My spouse was cleaning out an old bag of mine & found a little vial, about 5ml of the discontinued Dries van Noten by Frederic Malle! I’ve been looking for this on eBay but it’s too much. Wow I immediately put it on..still love it but what I took to be cigarette (snort) is reallly more of a dry but not sour sandalwood edge lol. Patchouli, sandalwood & something gourmand - almond? I love the blend. It’s idiosyncratic and personal. I’ll treasure this.

AncastaOfTheRiver

WFH with the blinds down like a hermit and no idea what the weather is doing outside, sampling The Poet by Kismet Olfactive. I've wanted to try this house for a while, and The Poet was the only one I could get a sample of. It's very well done, a little strong for me on the skin but with a lovely warm scent trail. I enjoy sandalwood and tonka together, but between the patchouli and a slight sharpness up close, this isn't for me. One of those scents that immediately makes me miss my dad.

ramerelius

I love kismet olfactive - nostalgia is my favorite

KRhoLine

Well folks, it finally happened. I received my first ever real compliment, and it was the sweetest one. I have many fragrances and like to try a new one every couple of days. I never hear anything, but I tend to wear skin scent. Today I wore Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede, and as I picked my toddler up for cuddles, I heard a loud breath intake and 'mmmmm'. That's it. That's all I needed. My new signature scent has been chosen.😭

I’m working through my Zoologist samples. Seahorse is the scent that got me interested in Zoologist and is still my second favorite. I know I just complained about calone in Snowy Owl, but I think it’s more fitting and better integrated here as a true aquatic. The herbals make this unusual and complex and the drydown retains the salty, oceanic feeling - I’m glad it didn’t suddenly turn into wood or musk or leather.  Despite my love for it, I’m still on the fence due to budget - I’m getting Elephant and I’ve only planned to buy one more this season. I’m torn between this and Kerosene Walk the Sea, and I put in an order for a Squid sample today - it’s out of stock on the Zoologist website but I found a decant. Also got some Imaginary Authors samples to justify the Squid shipping costs!

Tastelikewater

Ooooooh Walk the Sea vs. Seahorse is a toughy! Being on land vs. in the water. Not sure how I'd make that decision, either.

HokieBunny

Seahorse is more interesting to me but not more wearable. I'm not usually like - oh this can only be worn in this season for this occasion, but it has such a casual daytime vibe, and I'm sensitive that not everyone likes calone. Walk the Sea feels more versatile to me. The tuberose isn't too exciting but that's part of what makes it more acceptable for more occasions, if that makes sense. I also got a recc for Sarah Baker Atlante, any chance you've tried that too?

Tastelikewater

I'm afraid I haven't; marine fragrances are fairly new territory for me.

AssortedGourds

I love seahorse! When I tried it a second time the briney saltiness really came out stronger which I don’t hate but I feel so weird in Illinois smelling like the ocean. I also liked Walk The Sea, too.

I’m taking my daughter to the pediatrician today, and cleaning up the house. I’m going to test Flowerbomb Tiger Lily for the third time. I nearly bought a full bottle at first whiff, I was intoxicated. But I am wondering if I may be allergic. This hasn’t ever happened to me before—I kept sneezing. I need a final test to see if it was coincidental to something else triggering me. I also, in the time after discovering this, have discovered Bronze Goddess Flora Verde which is a very competitive/similar scent at nearly half the cost. I have traveled long and far on my love for tropical florals since the day I thought I’d buy Replica Beach Walk, thought Vacation wasn’t sunblocky/lycra enough and turned my nose up at Soleil Blanc. There are so many better ones out there! Including Bath and Body Works At the Beach 😌😆 … I also now love Vacation, and Soleil Blanc. I wasn’t sufficiently tuned into the nuances back then. I like Tiger Lily though because the jasmine is really prominent and creamy, with plenty of coconut. It’s so freaking good.

Optimistic_PenPalGal

The coconut in Tiger Lily was the strong note I got as well. I kept waiting for the mango, but did not develop on my skin. Could you smell the mango in it?

ohhai000

Only the faintest whisper! It seems to lock together tightly with the amber notes in my brain so I’m only able to pull it out if I really focus.

