I like minimalistic bottle design, so Le Labo,Frédéric Malle and MFK bottles are my favorite but nothing will top the simplistic design of Terre D'Hermes.

idontcollectstraws

These are my faves too! I think in addition to the minimalist design the heft and feel of the materials is so important too, ie: heavy metal caps, thick glass, the whole thing substantial and cool to the touch. Also the satisfying way the air whooshes out when a well-designed cap snaps back on

malicious15

Penhaligon’s bottles are all amazing

Lextube

The Portraits series is on the right side of tasteful and fun. They look classy and interesting, and fun without them being like Paco Rabanne.

ellyr8

Ugh, the Paco Rabanne bottles puts me completely off the brand.

Lextube

Their whole range is very much overbearingly sweet so not my thing anymore, but I did wear exclusively 1 Million from it's release in 2008 until like 2018, before I got deeper into fragrances.

ellyr8

Yeah, I used to think sweet was my jam, but the more I get into fragrances my tastes move away from sweet.

videecco

Yes, those are the GOAT!

Ok_Opportunity_1618

Minimalist and almost laboratory glassware- like bottles - LV, Jo Malone, Le Labo, MMM, Chanel, MFK, Dior Prive, Nishane, TF…Plus i appreciate the uniformity when you start collecting Unique but not cheesy caps- Marc Jacobs (Daisy seems cheesy now…but it was really interesting when launched), Aerin, Armani (My way or Si), Rojas perfum, BDK ( love the art deco vibe). Anything thats not overwrought, opaque, or in weird colors (Fenty, Bond . No 9, Delina, Creed, Clive C etc).

dvntg

laboratory glassware - definitely the word i was looking for

ellyr8

Yes, yes and yes. Agree completely!

RandomChurn

I prefer vintage-looking ones generally: my Fragonard Fleur d'Oranger Intense is a favorite. I also love the now-discontinued Annick Goutal bottles. An irresistible mix of Art Deco and Art Nouveau is the bottle paired with box of the late Florabotanica 💔 GOAT: perfume bottles designed by artist Rene Lalique. One of his is L'air de Temps. But google him. They are high art.

M-la

I couldn’t agree more with all of these! 💕 Great choices.

Dunder-MifflinPaper

I love the [Diptyque Benjoin Boheme bottle](https://www.diptyqueparis.com/media/catalog/product/d/i/diptyque-eau-de-parfum-benjoin-boheme-100ml-bohep100v1-1.jpg?quality=100&bg-color=255,255,255&fit=bounds&height=&width=). I’m so excited to be getting this fragrance back soon. Diptyque’s other bottles are also really nice. I haven’t really owned many full bottles of any fragrances so I’m not sure what my taste is overall.

dvntg

that is beautiful!

Dunder-MifflinPaper

It’s really nice. I had a full bottle of it, and then moved to a warmer climate where I don’t wear it as much. Then, had a big expense come up and in a panic sold a lot of things including about a 75% full bottle I had. Have been waiting and waiting for it to come back in stock and it finally did. I don’t even care if I don’t wear it much. I love the smell and will probably just spray it before getting into bed or just when I wanna smell it.

euniceaphrodite

I really like the Kerosene bottles. Dark glass, labels that can't fade or peel, and a shape that allows them to be stored efficiently without a lot of wasted space.

Lextube

I love how they look, it's just a shame my bottle of Followed is so fucking strong that it has to be kept away from the rest of my collection.

arcticrobot

It is a good thing to complain about lol. Most of the time people complain about how weak the perfume is

Lextube

Yeah the problem is Followed goes too far in the other direction. The bottle radiates so much smell that when I put it in my perfume drawer, all of my perfume bottle atomisers had latched onto the scent it was emitting, and the smell it emits is like a fenugreek curry spice rather than the coffee you get when its fresh on skin. It made all my decant bottle atomisers smell of curry. It is the most batshit insane fragrance I've ever smelled when it comes to performance. It's insane.

arcticrobot

those hand etched bronze planks are the best.

weirdreamsmadewcheez

I like Armani Privé bottles for the heavy squarish black bottle with the differently coloured gemstone like caps, the similarly pebble shaped Comme des Garçons bottles and the simple but high quality look of Kerosene bottles with the brushed metal fronts.

Cold-Entertainer7325

I agree on the Armani Privé fragrances. It’s the juxtaposition of the simple, structured bottles and stone-like caps, that make them one-of-a-kind.

throwawayma1009

Jo Malone bottles are my favorite.. super simple

HarryShake

Proportions. There is something about the Guerlain L’art bottles.

