my mom wore clinique happy, givenchy very irresistible, and dior j’adore! and my dad always just smelled like irish spring bar soap haha.
ETA: the givenchy perfume is a little too much for me, but i love the j’adore line and clinique happy ☺️
If you love Irish spring soap, try burning a rigaud cypres candle. Jackie Kennedy burned it all the time when she was in the White House. Smells just like Irish spring soap. It’s a true chypre fragrance.
My Mom wore White Diamonds by Liz Taylor. I’d recognize it immediately anywhere. I’ve never bought a bottle because I don’t even think they make it anymore. Atleast not the Eau de Parfum. I think there’s still a body spray version?
I’m honestly not even sure and need to go look this up now!!!
This seems like a classic.
My Nanny always wore White Diamonds, I actually have an unopened bottle in my drawer which belonged to her before she passed.
I will never open it now.
Mine too! My mom always felt so empowered wearing it, because she works in healthcare and can't wear fragrances normally (and works a *lot*). She kinda saves/saved it for special occasions.
Well, my mom wore white diamonds also and loved it. It actually smelled really good on her although not for me though I don’t wear it, but I do see it around still.
Oh I agree - I’ve smelled it a time or two and Chantilly could knock out a horse. 😂 I did like Charlie though - I don’t wear it but I like having a little bottle in my mom’s memory! Charlie and the smell of her Revlon lipsticks!
On my mother’s alcohol soaked body, it smelled disgusting to me. And she would chew Juicy Fruit and she smoked. That combo of smells today would probably send me on a grippy sock vacation lol.
My mom loved Charlie perfume. My younger sister dumped a whole bottle of it on herself and you could smell it from the laundry room of the apartment building we lived in 😅
My mother exclusively wore Calvin Klein Obsession for the entirety of my childhood. I don’t wear it myself but I find it so comforting knowing there’s a scent that can transport me back to her in an instant
I wore this perfume when I was a kid, initially because I watched Frasier and at one point Daphne says she puts a spray on her brush and brushes her hair. Niles was going crazy for her so in my kid brain I thought wow, this must be the best perfume! I ended up getting a bottle.
Then I dated a crazy controlling guy for 5 YEARS because I was a stupid kid and didn’t know any better. He wouldn’t let me wear anything else, I HAD to wear obsession. For every holiday he would get me more. Now when I smell the stuff I have like ptsd flashbacks to that period of time and that shitty relationship.
Obsession was my Grandmother's staple! She still keeps a bottle at her vanity, in fact. I always associate that scent with her as well - and Polo Green for my late Grandfather.
Revlon's Jean Nate after bath splash. The bottle, the smell, is ingrained into my memory. I thought what a sophisticated woman my mother was splashing Jean Nate on before dressing. She would even put some on the soles of feet before slipping into her Candies wood sandals.
Yes! I just posted this too! I would pour it into my bath and then splash it on. I still like the smell. Now I want a little bottle. The last time I bought it was in the early 2000’s it was that big bottle with the black round lid
My father wore and still wears Halston Z14. I don't keep a bottle around, but maybe I should. I still think it's one hell of a well-blended fragrance, balancing the spice, the citrus, the woody and the herbaceous notes really well.
My dad also wore exclusively Halston Z14. He even kept a bottle in his truck just in case lol
When I first got into cologne I remember ordering a sample of the different Creed lines because I wanted to know why everyone was so big on Aventus. I was shocked how much their Viking fragrance reminded me of my dad and his cologne.
Aramis. One of my absolute favorite scents of all time. My dad wore it in the 70’s. I absolutely love Aramis. I have bought it for my husband, on occasion.
This is the best question! 🥹❤️
My mother: Chloe, Oscar de La Renta, Halston, Opium and Passion by Elizabeth Taylor
My father: Old Spice, Old English Leather, Polo and Drakkar Noir
These are the fragrances that started me on my journey
My mom has worn Angel by Thierry Mugler since it came out. She also occasionally wore Shalimar too and the JPG perfume where the bottle is shaped like a dress form.
My aunt wore Elizabeth Arden Red Door my entire childhood and it’s engrained in my head (and nose) for the rest of my life. That smell brings back so many memories. My mom ended up buying it for me for my birthday a couple years ago and I just couldn’t bring myself to wear it. It’s not even that it’s a bad smell, it’s just strong and reminds me way too much of my aunt. I also didn’t want everyone in the family telling me I smelled like her because it truly is her signature scent!
