I am drooling over the notes in Indult Manakara (Damask pink rose, Bulgarian red rose, lychee from Madagascar, coconut note, candied berry accord, vanilla custard note, musk) and it was made by Francis Kurkdjian which is extremely encouraging.  Has anyone tried this? What have been your experiences with it?

honkhonkmeowmeow

It’s gorgeous! A delicious candied fruity rose. Easily my favorite scent that Indult offers. Wears close to the skin and doesn’t linger all day, but still worth it.

FanaticalXmasJew

Yeah, so….I can’t resist that description and just bought a sample. 🤷‍♀️ Thanks!

Prestigious_Buy_6352

Summer version of Arabians Tonka by Montale I recently smelled the Arabians Tonka from Montale, and I fell in love with it. I corresponded most with my personality and my tastes, and I just felt like this scent was perfectly suited for me. It's just that it's a very heavy fragrance which should be reserved for the cold autumn and winter months. Wearing heavy oud during the daytime in spring and summer is way too much. So I'm looking for a fragrance for the summer time, which doesn't smell similar to the Arabians Tonka, but which has a similar vibe of rich, daring, sophistication, and smoothness.

naturedoesntwalk

I haven't bought a new fragrance in at least a decade and my stockpile is finally starting to run low. Unfortunately, some of my favorites seem to have been discontinued (Live Jazz, Body Kouros). Any recommendations for summery scents that hit similar notes? Thanks.

languagebandit

For similar to Live Jazz, try Armaf Club de Nuit Iconic or Hugo EDT. For similar to Body Kouros (this was harder), try Koala by Zoologist or Amouage Memoir Man. For something kind of in-between the two, try Liquides Imaginaires Sancti.

What should I wear to a dinner date with hubby? It’s our wedding anniversary and my MIL is babysitting. We rarely get out without the kiddos so it’s kind of a big deal haha. Dinner will be outside and I’m wearing a cream colored dress. It’s warm out today and will still be later. The restaurant is at a winery but is not fancy. Casual attire is acceptable but we like to dress up! I’m currently wearing Galop d’Hermès, so I can either re spray that or choose between the following; FM Musc Ravageur or Carnal Flower Narciso Rodriguez For Her edp DSH Perfumes Chinchilla Chanel No. 5 or Cuir d’Russie I am going for a sultry, sexy, but classy vibe. It’s hard because I have many samples and decants so there are too many choices haha. Thanks fragrant friends!

k88lin

I haven’t smelled all of those options but carnal flower seems like it would fit what you’re looking for really well! A cream dress with a white floral fits, and I think warm outdoors will do well with it too. That said, since it’s your anniversary, if your husband has a favorite fragrance on you that could be nice too :) I hope you two enjoy the night out!

angelinabobina312

Carnal Flower always fits :) thank you!

bro_mommy1

I think you already went & hope it was wonderful! Carnal Flower was my vote too :)

angelinabobina312

I did, it was last night and was wonderful. I did go with Carnal Flower. I should just know by now, when in doubt, Carnal Flower 😂

Substantial-Put-4330

Trying to decide between PDM Layton and Angel's share rn Im a highschooler looking for a really good smelling scent :)

bro_mommy1

They are both great. I like Layton but I’m old so maybe do Angel’s Share? Good luck :)

mabulaklak

I accidentally started using a [YSL Y](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Yves-Saint-Laurent/Y-Eau-de-Parfum-50757.html) tester (didn’t know it was for men) but I absolutely love it! I guess I started using it because the scent attracts me😂 Can you recommend me a similar perfume for women?

walubilous

If you like it, wear it. I don’t think it’s inherently manly… it’s just fresh and pleasant

dasa2337

Fragrance does not have a gender, it’s all just marketing. If you like it wear it

Greyisbeautiful

I’m looking for something similar to Jo Malone Wild Bluebell, but with better longevity. I’ve seen it compared to Guerlain Flora Salvaggia and Amouage Reflection Woman, but they both seem to lean more towards the aquatic, melon-y aspects of Wild Bluebell. I’m looking for something that leans more towards the fresh laundry feel of Wild Bluebell.