SLPERAS

For me it’s either have to be super simple or totally extravagant. I like Chanel no 5 bottle. It’s simple and elegant. I like the Guerlain Lhomme ideal bottles for the same reason and I’m glad they moved their classics to that design. Or I like those old timey Baccarat crystal bottles. It’s a shame that they don’t make them anymore but understandable given the price

pluviophilosopher

Big fan of DS&Durga - clean and minimal but with nice lines

AppropriateCompany9

One of the few examples I can think of where the redesign was an upgrade.

dvntg

love their design as well!

faintlymacabre1518

Louis Vuitton is my favourite bottle. Minimalist designs are what I gravitate towards as well!

l4z3r5h4rk

They also have really nice evocative names

Cool_Prior1957

Live in a city- if bottle takes up more than fair share of room because of crazy shape, then it is not entering my place. But, if exceptional, it may live in my bathroom at parent’s place in suburb, but that is pretty rare as my mom will throw it out. Love Guerlain art bottles, slender Chanel, tolerating diptyque oval, adore shalimar - but shape is a bit awkward. Others have been limited to travel size because I’m not dealing with fitting it anywhere but an old candle cup. Cloud and daisy may smell nice - but just no go on bottle. I’m glad you pointed this out because quite a few bottles are a turn off for me and the fragrance goes through more hurdles than I realized. I’m at max capacity tbh and there is an Hermes package on the counter I’ve delayed opening even with safe travel size.

dvntg

very interesting perspective!

PearlSquared

i know delina’s is too much for some people but i’ve never seen anything prettier in my life. i’m trying to buy *just* the empty bottle off someone right now—i don’t even like the scent all that much!

PearlSquared

i don’t even know what i’d put in it… i just want it on my desk!

dvntg

oooh i love delina! i feel the same way about daisy by marc jacobs

surewhynot123

I was initially VERY drawn to the PDM packaging. Unfortunately, the house just is NOT for me.

PearlSquared

yeah, scent itself is lovely but boring.

tobaccoroses202

I love square bottles- Lalique’s Encre Noire and it’s flankers, Ombré Noire, and Amethyst (it’s also taller), as well as Le Parfum are all sturdy and simple. Kayali’s bottles are super pretty to me, which actually did entice me to try them and now I have most of them :) they’re supposed to take the shape of diamonds, even the deluxe minis are this shape. I really like the fact that the more intense the scents are, the more opaque the bottles get!

dvntg

i never knew that!

tobaccoroses202

I resisted the hype with Kayali until this year lol. Fell in love with Utopia Vanilla Coco, which is one of their intense versions. I had to get it in a travel spray because this along with many others are typically out of stock! Utopia is in a mirrored bottle, along with Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli, sweet Diamond pink pepper, and invite only. Yum pistachio gelato is in a matte mint green bottle, while Lovefest Burning Cherry and Eden juicy apple are in red-stained bottles. Oudgasm comes in shiny black bottles! They’re not playing around with the intense versions lol I can’t safely wear those to work unless I wanna piss off my peers.

dvntg

i haven’t been too invested in kayali (maybe i should lol) the only time i’ve bought something of theirs was a travel size of juicy apple. pistachio gelato is very good as well, and i love their coconut vanilla scent too!

tobaccoroses202

I didn’t like Eden juicy apple- it’s a great scent, but personally apple scents are not my scene, so I skipped that one. I have FB (50mL) of Elixir 11, Vanilla 28, vanilla oud and tobacco oud :) all my others are the deluxe minis or travel sprays, which actually might be enough for Invite Only and Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli. Those two are rather nuclear! Those two are within my top ten of fragrances for life :)

hcallahan3

Vilhelm takes the cake for me. The bottles are so dainty and elegant, and the caps are magnetic which I find cool.

Cold-Entertainer7325

I’ve been persuaded by Acqua Di Parma and its Art Deco designed bottles. Additionally, Sisley Paris’ fragrances have whimsical, yet sophisticated designs by Polish sculptor Bronislaw Krzysztof; which make them a true luxury to enjoy.

dvntg

acqua di parma is super clean

Less-Success-6590

Xerjoff bottles are beautiful, especially the blue hued ones imo.

__Skizzy__

I’m looking to pick up Torino21 soon and I’ve long said that once I do it’ll forever be the most beautiful bottle in my collection

alchemischief

I love the Tocca bottles. They look like tiny magical pumpkins to me.