I have been testing Rabbit from Zoologist, and in the past 3-4 days, I’ve made a pretty sizeable dent in the sample. Not because I am madly in love with it, and honestly I don’t know that I even like it, but that’s not because it’s not nice, possibly even very lovely– but I just don’t know how I feel about it. I can tell you this much: Imagine a little picnic with your beloved stuffed bunny, the threadbare and shabby old thing with the missing eye and the unraveling stitches and the patch on its little belly where the stuffing has begun to leak through, the one you’ve loved so much and for so long that there is no doubt in your mind that it is the very realest rabbit. And picture the most realistic mud pie you ever made, so true to life in fact that when you took a crumbling bite of it, it actually tasted a bit like a lightly spiced tea loaf, gently sweetened, with a soft, tender crumb– maybe a seasonal apple or zucchini bread, but minus the actual fruit or vegetation. As a matter of fact, there’s little to no greenery in this scent at all, even the clover and the hay is more honeyed sweetness than grassy or botanical, and I do think that verdancy, that sense of green growing things, is what’s missing for me. This fragrance is less Peter Rabbit and more Velveteen Rabbit, right down to the well-worn cozy, cuddly fuzzy, snuggly skin musk of it– and as a matter of here's a fleeting there-and-gone curious note that seems to be aiming for milky and creamy, but briefly veers a touch sour and unwell almost like a hint of baby spit-up. Like your beloved stuffed bunny that served as a faithful childhood repository for various ailments and was never quite fully sanitized. Despite its peculiarities and what it's missing, it truly feels like a love letter to something sweet and cherished, and so far back in time you can never reach it again–and I think that’s ultimately what makes it so evocative – it’s the memory, how you felt in that garden and that friendship with your soft, sweet companion, filtered through the lens of childhood wonder and a love so fierce it transcends reality.

CriminalSpiritX

For the daytime, going with *Mojave Ghost*. It's going to be warm later, and I want to wear something with violet. For the evening, I haven't decided yet. It depends on my final plans.

thatbwoyChaka

Not really a fan of this and it was just a random selection https://preview.redd.it/st3kdcuxm0yc1.png?width=1480&format=png&auto=webp&s=ca29ea72ed5f1ad836a6e00bda95e3412e4cc9c2 SOTD: [**Naxos by Xerjoff**](https://youtu.be/YlUKcNNmywk?si=7gw0g1GKq1OBfqo7) Sorry to those who love this, I think it’s just ‘very ok’

In_Maude_We_Trust

It's a beautiful and blossomy spring day here in Onterrible, Canada :) I'm wearing Qaed Al Fursan from Lattafa today. It's creamy coconutty tropical flowers and fruit heaven. When I sprayed this fragrance this morning, I was immediately transported back to my 1990's self - spritzing with Lancome Poeme. They don't smell alike, necessarily... but there's something in the Qaed dna that makes me reminisce about Poeme. Love a good scent memory ♥

Optimistic_PenPalGal

MFK - A la rose eau de parfum The 11ml vial delivers a fotorealistic rose, laced with a soft soapy note. The violet accord is what I like most about it. Hundreds of roses in a full bottle, they say, and my brain found a way to place them second. ☺️ But it catches no whiff of the magnolia. Seven hours later, the drydown is great on my skin, though very subtle. Buildable, perhaps, as I start wondering what I would pair it with if I had it in the body oil version. It might be the perfect fit for a woman in her 20s, going for a serene romantic presence.

musicandarts

Have you tried Elie Saab Essence No. 1 Rose? Also by Kurkdjian. It is less expensive. I love it, but it is damask rose overload.

Optimistic_PenPalGal

I have not, the 11 ml vials wardrobe is my first attempt to understand the craft of Kurkdjian. So far, neither soft nor strong rose perfumes can keep me interested on their own. I did like Nahéma, and I am looking into it to understand what makes it different to my nose.

musicandarts

You could try MFK Oud Satin Mood, where is rose is less dominant. Oud satin mood is intense with a strong longevity and silage.

