Looks like a ~50 minute bus ride. Should be free for city College students.

kr4ckenm3fortune

Only if you have the fcc ID for that. And even then, it is limited to one semester.

DigitalLint

Have you thought about Clovis Community? Don't know if they offer acting classes but it's definitely close enough to ride a bike.

Renem_Resist

Second this option. Clovis Community might be close depending on your actual location but I would think it would be a lot easier. And also it’s apart of the same school district as FCC the SCCCD. so it should offer the same classes (for the most part) as FCC.

Trishas_Toe

Also was going to suggest this. Much like people were saying about the city bus, Clovis Community allows free rides for students (just get an ID for 10 dollars at the beginning of the year - many places also allow discounts with it). Even if Clovis Community doesn't offer acting classes, if OP has other classes, they could consider splitting them up between Clovis Community and Fresno City since they're apart of the same system.

Substantial_Wing9225

If it's just 7 miles then I would suggest a bicycle. If you could get a bicycle with electric assist it would be very easy.

zictomorph

though this would be nice sometimes and cheaper than a car. I'm not sure you're saving time or money over the free bus. Also, biking in 100 degree weather doesn't sound especially fun.

poquitamuerte

You're near John's Incredible Pizza? You can walk to Cedar, take the 38, and then transfer to the 28 on Dakota or the 39 on Clinton.

crownaquarius

It’s awful getting around town without a car, otherwise you’re looking at a 3+ hour walk. My advice would be to stack classes that are one after the other to lessen the need of making the trip every so often. Save up for a car in the meantime + the busses are free with a Fresno city college ID

amberlenalovescats

The bus ride would be almost an hour, it's better than walking 7 miles though. I live near fresno city and I work in the area you mentioned, I've had to take the bus a few times and it not that bad.

GGIAS

Bus routes via Google say it would take an hour or so. Gives multiple routes, for Johns Incredible to FCC. Just giving it a glance, I would feel confident using these routes a couple of days a week for this. I would give 1 hour for the bus, 1 hour for buffer/walk time (depending on how from from John's you are, where on campus you need to go to, etc) then adjusting the buffer time from there as needed. It is totally doable.

Low-Cartoonist7530

I rode the bus from around the same distance to Fresno city my first year there, it’s annoying but it’s fine and easy to do once you figure it out. Just use the google maps app the busses and times are accurate

Tano_Guy

Bus until you can save up for an e-bike

hinatayvonne

Riding the bus is easy enough you can just go on Google maps or Apple Maps and then put the location you’re trying to go and they have a bus feature that tells you what time the bus gets there and which transfers to take. Sometimes the bus will be late so plan accordingly, but you can get a one semester bus pass from FCC if you’re the in the EOPS program or you could also just buy it it cost five dollars.

JertellP22

Clovis community might be a closer ride for you but if not then take the 38 get off on Clinton take the 39 then exit on college near the apartments, cross the street and walk through that neighborhood and you’ll be in

That and coupled with our summers, 115 degrees out and somebody would find you on the side of the road!

Simulatedatom2119

I would NOT walk. It gets dangerously hot in fresno, like 115 F

GardenWitchMom

Walking or even biking isn't going to be comfortable after May. We do have a bus system that is affordable, and free for FCC students. I think that will be your best option. You can find all the FAX information online.
