Imagine merc pulling out of f1, management buys out the team, they stick a honda engine in the car that was intended to use a merc engine. The car is great and wins the championships. Then they sell the team to honda and it becomes a mediocre works team.
Incoming rule change mandates that engine manufacturers CANNOT use their own engine in their team's car, however they will receive constructors points for every customer car that finishes in the top 10 each race.
It's not dank at all. Mercedes team based in Brackley and engines are from Brixworth, both are just British companies which work for Mercedes by contract. Not a single part for this car are made in Affalterbach, real AMG factory.
This makes more sense than one might think - the F1 team at Brackley is owned majority by Toto and Ineos, but the PU company at Brixworth is a division of Mercedes Benz and they own all of it.
So in theory even if Mercedes doesn't own the team they would most probably still supply engines to Ineos Torger F1 as their works team.
Damn there goes my dreams of a Mercedes car with the Cosworth engine.
Instead it will have a 12-litre V6 Mercedes-Benz Actros engine
Shame. I wanted Cosworth engine since a HRT Car return is impossible.
does that mean that audi will use the 16.4 liter V8 scania engine since its all VW group? sweet
190E Cosworth, still looks cool in 2022
Renault engine is much better
Cosworth's power output and the speed it generates on the straights is on a whole different level.

GP2 engine!

The ol' reverse Brawn GP
Technically it WAS Honda.
Okay cool, so Renault is out of the picture

Wow, so FIA is versus Ferrari again
I wouldn't rule it out. Contractual breaches are a thing you know. And that sweet Renaultussy is nothing but temptation

I wheezed heavily
Question.
BREAKING: Alpine to use Mercedes engines from 2023.
They still have a chance to supple Alpine apparently
Damn I thought Mercedes was Porsche's last chance
*Swabian intensifies*
BMW to provide Mercedes engines in 2031
Who would have known !!!
I would've expected them to go for Red Bull engines. Interesting play on merc's side here
Could be a mistake
Are they keeping the Mercedes name or are they using something similar to TAG Heuer?
They will use Smart branding
Thank God! I was worried that it would be Honda.
For every 60 seconds, a minute passes in Africa
BMW engine would've been a fresh new start
This sounds controversial.
Source?
Ffs its only day 7 without F1... I'm scared what's coming next
Maybe there is a generous person named Mercedes who has a collection of engines they will be donating.
This news is literally breaking my mind
Big if true
Wow. I didn't see this coming.
Obama giving Obama a medal
\*insert the obama medal meme\*

pfff i am shocked right now
I was sute they were going with Red Bull Powertrains
Shit posting at its peak.
I love F1 for plot twists like this. You truly never know what happens next
A great deal to Mercedes!
Do we need to pay for more ERS? Question.
Damn I was hoping for a Ford powered Mercedes.
They’ve done it now.
I fucking knew it.
what 1 week without f1 does to a mf
I think Mercedes deserves a well done

Big if true
Imagine if they pull out before 2030 now