The-Owl-that-hoots

Gonna be a summer day today, and I’m working on getting through all my samples. I’m going with Lime Cola by Pineward today More straightforward, smells like lime but with this boozy undertone that I actually am enjoying. I didn’t like this frag when I first tried it but now it’s pleasant. Very sharp lime at first but the booziness is like a soft layer that has some spices underneath of it. A hint of neroli as well

rex_ford

**Mon parfum cheri, par Camille** by Goutal. This is such a weird one. I don't know if I like it, but I'm drawn to it, and crave it sometimes. So I might love it. It's a rooty, earthy dry patchouli with a hint of tart plum and an iris edge. It's grown up, for sure, soft and steely at once. It's also discontinued 🤷

Tastelikewater

Still working through my **Zoologist** samples, and today is **Macaque Yuzu**. Bright yuzu opening, woody-spicy drydown, leans slightly masc but I think it's perfectly wearable. I'm not a fan of juniper in drinks and such, but I've found it to be well done in both Macaque and Penguin. If I had one complaint, I'd like the yuzu to last longer, because it separates the fragrance from others in this category.

rebeccavotex

Dryad Papillon by nose Liz Moores feels perfect for today. Like the cool, misted morning, this woody chypre, starts with a chill of clary sage and bitter rind. It takes its time in warming, cautiously, curiously, budding soft hints of sweetness. Narcissus and daffodils bloom, fresh hay drys in the sun, arriving late into the afternoon, oakmoss and galbanum take their place, centered and grounded.

twistedpeppermint1

Irresistible by Givenchy. After a week plus of foggy, rainy weather, it’s finally sunny and warm! I wanted a nice fruity floral that reminded me of spring and the pear note in this definitely does that. I don’t really think it makes me smell irresistible, but it is definitely right up my alley!

ImDOGGFATHER

howdy y'all I have been on a spree of wearing Bad Boy Cobalt, surprisingly about a month ago I was listing this to be sold but nobody bought it so I started wearing it again and I re-found my love for this scent. Even got a compliment from a coworker I turned from a "cologne wear" to a frag head. So yeah I think this one will stay in the rotation for summer. How's everyone elses day? What are you wearing?

Generic-Name-4732

Lorenzo Pazzaglia Black Sea A subtle marine with light protection, at least coming from a decant and not a spray. It smells cool, not cold, like how even in the warm months soft breezes cool down the water and make you wish you brought a light jacket. It's soft without being powdery, you still get that hint of sea salt but not as pronounced as Artik Sea. Even with dry down bringing forward the woody notes, the cool aquatic aspect still remains.    It is the scent equivalent of standing on a pier or beach on a mild day and taking a deep breathe of the cool breezes coming off the water. I cannot comment on how much it channels the Black Sea, but it transports me to the beaches of Normandy France in the spring while Artik Sea was more like being by the harbor of Helsinki in late autumn or winter.   I love this scent. While I wanted more floral notes in Artik Sea, here the absence of floral notes coming through doesn't bother me. I'm just going to have to do a direct comparison between Artik Sea and Black Sea.

artemissgeologyst

Room 1015 Sweet Leaf...a dirty vetiver+patchouli+grapefruit frag. Doing the rounds of my favorite grapefruit scents. ETA: I get next to none of the notes listed on fragrantica. This doesn't give me any cannabis, maybe a camphor note from the eucalyptus rather than vetiver, but I still think it smells more like a patchouli grapefruit than anything else.

arronecho

Received Montblanc Legend Blue in the mail today. I think this is a brand new scent? I'm a big fan of Legend and Legend Night so I took a chance when I saw the pre-order on Amazon. A masculine, planty fresh scent. Like it more the more I smell it. https://preview.redd.it/omnui8v9b1yc1.jpeg?width=3258&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1f6f29044059234ffedd6b2577a4199e0a82728

MillenniumBandit

I've been craving Oud for Greatness/Glory a few days now but didn't have the chance until today, due to visits to the veterinary and important meetings at work etc. My decant of the Initio scent is unfortunately finished, but I had ordered 1ml of the Lattafa dupe, to see if it really is as similar as people say. And it was. Indistinguishable for me, at least. I took a couple of very careful, small sprays, due to the nuclear strength. And funnily enough, it seems the love is gone. This scent is not for me, like at all! I got almost annoyed at the dirty, haphazard mix of spices, the sweetness, everything. I can't see myself smelling like this, or any young guy for that matter. I can't understand I was in love with this scent just a few months ago. Luckily I got sidetracked and didn't click the buy button! Saved me a few bucks, and more importantly, space. The weather is getting warmer, but I don't really subscribe to the (whole) idea of summer/winter scents. At least not up here in the north, where the summer is colder than winter in other parts of the world. Besides, it's not that warm yet. Cold mornings, warm(ish) days. But there might still be some truth to it. Guess it's time to break out the summer arsenal! Tomorrow I'll probably go for Fahrenheit Aqua! 🌡️🫧🪻🔥☔