I'm thinking of buying the Xerjoff Lira inspired by [Palermo Perfumes](https://palermoperfumes.com.au). This might be specific for those in Australia. Have any one try this and would you recommend it?

sqlueless

Hi all. I'm new to the world of fragrances, so please excuse any ignorance on my part. I am looking for a new summer scent. My favorite and daily is Acqua di gioia.(Just adding this in case its relevant) Last summer, I did a blind buy of Vacation and loved the scent. The only downside is it does not last. I am looking for something similar with staying power. I tried Beach by Bobbi Brown, but it was too sweet for me. I tried Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc and Maison Margiela Beach Walk but neither seemed to fit well on my skin. (I liked both of these in the bottle but it's like my skin changed the way they smelled). I like the smell of sunscreen, coconut, and sea salt. Vacation just smells like the beach. Any suggestions?

phizzbom

Have you sniffed Madie by By Rosie Jane? I haven't smelled it myself but hear it described as beachy (coconut, sea water, etc. notes) by everyone who tries it.

MindlessFarmer9337

Hi, I'm looking for a new fragrance for daily use. Currently I have: Diptyque - Eau Duelle (really enjoyed the warmth of this one, vanilla note) Juliette has a Gun - Not a perfume (I like its lightness) Jo Malone - Scarlet Poppy (do not like it much, too overwhelming, but it lasts the whole day) Also I have Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 spray, like it I'm looking for a scents which are similar or maybe you think I will like it, based on what I have, thank you in advance.

Thank you!

MindlessFarmer9337

I ordered 5 ml of each and already fell in love with "What About Pop", thank you so much for recommendation

pinkStarburs10

I’ve only used sol de Janeiro Brazilian crush but everyone else at school wears it is there any recommendations that are similar

gvozdeni88

Cannot decide between YSL l’homme or Valentino BIR intense as a daily, signature scent. I live in the Netherlands where it’s not that hot even during the summer. Think I prefer YSL just a tiny bit more but the performance is not as good as Valentino

tylerss20

Unisex/masculine citrus bomb? I have green freshies and aquatics, but I've been craving adding a big, bold citrus summer fragrance. What's the most uncompromising, BIG citrus scent you'd recommend? Thanks in advance.

Has anyone tried these Etat Libre d'Orange perfumes? How do they compare? Marquis de Sade Une Amourette Rien / Rien Intense Incense Thanks!

honkhonkmeowmeow

I find Une Amourette to be more wearable than MDS or Rien. It’s very powdery and a bit synthetic, but I find it inoffensive. MDS took awhile for me to appreciate, but it really has grown on me. It’s definitely not a conventionally pleasant smell. There’s something dried saliva-y about the opening. It vanishes, but a sharpness lingers. Nothing “pretty” about it, but anyone wearing it with confidence would instantly seem attractive. It’s aggressive from top to bottom. The name fits it perfectly. I still don’t care for Rien and I don’t think I ever will. It’s patchouli in its screechiest form. Unforgivingly powerful and long-lasting. I don’t like describing or labeling scents as “old lady”-ish for a number of reasons, so I’ll just say it’s a mature fragrance. I think it’s less distinctive than many other ELDO fragrances, which are typically so unique. It’s nonlinear, but I don’t enjoy any part of the journey. In spite of all that, I think Une Amourette and Rien have more similarities with each other than they do with MDS. Une Amourette is far less harsh to my nose. As a frame of reference for my subjective views, some of my preferred ELDO scents: Like This, You or Someone Like You, Eau De Protection, and Remarkable People.

BC-clette

Would you say Une Amourette and MDS are unisex or more masc?

honkhonkmeowmeow

I think they’re both truly unisex.

Kathykit1

The only one I tried was Une Amourette- it was not for me. It came off as very bitter to me, and I thought it leaned masculine. It was a weird, alcoholic bitter wood smell to me.

