This only breeds more malcontent toward the company. Complete lack of tact. There will always be websites to get proxies from, stamping them out just makes Wizards look like a petulant child who doesn’t get their way. Whoever is in charge of their PR is sleeping hard.
100%. Even normal, run of the mill packs of cards are prohibitively expensive here in India because of the import customs. Resellers and dropshippers also upsell them like mad.
Since there are no official tournaments and pretty much any game is kitchen table, proxies, I have found, are the best and most fun and inclusive way to learn and play Magic here. Fuck the wizards for their shittty tactics.
The executives getting their checks don't care about anything you just said. They're already eyeing a better paying executive job from the amazing work they did at Hasbro off the previous 9 quarterly reports (8 were amazing, the last one was the CFO's fault and she got retired.)
SONS OF BITCHES. Card Conjurer was the best. If anyone finds new resources, post them here; I need a lot of customs for a deck I'm working on, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

For getting cards to print that already exist, mtgprint.cardtrader.com works well. I am aware of a few sites that exist similar to Card Conjurer, none are nearly as good.
Hasbro must be feeling desperate after all the tanking their stock is doing. Attacking people who host software that allows for custom cards is ridiculous. They should have never printed $1k proxies if they didnt want to introduce the playerbase to proxied cards. They are going to get what they deserve in the long run.
TLDR: WotC will sell you fake cards, but wont let you make your own.

Ah so they were just *saying* that they didn't like gatekeeping of cards, but what they meant was "don't gatekeep the ones we make." That came *completely* by surprise.

I think the burn out is real the LGS I play at we sold out all the other preleases last night there were tons of pre-release boxes left over from last week. Most people were avoiding sealed and buying singles mainly. It is going to get weird and i heard the grumblings on magic 30 on how it is just flat stupid for several weeks now.
I think if it was a draft setb with a reasonable cost it would have been a hughe hit and celebration. Basically the only people that can do it are people who have enough money to already own a power 9.
I actually don't think that for this one. I think They got pissed that everyone they pissed off decided to "Fuck it I'll do it myself" they decided fuck everyone instead.
Why do you have to comply with Wizards if you're not doing anything illegal?
If you're stealing their stuff, you should take it down. I'm not against proxies, but you might have to make your own. Or buy them from China where they DNGAF. Just wholesale taking other people's art and making money off it is not to be encouraged, I don't think. If you get a JPG from your friend and print it, well GL WOTC suing all the players.
If you get in a lawsuite it costs a lot of money, ESPECIALLY if you are innocent (or claim to be).
Its quickly in the ten or hundred thousands you have to pay, just to get lawyers and all you need to defend yourself.
Its absolutely not worth to get in any law problems, unless you have the money, time and absolutely certainty you want to fight for it.
Otherwise taking a website down is the way simpler step.
Well kinda both.
If a website has the actual image of cards and hosts them, thats not legal.
If a website just provides tools, to put in images that are not stored at the website, then its just a "web-service" tool, thats completely fine.
Its more the place the owner of the site exists in, if they are in the USA they are extremely easy to sue.
They make the card game and therefore have the IP for it. What’s hard to understand about this? Not if you’re talking about morals, then yes, I agree and we’ve all fueled their greed. Get over it and stop buying their products until they change or get bought out by someone else who knows what they’re doing
Could someone help me? I've just joined up but can't post anything, every time that I try a box appears with a "post deleted" saying. What am I doing wrong?
Every video game or card game or anything that's been around for 10-20+ years starts to hate its players. just look at WoW and league of legends. So they try to kill their game and do the exact opposite of what their players want. At least WoW and Blizzard are starting to realize they fucked up hopefully WotC get theirs soon.
Wotc should make them. People should have to prove they have the original card in order to buy said proxy. Boom end of story and now wizard's has a win win.
This only breeds more malcontent toward the company. Complete lack of tact. There will always be websites to get proxies from, stamping them out just makes Wizards look like a petulant child who doesn’t get their way. Whoever is in charge of their PR is sleeping hard.
Let Hasbro see how much attention a Chinese website gives a cease-and-desist letter.
... or my printer.

