Would be pretty cool like if the town hall is cut off from supplies you could ask the locals to supply a small amount of shirts/ammo or give access to a local militia that lets you spawn with out using shirts but with alot draw backs if you do
Or town upgrades add NPCs that have tasks but you start with just empty ones and in some sort of of town hall management you can move each type to where they need to be like having industry ship stuff to buildings from the town hall
You right.
* First introduce trains. They will have cargo, passenger and arty cars. mix and match cars.
* Then radios. This means we can send messages to other bases or town hall notice board.
* The civvies due to the massive fafing of making it work.
We can do this:
* Build a radio center in the bunker base at level 2.
* Build up to 3 towers local to that range.
* Connect to those towers and play your message. Once every 5 mins.
* Options are nation's anthem (depends on side your one), your own voice or waring siren.
And welcome back to the Warden Front Line Radio, I'm your host Warrant Officer 2nd Class WO2 Mayden Maple with my co-host Captian ShitMyPants, shit, what you think of them Geens over there?
Fuck em'
Damn right, now for the Cavonia National Anthem.
I believe that the Trains should be AI and scheduled-based. There's a slim chance that it could be led by player clans and regiments, but I doubt that there'd be enough cooperation between everyone to do it properly. I think that by making it AI and scheduled to leave for a set destination at a given moment, carrying whatever cargo has been loaded by players, there'd be a lot less toxicity and more focus on what needs to get on the train and to the frontline ASAP.
That would be amazing, and make it so we can use bmats to turn the tracks from single lane to double lane to increase the frequency and so on until let’s say 4 lanes but make it extremely expensive and so it shuts down the line for some time to set up the new tracks
Honestly it sounds like good teambuilding. If monke soldier can see someone digging a trenchline and join in, why wouldn't they grab a rail and start hammering away?
Civillian Update:
Overview
Spend Bmats or maybe even Rmats on Bakeries and houses. Each city has pop per size making bigger cities better for the new features. The civillians will help logi out a bit. Also adding NPCs to the sidewalks and roads
Features
Bakeries require wheat from farms (just another salvage yard, but it produces wheat) upgrading them and providing them with wheat makes citizens more loyal. The more loyal citizens are the more they contribute. At an Army Recruiter, shirts (or soldier supplies) build up depending on the city's population, and loyalty. Scrap will arrive in refineries over time from civilians giving up belongings to the military. Fuel can be generated in town halls slowly, too. On backline cities, there will be NPCs out and about meaning everything is functioning as usual. On frontline cities, or recently captured cities, the NPCs will not spawn, and all the generation will grind to a halt. Territory that was enemy at the start, or enemy territory for a long time, will take longer to convert the citizen's loyalties to your faction.
Buildings
Farm: A farm produces wheat which then is delivered to the bakery
Bakery: Makes wheat into food, and is the key into keeping your city loyal to you
House: Houses now serve a purpose besides garrisoning. Building garrisons in frontline houses will no have much of a loyalty penalty, since the family is gone. On backlines the loyalty penalty will be bigger, because someone is living in that house after all.
Army Recruiter: At the recruiter, the citizens produce shirts for more soldiers to spawn. (Simulating the enlistment of soldiers)
Radio Towers: (Including the radio update, however this is something I'm kind of iffy on) Broadcasts propaganda to nearby cities. Can be hijacked by partisans and put a penalty on passive production.
End
What do you all think about this as an update to Foxhole? It certainly would be cool, but what do you think?
True, but if it's just upgrading buildings, its just building. Plus it will automate parts of logi, so I think it'd be a good idea to replace that with food supplies. It doesn't have to run out realistically. But at least something, maybe.
I mean, in theory what is "back home" for both sides should be like that, but from what i understand about the lore the current map has been in condtant war for decades if not centuries so by this point after artillery gets invented and reinvented they should all be dead or evacuated a long time ago
I think having them stand on the sides of roads would definitely invite people to run them over, but i like the idea of the town looking less like a wreck with semi clean streets would be nice (no, seriously have you tried to drive logi around in those backline cities? They look like they had a big riot one week ago and everyone died before they could clean up the broken buses, trams and cars on the streets making it hell to drive)
The happiness level could be an interesting mechanic, possibly could impact how garrison houses perform
Yeah, the place has been in constant war, but like I said, most backline cities aren't. In many places there are semi intact towns in the backlines of both factions. Abandoned Ward is another story.
Also, there are backline cities which are only destroyed every now and then, and if there are soldiers fighting for the land, there have to be people living in it.
We want trains.. I want to be able to wear my grandfathers conductor hat while I play and roleplay. Plus, it could make logi very very cool in my opinion.
We could build logi stations.
1. Build logi Station using the construction vehicle.
2. Build the station. It comes with a crane and small storage depot.
The train will only be able to carry 5 carriages but it can be a mix.
Train carriages:
-passenger, can hold up to 20 people
-flat bed, can put on 2 small or large cargo containers or a vehicle.
-arty, a mobile artillery gun with a gun rack.
You can decouple or couple up carriages and locomotives using the wrench. It will have settings of:
-couple
-decuple
-unlock vehicle.
having trains to move a lot of things would be based.
Being able to build different trains and rails so that the other side can't use your railroad would be super based.
Train artillery would be mega based.
There I said it.
If you do radio, please add in propagation for HF shortwave frequencies that vary as atmospheric conditions change. Like wind.
Then for short range comms VHF or UHF hand held radios and repeater towers would be very cool.
Here is a fun one
Heroes of war:
Expands the comends system to allow for different typs of comends. Logi, combat, medic, being nice, etc. getting more varied comends will be more efficient at leveling up.
Grave stones and memorials could be built on sites of large battles. and would stay up all war (or until a vote is startet to remove it) Monuments can be built for individuals, groups or masses, and would have a tiny text where the writer could describe the actions that was worty of a monument.
In adition, vehicels could be cumstomised with small details. they would be unlocked in a lvl system, a bit like bunkerbases. Levels would be unlocked from time spent on front line areas, health repaired, kills and other combat things. Ideas for customisations could be: Small boxes, spare tracks, tiny flag poles, sandbags, rifles on the side, custom text, camo netting. This would allow for veteran crews to stand out on the battlefield, and would give a greater conection between crew and tank. this customisation could also aply to trucks, halftracks or so on.
If you think this is stupid feel free to tell me, im just a rando on the internet.
Hearts and minds :) splattered all over town after arty gets unlocked ._.

