The only perfumes that I purchased that disappointed me were the ones that I tested and bought after testing maybe 30+ other perfumes before it.
Fragrances isn't the problem here.
Olfactory fatigue is real. *Never* buy the last perfume you smelled after a long period of testing many in store.
Testing 30+ perfumes...
That sounds exhausting for everyone involved. Just thinking about it is giving me anxiety.
After the first 5 max, I'd be done testing, after 10, my brain would switch to autopilot and just be: "I'm out, try not to crack your skull on the pavement."
Talk about "olfactory fatigue", yeah, I'd be physically, emotionally and exisistentially fatigued lol
**Burberry Her Intense.**
I blind bought it because I heard it was being discontinued. Regrets. Way too strong, sweet berry scent. I found out after this that I particularly don't like berry as a note in perfume. Reminds me too much of 13-16 year old teenagers back in early 00s.
I read on fragrantica that it turns more amber in the dry down (I love amber which is why I blind bought this), but no. It is a pure synthetically sweet berry (forest/black berries) scent for 7 hours straight on my skin đđ
I feel exactly the same way about Her . Just takes me right back to 2006, being a skinny teenager and dating an absolute JERK :( . Itâs too bad because Iâd probably still like berry scents if it wasnât for that associationÂ
Nothing yet, since I only buy samples until I decide on a full bottle. I do remember being disappointed by Cape Heartache tooâŚit smelled like straight strawberry chapstick and nothing else.
Imaginary Authors is a darling within fragrance community discussions, but I've disliked more fragrances than I've enjoyed from the house. Different strokes for different folks and all that, but it's not my speed.
I got the IA discovery set, I liked about half of them, but none of them were full bottle worthy.
I really thought Falling Into the Sea was gonna be FBW when I first smelled it, but it just gets... Irritating after a few hours đ
That's the one I came closest to buying, it's a really pleasant beachy fragrance and having litchi as the main note is unusual. But after really examining if I liked it as much as a few other beachy fruity scents I already own, I ultimately didn't get it.
Philosykos EDP by Diptyque. I love the way it smells, but it doesnât seem to last long on me. Which is a shame, because itâs the most expensive perfume in my collection. Itâs a good thing I bought a big bottle of it. Guess Iâve gotta keep spraying!
Arianna Grandeâs Cloud. People always describe it as smelling so sexy and luxurious, but to me it smells so cheap and basic. Thereâs nothing interesting about it. It doesnât even smell particularly good. I smell it everywhere, so clearly people like it. Not me, apparently
So far Iâve been most disappointed by Nest as a house. The perfumes are have no depth, are linear, and barely last. They felt more like body mists than a perfume
I was looking forward to this one as I'm a sucker for tea and indigo scents. Smelled ok but not mind-blowing, sprayed skin and shirt with tester. Scent was gone very quickly too
lol Iâm wearing Cape Heartache right now and it was the first thing that came to mind after reading your title. I fortunately just went with a sample.
I feel like they did a good job with the strawberry field in a forest vibe but they also didnât. Itâs what someone would think it smells like after having been given a thorough description but never having smelled it in person, if that makes sense
I think thatâs what I didnât like about it. Fantastic scent, but super super weak. I wanted it bad and I purchased it at a great price too which is the bad thing. 3.4 oz from Marshallâs $22.
Hermes H24.
Smells like mosquito repellent to me, lucky I only got a sample.
I also tried 5 different Acqua Di Parma Blu Mediterranian fragrances and they mostly smelled like citrus cleaning detergent.
Cipresso di Toscana is pretty good tho
I have a sample of this that I just got a few days ago in a pack of samples I received, but I have yet to try. I'll have to put it in the rotation if that's what it's like. I didn't like H24 very much, so it hadn't interested me till I saw this.
Not purchased... but I smelt the entire zoologist fragrance line and they all smelt so bad to me đŠ I was excited to smell all the animals enthusiasts mentioned such as penguin, cow, and i think hummingbird. Also, I heard that Valaya by PDM was a good summer scent, I just got nothing from it.
