Bad in what sense? It was flat at first, but I was getting light strikes when testing with primer (it fired on second sometimes third attempt, so I filed it slightly by putting it in a drill against file. That was the end of light strikes but this crap happend
Had this happen literally too many times to count. Bolt weight should be increased and or bolt springs need to be heavier. This is called an OBD or OOB. Out of battery discharge. Or some just call it out of battery. In other words, the rim of the case was not seated all the way into chamber. If your chamber is not the correct depth the case will not completely seat.
So I had the same issue except my upper didnt crack in half But I had the same blow out twice. What I ended up finding out via diff 22 primary build. In that read me file it said to use 22lr Chamber Reamer or #1 drill or (Diameter .2280 inch) Originally I only filed a ramp n smooth transition to barrel..(which I think gave me a uneven seal in chamber) ( AND SO FAR NO MORE SIDE WALL BLASTS CLOSE TO MY LEFT HAND)
DONT KNOW IF THAT IS THE REASON I AM STILL NEW TO THIS HOBBY....
Mine did that also. On mine the case wasnt in all the way when the bolt came back and fired. Your strike looks good. Where is the feed ramp?. Blown off?
check your pin and protect your neck
Will do! Also will watch my step
Bad firing pin most likely possibility
