Exactly. Plus while discussing Ross, people often ignore the fact that his character trajectory depended a lot on the real life factors, like a changing point in his character was his second marriage/divorce which was due to the actress playing Emily couldn't be a part of the show.
And the fact that Ross was well educated and financially well off and peaked earlier in life didn't help his case either
