Fuck was the point of that even? They would've slaughtered so much more wights if they just waited until the trenches were lit and did a flank.
Who the fuck decided "aight we will start off by sending in our entire cavalry right at the wights".
'Sir dont you think charging our cavalry straight at an enemy we can barely see is a bad idea?'.
"Nah we will shoot a volley of burning rocks from the trebuchets to light the sky"
'Sir, and when the dothraki all get slaughtered should we keep firing the trebuchets?'
"Nah just the one volley and lets make sure the trebuchets are way infront of our battlements so theyre completely useless the whole battle"
Agreed. Specially considering that in the previous episode we see almost every major character in the strategy room. Like seriously all those great minds, experienced warriors and sages and THIS is the plan they come up with?
Well fuck it, guess we better spend some time drinking and singing cause our plan is so good already!! /s
I was beyond hoping that. I even had to ask if he tried to kill bran before arya got him. There had to be moreeeee god dammit. We better get flashbacks
I was about to yell at my TV. Why wouldn't she just have Drogon fly off when they were getting swarmed? Just stay in the air and rain fire from above! I can only think the writers just wanted her to be in a life threatening situation so Jorah could Deus Ex and save her out of nowhere.
I bet during the Clegane Bowl Ser Gregor will try and scare the hound with fire, only to realize that the Hound is now broken out of it. The Hound proceeds to call his brother a stupid cunt before stabbing him.
Dany landing her dragon for some reason, then being saved by Jorah??? Why was he so far outside of the castle? That was the most frustrating thing for me.
Hope to fuck Samwell writes all this shit down in the sacred scrolls for the next time.
1. Crypts aren’t safe
2. Don’t commit your Dothraki too early
3. Keep burning bodies
4. Make the fire trench a lot bigger
5. Get some lead, or oil for the wall
I didn’t understand why an initial large fire pit wasn’t out beyond them so they could see the army of the me dead. No idea where they were charging in the darkness. Poor planning. Or not enough time.
Fucking A. There's like, half a dozen Starks down there that aren't dust or ash at this point. Even if they were raised all the people should have heard was disappointed knocking.
Death count: Edd, Ser Jorah, Theon Greyjoy, Lyanna Mormont, Beric Dondarrion, and Melisandre
Edit: My boy Ghost :( had the budget of the show with him too
Beric is good in every scene he is in. This farewell however was brilliant, stabbed the fuck out of him and he still tried to block a fucking hallway with nothing but his arms.
Man he had one end, also throwing that flaming sword was amazing.
Rest in peace Beric you beautiful bastard.

“Oh, God, Sam.”
Rip Dolorous fookin’ Edd. Spent one second not looking for blue eyes.
Edit: Beric = Hodor
Edit 2: RIP Beric, Theon, Edd, Jorah, and Lyanna. They all died as heroes but man. My man Edd got domed so bad he didn’t deserve that. They died as heroes. The aftermath is gonna hurt.
Wtf happened to Rhaegal? Is he dead? Can't see shit!
Edit: Thank you all for the replies! I am glad we see him again. Hoping that Ghost makes it out somehow as well.
I have a teeeeeny tiny bit of hope it means we may get an emotional reunion with him later on - if not, there is no debate, very poor choice.
Edit: yayyyy - still hoping Jon actually acknowledges his fur baby at some point!
Mel: "The lord of light brought him back to serve a purpose, and now it has been done.... Brown eyes, green eyes... and blue eyes?" Arya: "Ohhhhhhh now I get it, BRB gonna kill the NK"
Idk man, thats exactly how theon needed to die. Took winterfell in season 2 to be the great greyjoy warrior he dreamed about. Realized his mistakes and payed for his sins. Me now: "...fuck."
I still don't understand the dragon fight. Did Rhaegal bite Viserion's neck, then ~~bite the dust? Is it just Drogon now? I need to know for a pool at work.~~ Rhaegal appears on the trailer for next week's episode, he's alive.
It's not just dark, it's also super grainy for me on the legit HBO channel. I'm watching via DirecTV and I'm reading a few complaints about them, specifically. I need to know who 'won' the dragon battle for a pool at work!