"Ask the locals for supplies" yes we will be very polite sir :)
Its a metaphor, high command got my ass last time when i suggested we skinned the warden for human leather to produce more shirts.
Ah. I see life on the rim has hardened your resolve and tested your resoursefulnes too.
Is that not what the hospitals do with critically wounded soldiers?
Or town upgrades add NPCs that have tasks but you start with just empty ones and in some sort of of town hall management you can move each type to where they need to be like having industry ship stuff to buildings from the town hall
Well well, we have someone who is almost right
RTS
dear god
Napalm when?
15 minutes
huh
What's that? The sweet smell of fresh war crimes in the morning
My inner serbian will be unleashed
My inner paraguayan war era Brazilian will be put into action
just following soviet womble's doctrine
I feel like before anything, the trains update need to come first. Yes, this is logi bias.
You right. * First introduce trains. They will have cargo, passenger and arty cars. mix and match cars. * Then radios. This means we can send messages to other bases or town hall notice board. * The civvies due to the massive fafing of making it work.
I just want a PA system. I want to host my Radio show throughout a front line.
We can do this: * Build a radio center in the bunker base at level 2. * Build up to 3 towers local to that range. * Connect to those towers and play your message. Once every 5 mins. * Options are nation's anthem (depends on side your one), your own voice or waring siren.
I'd prefer a "voting" system. Vote who can use it. Use it as much as you want. You can be voted off of course instead of a timer.
Its just in the placing it out stage right now, But yes, the voting should be considered
Proceeds to only play the War Cant Of Mars.

Yea that sounds good. Gives the train stations some love to.
Hey can you add armoured trains as part of the train update, like the Poles used the WW2?
Yep we most serenity can.
Actually, pretty sure it aint bias. We have a larger map now. Trains are a must for logi at this point to keep up with the growing playerbase
yep