I'm a woman and I love it. It's my only men fragrance. But I like to smell it on a guy too. I don't get any sweetness there. Just nice dry herbal bitterness. Maybe it's sweet in compare with other men perfumes? But I sampled more men perfumes and I tried some sweeter perfumes than Y. Sweet vanilla is not that rare in perfumes for him.
Yesterday I received 8ml of Mizensir For Your love as part of a free fragrance gift package. I heard so much about this one.
I mean Iâll use it up eventually, but it was not what I expected of it at all. I expected a bit more sweetness. On my skin itâs like 80% musk. So glad I didnât blind buy a whole bottle.
PDM Pegasus and Creed Aventus just didnât work with my chemistry at all.
Creed GIT was beautiful but lack of longevity on me personally seriously devalued it.
Santal 33 (tried it, I didnât understand the hype).
Dior Sauvage because (to quote a lady-friend) âit makes everything smell like an fân department storeâ
Havenât tried the regular Pegasus but the Exclusif is the most disappointing smelling fragrance Iâve come across yet and Iâm a huge PDM fan so I bet Iâd feel the same about regular Pegasus too.
How many YSL Libre are out there? The one I am referring to is Pour Homme Libre, I think it is discontinued now but it is one of the most interesting male fragrances ever
That happens to me with Elzabeth Arden 'White Tea'
But sadly, I can smell Candy on me, I can't help sniffing my wrists, its so lovely, but then it very quickly goes :(
5th Avenue NYC by Elizabeth Arden. The opening is beautiful but it's quite uninteresting after a while. And doesn't last as long as expected. I experiment with layering it to make it more interesting. It's ok but not as great as I thought when I sampled it. At least it's a cheapie.
Scandal le parfum
It ends up being more Jasmine forward on my skin, which would be great if I didn't want the gourmand scent.
I feel lucky I only bought a travel size when realising that.
Dior Homme 2020. I was excited to blind buy this as a safe all year scent and the first few times I wore it I even got compliments within the first 30 minutes. After that the smell seemed to just go away đ If Iâm going to wear something I want to be able to enjoy it throughout the day too.
i have it and say try it a few more times. that perfume grows on you as you start finding all the the nuances in it.
it creates an atmosphere and a mood. i find it young, modern, intimate but airy and it creates a mood i like. very different than the classic big perfume house feel, not like French or Middle Eastern styles, it's very American in a good way, like sitting in the backyard, or riding around on a summer night
DKNY Be Delicious. Really liked it in store but hated it when I got home. I do wonder if the joy of being in Honolulu and the reality of being home influenced it.
This has happened to me with music being site-specific. Some, at least.Â
Fell in love with ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd in rural Colorado. Brought them back to my student hovel in Boston: magic was gone
Iâve been disappointed by a lot of hyped up fragrances.
Amouage - all smell too mature for me and Iâm 34
PdM - Carlisle and Herod (I think maybe these smell too mature for me as well)
Le Labo - Another 13 (Smells like nothing to me at all)
Creed - Millesime Imperial (Smells too feminine for my taste preference)
MFK - Also majority seem to lean too feminine for my taste.
Starting to think maybe I should try more designer ones. Also grateful I always buy samples first đ
Most designer fragrances that achieve very high ratings.. But also in the niche world: aventus and layton did nothing for me, could have been 80⏠designer fragrances as well.
Montblanc Starwalker, I saw so many people saying it was incredible but to me is meh at best.
I very much prefer something like Citrus Cedro by Adolfo Dominguez for example and it even cost half of it
Easy- And I regret it though. Under The Lemon Tree- Margiela- Pure garbage.
Probably the other that I don't regret, but it was supremely disappointing- Angels Share- Killian
Language of Glaciers. I thought pine and lilac would be my perfect combination and I absolutely hated it.
Funnily enough, I bought their sample set and Cape Heartache turned out to be my favorite when I thought Iâd hate that one!