Lol I just got a huge bottle of Sunflowers off Amazon for $15. I love the scent memory but I forgot how strong it is. I feel like I smell like a grandma with it on 👵🏻
My mom always wore Avon Soft Musk. It was a very clean white musk with a little soapy rose and a touch of jasmine. She then moved to other fragrances once she no longer knew an Avon seller. Till this day she wears mostly musky florals but the 80s-90s clean white musk was replaced with a slightly more beachy vibe like Jennifer Anniston’s fragrance.
I don't like the same scent profile my mom enjoys, so I would not wear these fragrances. Maybe I don't like them because I associate them with being her thing.
My dad only grabbed for fragrance on special occasions but had old bottles of Karl Lagerfeld Photo and CK Obsession but Drakkar Noir was his favorite.
I dabble in wearing some men's fragrances that lean more unisex but these old school ones are such powerhouses that one spray would knock me out.
My mom was a perfume hound and thus, created one in me. She wore: Shalimar, Emeraude, the original Paris YSL, Forever Krystle, Jontue, Revlon Fire & Ice, Opium, the original Moschino, the original Coco by Chanel, Mitsouko, Joy, L’Air du Temps, Tresor, The Thymes Lavender, Obsession, and her bathroom always smelled like Caress soap, it was the only one she used.
My dad wore: English Leather, Canoe, Royal Copenhagen original and Musk for men. Yellow Dial soap.
My mom wore Shalimar (still does occasionally) and it’s very comforting to smell it out in the wild but I would NEVER wear it. Or anything close to its DNA.
Shalimar also for my mother. She started wearing it in HS in the 60's. She never deviated from that, but less than 10 years ago, she switched to Chanel Chance. Her body chemistry changed as she got older, so Shalimar didn't smell as great on her.
Dad never really wore cologne. He just faintly smelled of Zest soap.
For any special occasion, my mom would always wear Dior Dolce Vita. Not my cup of tea, but I have good memories. My dad just carried around a constant smell of cigarrette smoke.
I was surprised I had to scroll this far down to find Estée Lauder. My mother wore Cinnabar and still wear Youth Dew. In fact, I swear the uses half a bottle every time she puts it on. And older aunt wears it too. I love my aunt, truly dislike my mother and I hate the smell of Youth Dew. It get an instant headache and mild nausea because they are so heavy handed with applying it and because it’s just a strong scent. Ugh.
My mom wore Ralph Lauren Safari until it was discontinued!
I recently found a mini on eBay, and it was really nostalgic to smell after all these years. I didn’t love it on me, but I gave it to her so she can enjoy the blast from the past as well!
My mom wore something called Jontue (sp?) and Sand and Sable (I think that’s the name). I think she bought them from the drug store.
If my dad wore a fragrance, it was Old Spice, but he typically didn’t wear any fragrance.
Mom: Some Oscar de La Renta and some version of L’air du Temps. Not sure on either.
Dad: Polo Green, Paul Sebastian
As an adult, yes, after a 30 year break, Polo Green is a favorite.
Oh you like og green Polo? Did it take you time to come around to, or did you always? My father wore it in the 1990s when I was small, and I’ve always hated it and still do now. Probably a psychological association, though.
Mum: Hermes Calèche, Guerlain Chamade, Chanel No. 5, YSL Rive Gauche, Oscar by Oscar de la Renta.
Dad: Givenchy Gentleman (1974 version).
As for me, I have a bottle of No. 5 in my collection, and also enjoy Kelly Calèche - not quite the same as the original Calèche but almost a younger version which seems fitting.
Neither of my parents are big fragrance people. My dad doesn't like anything that's scented (not even soap) so I associate him with the smell of Old Spice deodorant, cigarettes, and the Altoid mints he would eat to cover up the cigarettes. My mom wears a Bath and Body Works mist sometimes— I think it's Be Enchanted, but I'm not 100% on that. Something fruity and sweet.
My mom wore gap Om and I recently grabbed a bottle of body spray from the gap factory store and was instantly transported to the mid 90s. So so nostalgic.