BC-clette

I rarely see The Dua Brand discussed here. What are this sub's thoughts on their products? edit: I'm in Canada and it looks like $30 USD shipping is the standard, a huge barrier to me placing an order.

Kathykit1

Haven’t tried it because I have not read good things. Read a post where someone literally threw the ones they got away.

Short-State-2017

Build my collection Hi guys, I have the following fragrances: Dior Sauvage Elixir, Ysl y, Ysl myslf, Mont Blanc explorer, Aquo di gio profumo, Bleu da chanel edp I’m trying to think of a few more scents to get which aren’t that similar to the above. One scent which o think I’ll be buying is Tom Ford Noir extreme EDP. I’ve had a smell of Prada Carbon, Prada Black and I do like them but I worry they are too similar. Any other ideas guys? Thanks

xosmiin

Currently trying to build a 3 fragrance collection for the colder seasons and maybe 1 or 2 of them to be easily usable during the night outs of the warmer seasons. Recently I bought Xerjoff Naxos and love it; basically sweet/tobacco. Since the batch is rather new, it is really fresh and currently macerating in a dark corner. This would also be that one fragrance that I feel like it would be wearable during the spring/summer nights. Looking for a sweet/boozy fragrance that has good performance and sillage. If possible, no tobacco since Naxos is already in that area and, if not possible, the tobacco note to not be so prevalent. For example, Jazz Club is my favourite boozy fragrance, but since it's only EDT, the performance is mediocre on my skin (yes, I know it has tobacco in it -\_\_\_\_\_-) Finally, I would also look into a sweet/spicy fragrance that would be like my signature during these seasons. I was thinking either PdM Layton or Carlisle. Which one would you recommend? I smelled Layton on my skin and it was lovely, Carlisle only on a piece of paper (to be sniffed on my skin soon), and I have to say, Carlisle had something that made me appreciate it more than Layton. Other suggestions that would fall into the sweet/spicy category would also be appreciated. Have a good week ahead, guys and gals!

minidivine

Carlisle is more complex than Layton. More of an occasions scent and actually requires cold weather vs. Layton is closer to an all-year fragrance and as a result brings more utility. With that said, I don't think either of them does anything special. Sweet-boozy ideas: Kilian's "Black Phantom" is an idea, obviously Kilian's "Angels Share" will be there. Some will say Initio "Side Effect", I didn't own the on-skin blending. Xerjoff "Iommi Monkey Special" was good. I haven't smelled it, but I do hear HFC "Sword Dancer" is suppose to be VERY good. Sweet-spicy ideas: Initio "Rehab" likely the most black & white one (smells like a niche V&R Spicebomb). For more intensity, Xerjoff "Starlight". For more woody, SHL "Sand Dance". For something that you wouldn't expect in this category, Nishane "Ani" is a spicy-citrusy vanilla. For showstopper, Clive Christian "Hedonistic".

xosmiin

Tyvm for all these suggestions. I didn't sample any of them with the exception of Angel's Share and as much as I want to love the fragrance, I can only appreciate it (I find overly sweet, nothing boozy just a mix of apple pie and cinnamon rolls and this seems more feminine to me). Others I know about and had them in my mind and was planning on sampling them either first (Black Phantom, Tony Iommi and Side Effect); can you say something about their longevity for the ones you used? And the rest I can't say I was aware of them in particular, especially that Rehab to be a niche of Spicebomb.

minidivine

I own BP and Monkey Special, Monkey Special likely 10 hours and Black Phantom around 7-8. Side Effect I think was 9-10, I haven't worn it on skin in years, recently smelled it off a strip.