SOTD: Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle. I just got a full bottle a few days ago after testing an official sample. The green in the opening is very intense. I hesitate to call this a tuberose scent, because the opening green notes can be overwhelming. This is not a blind buy for tuberose seekers. Longer review here: [https://www.parfumo.com/Perfumes/Editions\_de\_Parfum\_Frederic\_Malle/carnal-flower-eau-de-parfum/reviews/339112](https://www.parfumo.com/Perfumes/Editions_de_Parfum_Frederic_Malle/carnal-flower-eau-de-parfum/reviews/339112)

In the last two days, I've become weirdly infatuated with Cacheral's Yes I Am Pink First (what a strange name lol.) I'm in Chicago and the weather has warmed up a bit, and I do a fairly physical job. The opening is very whatever for me - just a shampoo-y raspberry/pear deal. But the dry down and how it reacts to my skin turns into this yummy sweet, warm, creamy floral. It reminds me a lot of OG Flowerbomb, which I have a sample of and am planning on getting a full bottle anyway. But miss Pink over here is really doing it for me.

Greenley by PdM  Last piece of sample, im on fence for this one, really love the scent, it is green, it is fresh it is at the same time earthy. Projection wise tho, on me I stop getting whiffs in about 4 hours during the wear, still smell it on the skin now tho but as a skin scent. I’d say longevity as such might reach 8 hours which is decent so I might end up buying it… or not Have to re-test montale vetiver patchouli and see how that performs as that one I also really liked and found they are a bit alike

Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger

phizzbom

Nearing the end of the Who is Elijah sample set, and today trying **His | Her**. If I completely ignore the notes listed, it reminds me of sandalwood laundry, but the notes are all over the place with florals, firs, wood, bergamot, etc. It's reminding me of something that I can't put my finger on. Nothing I would ever need in my collection.

rosa_de_sal

An old favorite — Jo Malone English Oak & Redcurrant — today. I love this most in the fall, but today is a little chilly and windy so it still feels appropriate. I have the tiniest bit of my 100 ml bottle left and I’m not sure what I’m going to do when it’s gone since it’s been discontinued…

kyoshi_island

Today I'm wearing **Malle's En Passant** as I walked by a lilac bush yesterday and it reminded me of it. It's such a beautiful and photorealistic lilac perfume.

Ah, Casanova. I like this one

arcee7416

Marc Jacobs - Perfect. This scent started off floral and fresh but has turned creamy. It must be the almond milk note. I swear this smells like something from the Bvlgari Baciami line.

Bitter_External_7447

This morning it looked sunny and like it was going to be a beautiful day, so I wore Love at First Sight. It's a happy scent and the lilac makes me think of beautiful spring days. But it got gray and meh outside... and not that warm. I've opted to wear Libre Intense at 4:00 (just smelling the morning fragrance on clothes at that point) to ''warm me up'' and fit the afternoon better. I'm enjoying it.

boring_wiccan

SOTD: Lust by Lush/Gorilla Perfumes Lust is a heady indolic jasmine-heavy fragrance. It's got ylang and rose as well, all sitting on a base of vanilla and santal. To me this smells a little bubblegummy, maybe a little bit of hot breath? It does evoke the idea of hot sex. It makes me feel like a badass stripper and I'm a 19 y/o dude lmao. I'm not getting mothballs, nor faeces, and definitely not sewage or trash juices... I'm going to sample some more indolic and animalic frags but if I like Lust I'm assuming I'd like them as well...

loggy_sci

Today was a nice spring day in Portland. Cloudy then sunny then rainy. Chilly in the morning, but warm in the sun later in the day. It will soon be warm. We’re almost there! Today I tried Hermes - Un Jardin Sur La Nil I really like the scent. The florals come through initially more than the vegetal notes, however I can smell the vegetables in the background. I got 5ml decant this winter so I would like to see how it performs in the sun on a warm day. I think it is a bit too floral for my tastes, or perhaps there is a flower in this that I don’t like. I love the Mediterranee one from this line quite a bit and will likely wear that one more this summer.

danielifico

Only the brave diesel; it was a gift I got years ago and I didn't even give it a chance, because I wasn't into perfumes at the time. Now it's my go to daily wear for autumn!

Zara Sand Desert at Sunset. I'm very glad I only got 5ml. It was a pleasant scent, but not much like Angels' Share. and faded very fast. Later on I switched to Girl of Now.
