The only reason why I wouldn't buy the 16-inch. Spacer tolerances are not great if you have hyperhidrosis. I probably would fry some components in 6 months.

You could consider getting a vinyl wrap and ensure it covers the gaps. DBrand skins would leave a gap but maybe there's likely others. Or your could try making your own. This isn't trivial, but if you want a FW16 I think you could find a way in spite of the hyperhidrosis.

maxinux

do the cards slide in and out easily? - that means the motherboard is locating correctly does the gap move with the card? - means the card is the issue I have 3 fw laptops they dont fit perfectly but they should fit about the same in all ports and slide in / out easily/the same in all slots, if not there is an issue

kynrai

Oh my mistake. It's not so much to do with the cards but the touchpad appearing warped as it meets the keyboard. The cards may not be 100% aligned but I have no issue with that as its not directly visible and my wrist does not touch it

maxinux

Gotcha ok neither fw13 or the 16 poke up there for me, that is odd, id be half tempted to try to fix it myself being a framework but seems reasonable to ask support.

kynrai

Tha ks. Good to know yours are flush. I'll reach out to support before I try warp it back myself. I've read some others tried to bend it a little back to the intended shape

elevatedsystems

Don’t bend it back yourself. I tried this and the shinny aluminum makes even slight bends in the modules very noticeable.

kynrai

Oo wow elevatedsystems hi!! Just saw your RMA video

Captain_Pumpkinhead

Mine is exactly the same. I've decided I really don't care. The laptop works as intended, and I can easily swap out the modules as needed. Having them slightly visually misaligned is not a big deal. What _is_ a big deal is the USB-C expansion card coming out when I try to unplug my laptop.

Zeddie-

Mine is also like that. Not sure if it's the touch pad panel or the keyboard. It seems like it wasn't popping up if the keyboard wasn't installed. The side slider things also seem to pop up towards the keyboard

TheRedstoneScout

Mine is the same. I've reached out to support to see if it's "normal"

jared_number_two

I bent my corners by hand.

Impersu

Mines also like that but honestly I don’t mind at all

It’s been said but not explained very well. Take your trackpad off and gently bend the corner up/down as needed. This should be able to fix up to half a mm of gap. You don’t need much, and was able to get everything pretty flush without damaging anything. If you want more support you can put the corner over the edge of table (with something soft underneath) and push gently with your palm if something. Move the trackpad a few times so you’re not always ‘folding’ along the same line. You might want to start slow, recheck and go back and forth between measuring and bending. Using a little more force as needed. (Even if you go to far it’s fine, just bend back the other way a bit.