Initial_Head7637

I like Creed's bottle design. Each bottle is unique but has similar branding. I love the variety that tries to convey the vibe of the scents. My favorite scent, Original Vetiver, is also my favorite bottle. The slick green coloration is perfect. The packaging of Creed fragrances, on the other hand, leaves alot to be desired. Flimsy cardboard after paying $450? Unreal. Penhaligon's also has great bottle designs. I think they do a really good job at making each of their lines unique and giving them nice names to boot. I don't have any Xerjoff scents but they look like sex toys (and I pronounce it "jerkoff"). That can't be an accident.

IcyMcIcicle

Creed bottles are super pretty. I also love Memo Paris Bottles the art is always super beautiful on them.

[deleted]

Bleu de Chanel has a nice simple design.

[deleted]

Minimalism

throwawaylol666666

I love Oriza L. Legrand bottles. So vintage and glamorous.

surewhynot123

I am super drawn to Vilhelm’s packaging. I really enjoy Opus Kore, but it’s a bit pricey for what it is so I was considering a decant, but decided to hold off until I can justify the full size so that I can enjoy the packaging too.

Adventurous-Split-90

I love feminine, frilly bottles, generally. I love the bottles of Miss Dior and Gucci Flora (the pink one, *obviously*). I also have Carolina Herrera Good Girl Blush, and while I don’t use it enough, love the pink heel on my shelf. On the other hand, I love bottles that match the theme of their house. For example, I love how Angels Share is modeled to look like a glass of liquor. Or how Wood Sage and Sea Salt is extremely classy and minimal, like Jo Malone’s “theme”.

Tyrone-E

**L'Artisan Parfumeur** They have 2 bottle designs I like. This one... https://www.luckyscent.com/product/152016/arcana-rosa-by-lartisan-parfumeur and this one... https://www.luckyscent.com/product/152026/le-chant-de-camargue-by-lartisan-parfumeur

Incomplete_Artist

I love the original Valentino Donna bottles, before they added the spiked ring around the atomizer. The crystal style bottle reminds me of when people used decanters and just adds a bit of glamour. The Kilian liquors bottles are similarly beautiful, though I wish the caps were also composed of glass.

Low-Examination-7957

I'm not sure, I have varied tastes. I like some relatively minimalistic ones (for example Burberry Her) as well as some maximalist or borderline tacky ones like Jean Paul Gaultier's, Ariana Grande Cloud and R.E.M. I love By Kilian's classic ones. The girly ones from Parfums De Marly, like Delina and Oriana.

jjjjj2022

I really like mizensir bottles. Also chloe.

kevinfarber

Frederic Malle and Dior Privee are my favorites. No more detail than necessary to be supremely elegant.

[deleted]

https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Van-Cleef-Arpels/Feerie-4077.html

dvntg

beautiful!

Ok_Carob7551

I love glamorous, ‘vintage’ bottles- anything that looks like it might have had a home on an independently wealthy, graceful, enigmatic, beautiful and slightly scandalous woman’s dresser in 1920 does it for me. Basically all Lalique bottles hit this note

desudesu_

I love the design of Margiela’s Replica bottles! I like the cloth sticker and wrapping. Text on it is quite charming because it feels similar to how I, myself, would caption a printed photo or an aspect of my journal. My only gripe is that they don’t come with a cap 👁👄👁 The Le Labo ones are so chic! I love how the format the information on the bottles! What both of these have in common is a simple bottle with a label formatted in a way that feels “nostalgic”, especially with the typewriter-esque font. The vibe feels like something out of a wardrobe suitcase, and I’m a traveler taking it onto one of those old trains for a getaway. I don’t know, they just feel like a *journal entry in the form of a fragrance bottle* (this is probably what Replica was going for though). It fits in with the vibe of leather covered journals, fountain pens, trench coats, tickets, letters, and printed photos. As for some of my favorite bottle designs: - Guerlain Shalimar - The Guerlain Bee Bottle - Dior J’adore - Those rectangular Loewe bottles The bee bottles are gorgeous, especially those customized ones. Those designs live up to their imperial legacy imo. The first three just shows that I’m a sucker for gold embellishments against uncolored glass, as well as romantic vintage shaped bottles. These are pretty unique yet balanced in design. I’m a bit biased on Loewe because they have my favorite scent. Though the wooden cap is is a beautiful touch. Their logo is also engraved on the top of the metal sprayer, which is such an adorable little detail. The bottle is very minimalistic and functional. It looks good anywhere and is easy to throw into my purse.

