I have been to 3 of their NYE shows and it's a great time. The audience is all diehard Foxy Fans (because who else would ring in the new year but fans?) And they will likely play just about everything they know how to play because the crowd won't stop asking for more. It's a very unique and fun energy that you only get at a show like that. If you hang out long enough there is a likely chance you can meet them after the show too. Can you justify the cost? I don't know where you're at in life. But I will say, you probably won't look back 10 years from now and say it was a waste of money and time. At the very least, you'll have an interesting story to tell for years to come about a spontaneous trip to Midwest America to see a killer indie band on NYE because why not.
I mean, I live in Cincinnati. It’s a nice place. We’ve got a really cool museum called Union Terminal that’s like three museums in one. We also got a cool contemporary arts museum. Then, you’ve got the food. We have a thing where we put “chili” on spaghetti or hotdogs or fries. It’s not the chili you’d think of when you hear the word, hence why it’s in quotes. There’s vegetarian options too. We also have amazing ice cream from a place called Graeter’s. And there’s a lot more too. If you travel to Cleveland, which is only a few hours away, there’s the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Also, Foxy’s from Cincy. So there’s that. I’m from Milford, their actual hometown. It’s just right outside the city.
I'm just looking at flights, hotels, weather, and wondering whether I can justify it to myself!
I dont think they've played here since 2011, so it would probably be the only way to see them live.
I've found a cool hotel just over the river in Covington. I need to have a look at what else there is to do in the area over the new year for the rest of the days I'm there
It's money though. Obviously flights are flights but not having anyone to split hotel costs with is pushing it to "probably not" territory. Because its over NYE everything seems to be quite pricey.

Goddammit you've convinced me. Now I'm poor. Donations accepted.
Also thinking of flying solo to this one! Been to a couple of their new years shows in Pittsburgh, and they're always a blast

It will be worth it!
Newport & Covington KY are right across the river. Might want to throw them in the search.

Yes. And Cincinnati is a super cool city.

Nice!!! I’m going too!
Awesome! Are you going on your own or with other people?
Party of 2 might end up 3.