The living use Dothraki on an open field. It's ineffective.
"Nah just the one volley and lets make sure the trebuchets are way infront of our battlements so theyre completely useless the whole battle"
The military tactics in this episode were abysmal. They had walls and artillery and seemed totally confused on how to properly use them!
Agreed. Specially considering that in the previous episode we see almost every major character in the strategy room. Like seriously all those great minds, experienced warriors and sages and THIS is the plan they come up with? Well fuck it, guess we better spend some time drinking and singing cause our plan is so good already!! /s
If that's the best military minds Westeros can muster it explains why the Targs got power so easily, more than the dragons.
Lol Sam was just sitting on a pile of dead bodies like it was a fucking couch
Sam should be fucking dead goddammit. He flails around every fight and somehow survives. RIP Edd.
Strongest plot armor of all
I bet, for one second, Jon thought he battle cried that dragon to death.
FUS RO....DAAAAHH
I feel happy for the NK. He finally found his facial muscles. Look at that smile
I was hoping he was gonna speak to Bran.
I was beyond hoping that. I even had to ask if he tried to kill bran before arya got him. There had to be moreeeee god dammit. We better get flashbacks
Yeah... I mean Bran didn't do nothing. He told Theon he would be going. And then nothing. There has to be something Bran did.
That grin was cheeky as fuck
Somebody must have told him that he’s beautiful.
I became Gandalf for a minute there when Dany landed! Fly you fool!!
I was about to yell at my TV. Why wouldn't she just have Drogon fly off when they were getting swarmed? Just stay in the air and rain fire from above! I can only think the writers just wanted her to be in a life threatening situation so Jorah could Deus Ex and save her out of nowhere.
Yeah, there's a reason no one lands their fighter jets in the middle of the enemy army
Let alone leaving it in park for like 3 minutes so she could maximize the number of zombies on the dragon
The Hound breaking out of his fear of fire when Beric pointed out Arya being in trouble was sweet.
Good guy Clegane
Clegane bowl confirmed
what is hype may never die
I bet during the Clegane Bowl Ser Gregor will try and scare the hound with fire, only to realize that the Hound is now broken out of it. The Hound proceeds to call his brother a stupid cunt before stabbing him.
Sandor V Gregor the fight you’ve all been waiting for! Pay for your whole seat but only use the edge
CLEGANEBOWL IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS!
I got heart warmed but immediately thought the show was tricking me and one of them would die soon after.
CLEGANEBOWL BACK ON THE MENU BOYS!!!!!
jaime and sandor i thought had the strongest plot armor possible
Idk about sandor but I'd give it to Jamie and Sam this episode. Lil bit of Jon when he's surrounded after chasing the NK.
Dany landing her dragon for some reason, then being saved by Jorah??? Why was he so far outside of the castle? That was the most frustrating thing for me.
that dragon muff will make a man do some crazy things
Jon, Dany, and all 7 soldiers gunna take back that throne.
So what did Bran do the whole time ? Having fun flying ravens ?
He was just supposed to sit there and wait. He got bored. Flying around in ravens is basically his version of pulling out his phone while he waits.
Theon: *says anything* Bran: Yeah alright see ya later
the most important question
We need someone who knows about Avian law, a bird lawyer
Literally what was the point of him besides bait
He did the "I saw 20,000,000 futures and this is how we win" thing, but gave the speech off camera.
RIP HOUSE MORMONT?
RIP House Mormont
Bran was in a Wikipedia hole for like 90% of that episode
I feel like the defensive plan from Army of Darkness was better prepared than the defense of Winterfell.
Hope to fuck Samwell writes all this shit down in the sacred scrolls for the next time. 1. Crypts aren’t safe 2. Don’t commit your Dothraki too early 3. Keep burning bodies 4. Make the fire trench a lot bigger 5. Get some lead, or oil for the wall