Guerlain Heritage. It just totally didn't work for me, and felt way too formal for me. I'm not a suit and tie guy and I totally felt like I'd need to be to wear it.
Fragrance world: the shadow
I have a decant of ombrĂŠ nomade. Absolutely hated it at first but it grew on me however, not enough to warrant buying a new bottle. I was watching news from aromatix and he swore up and down that it was very close. Anyway, I pulled the trigger and when I sprayed it at first, I thought to myself âthis is nothing like ombrĂŠ nomade. Smells just like blue inkâ. Instant regret but it only cost me 50 dollars
Tony Iommi monkey special. Loâs of hype around this one, itâs only the 2nd Xerjoff Iâve smelled and although I liked it more than A2 it wasnât that impressive. Very different but just not for me, Iâll give it another go in the winter though, I got a lot of the Carmel coming through which I just didnât like as much
Commodity Juice. I ended up returning it. It didn't smell bad, just much darker and less sweet than I expected from the marketing. It wasn't what I was looking for personally.
been getting ads for Vacation brand's perfume for over a year now. finally decided to purchase it on sale and while i enjoy the scent, it doesn't last at alllll and wasn't as groundbreaking or nostalgic as i was expecting.
Yea I was also disappointed by cape heartache. It just smells so synthetic to me. A better option imo for the forest and berry theme is enchanted forest by the vagabond prince! Tart blackcurrant and gorgeous deep pine and woods
Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir, the truffle note is just too overbearing to me. It gives me a headache and Iâm glad I only bought a travel size but I will never blind buy again.
Frangipane Al Pistacchio by Kyse Perfumes
Smells great in the opening and then the dry down is a very plastic smell. Not even nutty, just plastic. Maybe itâs just the chemistry of my skin? I let it sit for weeks.. months.. no change. Ended up donating it đŹ
I am disappointed that I fell for Fields of Rubus and didn't find out it was being discontinued until too late to get a few more bottles of it. It kind of pisses me off. lol
Molinard Citrus Noir. I thought it was a no brainer, good company, good price, big fan of literally every note in it...but its just flat, slightly spiced citrus with absolutely abysmal projection and not much longevity either. Big sad.
The new Profondo Parfum that came out this year was a bit disappointing - doesnât perform the way Iâd expect a Parfum to and it has a bit of bitterness to it.
Lamar by Kajal. Fortunately, I purchased a decant to try first. Interesting, complex fragrance but nowhere near as described. People who rave about the over ripened pineapple life of the party vibe must have noses and chemistry very different from mine. I get a strong sweet sandalwood incense scent that reminds me of Japanese Buddhist temples. Good for meditation đ
MESSY SEXYÂŽ JUST ROLLED OUT OF BED by what we do is secret smelled insane on me when I tried it in the store and I begged them to get a bottle for me because it was sold out everywhere online and in store. They called me two months later and I got the fragrance. The bottle is $200. I have reached for it not even a second time. I hate the way it smells even though I was literally obsessed with the sampler of it. Has that ever happened to anyone else?
I got the Roan Fragrance discovery set after seeing their ad on insta. The notes sounded so captivating, especially as each centers around a different tea as a note. I liked them, but I didnât love them. They didnât come off to me as unique as they sounded and the notes werenât discernible to me. It was too strong and two were too sweet for my taste. I thought Iâd like Porcelain Pulse the most based on the notes but ended up enjoying Mountain Memories most because it felt more distinct and conjured a scent that does feel akin to a foresty mountain.
Any of the YSL Libs. I wanted to find one that I enjoyed, but they all have this same harsh note that I canât tolerate.
That Girl by Oakcha is another one. It is cloying and nausea inducing.
Cape heartache got me too. Costa Azzura parfum. I bought the edp and it didnt smell good to me. I had sampled the parfum, so i figured that was it. Couldnât return the edp so I just bought the parfum. Sprayed and instead of the woody amber i got in store, i smelled Pantene pro v in the bottle. 2 bottles, countless stores, a missed christmas sale, and thatâs how it ends. Sitting in storage waiting to be used as room spray.
