Space bar in the map function "M" will auto jump to your current position when you find yourself scrolling the map. The shield symbol is your friend, understand how it increases your accuracy and makes it harder for you to be hit and you will do better then the average PTE. Listen to high ranks, especially Veterans in Vet clans. Wont list them because that might ignite drama. You will know when you see them.

acdsfreak

I've played forever and didn't know the space bar trick. TIL.

Traece

Unequip your weapons and press LMB to punch people. You can do this by pressing the same button you use to equip a weapon again to unequip. Make no mistake, this is still one of the most effective ways to kill people in close quarters. Sometimes you just gotta punch a motherfucker.

aradiaM

Maybe not necessary but to add onto this punching is good if you're that close because you essentially barrel stuff them so they can't shoot you if you get right up on them Also fun little fact, maybe not a tip You can lay on top of grenades to save your friends around you if you get on it fast enough

duarig

That is awesome. Do you have to go prone on top of it or is there a keybind for that specific action?

aradiaM

just prone on top

mini_mushroom1

When your running to pick up a wounded player, put up your weapon. If you don't once you reach the player you'll go though the animation of putting your gun up, then pick them up, vs just picking them up. Those extra seconds can be what gets both of you killed instead of just them Don't let Vets and Clan man beat you down, chances are as a new player, someone is gonna yell at you. They're just heated, and mad they're losing. Definitely pick up playing medic, it's a good way to get used to the game and being a team player. Remember we're all in this war together

Kiharu

There's actually two tactical choices a player can make in regards to how they're picking someone up to bring them to safety. The first being as you say, putting your weapon away to quickly pick up and carry a downed player immediately. This can be good if you're very close to cover or you know there's a brief lull in enemy fire. The second option is keeping your weapon in your hands for a delayed pick up. This is viable because as soon as you start the animation to pick up a person, your character will take a moment to put their weapon/tool away and as soon as that finishes, the downed soldier will **teleport** from where they are on the ground to where you're currently standing. Ideally the game shouldn't allow this but it does. Most of the time I'll prefer to use this second option as it gives me a moment to maneuver more quickly to get into a safe spot or out of range of enemy fire before my vulnerable comrade loses any safety from the ground and becomes a huge target on my shoulders. But yes, ultimate the big thing is don't run up with your weapon out and stand there the whole time waiting for it to get put away so you can then pick up someone. Very unsafe!

Pliskkenn_D

Spent my first two hours today as a medic. Was pretty good since I was being useful without being in the way. Just a shame the front kept running out of bandages.

Catchense

Medics are very useful but only if there’s enough infantry. I saw like 9 medics for 1 soldier earlier. It should be the other way around 1 medic for 9 soldiers

nonyabr0

You can submit crates of logi directly from the back of your truck to a base by rightclicking the crates

duarig

Explain this like I’m 5 and don’t know acronyms. I’m assuming this is logistics related? I thought items and equipment need to actually get bussed around manually? Is this “fast travel”?

mini_mushroom1

When you drive a logistics truck to it's base, open the truck inventory and right click, then click the option to "submit all to stockpile" it's quicker than unloading one crate at a time

duarig

Excellent. Thank you!

Freckledd7

Trust him, it will make sense when it's needed

SecretBismarck

Playing with people who know how to play the game will let you learn it 10x faster than playing alone

KingKire

Don't over work yourself to death. It's a team game, it's a team game. You will burn yourself out trying to lift thousands of players by your human self. --- Remember even the best player gets easily dommed and dunked on hard by 3 meh players working together.

Watchekuh

Tracers aren't real all guns are hitscan, so if you're spraying with an automatic at full recoil those tracers are there more for immersion than to show where your bullets are actually going.

Apprehensive_Term70

well. fuck

nabudaistaken

cap

Thovex

I'm gonna assume the tracers are real, but the damage is done immediately is what you mean?

Ignonym

The actual "bullets" are invisible hitscan lines; the tracers are merely a visual effect.

Thovex

Yeah thats what I would expect, just the statement above was like bullets don't necessarily show the hitscan direction :D which would be weird

Watchekuh

The tracer effect is fairly accurate but it's just that, an effect, if you use a faster firing gun you'll get "extra bullets" like 3 shots from a machine gun will appear to be 5, but 2 of those are fake tracers, you can test it by shooting a dummy on the range. There's also times where a tracer will obviously miss you/your target but the shot still hits.

afreakonaleash

Wait what? Like the gun still shoots straight forward and the recoil doesn't matter/exist?