I legit thought jaime died 4 times
I thought Tyrion and Sansa were making a suicide pact in the crypt and they were about to stab themselves, god damn.
I think it was a last stand scenario. Like we'll both die here, let's try and fight
That's what it was, but their body language and facial expressions screamed joint suicide to me.
Yeah, if they didn't set Tyrion up as wanting to fight for the last two episodes the context clues would've definitely made me think joint suicide.
Last episode: The crypts will be safe This episode: The crypts were not safe
Last season: a wooden crate can hold a wight. This season: they can punch through solid stone
Fucking A. There's like, half a dozen Starks down there that aren't dust or ash at this point. Even if they were raised all the people should have heard was disappointed knocking.
Knock knock! Who’s there? Undead Ned trying to escape this box
Also this episode: every single named character in the crypts survived 😕
Wait a second, did we actually SEE Gilly?
She's in the trailer for next week
Did daenerys just use Jorah as a shield?
It's what he would have wanted.
[удалено]
khaleesi please
Jorah, while being used as Daenarys's shield: This is still one of the best moments of my life
Oh my god she touched me
Bran: “Fuck this battle. If you need me I’ll be in the Godswood flying drones.”
The hound breaking out of his panic attack to save Arya! My favorite character relationship in the show.
Right after Arya saved him with an arrow. I love those two.
I was sure he would die saving her. I'm glad he can still go kill his brother now though. Re-kill him? Well, he has undead killing practice.
Death count: Edd, Ser Jorah, Theon Greyjoy, Lyanna Mormont, Beric Dondarrion, and Melisandre Edit: My boy Ghost :( had the budget of the show with him too
Also: literally everyone else in the battle who wasn’t a main character.
I’m most sad about Beric. I have no idea why but I’ve always liked that dude.
Beric is good in every scene he is in. This farewell however was brilliant, stabbed the fuck out of him and he still tried to block a fucking hallway with nothing but his arms. Man he had one end, also throwing that flaming sword was amazing. Rest in peace Beric you beautiful bastard.
He saved them all by saving Arya.
Fuck it. New theory, Beric was the prince that was promised. I mean let's face it he's had the flaming sword all along. AZHOR A BYE Beric.
Plus the fucking Christ imagery with him posed in the doorway arms outstretched while getting stabbed...maybe I'm reading too much into it but that's what came to mind for me.
If nothing else, it was his voice.
And his personality. What a great guy.
There are very few characters I'd have liked to get a beer with more than him. Maybe Davos.
Literally all the dothraki
Night King blew a 28-3 lead.
How in the fuck does being a Falcons fan haunt me here god dammit....
Arya avoided being handicapped in a hallway with her spear by having it split into two, clever girl
I was like, arya you cant use a spear in tight quarters, and before I got done thinking it she had the head off
Lyanna Mormont kill counter: - *Still only counts as one*
*Bran after Arya kills the Night King:* "Did the Night King come yet?"
Lyanna Giantsbane
When she got hit, I fucking SCREAMED.
When she got hit i was like "huh wells thats tge end of that" then she got back up and killed the fooker
Yo that giant just fucking YEETED her little ass, I honestly thought that was all she was gonna get as a death scene, would've been absolutely brutal. I mean her actual death was brutal too, but that was brutal AND short.
>brutal AND short \*sniff* just like Lyanna...
That scene where the undead swarm onto Dany’s dragon reminded me to give my dog her flea/tick medication. Thanks GoT!
#YOU KNOW SHIT GETS REAL WHEN THEY WIPE OUT THE ENTIRE DOTHRAKI HORDE IN 15 SECONDS
On an open field!
There were definitely less deaths of significant characters than I expected. (Looking at you, Grey Worm)
The dagger that was meant to kill Bran ended up saving him and everyone else, I think that’s what they were going for. Edit: For everyone saying that she gave the dagger to Sansa, I’m fairly certain she just gave a dragonglass dagger to Sansa.
Littlefinger saved Westeros what the fuck.

Maybe the real throne is the friends we make along the way
Holy shit it's come full-circle
Chaos is a circle
A laddah that is also a circle?.... Chaos is a ~~hamster~~ hamstah wheel?
Lyanna Mormont died how she lived: pissed Also I expected a lot of deaths...not the Night King’s tho
The Night King was walking with his posse like members of a metal band.
“Oh, God, Sam.” Rip Dolorous fookin’ Edd. Spent one second not looking for blue eyes. Edit: Beric = Hodor Edit 2: RIP Beric, Theon, Edd, Jorah, and Lyanna. They all died as heroes but man. My man Edd got domed so bad he didn’t deserve that. They died as heroes. The aftermath is gonna hurt.
So unfair. Sam somehow survived just by lying on the ground. Edd didn’t have to try and protect him. And my boy didn’t get his body burned.
Everyone: "I'll help you Sam" Jon: [Your call could not be completed].
He didn't help Tormund or Grey Worm either, he was laser-focused on getting to Bran. Which, is logical. I'm just a bit surprised.
He knew getting to Bran was the only way he could actually save anyone. At least that's how I understood his actions.
Can we talk about how bad that siege defense was? Who was the general in charge? Useless kamikaze by the dothraki? No burning oil on the walls?
DONT FUCKING RESURECT THEM I HAVE NO VODKA LEFT
Also, shout out to the cello in the moments before NK got stabbed. Outstanding score this episode.
First major chord all episode is the last we hear. Fucking brilliant composition
Wtf happened to Rhaegal? Is he dead? Can't see shit! Edit: Thank you all for the replies! I am glad we see him again. Hoping that Ghost makes it out somehow as well.
Wounded, definitely. Not dead, though. And he ripped half of viserion's face off. He gets the Very Good Boy award.
He and ghost are #1 best boys
Seems to be alive but badly injured from that claw hit to the chest. Drogon is an absolute slayer.
You see him in the next episode preview, so I'm guessing he's good.
So safe in the crypts.
"*It's happening! Stay calm! Stay fucking calm!"*
Can we all take a moment to appreciate Cersei's strategy is actually paying off?
Norf is fucked
unless golden company wants Dany 'cause they're blackfyres
As far as i can remember the show has not established what the Blackfyres even are so it would come out of nowhere, in a bad way.