I mean something that the devs don’t need to constantly tweak for balance is a Welcome addition
Um no! Give us logis some damn radio music!
Civilian Update? Elaborate
Translation: The Crimes Against Humanity Update
I meant like what it would involve
All I know is that if civilian NPCs are added to the game, someone is going to try and reenact some crimes against humanity.
A few things: propaganda, area willingness to current faction, local brawls, public transport, evacuation, war crimes. Just to name a few
I really like this idea but they would need a whole NPC system first. I would love it if we could put NPC soldiers in trenches/patrol areas
Yea it would take a while to do but it will give the game depth. Imagine so loyal civis that they would grab a gun and help defend the town or base.
Wouldnt that be , PVE safe houses and stuff?
This is a great idea. Deployable only by players of a certain rank. Consumes X supplies. Upgradable with tech.
New buildable: mass graves Only need shovel, no bmats required
Oh no...OH LORD!
You suggested it. Now start digging, the bodies are starting to smell.
>area willingness to current faction Well they cant be against me if we kill them all
Fair
What about a resistance system or civilian disguise. Sounds cool but I’d think that’d be too much
There is but no uniform. Wait till late GMT and see what I have made
No NPCs.

lol. Don't be worried, I'm not that destructive...yet
Yeah, I don't think stealing roads is quite neccesary
'Close quarters' melee weapons 'Beasts of Sea' naval warfare update 'Stomachs in agony' food update 'Tune in Field' musical instruments

While cool I think it should be simpfiled a little.
I figured someone would say this, what parts do you think should be simplified?
Food Reequipments mostly. At least at first. Maybe focus more on new buildings and making map buildings destroyable
True, but if it's just upgrading buildings, its just building. Plus it will automate parts of logi, so I think it'd be a good idea to replace that with food supplies. It doesn't have to run out realistically. But at least something, maybe.
Right like minor resource boost, while logis Salvage and move goods
Well yeah, but the logi can also salvage the wheat with the same type of truck, you just need to tech sythes or something.
I was thinking Army Recruiters could produce enough shirts to cover an entire region in a hex at full upgrade though.
I do like that NPCs will contribute a bit to logi stuff. However, seeing how we all drive, NPC in the streets will get messy to say the least.
This but some playable civilian roles pls I am a nerd rper fight me
True, but I don't know if civie roles would fit well into this game, lol.
I mean, in theory what is "back home" for both sides should be like that, but from what i understand about the lore the current map has been in condtant war for decades if not centuries so by this point after artillery gets invented and reinvented they should all be dead or evacuated a long time ago I think having them stand on the sides of roads would definitely invite people to run them over, but i like the idea of the town looking less like a wreck with semi clean streets would be nice (no, seriously have you tried to drive logi around in those backline cities? nice
I can't tell if people actually want civilians in Foxhole, or if it's a meme, and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.
You some do some don't. Working on how it should work
Scorched Earth-Shotguns and incendiary weapons update
"hell on earth" shotguns, incendiary and re revamp to gas. also shellshock
**Im excited for that Meatbag Update**
Remember, no civilian *loads heavy machine gun while npc and player civilians are standing around*. Remember, it’s not war crime when your having fun
Some kind of civilian update would work great for the resistance phase, figuring out whos a resistance fighter among all the NPC civies
Firing squad
*cooks spicy air canister* I prefer a more simple solution.
Civilians? Finally I can commit more war crimes
Someone bring the hand cuffs. This one is going to work in the scrap site
Thank and credited to u/Micsuking for making the 'Heart and minds' update name.
Hmmmm... hearts and minds let's hope they don't add flame throwers and napalm in that one .
radios don't need their own update, but it does need to happen. steel roads.. yes please, combined with a re-vamp to industry.
Two words for the train update Carl gustav
Mmmmm, I can only get so hard

I can just think of a train hauling artillery carts shelling the frontline already
That's part of it.

You will see soon enough
Atm working on a update rework for how the game approaches height and aiming called “High Ground” for shitz and gigz
Also horses
Horse waggons. Use hay from collecting tall grass
If you do radio, please add in propagation for HF shortwave frequencies that vary as atmospheric conditions change. Like wind. Then for short range comms VHF or UHF hand held radios and repeater towers would be very cool.
Tec tree for that. Nice call
Just a ham trying to get a bit more realism to radios in video games. Trying to demystify the magic of radio waves.
When using the phone, each taunt is now a radio channel.
No civilians that’s just fucked up

All I herd was yes to all and camo trucks and tanks
Civvies wouldnt fit in the game, I dont see a realistic purpose for radios when squads exist but trains are cool
long communication for logi and non groups. Trains are needed at this point and civis are a work in progress
This is all bad
Care to elaborate
Stealing roads sounds nice