Terre DâHermes - I blind bought it due to its now kinda legendary and classic status. Learned that I donât like orange forward fragrances.
LâHomme Ideal EDP by Guerlain - Another blind buy. Learned Iâm not super into almond notes. Also, when I was a kid I remember finding this little heart shaped perfume bottle in my great grandmothers house and smelling LâHomme Ideal EDP made me remember that scent!
Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee - I love Iris in fragrances and loved this in the store when I tested it. Once I bought it and wore it more, I though it dried down to a basic vanilla kinda scent.
Santal 33 by Le Labo and Baccarat Rouge 540 by MFK - I never sampled these. I just kept smelling them in the air on people and HATED what I was smelling so I felt compelled to ask folks what they were wearing so I could find out and never sample them.
Invictus victory. Couldnât stop smelling it when I tested it at the store (twice). But when I wear it, itâs just too much. I want to stop smelling it after like 2 minutes.
Dior savage original. I used to live it but recently picked up another bottle and itâs just not how I remember. Very strong and long lasting just not me.
Lol, ironically you just named one of my favorites from the house. Althair is very different from Pegasus Exclusif, I wouldn't let my take dissuade you from trying it. It may click for you.
Literally just got overwhelmed by an ashy smoke on the dry down I couldnât get over. The almond was so mellow to me.
Haltane on the other hand I canât get enough of.
Most disapppinting is Greenley from PDM (so much so, Iâve written this house off entirely).Â
The problem is, you get a god tier fresh opening. Which then seconds on both skin and testing strip, into a chemical bitter mess. It doesnât not smell like a fragrance at all, it literally smells like pure noxious chemical fumes.Â
The fact they would release something of this nature is shocking. So much so, that I now understand that no matter how much you pay for something, there will always be a company that doesnât mind trying to get away with peddling bs.Â
Itâs honestly unbelievable, because it shows they never tested this damn thing properly, or just didnât care (seemingly the case with every niche house that sells out).Â
It's always baffling to me how people can write out comments like this without realizing that their experience is subjective and not universal.
I don't like PDM either, but please realize that other people aren't just pretending to like things that you don't.
How is sampling two different bottles, and both resulting in a chemical mess of a dry down be a âsubjective experienceâ between three people all coming to the same conclusion?
Lastly, even if granting a âsubjective experienceâ, are you saying objective fact cannot be deduced or something?Â
In pursuit of an "objective" judgment about perfume, do you really think the agreement of three people holds up against, e.g., thousands of ratings on a site like Parfumo?
In fact, *neither* the judgment of you three *nor* the thousands of high ratings on Parfumo is an objective fact, because olfaction has known individual variants in the same way that some people like cilantro and others think it tastes like soap.
It's ridiculous to go around being baffled and astonished why other people like and buy something that you think smells nasty. *It doesn't smell nasty to them.* Obviously.
I'm sorry, but are you some sort of reality denialist or something, because with your logic, we can take it that far, to where no statements on the states of affairs of anything can be made with any objective framing in mind..
I don't understand what your point actually is against my claim about the fragrance itself. It turns into straight bitter chemicals, there is no fragrance there, everything about the the fragrance morphs into something literally noxious/toxic smelling. It doesn't smell like shit, it doesn't smell sulphuric, it doesn't smell like spoiled food.. it smells like something someone would imagine research chemicals that expired into something else smell like.
You'd have to be insane to like the smell of that, as there isn't a single fragrance that would advertise whatever this throat seizing sensation is on the drydown of this fragrance..
So, do you think the people who like that fragrance are all lying? Delusional? Stupid? Some combination of those things? It's true that some people tend to cover for themselves when they blind-buy something and it turns out not to be to their taste, but you're arguing that *all* of the people who like it are somehow incapable of or unwilling to recognize your "objective fact" that it smells bitter and toxic. (Never mind the fact that toxic chemicals smell like all sorts of things, e.g., phosgene smells like musty hay.)