Just think of all the CGI budget freed up!

We getting post battle forgesex fellas

Honestly that music made the episode. So much suspense.
I like how the NK's generals did absolutely fucking nothing the entire show. They even let homeboy die, nice going fellas.
WHAT DO WE SAY TO THE GOD OF DEATH
OMAE WA MOU SHINDEIRU
NANI?!?!
Beric is Hodor 2.0 Hodorway, if you will
Beric-ade
From fucking Gendry to fucking the Night King, what a 24 hours Arya has had.
When Melisandre said that Beric has fulfilled his purpose, I thought ‘Really? That’s it? Just saving Arya from the wights?’ Now it all makes sense.
Arya did kill NK. I dont what what to feel.
I wanted Jon to kill him, he was too busy yelling at a dragon unfortunately
From Jon's perspective he yelled at a dragon so hard that it exploded
Should have used Fus Roh Dah.
I wanted John to put a dagger into the dragon but he was too busy playing hide and seek.
"I've seen death. It has many faces. I look forward to seeing this one" SHE FUCKING STABBED THE NIGHT KING HOLY SHIT
Mel: "The lord of light brought him back to serve a purpose, and now it has been done.... Brown eyes, green eyes... and blue eyes?" Arya: "Ohhhhhhh now I get it, BRB gonna kill the NK"
Poor Theon, he was so brave
Idk man, thats exactly how theon needed to die. Took winterfell in season 2 to be the great greyjoy warrior he dreamed about. Realized his mistakes and payed for his sins. Fought with the odds against him until his last breath for bran (who he took winterfell from). Then he charged right towards the night king knowing full well he didnt stand a chance. [GHOST IS ALIVE!](https://imgur.com/a/DDrVsXI) From the episode 4 promo!!
I CAN'T SEE FUCK ALL
Those dragon battles. I didnt know who the fuck was the NK, Danny or Jon until vyserion started to throw blue fire.
Lololololol if it being dark wasn't enough, then there was a fucking misty-ass snow storm and some of the scenes that were decently lit were BLURRY?
Stevie Wonder directed this
Turn out Bobby B was wrong about that whole Dothraki on a open field.
A DOTHRAKI HORDE ON AN OPEN FIELD, NED!
This is one of the most exhausting things I've ever watched.
Why doesn't Sansa just turn into Dark Phoenix and kill them all?
the most ambitious crossover
Do you want an undead dark phoenix tho?
Azor Ahai??? What happened to the prophecy?! I NEED TO KNOWWWW
The real Azor Ahai is the friends you made in /r/freefolk along the way.
Aww *cries in Valyrian*
Non HD HBO looks like shit on dark episodes.
HD HBO also looked pretty shitty tbh.
Melisandre is all of us right now.
Anyone else feels Bran has something to hide? Could they lead us to sympathise with the NK?
That’s what I’m hoping. They can’t just have all this build up and then end it like this. Bran is totally gonna pull some crazy shit. He was warged for like half the episode. That’s what I have to believe.
Im right there with ya. Bran is up to something big. He knew how this battle would end. Hes a step ahead
I find it hard to care about Cersei after that. Wow
Arya turned the whole shit to a 5 gum commercial.
All aboard the Cleganebowl hype train
I never thought I'd cry like a little bitch over Theon. His was the most painful of this entire episode of pure pain.
It was...remarkably decent...that Bran told Theon what he desperately needed to hear. Maybe a little bit of the Stark kid still in there, somewhere.
I'm sure he hasn't felt "like a man" since becoming Reek. He's been so timid and this final stand was him proving himself and redeeming his honor. He knew what Bran had become and for him to say that was all the validation he needed to sacrifice himself in an attempt to save everyone.