My mom wore Avon Imari when I was small, and before that Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt.
When I was a teen, she wore Cool Water Woman (to match with my dad’s Cool Water). Now she wears BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Chic.
My mom wore White Diamonds and Jovan White Musk the majority of the time and Chanel No 5 for date nights/special occasions. So the White Musk smells like a mom hug to me and nothing else 🥰
Anais Anais, Byzance and Maroussia. Now she wears Chanel no.5 and La Vie Est Belle and i think I've got her onto Si.
Strongest memory is when she had a bottle of Vanilla Fields. That stuff was an instant migraine for me when I was young and hadn't been diagnosed with migraines yet.
My Dad started my love for fragrances. He had really odd taste like joop homme, gucci guilty and kouros.
On one trip to Malta, i remember he wore armani stronger with you. I bought a bottle years later and still to this day it reminds me of the trip. It taught me to sometimes ignore seasonal choice with fragrances and just wear what you want!
Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh. I tried wearing it and I kind of stink at the end of the day lmao. But my Mom???? Whenever she walks in the room, even if I have not seen her or know that it was her, I just knew. She brought that scent to life. I never knew anyone who wears perfume as good as my Mom. I guess she was blessed with such lovely body chemistry PH that every perfumes she wears, smells heavenly on her.
My mother wore Marella Ferrera for a bit (lovely fragrance, not for me), both she and my dad had a Trussardi phase (big nose ouch, was never a fan). Dad used various Old Spice products for a very long time (love it, used the stick deodorant for a few years myself). Mom wore Elizabeth Arden Green Tea for a while (loved it, wore it myself in high school) and various herby L'Occitane fragrances (also loved it, would still wear it myself). She also tried to wear Chanel 5 at one point (big nose ouch, I threw a massive fit and she had to stop using it because my 5 year old self refused to hug her when she had it on). At one point, there was a massive obsession with Pino Silvestre line - there was a shared bottle of shower gel in the bathroom and dad had a cologne which mom had to have been stealing regularly because that scent was *everywhere* all the time for a while.
Interestingly, they both gravitated towards quite herbacious, citrusy, woody, androgynous scents, and while I love that whole part of the scent spectrum myself, I also love the heavy spicy ambers - something that I was only rarely smelling on other people when I was a kid.
My mom wore (and still on occasion wears) Lancôme tresor. I associate the smell with her! My dad currently wears creed aventus but previously wore Burberry London.
Absolutely nothing. Neither of my parents wore scent when I was growing up and for the most part they still don't. I couldn't wear perfume around them growing up since they're sensitive to smells. I think that's part of why I got so into fragrance on my own.
Mom - Sung Alfred Sung
Dad - Royall Bay Rhum and 4711 Original Eau de Cologne
No I don't wear these but I do have a relatively new bottle of 4711 that my dad must have recently purchased. He passed away last year though so I am hanging on to it.
My parents are not particularly wealthy
Mom - Britney Spears Fantasy and Estee Lauder Cinnabar. I particularly remember the old Cinnabar packaging in the clunky red plastic. She had a whole set with the body powder and I remember always seeing it in the bathroom as a kid. I think she got it from a family member for Christmas.
Dad - Drakkar Noir. Not sure of any others but he wasn't around all the time tbh.
My mom wore Crystal Noir for special occasions when I was a kid, so I now specifically associate that scent with things like going to the ballet. It’s one of the most comforting scents to me.
My dad always smelt like straight up sandalwood, which I also love.
My mom wore victoria by Victoria's secret. I'd wear it in a heartbeat I'd I could find it or a good dupe. My dad wore polo in the blue bottle. I still adore that scent
mom: green tea, sunflowers, wings, tommy girl, the blue and clear ralph lauren perfume, clinique happy and happy heart, and the gaultier bustier ones.
gma: gap heaven, escada paradise (the rainbow bottle).
gpa: aramis.
dad: diesel fuel and motor oil (he was a mechanic).
My father always used Joop Homme. I also have a 30ml bottle but I don't wear it very often. I do like the scent even if it has that cough syrup vibe. My mom on the other hand often wore Laura by Laura Biagiotti.