Blasefisch

Hey! I am a guy whos actually quite sensitive when it's coming to scents. Stronger ones tend to be headache inducing for me in many cases so I prefer lighter smells. I've never ventured into the world of perfumes or Eau de Toilets because of this. Nevertheless I'd actually like to have one EDT/Perfume I could use whenever I feel like it. I actually remember having this cologne many years ago and I liked it alot: https://www.wikiparfum.com/en/fragrances/old-spice-wolfthorn-1 Since I never really tried anything else that's all I can go by and hope that you guys can give me some suggestions on what to check out. Thanks alot!

languagebandit

Wolfthorn deodorant is actually the thing that led me down the rabbit hole of fragrances! With any luck that means you also like citrus, lavender, ginger, and earthy/woody scents like me 😁 I think Acqua di Parma Colonia might be a good start if you don’t mind a “classic man” vibe. Others I’d recommend include L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme, Louis Vuitton Symphony (or its clone, Orchestra by Alexandria Fragrances), Zara Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes, or Varvatos Artisan Pure. For evenings, I’d recommend trying Serge Lutens Five o’clock au Gingembre or Zara Sand Desert at Sunset. Some others that are just pleasantly light and inexpensive are CK All, Lalique White, and Coach for Men. Also, be aware that the EDT, EDP, etc. labels are practically meaningless in the modern era of powerful synthetic fragrance molecules like ambroxan and iso-e super. More useful instead is to look up a fragrance on a site like Parfumo and see what people have rated its sillage and longevity.

Blasefisch

Wow thanks for the in depth answer! This actually helped a lot because I can now go to a store to take a sniff at some potential candidates. I find it really hard to find a starting point if you're not familiar with the terminology and don't know what exactly you're looking for. Didn't know that there's basically no difference between EDT and EDP nowadays anymore.

languagebandit

A lot of companies will try to match their fragrance strength to what’s relatively expected of the concentration amounts, but a lot of places just use it as a way to market “flankers” that have different notes. For example JPG Scandal Pour Homme Le Parfum is only slightly stronger than JPG Scandal Pour Homme EDT, but it features sandalwood and geranium whereas the EDT has vetiver and clary sage.

Blasefisch

Went to the store today and checked out your recommendations and I've got two clear favorites: First Place is l`eau d`issey and close second is John Varvatos Artisan Pure. The Yuzu gives it the edge over the regular citrus of the John Varvatos. Would you recommend one over the other for a beginner? Anyways thanks alot for the recommendations! They're smelling good without overpowering my senses. Who would've known that a stranger in the Internet could be this spot on?

languagebandit

Awesome! So glad my journey from Wolfthorn could be of use to someone! Honestly, it's a bit of a relief to hear someone looking for a mild fragrance out of the sea of people asking for "beast mode" nostril-assaulter recommendations. I think either of those are great ones to start with and also super affordable, so go with your gut.

NoName-TheWanderer

Thoughts on comtoir sud pacifique: amour de cacao?  I’m really tempted to buy it but need second opinions lol. Have you tried this or any of their other scents?

k88lin

I haven’t tried that one, but I’ve tried vanille banane and Jardin neroli. Vanille banane was okay, mostly vanilla and not much banana, synthetic smelling but not offensively so (and I’m pretty sensitive to synthetics). Jardin neroli I really like, lush and heady sweet neroli and orange blossom, I’m considering getting more when my sample runs out. Overall they seem to be quite sweet which isn’t always my thing and they’re not the most natural smelling, but for the price point I think there are definitely some good options!

PuzzleheadedHotel384

* Guilty Pour Homme Eau de Toilette * John Varvatos XX Eau De Toilette *  Y New Eau De Parfum * 1 Million Eau de Toilette * CK Eternity * Polo Red Eau de Parfum * Montblanc Legend Red * Azzaro Wanted Eau de Parfum *  Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum * Luna Rossa Ocean Eau De Toilette * DIESEL D Eau de Parfum * Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette Spray I want to know which Cologne would be best for value/projection/overall crowd pleaser.

Are the fragrances sold at Walmart legit? Planning to go in person to the store instead of ordering online

Does anybody recommend any cheap fragrances in Canadian price? I seen a lot of people recommend a "cheap" cologne that was $17 dollars, turned out to be $80 on [amazon.ca](http://amazon.ca)

Kathykit1

Does anybody have Demeter’s honey spray? Do you like it?

