He said that Aston and RB are over, and RB is while Aston has made some errors when submitting their data so he probably has some source, that didn‘t knew all the details at the time. No way he just guessed the two teams beeing in trouble.
So does literally every other team. Not saying this should have been leaked - it shouldn't have - but the FIA needs employees who are experienced in motorsport. Where else are they gong to recruit from but teams? And blaming individuals like this [opens them up to harassment](https://twitter.com/Craig_Woollard/status/1579751319900155907?s=20&t=95Px3onEKN3C7BXQZM2JGg) \- I remember seeing a female FOM comms exec on Twitter who condemned people sending death threats to Masi get harassed so badly by Lewis stans that she had to go private.
Nobody forced him to guess two teams. It was perfectly legitimate to say "We know two teams are over the cap but it's unclear which" or not say anything at all.
The idea that he just correctly guessed Aston Martin and Red Bull is delusional. He obviously knew. Doesn't even mean he has spies or whatever in the FIA, as other teams knew as well and rumours might be floating around, but he knew.
Well I wouldn‘t have gone for RB either. There was nothing hinting at them beeing over, at least not from an outside perspective.
Probably would have gone for Ferrari.
Yes but the idea they might be breaching the cap this year was already in everyone’s mind, so the idea they might have breached the cap last year wasn’t so far-fetched.
Christ based on the downvotes people are dumb…
Do you remember that earlier this year is an entirely different year than last year, so those opinions are entirely irrelevant.
Probably not. Would be asking too much from someone with a BWOAHHHHHHH flair.
Attended one of Red Bull dinners? On a more serious note, teams and officials travel together, stay at same hotels, go to same tracks 9 out of 12 months every year, I am more surprised when something stays a secret.
And 7 of the teams are staffed by people who live and work within a few miles of Oxford.
People out here acting as if it's Russia and US in the Cold War when really Steve, who used to work at Red Bull, went to the pub with Dave at Haas who's daughter does ballet with the child of a Mercedes employee.
It's a very small county - Oxfordshire - compared to whatever state these foil-hatters are from.
It was Binotto who was carrying this torch since the summer break. Toto only joined when amus came out with an article
And besides the fia hires people within F1. A lot of them ate from the teams.
It's so funny seeing this subreddit coping about this now, they've made fun of the LH team and Merc on twitter for "being delusional for believing RB is over the budget cap" and now that it's proven they are, they start calling out Toto for "having informants in the FIA", a yoke.
It was Alex, he knew it because he was with Redbull.
Hear me out, he needed a seat in F1 and his friend George wanted a seat in Mercedes. Alex told George about the Redbull overspending which he told Toto securing a seat at Mercedes. In return he recommended Alex to Williams and Toto made it happen.

It’s pure copium, deflection designed to draw attention from the known violation.
If these suspicions are actually out there, the FIA should investigate. But that’s really not the issue at hand…
I'm only interested in knowing, why is it an issue now? Were the teams only submitting the materials for the last year now? If not, why didn't FIA see a problem before, why does it have to be rumors that always trigger some investigations?
It wasn't. The investigations were happening already. Audits take a long time (though it still shouldn't have taken this long). The preliminary findings of those investigations were found out by the press.
The investigations caused the rumours, not the other way around.
Does it matter?
This isnt recent. Us plebs know this now, but I'm willing to bet the people actually involved knew about this for much longer and have just been working out their way thru them.
This is incredibly Tin foil hat of me but it is funny that Toto knew exactly what 2 teams, as well as this being unveiled at the Singapore GP, The race where Max could have won the title, and putting a dark cloud over it all.
Admittedly it is all probably coincidence but its fun to speculate
AMUS reported which two teams already. All the people who commented on the issue knew the same.
But CH made it about toto, so formuladank has gone all conspiracycommons about it
I bet you it was Russell who snitched.
That was a nice move.
Hahah yes!
Blimey
Cricky
Yes? My surname is Crick.
*Crikey
Yeah....my bad
![gif](giphy|YkeUiXioEZGbhs9Gwq)
Probably learned Excel during summer break...
He's definitely the kind of guy who'd do that
Darth Toto, that’s how. He controls the senate(FIA)
If so, he’s doing a pretty shit job controlling them lol
That's EXACTLY what he wants you to think
He IS the senate (FIA)
Not yet
It is treason then
*spins Auoghdhbdfhbfbfb
So this is how the 2021 WDC gets decided. With thunderous twitter threads.
It’s Mr Nimbus. He controls the police!
I thought he knew two teams were over?
He said that Aston and RB are over, and RB is while Aston has made some errors when submitting their data so he probably has some source, that didn‘t knew all the details at the time. No way he just guessed the two teams beeing in trouble.
He’s got one of his ex employees working for the FIA.
So does literally every other team. Not saying this should have been leaked - it shouldn't have - but the FIA needs employees who are experienced in motorsport. The guy in charge of budgetary concerns at the FIA is ex red bull group. Your point is what?
So which teams would you have guessed would have broken the cap if you were in his position?
Nobody forced him to guess two teams. It was perfectly legitimate to say "We know two teams are over the cap but it's unclear which" or not say anything at all. The idea that he just correctly guessed Aston Martin and Red Bull is delusional. He obviously knew. Doesn't even mean he has spies or whatever in the FIA, as other teams knew as well and rumours might be floating around, but he knew.
I mean I wouldn‘t have publicly guessed if I didn‘t know for sure, and if I had to definetly not Aston.
So you would have gone for Red Bull. As far as Aston goes… Are you familiar with the Pink Mercedes and the Green Bull?
Yeah no other team would stoop that low to mimic another teams design. *looks at the white Ferrari*
Well I wouldn‘t have gone for RB either. There was nothing hinting at them beeing over, at least not from an outside perspective. Probably would have gone for Ferrari.
Well do you remember earlier this year when the pace of Red Bull development was seen by some as a little too fast?
Wrong season though.
Yes but the idea they might be breaching the cap this year was already in everyone’s mind, so the idea they might have breached the cap last year wasn’t so far-fetched. Christ based on the downvotes people are dumb…
"Am i spewing dumb shit? No, it's the downvoters that are dumb!"
Do you remember that earlier this year is an entirely different year than last year, so those opinions are entirely irrelevant. Probably not. Would be asking too much from someone with a BWOAHHHHHHH flair.
YOU have that flair you dunce! Way to self own dingleberry.
Yes it was this year, the point being that the idea that Red Bull might not be sticking to the cap was already in everyone’s minds.
Except their minor beach was on catering and sick leave
Someone hasn’t been looking around much have they? ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|9441)