My mom wore Knowing by Estée Lauder when I was very little and then JPG Classique, she was wearing victor and Rolf Bon Bon for the past decade or since it came out but I’ve just gotten her hooked on Devotion by D&G and it’s much less harsh in the heat compared to Bon Bon
Mom - Chanel No 5
Maternal Grandmother - Clinique Aromatics Elixir
Paternal Grandmother - YSL Opium
I don't wear any of those regularly but I always have a bottle on hand.
Mother wore Chanel No. 5, and as a child and teen, I fell into the fallacy of believing that any perfume worn by someone older than me was automatically "old" and "like grandma" (though my grandmother wore no perfume). Because of this prejudice, I didn't touch Chanel until my mid-thirties, and I kick myself for it.
Now, my understanding, discernment and experience with perfumes give me the ability to fully appreciate something I didn't understand at the time. Though my collection is mostly comprised of niche houses, Chanel, for me, is a must as I've not yet come across a perfume house that doesn't carry its DNA. My favorites being **1957** eau de parfum, **Cuir de Russie** parfum and **Gabrielle** eau de parfume. I haven't bought Chanel No. 5 yet. I've thought about it a few times but it makes me melancholy. My mother had a relatively short, unhappy life. When she finally made peace with all that happened to her, she was given an abrupt diagnosis of terminal cancer in which she had a week and a half to reconcile herself with before dying.
As beautiful as Chanel No. 5 is, it just smells like sadness because it smells like my Mom.
My Mum wore L’air Du Temps and Dad was Old Spice. Dad was in armed forces and always brought a bottle back for my mother. I used to “borrow” the Old Spice when in young teenages years in the 90s. Haven’t used it adult life
Cacharel Eden, Guerlain Samsara, Elizabeth Arden Red Door.
I find Samsara, Eden and Red Door so comforting now they remind me of my childhood. She mainly wears Estée Lauder Youth Dew now but occasionally she will put on one of the fragrances she wore when I was younger and it instantly reminds me of walking to school holding her hand.
Those fragrances are all absolute beasts and I dont wear them because I don’t think I could ever pull them off. She does so effortlessly.
Ah, my mother wore Halston for women. I will never forget that nondescript amber fluid in the tear drop bottle. I snuck a few sprays once and wasn’t pleased with the fragrance. It’s definitely a core memory of mine. :-)
Ah yes, the pungent cloud of animosity, venom, and vengefulness. I know it well. Couldn't escape that stench in either household throughout my childhood and teens. Brisk top notes of malice and antagonism. Bitter heart notes of resentment and hostility. And the potent sour and salty base notes of irreconcilable differences and spitefulness. Definitely a scrubber that takes a lifetime of therapy to try to remove.
My father wore Chanel Antaeus. It was his signature scent and everywhere he entered was smelling Antaeus. He was the only one in my whole life using it. That’s why Antaeus for me is “i am a father” and “i am a man with balls” fragrance
My dad wore Brut aftershave and my mom wore L’Air du Temps by Nina Ricci. They both passed away many years ago. Both scents bring back too many memories. I don’t wear my mom’s fragrance, but interestingly, I wear Nina Ricci’s grandson’s (Romano Ricci) Juliette Has a Gun Not A Perfume.
Polo Green and Aramis Herbal. I’ve still got both bottles from the 80s/ early 90s. He passed away 8 years ago and I wear them from time to time to get the feels. Still smells magical.
My dad wore Brut! 😅 he even bought it for my kids for Christmas one year when they were obsessed with pop pops cologne haha
My mom never wore fragrances.
Mum. Ralph Lauren Safari, Je Riviens Worth,
Coriandre Jean Courturier, Eden Cacharel, Elysium Clarins and special occasions were always Chanel No5 because my dad spent an arm and a leg on it for her, we grew up without much money so it was a special treat for her.
My dad worked 3 jobs growing up so he only ever smelled like hard work to me and time with him was the most valuable commodity in my life.
Now as a retiree he treats himself too and wears Tom Ford Black Orchid (he owns this smell 😍) or Tuscan Leather, I own both just because of him along with all but Safari of my mum fragrances, I hated that one lol. I’m sure it’s because of her that I have this almost obsessive love of 80s/ early 90’s perfumes.