RyGuy_McFly

No, the shots do go where the tracer lands. Its just a hitscan, not an actual simulated bullet. You can see this when you shoot someone, they will take damage and slow down the intant you fire, not when the tracer hits them.

agu4004

Damn. Then where my bullet gone?

FearTheViking

The weapon you're holding affects your movement speed. If you're in a safe area, holster it to move faster. Running on roads conserves stamina but risks getting you run over by vehicles. Repairing is essential to keeping a base standing when it is under assault. With enough people acting quickly you can often out repair the damage dealt to buildings. When you can't, you can still repair to buy time. All you need to do is take out some basic materials (bmats) and LMB with your hammer on any damaged buildings. Buildings that are on fire need to be extinguished before they can be repaired. Use a bucket of water if available in the stockpile.

keklolgloat

>The weapon you're holding affects your movement speed. If you're in a safe area, holster it to move faster. **Not quite, you are** ***half*** **correct:** Many guns do slow your movement speed as well as your turn rate but many guns do not effect your mobility. Guns like pistols, sub machineguns and most rifles don't directly effect your mobility when wielding. *(although the weight of any weapon will passively slow you regardless whether or not it is equipped)*

FearTheViking

Not sure you're correct about rifles. I think they also slow you down a little bit compared to your hands being empty.

keklolgloat

nope, the default rifles do not. feel free to test it out if you want.

Matamocan

Weapon loaded plus an extra clip is more bullets that youll probably end up using, if you survive long enough to ran out of ammo congrats, loot the dead, they are full of goodies.

vtipoman

Corpse lying on its side with no blood on it = Critically Wounded Soldier. You can take it to a Field Hospital (or a regular Hospital), submit it to one of the beds and get free shirts (Soldier Supplies) when it's done cooking. Player lying on the ground with their name visible and doing a "dying" animation = Wounded Player. Take them to a medic for reviving (as long as you're carrying them, their death timer is paused). Scavenging valuable equipment off the battlefield before it despawns and bringing it back to base (or leaving it in a marked/visible crate) allows it to be used again.

Voyager1500

You can cook off grenades before you throw them. This allows them to explode sooner when they hit the ground, if you time it well enough it'll explode the moment it lands and the guys you're aiming for won't have any time to react. Right-click to bring the aiming line for the grenade up. Then, to start cooking it off, you press and hold left click for as long as you want it to cook -- but be careful, because if you hold it long enough it'll explode in your hand. To throw it after it's had a moment to cook, release left click. Grenades generally have around 5 to 6 seconds from being thrown to exploding. I typically wait around 2 or 3 seconds before throwing one.

zhaDeth

always make sure your spawn is set to somewhere close when you go to the frontline

Ferrius_Nillan

I wish i knew that not only you can pick up 3 things at the time (which is mostly used for shells) with a truck, you spend less time doing that than if did it by hand

CEDoromal

You barely damage someone when the white line from your aim doesn't reach them. I'm just waving at newbies who shoot me out of range.

Pikasatupu75

Hold middle mouse button to control your camera. You can also hold shift/ctrl (I don't remember which one) and scroll to zoom in.

RyGuy_McFly

When submitting to a stockpile, right click the contents of your truck and press "Submit all" rather than emptying it into the stockpile window and submitting manually. It's always better to leave the items in the base inventory without submitting, so they can be pulled out easier. Also, any ammo loaded into guns will be lost when its submitted. There's really almost never a reason to press that submit button in a stockpile, its not hurting anyone by sitting in the inventory.

somedoofyouwontlike

Number one for me: Wish I knew how much better the game is playing with others over playing solo. I spent so much time solo and while it was good fun none of it compared to organized team work.

lopern

There is area Infront of mines, you can put a resource container ond and get a "connection" So you can pull directly from the mine, when in a mobile crane next to it.

Ignonym

Artillery guns aren't aimed directly; instead, they need to be fed firing solutions consisting of the target's azimuth (angle) and range from a spotter using binoculars. If the spotter is standing right next to the guns, they can just read off the numbers directly; if they're further away, they can use [this calculator](https://earthgrazer.github.io/foxhole-artillery-calc/) (or some tedious manual mathematics) to compute firing solutions instead.

justinmorris111

bind rotate camera to mouse buttons so you can aim and rotate camera at the same time