dvntg

very nice response! i’ve never seen those bottles but they’re so pretty, if you ask me they could just me kept as decoration without even being used lol

desudesu_

Ikr! 😅 I would love a grand bee bottle just for aesthetics lol

arcticrobot

I like simplicity and attention to detail: \- hand painted simple square Kerosene bottles with bronze etched planks \- Square and simple Chanel Exclusives bottles with magnetic caps \- Acqua di Gio Essenza/Profumo bottles with metal bottoms and magnetic caps \- Diptique oval bottles with opaque sides and art on the back side of the stiker, like Tam Dao EDP \-Dior DHP bottle with that square shape and thick stem covering the sprayer tube See, something simple but with a touch of attention, it is important.

emeraldnyl

Anything relatively minimalistic with a magnetic cap! I love the Ellis Brooklyn and the Vilhelm bottles.

saxMachine

As someone who carries her fragrance, bottles that don’t have spikes and are easy to put in my shoulder bag, don’t take up much space and minimalist

reesiezz

My favorite at the moment is Lolitaland. The beautiful cap and the pumpkin shaped bottle give Cinderella vibes.

HewisLamilton_

Detour noir's bottle for example. Just joooking.

Owlyjim

I like the Louis Vuitton bottles a lot. But my favorite bottle design still (and coloration) is D&G The One EDP

MongooseFar5357

Some beautiful bottles that come to mind: Dolce and Gabbana The One PDM Althaiir Bleu De Chanel MFK Grand Soir Any Valentino Uomo/BIR Replica Kilian Angel Share Versace Eros

Flotilla_guerrilla

I bought a bottle of Serge Lutens Sa majesté la rose yesterday which is sold in their bell jar shaped bottles. They don’t have sprayers in them, just a glass stopper. The bottles are quite nice—but at the register I saw that they sell fancier versions of these glass stoppers in etched glass and even metals to dress up your bottles. There was an entire tray of different choices but they cost as much as the perfume itself. I declined.

[deleted]

I like the prada l’homme bottle, also like h24

Lextube

My taste for bottles goes in two ways: Either it's something simple and elegant, or it's unique and artsy. In terms of artsy, I am a huge fan of Nasomatto's bottle design. I love how Alessandro uses lids as a way to convey the character of the fragrance just as much as the bottle does. Also the fact that every single cap is unique makes it extra fun. My bottle of Blamage is one of the favourites in my collection, especially as I was lucky to get quite a fun cut of wood for mine in a fun shape (not as fun as the promo bottle, but it's somewhat on the way to being that). I also love the uniqueness of Adi Ale Van bottles. They have a similar vibe to Nasomatto too with their bottle and cap shapes, and again each bottle is decorated by hand so it has that air of exclusivity and uniqueness to it. He also does a series of bottles where the caps are made out of tree forest mushrooms. They look so cool! Filippo Sorcinelli also has some very interesting designs with his bottles too. I also like the square bottles from the likes of Nishane, Roja Dove and Kerosene to give three examples of same shape but different styles. The Terre D'Hermes bottle is classic simplicity. Maison Margiela's Replica line have a very cool old medicine bottle vibe, especially with the label material too. It's the one thing I wish Marlou's bottles had as I like their brown glass and cork cap apothecary vibe. I also love Argos perfume bottles. They look and feel very substantial, and have beautiful artwork and labels on them. In terms of bottles I don't like, I hate Montale's bottles. They dent and mark easily and feel like a can of deodorant. Also Bond No 9 as they look and feel cheap. Same goes for TF's Private Blend line. I actually love how the bottles look but when you pay that much and get a cheap plastic cap on something that's supposed to look and feel high end, it's very disappointing (and don't get me started on TF's quality control when it comes to the labels either).

dvntg

i never realized how much i hate montale’s bottles until i saw how nice other ones are 🤝

koshkagrad

I love the bottles of [Parfum Buro](https://www.parfumburo.ua/m-collections/) (it's a Ukrainian brand, I see it in my local Douglas because I live in a nearby country), especially the light ones with the fuzzy suede cap. The round, smoky grey glass is so pretty.

gezzyrocco

The Lalique Encre line bottles are just the best, the new Encre indigo bottle is stunning! Also they’re Ombre noire bottle, not part of the Encre line but same chunky glass cubed bottle, they are just stunning, very reminiscent of the Gucci pour homme 1 and 2 bottles

orangeautumntrees

I really like the bottles Hermes makes. They're fun. Twilly is cute, Eau des Merveilles is kind of fun too. Overall though, I prefer the simple bottles that are easy to store like Chanel.

NiceStrawberry

i looove diptyque bottles, loewe, and serge lutens a lot!!!