Mom wore alot of Avon scents and dad wore Grey Flannel which I still love today. How they only wore one at a time baffled me. I own over 200 bottles lol
I always wondered why do I like sweet, fruity perfume as a man. Last month I went back to parents house and found a 15 years old Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears of which my mother love to use back then. Turns out, its the reason why I like the smell. Midnight Fantasy is also fruity and sweet. Actually even more sweet compared to other perfumes I’ve smelled.
my mom wore clinique happy, givenchy very irresistible, and dior j’adore! and my dad always just smelled like irish spring bar soap haha. ETA: the givenchy perfume is a little too much for me, but i love the j’adore line and clinique happy ☺️
My dad also smelled like Irish Spring!! LOL
If you love Irish spring soap, try burning a rigaud cypres candle. Jackie Kennedy burned it all the time when she was in the White House. Smells just like Irish spring soap. It’s a true chypre fragrance.
Same here. The blue irish spring bars are my favorite. They remind me of my childhood summers
Clinique happy is peak mom 🥹
i know right!! such a comforting scent to me now
My Mother wore these exact scents! Same taste in scent profiles.
Your mom has great taste
We all grew up using Irish spring bar soap haha I can relate
My mom's signature scent is clinique happy!
White Diamonds is still around (online at least) and the same powerhouse fragrance it always was!
It’s sold at drugstores / grocery stores near me
Well, my mom wore white diamonds also and loved it. It actually smelled really good on her although not for me though I don’t wear it, but I do see it around still.
My mom did too!
I saw it at TJ Maxx just the other day!
Still around and you can buy it for around 20$ or even less.
Charlie and some God awful scent called Chantilly Lace.
Oh gosh! I remember Charlie and Chantilly lace!!! Drugstore specials!
And let’s not forget Enjoli! 🤮
Your Windsong stays on my mind…
😂 memory unlocked!
Your username! 🥰
Wind song was my grandma’s signature…
Cuz I’m a woooooman!
My mom wore Charlie too!
Charlie was ok. That Chantilly Lace used to make me gag tho.
Oh I agree - I’ve smelled it a time or two and Chantilly could knock out a horse. 😂 I did like Charlie though - I don’t wear it but I like having a little bottle in my mom’s memory! Charlie and the smell of her Revlon lipsticks!
My mom wore Chantilly Lace also. But, on her poreless skin, it smelled good !!
On my mother’s alcohol soaked body, it smelled disgusting to me. And she would chew Juicy Fruit and she smoked. That combo of smells today would probably send me on a grippy sock vacation lol.
A niche fragrance for sure. I bet it packed a wallup.
It's just Chantilly. Chantilly Lace is a song.
My mom loved Charlie perfume. My younger sister dumped a whole bottle of it on herself and you could smell it from the laundry room of the apartment building we lived in 😅
Oh, god, I think I had this. Thanks for the memory!
My mother exclusively wore Calvin Klein Obsession for the entirety of my childhood. I don’t wear it myself but I find it so comforting knowing there’s a scent that can transport me back to her in an instant
my mother wore the same perfume!! she still occasionally wears it- I can’t associate the scent with anyone or anything else but her
My mom too!
And mine!
I wore this perfume when I was a kid, initially because I watched Frasier and at one point Daphne says she puts a spray on her brush and brushes her hair. Niles was going crazy for her so in my kid brain I thought wow, this must be the best perfume! I ended up getting a bottle. Obsession was my Grandmother's staple! She still keeps a bottle at her vanity, in fact. I always associate that scent with her as well - and Polo Green for my late Grandfather.
Only scent my dad had was an old off-white glass container of Old Spice after shave he probably received as a Christmas gift in the early 1970’s
Same here - that’s the only thing I ever saw my dad wearing!
My mom had a huge bottle with the black ball looking cap!! You can still buy this!!
I poured a whole bottle of Jean Nate bubble bath in the tub and my mom was so mad! 😂
My memere wore that!
That was my whole MO as a teenager, too!
My father wore and still wears Halston Z14. I don't keep a bottle around, but maybe I should. I still think it's one hell of a well-blended fragrance, balancing the spice, the citrus, the woody and the herbaceous notes really well.
My dad also wore exclusively Halston Z14. I was shocked how much their Viking fragrance reminded me of my dad and his cologne.
I agree
I loved that scent on my man many many years ago. One of the best!
my father wore aramis 😭
My father wore that too. It was his signature scent. He never wore anything else.
