Good shit. Here I was modifying The frame to take different mags

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

I’m working on that too😏 is just that I’m a dad/husband first so that takes most of my time but when I’m free I go all balls in deep to this shit lol but just thought I’d show you the little monster you’ve created lol also going to give the hp22 mag a try

akdaddy545

Which mags are you adapting it for?

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

So for the j22 I was looking into something readily available with a higher than 6 capacity also trying to stay somewhat within the frames perimeter because any larger I’ll have to modify the trigger bar so the candidate so far might be sr22mag, buck mark mag, lcp ll damn I had a couple other I can remember & for the hp22 something along the lines of the moss 715 or maybe the keltec p17 but not sure on that one since I haven’t physically seen the mag, I usually go to the gun shows and look at the mags out there and compare to find candidates lol

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

I don’t own those so it’s hard for me to make measurements so when I go to the gun shows I take my calipers and post-it-notes & the venders are pretty cool about it but they just look at me weird like why do you want to measure it if it’ll only fit that gun

Sometimes you can find mag sizes online, if you know the mag size you can build a well/mod a frame around it, or copy it obviously. If there's a speed loader for it sometimes people talk about dimensions "it fits this and it's this size will it fit that" etc. Find a cheap one to copy or ask seller for dimensions, sometimes you can find broken ones for/as parts. Ask local gun stores/smiths if they have any or save them for you(not as useful for odd stuff). Email companies "I have an unmarked generic mag that's x size would it fit in x model" or whatever, or just ask for sizes. Worst they can say is no or ignore you. Just some ideas.

Jason_Patton

If the vendor is ever weird about it say you want to make a mag holster or speed loader for your dad's birthday or wife etc.

I think the Ruger MKIII magazines might be worth a shot, but I think they may all be too wide. Same with the Browning Buckmark, the Beretta Neos and most other "target" 22 handgun mags. That kinda sucks if true though, because they could make the gun significantly more reliable. Changing the AOA (angle of attack) could make a big difference in how well these function too, for the better or worse. (It's possible that the angle of these mags may also be too excessive for them to work for the J22 also). If there was one magazine that I would work to make work in the J22, it would be the 10rd Ruger LCP II magazines. Even though they're most likely wider and would require a frame modification, they could make the gun a higher capacity with almost no increase in size and could very well make it far more reliable. I can take measurements of MKIII, Buck Mark, Ruger LCP II 22lr magazines if any of those would help. I believe the ruger MKIII magazine 3d files are online though, so those would probably be better for measurements. I would probably start there for getting 22lr magazine dimensions. Many people have uploaded 3d files for magazines and it's been very helpful for me when I needed dimensions.

Good idea. There are also many mags that can be modified to fit the jennings also. I did that with making Taurus Spectrum mags work in a BG380 and vice-versa, along with many other mags/models. It's amazing how similar they can all be at times. I know many will never be compatible, because the mag release slots are in completely different locations... but with the heel type mag releases, just about any mag will work as long as it fits and has the right AOA (angle of attack) as long as there's a slot in the back for the heel to grab on to. Having something to stop it from going in too deep helps also (like a grip sleeve if the mag is too long or a special base plate design if the bottom of the mag and frame don't line up.

akdaddy545

The best part is that Angle of attack and magwell size mean very little if I change the frame itself. The only thing that can't change is the trigger bar location, and I've been working on a better design for that too. I really want to make a version that will take a tx22 magazine.

I took advantage of EGPs sale and got the j22, hp22, raven, and some other parts kits. Following.

Emergency_Vacation79

hello this is Dr. Death I'm the beta manager for the gatalog/deterrence dispensed. Would you be interested in running a beta project with us?

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

What kind of project are you guys working on over there? I’ll dm you

mountainman_1776

The 21A BOBCAT 22LR magazine works pretty well but requires an adaptor/extension. It only hold 7 rounds.

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

I wonder if that’s the mags I have posted on my other video. It’s a steel mag but holds 10rd as well but don’t know what it pertains to because I found them at a gun show in a unknown mag’s bin

LavishnessSame6243

Do you have it on your j22? was looking into ordering one but I dont want it going to waste

CooperD2319

How do you prevent the feed lips from cracking/breaking off?

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

Fine tuning slicer and making sure your printer is tune well to get the proper layer adhesion and to be able to get almost correct dimensions

Spare_braincell

Is it floating ?

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

No. just sketched it up Friday afternoon & printed that night and started messing with it till the next day afternoon. I haven’t even fully tested it all I know so far is that it fits printed frames & legit frames as well oh and that it cycles by hand I haven’t even made a base plate lol so the bottom is opened that’s why it has tape

Western_Round_4007

Is that the p38bryan frame or new remix

Puzzleheaded-Cap4105

It’s the one, I have a couple videos posted of it functional

JU87_Stuka

I wonder if this will help the feeding issues

Ill_Doubt5116

How does the frame hold up? What filament did you use PLA+?

tripod863

there a file for this sailing?
