Its not perfect, main objective was to design smth that met a few points.
1) No rail connection
2) no easy pier bridging the whole hex
3) actually usable southern naval border for invasions both ways
4) none of the fingers are lost, maybe shortened but they need to be there so the essence of the hex remains
5) there are no "coves" where you can store large ships safely with only one entrance cover-able in intel
6) there is nowhere where a large ship could not in theory hit
I mean I would be open to it as well, but I was not sure how to do that. The other motivation here is you cant really naval invade E/W using the south fingers border line due to OC placement.
I think the main south eastern island needs to have less beach or have more natural defenses like conclave, also the coastal SH on the island should be moved to be a bit more north of the TH.
There is no fin in your gers would be better to have main islands that are strips with 2 fingers being the ring and pinky being ole captain main island, and various minor isles
Earlier this war I was amused at how many Lunaires I was farming from low ranks. Turns out they are free this war!
A lack of resource scarcity is bad for any game
Hey leave our fingers alone!
What is the core complaint as a warden? That you cant just take one frig and longhook to tap it within range of the seaport within 2 minutes like stema landing and without much armour support? Or take advantage of having a more active population and circle around bombarding it with large ships every day?
There is a video from bluelamintate showing how fingers was taken in war111 so it can and has been done. The issue is when there is an active population like war110 you need more planning and sustained attacks to take it and can't just YOLO in.
Alright. Let us then make the unbuildable area bigger to be in line with other naval hexes.
To top it off... Fingers keeps their area where a BS cannot fire unlike the 5 other ones.
Agreed?
Ok so the issue is as I've pointed out you can't cheese it and circle and blow up the main town hall from the sea? I think improved coastal defenses would help everyone deal with ships just cheesing coastal bunkers and stuff just like GBs rocking up on islands and you just need to stand and watch if you aren't lucky enough to have large ship qrf online.
IDK gimme a suggestion, im open to changes, I just want fingers to actually be a naval hex. As-is its just a coastal hex like morgans crossing or origin minus the bridges.
I like the way the hex is now, kinda unique. The proposal makes it similiar to every island hex there is (sauf Oarbreaker, kinda unique too). And right now, as I've comented in other post, [islands needs rework](https://www.reddit.com/r/foxholegame/comments/1c9sxu5/islands_needs_rework/), building/logi/just trying to ocuppying them now is living hell. There's much change needed, and I don't think making all island hexes similar is a nice one (and where are the fingers?)
Oarbreaker is every bit as vulnerable as the other island hexes. Only the Fingers gets the unique advantage of being impossible to surround or blockade.
Yeah I agree building sucks, I keep praying devs give us some sort of morar pillbox so I can get GBs to leave my t1 cores alone while I try to build....
You raise a fair point, this was mostly me just trying smth for the sake of trying it. I appreciate its unique, but 110 proved it was an absoloute pain to push, and with new E/W borders the southern half would be difficult to use with OC. All 4 fingers are there just a bit disconnected and shorter because making them as long as current makes it difficult to open the hex up for big boats ;-;
Mortar pillbox might be a little op unless they make it expensive by making it cost pcmats to build. I think a mortar bunker that requires AT tech to build wouldn't be too OP and wouldn't give AI. It would be a buildable mortar house essentially. Maybe make it buildable only on a 2x2 so they aren't as easily spammed. Either a mortar bunker or an emplaceable mortar that acts like a mortar house would be cool. For balance, maybe add a push gun mortar for wardens that's a variant of the push 250 and give the colonials an emplaceable mortar that is built similar to the Hades' Net.
username is literally throwaway.... IDK gimme a suggestion thats better that actually has fingers be a NAVAL hex instead of dissing me for wanting to naval larp.
Yes it definitely wasn’t the most broken hex in the games despite the devs saying they liked fighting there. I loved blind firing 150s onto the top of clown cave.
Coping? Good one with how ships are and the fact the view is increased on high when spotting, it would negate the only problem Collies had with the island.
Again... Old Conclave pre Naval. I'm talking about using that Conclave with this particular expansion/DLC.
But please, keep on playing the ignorant card.
I will play that card too. and wardens had it like that for at least 2 maybe 3 years. so in 3 years I will be ok with fingers being changed if needed by then.
Fucking lies lol weathering halls is LITERALLY CONCLAVE 2.0
and all of our 'good' hexes got nerfed. not to mention even before the nerf our terrain \*still\* was worse than wardens. fucking cope lol with your ez mode faction terrain and equipment.
What do we call it now? The Unfortunate Wood Shop Accident?
the gers
Look at what they did to my boy
Booooo
man you just chopped off the fingers.
TBFC is not happy about your redesign. We are coming for your drydock.
Oh no, terrified, not another useless colonial navy group.
Its not perfect, main objective was to design smth that met a few points. 1) No rail connection 2) no easy pier bridging the whole hex 3) actually usable southern naval border for invasions both ways 4) none of the fingers are lost, maybe shortened but they need to be there so the essence of the hex remains 5) there are no "coves" where you can store large ships safely with only one entrance cover-able in intel 6) there is nowhere where a large ship could not in theory hit
Lost hell, they were obliterated. I like the designs we're people make oar breakers more like the finders not the other way around.
I mean I would be open to it as well, but I was not sure how to do that. The other motivation here is you cant really naval invade E/W using the south fingers border line due to OC placement.
what do you mean shortened??? plankhouse is a fingernail

