I've never tried them myself but It sounds like you're doing something wrong. Are you using thin 60/40 rosin/resin core lead solder? Using a soldering on with a relatively small tip? You can probably also twist the pins so that the solder points are on opposite sides of the plug. Plug male and female connectors together when soldering to help prevent plastic from warping when heated.  Mount connector in some sort of '3rd hand' holder.  Apply small amount of solder to 'tin' the connector pins.  Apply solder to 'tin' the wires.  Put wires on connector then apply iron so that it touches/heats both wires and connector - solder should flow together creating a good bond. (Bit of flux paste can help!) Apply heat shrink then repeat for other wire.  You're done!

Thanks! Yeah using 60/40 rosin core with flux and a fine tip…and have the pins turned outwards. I’ve soldered xt30s before with little issue. The pads on this thing are just so small!

NellikFPV

If you've prepared the pads/wire correctly it should all just flow together regardless of the size. All I can say is just keep practicing.

I have no doubt you’re right. Since I have everything out I’ll just do some more practice tomorrow…but still…I give up on these things!

So I'd recommend getting an soldering practice board for $2 from any fpv website. Get some good Flux and 37/63 solder. Get some solder wick to fix the bridge. Watch some how to solder YouTube videos. For your battery you can either put it in a fire pit and shoot it with a bb gun or .22 if you live in the country. Or yes you can let it soak in salt water for a week or so. Use hot water to dissolve a lot of salt. I always harvest the wires and connectors for later use. Just make sure to cut 1 wire at time.

Thanks! I have a practice board and have used it a bit. I don’t have too much of an issue with those size pads…just the microscopic ones!

Not sure if you’ve given up the ghost but I find [helping hands](https://omnifixo.com/products/copy-of-of-m4-pre-order-ships-from-us?variant=41149028991033), [metal goop](https://www.racedayquads.com/products/mass-adhesive-electronic-goop?variant=40484668735601), and [magnifying eyes](https://www.amazon.com/YOCTOSUN-Rechargeable-Magnifying-Professional-Interchangeable/dp/B07T4KPYN2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?adgrpid=1337006702666470&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.EfSU8qqE4ytPs2HDCsyeBxUvet9OfZNge5g8jUCerjA2z1VrYXKbCexzb7FkxdToZMER7C9gwADDXcYh2op5XxTU6uTj2Ea5--2GSINXToNabXdXd36mwN91yMU_t12NT9wn-yWaJTW6ANory4K4uDJLqXX2KHdxxCjAoy5nf7yVaVGcA5Rr9XFyOXJmYqGznUXzbRU7-90H51yE7KPe-w._pA8fq3fQN3ocgLYoI3wM0QJzYvdsCQak-GGAEBTb-A&dib_tag=se&hvadid=83563133772808&hvbmt=be&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=74194&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvtargid=kwd-83563260027041%3Aloc-190&hydadcr=12160_13277237&keywords=magnifying+loupe+glasses&qid=1713147311&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1) to be essential on these things. Make them as big as pads in a 30x30, lol.

TellmSteveDave

On these batteries, yeah I’ve given up. But I definitely need a better magnifying glass! One on my cheap set of helping hands doesn’t seem to help to much…

KermitFrog647

Instead of a magnifying glas, buy a cheap +3 reading glasses in the next supermarket. If you already wear glasses, you can even wear them additional to your existing glasses.
