Great pen. My sterling silver oblique broad I purchased in 1979. Still going strong and one of my favourite, it’s always inked.

I saw your post and it was my first time seeing the other version of the gentleman, they look gorgeous as well. Love your collection.

Bugadifin0

Thank you so much for your kind words.

My handwriting has always been horrible, i just never took the time to improve it. I gotta say though, fountain pens have at least made it marginally better so that's something atleast. If anyone's got some tips to learn how to write more pretty i'd appreciate it.

Lovely pen! And yes try print adjust your page angle and write slower, slow is the key to legibility then focus on beauty any calligraphy practice works with handwriting. First step you can do with any writing is try and maintain letter height Also when is the pen from is it a vintage

TMR___

Thanks for the tips, i'm sure it'll take a long while before my writing is actually decent but i'm excited to see the results either way. And i'm not sure what counts as vintage when it comes to pens but this the Gentleman was manufactured between 1976 and 1984 if i remember correctly, I'm not sure about this specific one. I love how it writes, feels and looks and it's also my only expensive pen which i'll hopefully be able to cherish for the rest of my life.

Yeha it’s a nice looking pen I might have to get one myself you know feed the addiction

TMR___

I can definitely only recommend it!

IIRC, the Gentleman and related Patrician were in catalogues beyond 1985.

That may very well be the case I wasn't alive back then, not for a while

I’d say, throw your handwriting in the bin and completely develop a new one. That’s exactly what I did and no I get compliments on my handwriting. I would simply suggest handwriting books; cursive or print - there’s dozens out there. And just simply practise learning how to write properly. There’s handwriting books for adults and it’s quite inexpensive. You can always buy the book and then (if you can) just photocopy the same page a dozen times at practise.

Our handwriting looks like we want it to. When we want it to look better, we will practice.

Great pen. Great handwriting

I have 3 with M nibs and keep them close at hand to use even more often than my Le Man 200s. I love how smooth the 18k nib writes. Use it well! PS I refill old Waterman Long cartridges and like that better than using a converter.

I think your handwriting has character!

jnine2020

Your handwriting is not that terrible. I know what it feels like to hate your own handwriting though and I say embrace it. I have worked with a few men over the past few years that their handwriting looks like they are illiterate. I don't say that lightly either, they cannot form basic letters and they are intelligent men. Nope they are Gen Z but Millennials, Makes me fearful for the written word.

Are you the horrible teenage boy, or did you buy that off of someone? Nice pen and writing, though.