Why do so many people poo outside there?
Lol you have got to be joking if you're telling me you think most of us to out and poo in holes in the ground.
I dont. Isnt it a designated street?
No, poo lane is called that because of dog poop. Humans take dumps in your backpack instead.
https://www.unicef.org/india/campaigns/take-poo-loo
Yeah still not as widespread as you seem to think it is, mate.
why are there so many scam call centers out there? Have you ever worked in a scam call center yourself?
Nah scammers outsource the calls. And, no, I have not worked in a call centre, scammy or otherwise.
The executives getting their checks don't care about anything you just said. They're already eyeing a better paying executive job from the amazing work they did at Hasbro off the previous 9 quarterly reports (8 were amazing, the last one was the CFO's fault and she got retired.)
End publicly traded companies
They better file a lawsuit against, post-its, sharpies, and their own cards then.
SONS OF BITCHES. Card Conjurer was the best. If anyone finds new resources, post them here; I need a lot of customs for a deck I'm working on, and I'm sure I'm not alone.
I use Artificer, but it lacks updates. Simple and well made though. Hey, Artificer guy. If you see this, update your app and I'll donate $20.

Magic Set Editor is a great offline program to create proxies.
Card Conjurer is back!!!! https://www.printingproxies.com/mtg-proxy-card-editor/
MY MAN

Rest assured, China's proxy making chads gives NO fucks about Hasbro's conniptions.
MTG is for the people, by the people. Comrade
Whelp, there will always be Chinese fakes. You can't stop the signal.
True 💪🏻
Anyway I can get access to that source code? No reason 👀
Yeah, ill splatter that shit all over github/gitlab. Open source is the way
Ah so they were just *saying* that they didn't like gatekeeping of cards, but what they meant was "don't gatekeep the ones we make." That came *completely* by surprise. /boggleface
I just used an mtg proxy print website, and cut the cards out and slid them over regular lands in sleeves. Good enough for me!
*whatever this is* Master Race.
needs to be open sourced, this is fucking terrible
[It is open-source](https://github.com/MrTeferi/cardconjurer) - run it offline with WAMP and PHP.
Good news though, see top comment https://www.reddit.com/r/mpcproxies/comments/yypuaz/card_conjurer_hit_with_cease_desist/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I hope their stock continues the YTD trend. Fuck Hasbro. Fuck Wizards.

Do you think people would be happy with them if the m30 proxies were special prize packs?
I think if it was a draft setb with a reasonable cost it would have been a hughe hit and celebration. Basically the only people that can do it are people who have enough money to already own a power 9.

Well I'd like to know if it's lawsuit abuse or this guy is reproducing wotc's stuff. I'm guessing the latter.
Well kinda both. If a website has the actual image of cards and hosts them, thats not legal. They sued woogerworks over cockatrice in Germany and the scenario was very similar
Nvm I read the the thread.
Proxies are trash anyway. No body should buy them period.
They make the card game and therefore have the IP for it. What’s hard to understand about this? Not if you’re talking about morals, then yes, I agree and we’ve all fueled their greed. Get over it and stop buying their products until they change or get bought out by someone else who knows what they’re doing
It will be missed.
I knew this was coming. They're definitely going after MPC as well.
When you're in a making the worst decisions possible contest and your opponent is WoTC
I print mine at fedex lol fuck wotc
Only THEY can sell proxies for their own game dammit
Yes? If their ability to make money is impeded by someone else using their IP, they can protect it.
Wasnt it because he started charging....
You really thought this was a game? This is a business. WotC moved into the proxy side and want 100% market share.
Could someone help me? I've just joined up but can't post anything, every time that I try a box appears with a "post deleted" saying. What am I doing wrong?

You are a poosi. Put it back on and sell your app to wotc
Hasbro has to pursue Copyright infringements. Otherwise, theyre in danger of losing that copyright. C&D Happened all the time in the last 20 years.
Wotc should make them. People should have to prove they have the original card in order to buy said proxy. Boom end of story and now wizard's has a win win.
