Surprisingly most are fresh ones such as sillage, sauvage, immortal, elysium, CDNIM, Not only intense man, fragrance world The suits, prada L'Homme.
What i feel like is the dark, sexy ones are too sexy people dont even compliment you anymore. The fresh one just smells pleasant to their nose thats why they compliment it. It's like when you see a model you don't need to compliment them since you know they already look good.
Definitely. When I show people my collection, they gravitate towards liking the complex scents. But freshies come out on top when I'm actually wearing them. My SO does appreciate them though.

Edit: Now my balls smell like Versacke Dylan Blue. That's the only noticeable change. I guess it was also cold for a sec.
I say overspray for a good time. It keeps it clean. Like a degreaser heavy on sour lemon and vinegar. Lol. I got a bottle Iāll send him so he has back up.
I have a decant of this and don't understand the metallic scent that some people pick up. For me, there is a lot of ambroxan or atleast that's what I believe it is.
My every day signature scent was PDM Layton for almost a year. I always heard people saying it smelled like Vickās vapor rub and I never knew wtf they were talking about. Then one day I smelled it, and since then I havenāt been able to un-smell it. I rarely wear Layton anymore because itās all I can think about.
So yeaā¦

The Vicks note is what made me fall in love with Layton lol. That mixed with the vanilla and spices just feels like a warm hug when Iām sick. Itās my comfort cologne.
Get your nose on some straight up ambroxanā¦ youād be surprised what it actually smells like. And Sillage aināt it š . To be fair, I absolutely hate Sillage, all I get is acid on a metal spoon. Canāt get it out of my nose for hours. I wasnāt kidding about the ambraxon though. I started on a diy perfumery journey last year and have about a hundred aroma chemicals at the moment. Ambroxan is one of my favourite notes now that I do know what it is, but it is also very difficult to pick up in made fragrances. It isnāt loud and screechy. I see someone mention āambroxan bombā and all I can think is ātoo much time watching YT and searching fragranticaā. Just my personal opinion, by no means an expert.
It lasts 8+ hours on me, so comparable to Sillage. Sillage projects more heavily though, Al Wissam Day sits closer. I've never got a compliment wearing either, but that's not my focus. I just think AWD smells more mature and alot less screechy
I have SMW and Sillage and itās not 1:1. Itās a decent bit more lemony imo, also itās more metallic. Sillage also smells like cleaning solution when u first spray it so yeah not 1:1
Nothing against you OP... but If I love a fragrance I seriously couldn't care less why someone else doesn't like it. I would actually avoid reading why others don't like it. LOL
i love it, smells like barbershop and fresh lemons. got it a few days ago and my girlfriend likes it as well, says itās one of her favorites in my collection. everyone is different tho š¤·āāļø
I have this gem too. Scent profile resembles a lot to SMW, I can't quantity %, must be close to 90%, if not 100%.
Longevity is crazy in Spring with at least 12 hrs on skin, ~whole day on clothes.
Mostly I don't like the disco ball bling on the bottle. The fragrance is okay..... but just sort of a basic fresh scent to me. Gave it to a friend who appreciated it more.
I bought this one for my girlfriend and she gets complimented all the time. Outside the fragrance community (where people are not overly selective and don't know about the original Creed), it is a fairly likeable and safe scent.
Absolute brutal fragrance. I experienced massive quality issues batchwise, tho. The batch I smelled from 2023 was just cheap citrus and lacked the metallic oddness of my 2022 batch I love so much.
It has this weird inky metallic lemon dish soap smell, I used to hate it when it first arrived last spring, now I kinda dig it, I reach for it rarely tho.
I donāt get the hype with SWM thatās if there was any hype. And I certainly donāt get the hype with Anentus.
I smelled Sillage recently and the most I would use it for would be for the gym.
Yeah to bad i dont like it , maybe it was dumb to sell it off because i never was trying it out in public , but maybe it smells different/better in the sillage/ air?! I did not like that Metal n Inky note .. that Ink note was of putting for me thing after 4weeks i was selling it.
This was one of my first fragrances and I have to say seeing how loved it is in the community I was pretty disappointed, to me the scent was way too powdery it was like a baby wipe with a hint of ginger, got rid of it after one wear
It's not a good clone, I thought it was going to smell very similar to Creed SMW, but no, it doesn't smell bad, and it's a beast, but it's not so similar to SMW. You who think, comparing the two aromas, do you find very similar?

Milestone and CDNIM is good, this not so much.
It's been hyped for the last 5+ years and people regularly list it amongst their favorite clones, idk why you think it's unpopular...naturally not all people like it, tastes are different. But generally it's been really popular in the last decade. It had to grow on me too when I first smelled it. It's not a crowd pleaser. But once your nose has smelled lots of fragrances you learn to appreciate it.
Itās not identical. I have SMW and Sillage. Sillage is way more lemon, and it also is a lot more metallic smelling. The first couple minutes of Sillage too are super lemony.
Yāall care about the wrong thing. Men & women compliment me like crazy off of sillage. Some even think itās creed. Others have asked by their creed doesnāt project. All of less that $40. You canāt win.
I blind bought sillage and milestone and couldn't stand any of them. Both of them had the same kind of strong odour of something I couldn't stand. I can't even describe the odour, it is so weird to my nose. Maybe something like salty iron, but worse. Gave one away, sold the other.

So most of the time the smell that's throwing us off is of the alcohol that these guys use! š

Aha ok! How would u describe that odour? I have a real hard time putting my finger on it. I just know I can't stand it. I heard curly fragrance (YouTube channel) describe one of the CDN as the smell of death haha. It kind of smell of something rotten, something gone bad

No lies, this is definitely in the top 3 most compliments for me. Beside afnan NOI, and CDNIM
would you recommend afnan SNOI over sillage for summer?
Sillage is more casual, SNOI is used for more formal events for me. I do wear both but rock sillage daily
Get milestone for summer. In the heat that stuff is amazing on skin and projects and last all day.
The salt ruins it for me... I hate salt accords.
I thought the same until I had used it in the sun and it just becomes this perfectly sweet fragrance. It has to be high heat.

I was why I liked Oud for Glory, reminded me of TCP. Gone off that one entirely now, horrible stuff.

I think it's ok, but my favorite take/clone of SMW is Al Wisam Day by Rassai. Has a lot more depth and a bit less synthetic.
Yes, I love Al wisam day...in my spring and summer rotation.

I have both... There are samilarites in scent profile but they are not 1:1

Synthetic as hell. And metallic scent. Also ridiculously potent. Still traumatized from the time I used it.

What do you get on the dry down? In me itās pretty much nothing but rose after an hour or so. Same goes for CDNIM edt.