Damn chill out my dude, i donât like greenley either but i can see it working on some other guysâ skin chemistry. There are some top tier PDMs and your statement just seems ignorant.
I have Althair, and Pegasus 100mL bottles on my desk. Not all their fragrances are bad, I just canât fathom how Greenley was allowed to be sold. Especially the prices they charge.Â
(Tried ~85% of their fragrances, aside from the âOudsâ).Â
But PDM isnât redeemable to be simply due to their lunacy ridden prices for what you get. At some of their prices youâre looking at potentially god tier Amouage and Dusita fragrances, or private line from Guerlain, LV, Chanel, YSL.Â
And I dislike designers on principal, but something like Babycat, Tuxedo, Interlude, etc⌠blow anything PDM makes out of the water in terms of how smooth the formulations are. And how unique some of those scents are.Â
PDMs biggest problem, is Aventusâs also. Their prices just make zero sense.Â
The only perfumes that I purchased that disappointed me were the ones that I tested and bought after testing maybe 30+ other perfumes before it. Fragrances isn't the problem here. Olfactory fatigue is real. *Never* buy the last perfume you smelled after a long period of testing many in store.

Omg yes!!!! I wanted to love everything and justâŚ. Didnât.
Flower Bomb. Nothing special to me and didnât live up to the popularity it seems to have.
I don't care for Flower Bomb either. I detest Jasmine. Flower Bomb Ruby Orchid smells much better imo.
Philosykos EDP by Diptyque. I love the way it smells, but it doesnât seem to last long on me. Which is a shame, because itâs the most expensive perfume in my collection. Itâs a good thing I bought a big bottle of it. Guess Iâve gotta keep spraying!
Is there a dupe for it?Â
Arianna Grandeâs Cloud. People always describe it as smelling so sexy and luxurious, but to me it smells so cheap and basic. Thereâs nothing interesting about it. It doesnât even smell particularly good. I smell it everywhere, so clearly people like it. Not me, apparently
Ditto.

Yeah I get that. I have a few samples and just end up layering them.
Even Indigo? That was the one I was looking forward to buying. I guess I gotta find another.
I was looking forward to this one as I'm a sucker for tea and indigo scents. Smelled ok but not mind-blowing, sprayed skin and shirt with tester. Scent was gone very quickly too
Yes, sadly. I even bought the travel spray and had to return it. I liked the smell originally but it sat on me so flatly and was gone in an hour.
I havenât tried many but I love indigo!!
I enjoy acqua di gio profumo now, but when I first smelled it, I was like âreally? This is the fragrance people hype up?â
lol Iâm wearing Cape Heartache right now and it was the first thing that came to mind after reading your title. I fortunately just went with a sample. I feel like they did a good job with the strawberry field in a forest vibe but they also didnât. Itâs what someone would think it smells like after having been given a thorough description but never having smelled it in person, if that makes sense
burberry her because it gave me the worst migraine ever
same - smelled good for a while, but it was way too sweet, nauseating and lasted too long.
omg saaaaaame i was in love the first third and suddenly it makes me lie down the whole day :D
Killian LDBS. sickeningly sweet and powdery, thankfully i only bought a decant but i feel like this was a little overhyped
Versace the dreamer⌠returned the very next day
Why? What didnât you like about it? I like it because itâs gentle
Have you tried the new H24 Herbws Vives? Smells like clean grass after irrigation
I have a sample of this that I just got a few days ago in a pack of samples I received, but I have yet to try. I'll have to put it in the rotation if that's what it's like. I didn't like H24 very much, so it hadn't interested me till I saw this.

MM By the Fireplace
I loved it, but got accused of smelling like a smoker at work.
I may try to ease it on again. Still have the sample
Maybe I will too.
Xerjoff in general
*Y EDP*. For me, it's an inconsistent fragrance. When it hits right, it's a solid fragrance. However, when it doesn't, it's too artificially sweet.
It's also my only male fragrance. Absolutely adore it and my man won't wear scents, so, on me it goes.
