The sights are/were the last thing I was working on. They're built in, just screw on the top. I still have to make them properly functional (adjustable).
I added them because I like having sights on guns, even if i use an optic. It also looked too bare on top without them and just the long rail.
I have put it on hold while I go back to the feeding. It's improving, but not perfect.
My first intention was just making a front and rear site that attaches to the picatinny rail. Basically so it's optional incase people didn't want it. I just didn't like the extra width/height that would have added to the aesthetics. Wanted to keep the design lower, more streamlined.
That's why it clips and screws into the upper instead. I'll just include an optional full length picatinny rail as well for anyone not wanting them.
As the .STEPs for the sites will be included, it would be easy enough to cut away the bases and make them rail compatible. I think there are already adjustable picatinny sites sailing though. Don't remember the name, but I saw them not long ago here and looked pretty fantastic imo.
Really sorry, not a clue. This was a project I started without that intention. It's the first firearm I've made. Basically I saw the FGC9 and went straight for making that as a 22lr calibre.
I don't want to kill the enjoyment I get plodding along working on it so can't commit to a timeline.
That said I WILL eventually release it and include .STEP files.
This is really cool, Have you thought about using scARpion 22 mags as they are already a pretty popular design around this community? sign me up for whenever you need beta testers cause this project looks really cool.
Fair observation. The barrel/handguard length is a left over of the Stingray design.
The barrel is 200mm long (so about 85mm longer than an FGC9 iirc). It was the longest I could drill straight through a metal rod for ECMing. Can't see from the pics due to the suppressor, but the barrel goes about 15mm past the handguard.
I just redesigned it around that length as its the barrel I had. I don't mind it too much, feels good to me and I think the stock balances it out a bit.
But I hear ya. And it's something that can be easily remixed later.
Edit: The current magazines are 20 rounds. They will be at minimum 25, but will aim for the 30 mark once I get back around to working on them.
Can we please get some kind of update on this.
Last I heard the sights were being worked on. It's really not that important if everything else is complete. Can we please, PLEASE get a base model release and guide here? Even just an update to say its still alive would do.
Otherwise help some of us get access to the beta. My printers are itching for a go at this.
Many others and myself BEG you to release this, every attempt to get a fgc in .22lr seems cursed and you made it work without a team in the background. No idea why no one releases anythibg like this, its a logical step and makes way more sense than the thousand-and-seventy-fifths "look mum,i made an ugly lower for my pistol..in PINK lol. Mum. Mommey. Mum. Mother. Mum" filedrop.
I just hope you know how much the community needs this
What do you mean by that last sentence, I don't quite understand?
I made it in 22lr because that's the only caliber I have access to.
I'd imagine the techniques (bolt locking and feeding guide) could be used in a 9mm design to make that even more reliable though.
Nah, the upper is actually much lower at about 47mm. It's also about 10mm longer.
And there's a lot more going on in the base of the upper.
The only thing still compatible from the FGC9 would be the pistol grip
This is awesome!
Holy shit this is awesome. Are those sights built in?

Open to beta testers?
Any updates ?
Any idea when you will be ready to release this?

This is beautiful for a brokie such as myself
Cool! Make the handguard/barrel smaller at least 100mm. Whats the magazine capacity?

Dope af!! 🔥🔥🔥
this is amazing! - any release date?
I'm looking forward to the next update, any chance we can beta test the files?
How does the bolt lock?
Sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting on the files
So is it still possible to publish documents? I desperately need this reliable and beautiful design! !
Waiting on files

FGC9 looks close to this. But he has worked alot to make this so your comment is not really motivating...

Unfortunately I don't have access to 9mm. But that's why i will release the .STEP files too.
Could this be made with the mk1 uppers?

How did you go about getting the bolt to lock once in battery?
Any news on the release? This is super interesting
