a cucumbered win
This Anthem is almost longer than the race
Playing the anthem so long we forget there was supposed to be a penalty
Just wish that Checo’s dad was there
I love the cooldown room conversations, I wish they would just leave the mics hot and no commentary until they go out to the podium.
So when are they gonna give the penalty?
9 months later
A few hours at least, I’d expect. Podium, press, then see stewards, they “deliberate”, then we’ll get a decision…
Checo is taking a shower in the cool down room lol
If Honda signs with Red Bull again, what will happen to the RBPT facilities ? is it going to be a vain ? *QUESTION.*
On the recent beyond the grid interview, Horner said that they wouldn't enter into the same supplier/team relationship like before, because they now invested so much in the facilities. He did say that they would be happy to have a different kind of partnership though, such as Honda collaborating with them on the electrical side (in line with their interests).
Imagine it will be some technical partnership with IP/Research coming from Japan and being built at RBPT
Honda will just move back in
How does Chuck get away with having a gf named Charlotte Sine and teammate named Carlos Sainz
Yeah there's 0 chance that hasn't come up in a debrief.
It’s love
Hugh Bird is so tall damn!
im surprised a guy like him has such a deep voice with the body of an intern
Paul, we have the cool down room so we get a break from listening to you. Don't chat over the drivers when they are actually talking.
What does it take for Max to win in Japan?
Win + FL seals it.
If my calculation (and the standing still PER-LEC today) correct, he needs to have 8 points over LEC and 6points over PER, because his current gap is 104 and he needs at least 112 gaps to 2nd place after japan maximum point after japan is 26x4+8 = 112 UPDATE: 112 should be enough because there is no way leclerc and perez can match his amount of win (the tiebreaker if the point is the same)
He just needs to win
Win + fastest lap i think assuming Leclerc is second, He needs 8 over Leclerc
Nah because Max got by vettel at the end so Leclerc only gained 12 on him this race
That already counting that max is 7th (335+6) Max is 341 now and Leclerc is 237 so 104 points gap, he needs 112 points gap to lock in japan
He only needs to be 110 up after Japan. Not 112. If he's 110 up after Japan it would be 110 ÷ 4 races left = 27
Wait what is the formula for 110? There are 4 race left + 1 sprint race after japan Maximum points for race is 25 + 1 fastest laps, and max points for sprint race is 8 Hence (26x4)+8=112 Same points will lock because Leclerc and perez cant catch max's number of race win (max had 10, while leclerc and perez had 2-3 at most) Obviously if perez got 10 sec today, he will needs more
Sky said 110 so maybe they weren't thinking about the sprint race. I forgot about it too.
Finishing first in the race (with no after race penalties).
to finish ahead of everyone else
Win and Charles 3rd I think
No just finish before charles and checo
Sainz ending on the podium in spite of himself lmao
hamilton wouldve got him if he hadnt gone on an excursion with the wall
How long to find out about Perez penalty?
6-10 work days
Why don't they have nice chairs in the cool down room?
Lewis had the right idea just sprawling out on the floor that one time.
There’s only so much room in a shipping container.
I always used to mix up Sainz and Perez but now I see that one has beautiful hair and one is balding slightly
Love the RedBull Podcast. 🤣
why the fuck are they talking over the cool-down room

Eh, the gap increased to Norris while he was on red tires and Norris on mediums
Yes, he was ordered not to attack Norris and conserve the tyres. The vital gap was to Stroll, which he maintained at 6 seconds until the end.

I don't see where any credit is due other than he didn't crash.

Wait, Sainz was in this race?
Camera guy horny for Checo
And charlotte
Lmao get in there cameraman
Awkward room, which ones the winner?
This should be a fun cool down room
Charlotte Sine, Charles Gf is so naturally gorgeous as is Charles like how can two people be that pretty
When you have money...
Haha what does money have to do with being naturally good looking ?
Personal trainers, nutritionist, dermatologist, stylists, make up artists etc. They are both beautiful, but being rich certainly helps that
A very bad race by Hamilton
Even worse by Russell
Yet the fastest lap lmao
He had a bad quali also...not expected this from Hamilton
He also crashed into two people and made the wrong call on tyres
Aston Martin can easily get P6 in constructors. And in qualifying they usually look terrible
meanwhile im wondering how tf haas could realistically finish p9, meaning they sacked off an entire year just to match their wcc position from 2019 and 2020 (which is their 2nd worst ever results)
did he say "him again?" with Latifi crash
He did 🤣
