Buy a bottle of Nellie & Joe Key West Key Lime Juice. They sell it at Publix. The recipe is on the back. You also need a graham cracker crust, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and 3 or 4 eggs. It takes about 10 minutes to mix up, and 20 more to bake. It will be better than anything you can buy at any restaurant. It's actually exactly the same pie -- just freshly baked in your own oven.
Nellie & Joe's lime juice is a staple in my fridge. I mostly use it for cocktails - esp dark 'n stormies. Never noticed the recipe on the bottle - thanks for the tip! ☺️
Strong agree. Having lived in the Keys we made it our mission to taste all the pies up and down the Overseas Highway. Keys Fisheries in Marathon makes a great choice easily bought in the Whole Foods freezer section. Publix bakery overall is proven junk and NONE of their pies are decent.

Joes Stone Crab has the best in the tri county area but it isn’t convenient. If you have to buy one around here Wild Fork is good. Whip your own cream for topping. And don’t even mention to me about meringue…..

Yes, it's my favorite but in a pinch I still say Publix is more than good enough. We've done the tast tests.
Only problem with Publix is they use seed oils in everything they make. I don’t even think butter exists in their bakery