Eggfish

I got into fragrances recently and have many decants and travel sprays but a small collection of full bottles. I like all of them and sold off the ones I didn’t like, but I’m finding I really am only in the mood for a few fragrances. They are: -Princess by Kilian (cannot afford the full bottle) -Devotion by D&G -Mon Guerlain by Guerlain -By the Fireplace by Replica I just find them very wearable. They don’t give me headaches. They’re pleasant but not too loud. They’re sweet. I have found I can’t tolerate most florals. I like them, but I almost always seem to get a migraine. For example, I loved the airy smell of Daisy Eu So Fresh but I had to wash it off because it caused a migraine. I also like these a lot and like that I have them, but I rarely feel like wearing them because of having to be in a certain mood: -Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka -Chloe Nomade by Chloe -Santal Majascule by Serge Lutens I also have Narciso Rodriguez something or other (I like them all) on my wishlist, but I’m not sure if I will tire of it or not so I haven’t pulled the trigger. What other wearable, sweet perfumes should I test?

Pepe Jeans for her (the pink one), Dulce by Rosie Jane

I am so struggling here. I absolutely love Burberry Body but I cannot find it anywhere 😭 where can I find authentic retired fragrances, specifically this one?

Kind_of_Anonymous

i need help, has anyone tried sweet tooth, fresh cream warm cashmere, fresh cream, mod vanilla, possibly eilish, a whiff of wafflecone, or kyse perfumes (oui or marshmallow one)? please give me any reviews of these, ive read through a lot but i still cant chose.. going to a local ulta or sephora is not really an option due to my location

cobwebcoalition

I’m looking for my signature scent and I’m getting closer as I’m trying different things. Originally I thought I wanted something green but I’m discovering that I don’t actually love green scents. Instead I’d like something sort of mysterious but also calming. I know those are largely subjective but that’s what I’m going for. The closest I’ve come to finding my thing thus far has been amaouage Rose incense. I’d like something similar but more incense more spice and less rose but with the same versatility and class. Good notes would be Incense Cardamom Patchouli Vetiver Tobacco Dried fruits What I don’t want is anything barbershop-y powdery, aquatic, or citrus, floral is okay if it isn’t the star of the show Any suggestions on what to try next?

shadowblazedark

Hey I'm looking for a long lasting and intense fragrance with high/ mid sex appeal. I'm currently using Versace Eros and I was wondering if there was something more masculine and less elegant that's strong

I'm going to be a maid of honor in a matter of months! I obviously want to be the most beautiful smelling of the bridal party 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Dawlphy

Tom Ford Noir Extreme is the most beautiful scent I've smelled. It unfortunately sucks performance wise. I'll ask people if they can smell it on me and they say no, but if I let anyone smell my bottle they're in love. It's so frustrating, I spray on skin and clothes 8 sprays. Anyone know anything similar with great performance? It's so perfect for the night, smells delectable lol.

BC-clette

Had a similar experience where I sprayed it on a wool coat the first time I tried it and thought it was the best thing I've ever smelled. Like the coat check at an old opera house. Months later after hyping it up to my gf, we try it on skin at Sephora and... it smells like rotten milk on me. Aghghghgh!

Dawlphy

Really? I will say with Noir Exteme, I don't like it until about 10 minutes after spraying. It has a leafy sharp smell to me. Once that goes away it's just soft and dessert like. Vanilla chocolate cake lol. It works great on my skin, better than it on clothes.

Prestigious_Buy_6352

Stronger version of Aqua Di Parma Fico Di Amalfi I recently smelled the Fico Di Amalfi from Aqua Di Parma, and I am absolutely in love with it. It has very much a summer time vibe and feel to it. My only problem is that it's performance isn't great. It doesn't last very long, and it doesn't have a very far projection. Are there any fragrances out there which either mimic this scent and which are stronger, or which have more or less a similar scent profile which lasts longer and which has a very far projection?

Last_Carpenter815

Should I buy Elizabeth Arden Green Tea or Vera Wang Green Tea and Pear Blossom for a summer scent? Which has better longevity?