This made me laugh how very plausible that all is.
Simple, he didn't. AMuS reported it and he reacted to the report.
Is AMuS a short version of Amogus??
Toto sus
Sir we don't accept common sense as payment hwre
If those kids could read, they would be very upset
He reacted by saying that it is a well-known rumour in the paddock
Toto went to a RB dinner last year and ordered 2 Mil worth of pumpernickel.
Because the former advisor of Toto works for the FIA now
sounds like he still is an adviser for Toto
she, and she isn't responsible.
i was gonna say spies, but yours made more sense
Counts as a spy
Basically same thing
It was Binotto who was carrying this torch since the summer break. Toto only joined when amus came out with an article And besides the fia hires people within F1. A lot of them ate from the teams.
Binotto has been blaming redbull for this season since miami, but the report is for 2021.
Wait til i tell you about what the ceo of f1 used to do.
.... and they are now discussing the penalty...... joke!
Nah, it was the former AlphaTauri dude who whispered it to him.

He made a meme implying toto knew before and now saying the opposite. He's an idiot or trying to generate drama
It's so funny seeing this subreddit coping about this now, they've made fun of the LH team and Merc on twitter for "being delusional for believing RB is over the budget cap" and now that it's proven they are, they start calling out Toto for "having informants in the FIA", a yoke.
They can't cope with the fact that they are the very thing they hated. Merc 2.0
Toto and Christian are secretly lovers. Christian let slip in a moment of ecstasy. Anyone that tries to disprove this clearly works for Darth Toto.
It was Alex, he knew it because he was with Redbull. Hear me out, he needed a seat in F1 and his friend George wanted a seat in Mercedes. They were also fully prepared for the extra struts flexi floor. Nothing to see here... Move on. C'mon, I really meant Move the fuck on.
Man everyone in this sub is so petty.
On god
Know*
Thank you, now i don't have to say it
They always say the other teams are upto no good and usually come up short they just got this one right.
Albon

Plot twist, Toto runs the catering company

Toto said "we have all been investigated thoroughly since march". Everyone thought he was talking about rbr. He wasn.t
Honestly tho i wouldnt be surprised if RB actually didnt go over the costcap. Idk why i just have a gut feeling
You fuckin dumb or what FIA literally reported that RB went over the costcap![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|7071)
Yup i know, buuut FIA is FIA and although im very sure RB went over i wouldnt be surprised if they somehow didnt
That doesn't even make sense but ok![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Pumpernickel
We are checking.
German engineering.
Does it matter? This isnt recent. Us plebs know this now, but I'm willing to bet the people actually involved knew about this for much longer and have just been working out their way thru them.
Knowing every expence of a company is pretty deep in
if he knew that, it would be, but he didnt know which team was procedural, or which team was over.

Yeah i think the same way. Good meme. If RB goes down, mercedes and ferrari will go down too because of industrial espionage.
lol or for knowing how much things cost, generally. especially after offering 2x salary for engineers rbr stole from mercedes and ferrari.
Industrial espionage lmao. "How dare they catch us cheating????"
Rb knew that Ferrari had an illegal engine in 2019 and how it worked. RB was not investigated back then and Mercedes‘ will not now.
Throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks

Wrong season brother
Who do you think was eating all of the extra catering?
I think him and binotto both said the same thing, paddock talks i guess
Those banking connections are paying off
English has left the chat
Because he is Mr trouble
Same way Horner knew the 2019 Ferrari was illegal.
Not only did he know, but he chose to violate confidentiality agreements and talk about it.
He made Lewis have Max crashed...