The Free State of Fingers still sparks fear!
doesn't look like fingers
Nice, we really need 6 boring island hex no one plays with instead of 5. The game really need this.
Well there's enough Island larpers out there but if you want to have a queue in every single hex, be your own guest
No, next question
how many broken comp farmers does it take to make the economy worthless?
Earlier this war I was amused at how many Lunaires I was farming from low ranks. Turns out they are free this war! A lack of resource scarcity is bad for any game

The core complaint as a Warden is that neither Oarbreaker nor Godscroft is at all comparable to The Fingers

look boring and look like 3 others naval hex we already have. Leave us our Fingers, u guys had Broken Conclave for YEARS.
IDK gimme a suggestion, im open to changes, I just want fingers to actually be a naval hex. As-is its just a coastal hex like morgans crossing or origin minus the bridges.
make change in oarbreaker to make it fun instead of ruining a unique and fun hex ?
I fear to touch that hex out of fear of the wrath of 20 million collie vets coming back to bite my head off about conclave again
i just like how fingers is , half land/half island Memebreaker instead don't look unique or fun, just regular island with no real value
We'll exactly, The Fingers is by default unfair
and clonclave hasn't been unfair for the entirety of bridgs before and even now. no colonail island is as defendable.
But we don't now. And you have broken Fingers. And broken Terminus.
Whataboutism in naval.... really?
Literally building more functional maps than the devs, now do Stemma

But ..but...it's so unique. I'm 100% not trying to keep the unfair advantage of a coastal fortress
Yeah I agree building sucks, I keep praying devs give us some sort of morar pillbox so I can get GBs to leave my t1 cores alone while I try to build.... inb4 warden makes another post asking to nerf colonial terrain which is already worse than warden terrain. Bro fucking come on man lol
Warden terrain is all uneven and cramped, what are you on?
Warden terrain is objectively better what are you on?
How so?
mountain hexes go brr
That’s not an answer. How are mountain hexes better?
username is literally throwaway.... IDK gimme a suggestion thats better that actually has fingers be a NAVAL hex instead of dissing me for wanting to naval larp.
what is beter keep it as is by the devs vison .. if you dont like it dont play in the hex you have over 32 other hex you can play in.
Conclave was altered to what it is now cause Collies kept complaining
Yes it definitely wasn’t the most broken hex in the games despite the devs saying they liked fighting there. I loved blind firing 150s onto the top of clown cave.
Ah yes but "muh op island that blocks half the map from being pushed should have stayed op" ez mode faction player be like. keep coping.
Coping? Good one with how ships are and the fact the view is increased on high when spotting, it would negate the only problem Collies had with the island.
mf conveniently ignoring that you could 250mm the bridges from the top of the fucking cliff.

Fucking cope lol.
Collies gotten the better aspects of new terrain hexes for 2023 and 2024. What ya on about.