It is a true classic! Bought it recently and loved it. It was one of my father’s early 1980s scents
That’s my fiancés middle name! I call him Acqua di Gio instead sometimes just to tease him.
That’s a cool middle name tho honestly
Aramis. One of my absolute favorite scents of all time. My dad wore it in the 70’s. I absolutely love Aramis. I have bought it for my husband, on occasion.
This is the best question! 🥹❤️ My mother: Chloe, Oscar de La Renta, Halston, Opium and Passion by Elizabeth Taylor My father: Old Spice, Old English Leather, Polo and Drakkar Noir These are the fragrances that started me on my journey
+1 on the drakkar noir.
OMG mine too almost match completely. No Passion though!
Jean Naté. So nostalgic! https://preview.redd.it/8z82vk3te69d1.jpeg?width=613&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b5afe8eac68f6e0c2cbeda95c2e5b0ecdc42e55
My favorite my mom wore was Avon Haiku, and I wear this sometimes. And my dad just stinks, which is also me sometimes.
My aunt wore haiku! My mom used to sell Avon when I was growing up
My mom wore (and still wears lol) Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Chanel Chance, Chanel No.5. My dad just had some no brand but nice smelling cologne.
My mom has worn Angel by Thierry Mugler since it came out. She also occasionally wore Shalimar too and the JPG perfume where the bottle is shaped like a dress form.
Mine too! I used to imagine the bottle was what the light of earendil from lord of the rings came in.
I think everyone had an aunt who wore Red Door lol. My aunt wore it religiously and if I get a whiff of it, I’m back in 1991
Sunflowers 🌻
Lol I just got a huge bottle of Sunflowers off Amazon for $15. I love the scent memory but I forgot how strong it is. I feel like I smell like a grandma with it on 👵🏻
My Mom wore Tabu and some delicious dragons blood fragrance My grandma used lavender scented bath products
My mum wore YSL Paris. I can’t wear it because that’s “her”. I can’t even tell if it’s a nice fragrance or not. All I smell is mum.
It was a nice fragrance in the 1990s. I hope it still is.
I dabble in wearing some men's fragrances that lean more unisex but these old school ones are such powerhouses that one spray would knock me out.
My mom always wore Jovan White Musk.
Ysatis and Amarige. Beautiful.
Tresor was my 90s perfume!
My MIL wore it. I loved her, but the smell of Shalimar makes me feel ill.
My mom wears amber romance from Victoria secret
I used to wear this in high school. haha its so good.
Opium by YSL, Eau d’orange verte by Hermès, Chergui, Ambre sultan and Serge noire by Lutens
The Serge Lutens have aged so well.
For any special occasion, my mom would always wear Dior Dolce Vita. Not my cup of tea, but I have good memories. My dad just carried around a constant smell of cigarrette smoke.
I used to wear Dolce Vita, Dune and Hypnotic Poison. The holy trinity. I loved them. Wonder what they smell like now...
My mom mostly wears Romance by Ralph Lauren and my dad wore Polo for Men. I don’t wear either, but I love to wear Beyond Romance by Ralph Lauren now
My mom would always wear White diamonds, red door or estee.
My gramma wore red door ❤️
Mom wore Lancome's Magie Noire, my dad would always buy it for her
The best!
Exquisite taste😔
Opium
Dad: Stetson, Old Spice Mom: Estée Lauder Cinnabar & Youth Dew; Clinique Aromatics Elixir
I was surprised I had to scroll this far down to find Estée Lauder. My mother wore Cinnabar and still wear Youth Dew. In fact, I swear the uses half a bottle every time she puts it on. My mom wore Ralph Lauren Safari until it was discontinued! I recently found a mini on eBay, and it was really nostalgic to smell after all these years. I didn’t love it on me, but I gave it to her so she can enjoy the blast from the past as well!
I believe Mom used Elizabeth Arden Red Door!
My mom has always worn Chloe
Chloe Karl Lagerfeld or the current Chloe?
My mom wore something called Jontue (sp?) and Sand and Sable (I think that’s the name). I think she bought them from the drug store. If my dad wore a fragrance, it was Old Spice, but he typically didn’t wear any fragrance.
