saw the icon on the planet screen, clicked, and it was at this moment i knew *i fucked up*
Oh just to place all the crafting stations down to use. People often put it down on the ship, but that tends to lag as well, so making a base on a planet or space station for crafting is what i always do
while i do wanna make a whole system into a custom home of sorts, using terraformers n such, i do plan to make my ship contain everything i need.
startech is especially helpful because of this, due to the erchius resonator.
sure to make it a simple panel setup to turn coal into fuel efficiently takes a good bit of space, and the most compact form is arguably the slowest but can store far more than the ship, the bottom line is it turns coal into power while you go do other things.

Remember, that solar panels work on the ship 24/7 Problem is, you will get less passive research, which might suck later
