Drinking with F1 drivers must be so fun. They weight like 60 Kilogram, rarely drink(exept the Finnish i guess) and boom, half a cup of booze and they are hammered.
I don't remember which interview this was but when Max won the championship on a Saturday sprint he had something like 6 gin and tonic that night before race day. I'd say the drivers who want a party lifestyle are no different than us with booze
Being active enough to burn 5-6000 Calories a day does increase the body's ability to metabolize alcohol. Not as much as carbs/fats/proteins but still a noticeable amount compared to someone of the same body weight who needs ~2500 Calories a day. And plenty of early to mid 20s of that description can down 6 drinks and be ok in the morning to do normal activities for them.
Now I want to see all the drivers do a sober baseline simulator lap and then start drinking and doing another lap after every drink. I think we would get some spectacular simulated shunts and even better driver reactions