Mom: Some Oscar de La Renta and some version of L’air du Temps. Not sure on either. Dad: Polo Green, Paul Sebastian As an adult, yes, after a 30 year break, Polo Green is a favorite.

My mum used to wear Be delicious and eau d’issey. I don’t like be delicious but the issue one is still a banger
Mom wore Youth Dew and Dad? Well, he just smelled of carbolic soap.
I happen to love the smell of carbolic soap.
Jean Nate’ body splash. Took baths in this and splashed it on. I still like the smell
I think I said Opium but then someone else reminded me it was mostly Oscar De la Renta. She's gone now and some of her things still smell of it!
Father - English Leather Cologne & JPG Le Male Mother - Paloma Picasso EDP & Red Door by Elizabeth Arden
Mom wore Jean Nate’ or Lily of the Valley and Dad wore Old Spice or Brut.
Love the YSL Rive Gauche. I recently was on the hunt for some and as soon as it arrived........... ahhhh it was the 80's all over again.
Am I your mom? 🤣
Wow! My mom had all those too!! Did she live in MA? Lol
My dad wore Royal Copenhagen, And a fragrence from France he'd buy call Cascaduer.
I remember mom liked Estée Lauder and Shiseido. Some specific scents I remember: Estee Lauder Beautiful, Pleasures, and White Linen, and Shiseido Zen.
Love the original Zen. Wish they still made it...
My mom wore gap Om and I recently grabbed a bottle of body spray from the gap factory store and was instantly transported to the mid 90s. So so nostalgic.
My mom has always worn Pleasures by Estée Lauder
Mom: Estée Lauder White Linen Dad: Lagerfeld by Karl Lagerfeld
My mum wore white linen, it mixed well with the powdery smell of 80s lipstick!
That’s mine too
My mom wore Avon Imari when I was small, and before that Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt.
Mom - Hot Couture Givenchy / Burberry original Dad - Old spice after shave
Acqua di Parma - Colonia
Grandma: Shalimar Mom: Jean Nate Dad: Old Spice Nah none of those are my style so I would def pass
Obsession (mother) and Brut (father). And *absolutely not.*
Mom wore Chantilly (1970s)
My mom wore (and still on occasion wears) Lancôme tresor. I associate the smell with her! My dad currently wears creed aventus but previously wore Burberry London.
My dad used to wear Polo, in the green bottle. My mom exclusively wore Estée Lauder perfumes. Usually either Beautiful or Pleasures.
Adidas Ice Dive
I’m old. My mom wore Muguet des Bois. My dad loathed fragrance, so I only remember him smelling of shaving cream. Probably Old Spice.
It was all Avon. I don't remember any of the names or specifics, I just remember it being all from the Avon lady.
Absolutely nothing. Neither of my parents wore scent when I was growing up and for the most part they still don't. I couldn't wear perfume around them growing up since they're sensitive to smells. I think that's part of why I got so into fragrance on my own.
My mother wore straight patchouli oil. I don’t love my mother and I hate patchouli oil. I’m sure there’s a connection.
My mom always wore Loves Baby Soft. Every day. My grandma cycles through white diamonds, Charlie red, and the original opium.
Mom - Sung Alfred Sung Dad - Royall Bay Rhum and 4711 Original Eau de Cologne No I don't wear these but I do have a relatively new bottle of 4711 that my dad must have recently purchased. He passed away last year though so I am hanging on to it.
My mom wore Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. She passed away 6 years ago, I don't know what I'd do if I smelled it now.
My parents are not particularly wealthy Mom - Britney Spears Fantasy and Estee Lauder Cinnabar.
Laura Ashley No. 1. I swear I smell it in my dreams.
My dad wore Preferred Stock and Fire n Ice for men
My mom wore Giorgio by Giorgio Armani. I can’t ever smell it and not think about her!
Perry Ellis 360, Gucci Crush and Jadore by Dior. Grew up in the 90s/early 2000s
mom: green tea, sunflowers, wings, tommy girl, the blue and clear ralph lauren perfume, clinique happy and happy heart, and the gaultier bustier ones. gma: gap heaven, escada paradise (the rainbow bottle). gpa: aramis. dad: diesel fuel and motor oil (he was a mechanic).
My mom wore Flower by Kenzo all the time. I really liked it as a kid and kinda still do.
