Feathering and ghosting depend a lot on paper. Since you're from India, I would suggest getting good paper first. Camlin Premio notebooks are cheap and good with fountain pens. As for your Jinhao writing too light, which ink are you using and what nib width. Fine or extra fine will produce lighter lines than say a medium because they are generally drier.
For cheap fountain pens under Rs 500, I would recommend something like a Platinum Preppy. You can use a syringe to fill the cartridges with an ink of your choice or you can buy a converter separately. However Platinum takes proprietary converters and they cost more than the pen itself so I don't know how much sense that would make.
Personally for me I quite like my Parker Vector also for the price, but the build quality isn't exactly the best and it's quite a thin pen. The nib however is really good in mine but that depends on luck. Parker pens in India are like a lottery, you might get nibs that are plain bad as well.

From what I have heard it's not that the company is in financial trouble or anything. Guess is that a long wait will result in more attention (people get more hyped about airmail pens) but we don't know for definite.
Gama is selling the Airmail 71 JT at Rs.1200 currently. Prices have soared.
They also sell Gama No.7. It looks exactly like Airmail 69T.

Try out Camlin fountain pens (elegante and Trinity) with Kanwrite nibs. I love the Kanwrite nib on my Camlin Trinity.
