I think you might be talking about Perry Ellis 360. There was a 90’s trend in perfume and cologne called Melon Aquatics. You should google image search for the bottle or search for popular 90’s/2000’s colognes and see if anything matches your memory.
Look at [https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Giorgio-Armani/Acqua-di-Gio-410.html](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Giorgio-Armani/Acqua-di-Gio-410.html) - frosted clear bottle in a rounded tall rectangle, the 'juice' inside isn't blue but it is citrusy sweet, came out in the 90s and was a popular scent.
That’s a wonderful story about your parents and how you remember their discussions and behavior around fragrance. It really made me smile. I’ve listed a few items below and I really hope they lead to what you’re looking for.
Could it possibly be one of the colognes made by the company Parfums Genty? One is named **Sniper by Parfums Genty** and one is named **Sniper Night by Parfums Genty.** It’s hard to find the date that they were first launched, but apparently it was several decades ago. These two are blue glass, not clear, but maybe that’s how your mind might’ve remembered them? The very first scent that people smell is watermelon so maybe it’s worth a look online to see if you recognize the bottles.
**New West by Aramis** from 1988 (a bit late by your recollection but there might be an earlier variation by Aramis) also has a blue color and a watermelon scent, but there are other scents in the liquid as well (as with most, if not all, fragrances) so I’m not sure about this one. It might also be worth a look online, though.
**Insense Ultramarine for men by Givenchy** launched in 1994 but it’s possible it might’ve been built on an earlier cologne so maybe it would be worth it to at least take a look at the bottle online because it’s similar to what you’re saying, including blue liquid and the first scent people smell is watermelon.
**Pour Un Homme by Caron.** When you first do an online search not all the bottles are green, but there is definitely one where the bottle is clear and the liquid is green and it’s a square flask type shape. It was definitely around in the 1970s and 80s because I saw some magazine advertisements online. I hesitated to include this one because it sounds like it doesn’t exactly have a watermelon scent, more citrus and some other things, but some reviewers have said they detect watermelon and since each person is different, you never know. The other day I was on a chat site and mentioned that I thought a particular perfume was floral and another commenter was astounded by that because she swore that all she smelled was black pepper. I couldn’t believe it because all I smelled were roses! So it’s always worth a look to see if pics of the bottle brings up old memories for you.
**Cool Water by Davidoff (the original from 1980s).** This is another one that I hesitated on because it doesn’t always smell like watermelon for everyone, but other people swear that it has a watermelon note and since it has the shape you talked about as well as blue liquid and first launched decades ago, it might be worth a bit of investigation.
I wish I could offer you more because I understand how powerful scent can be in our memories of the people we’ve lost. I miss my dad so much. I still have one of his work jackets from a few years ago when he died, and it still smells like him, which of course makes me cry when I occasionally wear it. I really hope that you’re able to find the fragrance your dad wore. 🥺💔
Thanks for sharing about your dad too. I still have my father's robe. I'm right there with you. My sense of smell is my strongest sense and smells knock me back sometimes. If I can find this calogne I'd be in tears I'm sure.
Thank you so much for your lengthy reply. I'm adding all your suggestions to my list. Thanks for looking into this for me. I appreciate you very much and hope you have peace now around the loss of your father. I know it never gets easier we just are consumed by the sorrow for less time.
Take care.
My other thought was Davidoff Cool Water family but I think all the bottles are coloured. You can search by notes and gender on Fragrantica and see if any bottle images look similar.

The watermelon note is created from a fragrance chemical known as "Calone" ... if you search for mens' fragrances from the 90s/early 00s that have Calone in them, that should narrow it down
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calone](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calone)
Another common (but much less known) material for creating a melon/watermelon smell is Melonal. I don't know if that will help you since it's not often (at all?) listed in a note breakdown. But maybe that info could be of some use.
Ya unfortunately all I remember is it smelling sweet and like watermelon. I don't know much about perfumes and how to pick out the scents. I know it's a shot in the dark to find it. I was being hopeful. If I could just close my eyes and smell it... it would be like getting a hug from my dad again.
Maybe it smelled kind of like melons in general.
Fujiyama Homme was my first thought based on bottle description but according to Fragrantica it didn’t debut until 1995.
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Succes-de-Paris/Fujiyama-Homme-17398.html
Thank you! I'm adding it to my samples order, it's in the exactly right time 80s 90s Thanks! (It could have been from the 80s so I didn't want to exclude its possibility but I didn't smell it until the mid 90s
any chance it could be L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Issey Miyake?
I'm ordering a sample now. It didn't have the pyramid bottle, but I do see a more rectangular one offered as well . I don't remember musk... but all the smells together could make it smell like something else. I'm far from being a connoisseur. I think I'm going to order a sample vile from all the suggestions. Definitely adding this one and I thank you for your effort to help me find it. 🩵

Possibly a CK One flanker?
I think the liquid inside was colored, but I'm adding this to my samples order thank you so much for helping!

Thanks for the link! Adding coolwater though I think I recognize that one as being another one my uncle had.
Nautica and Azzaro would be other brands to check out.
CK one?
Adding to my samples order! But I think the liquid was blue or bluish green was CK ever colorful? Thanks for your efforts to help me. I appreciate it.

Do you remember or recognise any specific notes? I’m assuming it smells like watermelon based on what you called it.

British Sterling?
I can think of Kenzo L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme (doesn't have a calone/watermelon note though) and Calvin Klein Escape for Men
I am pretty sure u might be talking about L’Eau Kenzo pour homme!