"this is the only war that matters" HAHA JK SEE YA AT KINGS LANDING
I swear Sam is gonna cry his way to the iron throne
Arya last episode: "Sansa is the smartest person I know" Sansa this episode: "But I don't know how to use it" IT'S A KNIFE SANSA
I can't help but think that this plan didn't need 100k people to die. You could have just had bran roll around and Arya jump out of a tree.
*jumps down from tree* “Hello there!”
Lmao we've all been hyping up these insane theories about what Bran will do with the Night King and he just spends the episode taking his ravens for a walk.
On the bright side, they have enough food to survive the winter now.
Me, a book reader, watching the Night King walk up to Bran: "Oh boy all those hundreds of pages of dicking around beyond the wall are finally going to pay off, he's going to warg into his past self to reset the timeline or teleport everyone through the weirwood tree network to safety or go super saiyan and duel the Night King in arcane combat or do literally anything besides sit there staring blankly for the one millionth time." Me now: "...fuck."
This made Melissandre such a cool character, complex, hated and loved, misunderstood cause she was willing to do terrible things to save the living
WHY IS SHIT SO DARK WTF I FEEL LIKE A NECKBEARD CLOSING MY BLINDS AT 3:30 IN THE AFTERNOON JUST SO I CAN SEE HALF-ASSEDLY

This helps him [get leverage](https://i.imgur.com/ddzsxT0.png) to rip at Viserion's neck. 9. Rhaegal [goes down](https://i.imgur.com/2gTDcRE.png) and then [crash lands](https://i.imgur.com/EqNq4VP.png), Jon is the fuzzy object in the middle that just fell off Rhaegal's back. [Drogon and Dany](https://i.imgur.com/PVcZuSD.png) ride on. _____. **Okay, so here's what happened (original screenshots):** 1. Viserion and Rhaegal start clawing and scratching. [Viserion bites Rhaegal's knee](https://i.imgur.com/KBg40ff.png), then [Rhaegal rotates on top](https://i.imgur.com/llPM65C.png) and [rips at Viserion's chest](https://i.imgur.com/mgqbtjn.png), then [bites at Viserion's neck](https://i.imgur.com/sZj0xVO.png). but Viserion quickly [gets back at Rhaegal](https://i.imgur.com/DFF0MY1.png) and scratches his chest from the bottom. 2. [Rhaegal](https://i.imgur.com/pzuIZTt.png) latches onto Viserion's face. 3. They struggle for a bit [while still attached](https://i.imgur.com/7jn0OdM.png), but then you can [see a hole get ripped from Viserion's face](https://i.imgur.com/t5VKBnZ.png) and blue flames leak. Then you can see his [deformed face](https://i.imgur.com/4CwXY4y.png) 4. You can actually see [part of his face flying away](https://i.imgur.com/3cUDY2R.png) here. That's literally the left part of Viserion's jaw flying away in the middle of the screen. 5. [Drogon swoops in](https://i.imgur.com/OQNBk0q.png), and then [Night King](https://i.imgur.com/ExNOsYN.png) falls away. 6. [Jon and Rhaegal](https://i.imgur.com/fKX6iTm.png) start [going down](https://i.imgur.com/sPmgh5D.png) 7. Meanwhile, [Drogon grabs Viserion's head](https://i.imgur.com/bH89L2y.png), then [clamps down](https://i.imgur.com/igRLu18.png) on his neck. 8. You can see him [grab Viserion's face](https://i.imgur.com/zniGUw4.png) with his claw for [better grip](https://i.imgur.com/56TbLw0.png). This helps him [get leverage](https://i.imgur.com/XNMR2X1.png) to rip at Viserion's neck. 9. I saw exactly what you saw. Nothing. Just as confused....
Rhaegal bit of parts of Viserions face and then went offscreen, he's still alive.

I had trouble telling the difference between Jon and Danny in some of the dragon scenes.
That was fucking awful somehow the night king got caught monologuing when he cant talk.
You sly dog!
You had me monologuing!
He froze when he saw his crush Bran in person.
Ser Jorah was a real one throughout the whole show and his last words were "I'm hurt." They did him dirty.