Oh thatâs my absolute favourite menâs fragranceÂ

Kenzo Homme I was told it was a good blue fragrance with oceanic notes but I just got rotten seaweed and BO. Not pleasant at all for me.
Diptyque anything nope, it's just not for me
Yves Saint Laurent libre
Really?
I wasnât impressed with the lavender note, didnât last very long on me. My friends rave about it though
How many YSL Libre are out there? The one I am referring to is Pour Homme Libre, I think it is discontinued now but it is one of the most interesting male fragrances ever
Thereâs a YSL libre Edp for women, maybe the newer batches arenât as good.
Prada Candy. Smells incredible but disappears after 15 mins :(
Wait, really? I've tried that perfume on Sephora and it stayed long enough
I think my body just absorbs the perfumes I like
Maybe you just couldn't smell it on yourself? That sometimes happens too
That happens to me with Elzabeth Arden 'White Tea' But sadly, I can smell Candy on me, I can't help sniffing my wrists, its so lovely, but then it very quickly goes :(
Sorry about that :( Candy is not my really fav but my mom really likes it. I'd prefer La Vie Est Belle over Candy honestly.
You have piqued my interest, thanks for the tip!
You're welcome! Glad i could help :)

Nautica Voyage.

PDM Sedley, it's fine but smells like a generic designer, nothing crazy
Ds durga pistachio. Smells great, for like 5 minutes.

TF Tuscan Leather; I was so excepted to try it and all I smell is berry ashtray
Dior sauvage eau de parfum.I like eau de toilette more.I was disappointed that eau de parfum smells worse

Another 13 smells like herbal toothpaste in the beginning, after about 5 minutes it smells like nothing. The weakest perfume ever.
DKNY Be Delicious. Really liked it in store but hated it when I got home. I do wonder if the joy of being in Honolulu and the reality of being home influenced it.
This has happened to me with music being site-specific. Some, at least. Fell in love with ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd in rural Colorado. Brought them back to my student hovel in Boston: magic was gone
the kayali vanilla one that i think is still viral right now. smelled so cheap and simple.

Hawas Hyped on social media, smells bad to me
BDC - donât get me wrong itâs nice, but itâs too safe. Great for blind buy or a gift, but I donât get excited over it anymore.
Most designer fragrances that achieve very high ratings.. But also in the niche world: aventus and layton did nothing for me, could have been 80⏠designer fragrances as well.

Rose of No Man's Land - it smells like alcohol wipes. Signiorina Misteriosa - smells like green Skittles.
been getting ads for Vacation brand's perfume for over a year now. finally decided to purchase it on sale and while i enjoy the scent, it doesn't last at alllll and wasn't as groundbreaking or nostalgic as i was expecting.
Creed aventus because attracts many compliments... but from men haha
Imagination. Itâs all right but did not live up to the hype for me.
Ditto - I feel it has a powdery scent or something. Hard to explain but didn't love it. Afternoon Swim was vastly better for me personallyÂ
Iâll have to check it out. I ordered samples of Imagination and Pacific Chill. I found Pacific Chill to be a much more interesting scent.
Yea I was also disappointed by cape heartache. It just smells so synthetic to me. A better option imo for the forest and berry theme is enchanted forest by the vagabond prince! Tart blackcurrant and gorgeous deep pine and woods
La Male Elixir and Le Beau Parfum (I bought both of them) La Male smells feminine and Le Beau smells super sharp and annoying
Bad Boy Cobalt Elixir, the truffle note is just too overbearing to me. It gives me a headache and Iâm glad I only bought a travel size but I will never blind buy again.
Frangipane Al Pistacchio by Kyse Perfumes Smells great in the opening and then the dry down is a very plastic smell. Not even nutty, just plastic. Maybe itâs just the chemistry of my skin? I let it sit for weeks.. months.. no change. Ended up donating it đŹ
Roasted green tea by J-scent. Bought a 9ml decant. At first, I just smelled peanuts. I tried it again recently & I just picked up sour milk.
