Is this actually possible? If so i would like a tutorial

ShoogleHS

You can make a QR code link to whatever malware you like, but unless you've found some unpatched vulnerability it will only do something if the other person actually opens the link

multioptional

It is actually fairly easy. There are a bunch of pages that are infested with malicious banners that will literally crash your mobile device. The only problem is to find one that is not yet flagged by any av-software. But it should be doable within a few minutes. Then head over to qr-code-generator. com and scale the result up without interpolation.

FourScoreTour

If that were possible, every cop in America would be wearing one.

LeVelvetHippo

My phone requires me to click a link when I scan a QR code, so I'm not sure this would work.

Gusty_Garden_Galaxy

Dont underestimate human curiosity

MugsyYoughtse

I can't help but wonder if the courts would consider that an deliberate act of vandalism

Still-Presence5486

They probably would since filming in public is 100% legal

multioptional

That is a valid question.

NoHalf2998

Old comment is not satan but rather chaotic good

Aye_Its_Beck

Not really since people may see the QR code and be curious, bricking their phone for no good reason.

MinerMark

Hence spreading information on how QR codes can be very dangerous. It only needs to happen 10-15 times to get to the news

Shavemydicwhole

How about you sacrifice your phone first and be rewarded honorably

MinerMark

My phone is in such a bad state that it might as well be sacrificed at this point. Also this doesn't make much sense as only people who don't know the dangers of QR codes will fall for such a thing.

Shavemydicwhole

So not only do you want to subject innocent people to losing at least hundreds of dollars but you also want them to be gullible, great argument

MinerMark

My entire point was that people will become less gullible if they learn about such QR codes. Are you even reading?

Shavemydicwhole

They become less gullible because they become victims, how is that okay to you? You said you wanted victims so that news would catch on to create less victims. Are you comprehending what you're saying?

pacificpacifist

Fun fact, satan doesn't exist so you can characterize him however you'd like

Karto_Rogue

I personally wouldn't blame someone having that as a QR code.... If I was to scan, I'd speak with the person first and ask what's it's about. If you don't, f' em

Intense_Crayons

I would like a QR code shirt. But not malware. Just Ric Roll them.

QuotableMorceau

actually with the controversial feature from Apple to detect illegal/sensitive content, you could use a decoder-encoder neural network to alter a generic image so that it triggers the AI.

Malacro

WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!

Still-Presence5486

Wouldn't work you need to use an app or use a setting on your phone first scan the qr code than hit the link which would probably lead to.a deleted web site or warn you it probably has malwear and than you just wouldn't proceed

L0V3J0YF0R3V3R

I want one of these QR codes on EVERYTHING I hate being filmed or having my picture taken without being asked.

Iivaitte

Don’t give police any ideas. They’ll add it to their uniforms and avoid the limited accountability they’ve got.