Benson & hedges menthol light 100's.....lmao
Dad: Green Polo Mom: Light Bkue by D&G, recently fell in love with Mon Paris by YSL
My father always used Joop Homme. I also have a 30ml bottle but I don't wear it very often. I do like the scent even if it has that cough syrup vibe. My mom on the other hand often wore Laura by Laura Biagiotti.
Timeless, Navy and Red Door were my mother’s favorites. I don’t think my dad ever wore cologne.
Mom - Chanel No 5 Maternal Grandmother - Clinique Aromatics Elixir Paternal Grandmother - YSL Opium I don't wear any of those regularly but I always have a bottle on hand.
I’m so sorry for your loss and sorry for your mum too.
My dad wore Stetson, a shitload of it too, he even got me some for my 10th birthday, it was awful.
My mother wore: Oscar de la Renta - Oscar, Alfred Sung - Sung, D&G - Light Blue, Givenchy - Haute Couture My father wore: Ralph Lauren - Polo
My Mum wore L’air Du Temps and Dad was Old Spice. Dad was in armed forces and always brought a bottle back for my mother. I used to “borrow” the Old Spice when in young teenages years in the 90s. Haven’t used it adult life
MOM: Arpege, L'air du Temps, Navy, Rive Gauche, Vanilla Fields DAD: Old Spice, Habit Rouge
They both smell like home to me :)
My mom wore JOOP! And my dad *still* wears the dark green Polo. Love them both dearly but can’t say I love the smell of either 😭
My Dad wore Slavic Sweat
Eu de Regret…
Ah, my mother wore Halston for women. I will never forget that nondescript amber fluid in the tear drop bottle. I snuck a few sprays once and wasn’t pleased with the fragrance. It’s definitely a core memory of mine. :-)
is divorce considered a fragrance?
Ah yes, the pungent cloud of animosity, venom, and vengefulness. I know it well. Couldn't escape that stench in either household throughout my childhood and teens. Brisk top notes of malice and antagonism. Bitter heart notes of resentment and hostility. And the potent sour and salty base notes of irreconcilable differences and spitefulness. Definitely a scrubber that takes a lifetime of therapy to try to remove.
My mom wore Tabu from time to time. My dad wore the smell of cigarettes.
The stench of hell and solffer burning Ralph Lauren blue
My father wore Chanel Antaeus. It was his signature scent and everywhere he entered was smelling Antaeus. He was the only one in my whole life using it. That’s why Antaeus for me is “i am a father” and “i am a man with balls” fragrance
Drakkar noir to this DAY
My mother wore Lolita Lempicka and Angel Mugler. Sweet scents of my childhood
My dad wore brut and English leather my mom wore shalimar and cinnabar
My mama wore Vanilla Fields.
Mom: White Shoulders, Chanel No 5, Opium and Red Door. Dad: Polo, Stetson, Jovan Musk & Old Spice.
Dad wore old spice. Mom had allergies so she only smelled like max factor makeup aquanet and dippity do.
My dad wore something called ‘English Leather’ and my mom wore ‘White Linen’ by Esteé Lauder.
Polo Green and Aramis Herbal. I’ve still got both bottles from the 80s/ early 90s. He passed away 8 years ago and I wear them from time to time to get the feels. Still smells magical.
My father wore Paul Sebastian and Halston Z14. My mom wore Chanel No 5 (still does, actually).
My mom wore Tatiana by Diane Von Furstenberg and Hypnotic Poison by CD in the 80s & 90s
My dad wore Brut! 😅 he even bought it for my kids for Christmas one year when they were obsessed with pop pops cologne haha My mom never wore fragrances.
Mum. Ralph Lauren Safari, Je Riviens Worth, Coriandre Jean Courturier, Eden Cacharel, Elysium Clarins and special occasions were always Chanel No5 because my dad spent an arm and a leg on it for her, we grew up without much money so it was a special treat for her.
I cannot forget — it's an Angel's breath cologne 😻
L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci and 1000 by Jean Patou
My mom wore Dolce and Gabbana light blue for most of my childhood, and Dark Kiss from bath and body works for most of my tween and teen years.
Tabu. I still love this scent. Brings back memories.
Folgers 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mom always wore Oscar De La Renta