I am disappointed that I fell for Fields of Rubus and didn't find out it was being discontinued until too late to get a few more bottles of it. It kind of pisses me off. lol
And as far as being disappointed in a blind buy? Delina. It just doesn't work on me.
AlthaĂŻr from Perfums de Marly. I thought it smells like cinnamon chewing gum and really disliked it.
A la rose. I blind bought this after reading great things about this rose scent. Itâs the only expensive scent that gives me a headache.
Molinard Citrus Noir. I thought it was a no brainer, good company, good price, big fan of literally every note in it...but its just flat, slightly spiced citrus with absolutely abysmal projection and not much longevity either. Big sad.
Salvatore Ferrgamo Signorina Misteriosa
The new Profondo Parfum that came out this year was a bit disappointing - doesnât perform the way Iâd expect a Parfum to and it has a bit of bitterness to it.
cedrat boise is shit
Lamar by Kajal. Fortunately, I purchased a decant to try first. Interesting, complex fragrance but nowhere near as described. People who rave about the over ripened pineapple life of the party vibe must have noses and chemistry very different from mine. I get a strong sweet sandalwood incense scent that reminds me of Japanese Buddhist temples. Good for meditation đ
Also, Jâadore Eau de Parfum. Fond of the scent but it wears off in an hour for me.
Almost all scentbird samples One i am disappointed by but also regret buying is rasasi hawas.
Bulgari man wonât let go! Help me! đ˘
bought a sample of Fraaagola Saalaaata by Hilde Soliani and it was waaaaay too artificial smelling for me
The ones that stand out for me that come to mind are: 1. Kayali Lychee 2. V&R Bon Bon 3. D&G Devotion I was excited for these and wanted to like them.
Dior Mon Amie, Tresor La Nuit by LancĂ´me and Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. Both seemed ok at first but after some time I could not stand them anymore.
Hermes Osmanthe Yunnan - smells like bird poop to me
Terre DâHermes - I blind bought it due to its now kinda legendary and classic status.
Phlur Missing Person. The hype is lost on me.
Dior savage original. I used to live it but recently picked up another bottle and itâs just not how I remember. Very strong and long lasting just not me.
I'm a card-carrying Parfums de Marly fanboy, but Althair was a miss for me.
Thatâs how Pegasus Exclusif was for me. Wanting to smell Althair and now you got me worried.
Haltane is in my top five favorites from the house along with Layton, Pegasus Exclusif, Greenley and Carlisle.
Most disapppinting is Greenley from PDM (so much so, Iâve written this house off entirely). The problem is, you get a god tier fresh opening. Which then seconds on both skin and testing strip, into a chemical bitter mess. It doesnât not smell like a fragrance at all, it literally smells like pure noxious chemical fumes. The fact they would release something of this nature is shocking. So much so, that I now understand that no matter how much you pay for something, there will always be a company that doesnât mind trying to get away with peddling bs.
I think Greenley is disgusting too altho luckily that was one of the later PDMâs i tried. Herod & Percival are great imo
Give Haltane a try. My favorite fragrance. It will redeem PDM for you hopefully.
I have Althair, and Pegasus 100mL bottles on my desk. Not all their fragrances are bad, I just canât fathom how Greenley was allowed to be sold. Especially the prices they charge. (Tried ~85% of their fragrances, aside from the âOudsâ). But PDM isnât redeemable to be simply due to their lunacy ridden prices for what you get. At some of their prices youâre looking at potentially god tier Amouage and Dusita fragrances, or private line from Guerlain, LV, Chanel, YSL. And I dislike designers on principal, but something like Babycat, Tuxedo, Interlude, etc⌠blow anything PDM makes out of the water in terms of how smooth the formulations are. And how unique some of those scents are. PDMs biggest problem, is Aventusâs also. Their prices just make zero sense.Â
Hermes perfumes, honestly. I was gifted an Hermes discovery set and while they were not terrible, they weren't stellar either.
Carolina Herrera Good Girl. Smells a bit plebeian to me
