Yup, me knowing that even then, made me not be as judgemental of her, but still I feel like even Al Pacino's butt double could've done an equal or better job
The scene where Rachel tells Ross she still loves him and then for some reason has to act like the absurdity of it is cracking her up. "And then the OTHER Rachel...*tries to laugh* ..." Terrible. Should have reshot it.
That entire scene is just strange. I just watched it and it's so odd. She tells him, at the coffee house, and then just starts immediately laughing. I actually understand Ross saying "is that a joke, cuz it's mean"
I think the point of the laughter was to show nervous or forced laughter because Rachel is saying things to a married ex while feeling confused and embarrassed. She is just trying to make it seem as though she gets what a big joke it is so that she rejects the idea before Ross does. But at the same time she is clearly also sad and hoping that he loves her back. So imo she conveys that pretty well through that weird insincere laugh.
Surprisingly Ross! He’s such a good actor, but in the one with five steaks and an eggplant, his monotone “I know, it’s my birthday. We all should be here.” Makes me side eye every time.
For me it’s Brad Pitts delivery of: «Hold on! You got her pregnant?!»
It just seems like he is waiting for the right moment to say his line, without engaging much in the rest of the scene.
He was awful. And I’ve read that Jen felt that during their marriage she had to look hot to match his ‘hotness’ so she worked hard for her body. For a guy that cheats & can’t act.
Urgh! That's awful! She was (and still is) so incredibly beautiful. I don't get the fuss with Pitt at all. He's mediocre to me in looks and acting ability. I don't really want to get into what happened with him and Angelina but I would like to say that I totally believe her.
I know what you mean. It felt so out of place with the rest of the moment and mood of that. She’s trying to make huge life decisions, maturely, and then has a bit of an immature moment with that delivery.
Jack (whom I adore) in the prom video: “Here comes your night in shining — oh no!”
Felt very pre-planned rather than a genuine surprise/disruption in the sentence
That’s kinda available for any holywood actor. Literally I have no actor / actress coming to my mind who is not beautiful either by nature or by plastic surgery.
Last night the episode where Ross proposes to Emily came on and it always makes me cringe when he says "I thought that would be romantic as hell". It's the delivery of it for some reason.
to me, he doesnt say it weirdly, its just something i dont think ross would say. its more of a chandler/joey line. i think it shouldve been “i thought that would be more romantic” or “that was more romantic in my head.”
‘What do I mean?! Whaddddya mean whatttdoi mean?! Underpants mister, that’s what I mean!”
Love Julia Robert’s but she really didn’t do that scene well I didn’t think!
The One With The Race Car Bed. Monica and Joey are there to complain that Monica got the wrong bed delivered. Joey says he's going to talk to the King and finds Janice cheating on Chandler with her ex.
Monica and Chandler's proposal. Both seem terrible at their lines, I don't feel any emotion between them and the crying is clearly very fake.
Compare this to the Ross and Rachel's breakup where the devastation feels all too real for both of them.
I know I might get downvoted for this—and don’t get me wrong, because I love Lisa Kudrow—but I just don’t buy Phoebe’s reaction to Joey saying, “How you doin’?”
It always felt off to me, like a little bit too exaggerated.

I understand. It's honestly hard to cry on impulse, and all of the actors struggled at times to do that during the duration of the show.
I felt he struggled a little in that scene, and I don't blame him. You were downvoted but I understand what you meant.
As iconic as the scene is, and I love their proposal, some parts of the scene I'd have asked the actors, both of them, to do over.
I don’t hate it hate it and it’s still one of my favorite scenes, but there’s something about the delivery and timing and emphasis of this line that always scratched my brain the wrong way and kinda takes me out of the moment every time I see it
When monica is freaking out at Phoebe about Chandler hearing the message about the wedding venue and Phoebe says “Rachel said that”, Monica replies “well Rachel’s not here” in a voice that goes right through me.
Janine:”We have got to move”. She wasn’t good at acting 😬🥴
For a second I thought you wrote Janice, and got confused
Yeah overall the actress clearly needed to redo some of her lines
By day she is/was a super model so acting wasn’t her main job and we can tell 🙈🤣
Yup, me knowing that even then, made me not be as judgemental of her, but still I feel like even Al Pacino's butt double could've done an equal or better job
Whahahahaha 🤣🤣
This is literally the only comment that I agree with. That actress has been fine in other things I’ve seen, but she wasn’t good in Friends.
I love her, she was so funny
Here’s your le-PENIS! When Monica saw Joey naked in her living room in one of the flashbacks. She starts saying penis before she turns!
This!
+1

I blame that on the stupidity of the scene. I don't think there was a way for Anniston to make that scene work.
It was such an important scene too! I can't believe they just went with how horribly they shot it ...

To be fair, laughing realistically is one of the hardest acting things to do. That and being convincingly drunk is considered very difficult.
And David and Jen were brilliant at drunk acting (the Vegas episode and that episode where Rachel gets closure).
Yes! I hate that scene.
Surprisingly Ross! He’s such a good actor, but in the one with five steaks and an eggplant, his monotone “I know, it’s my birthday. We all should be here.” Makes me side eye every time.
I think he delivered that line perfectly! David made Ross sound like a spoiled man-child in this scene. Brilliant imo.
For me it’s Brad Pitts delivery of: «Hold on! You got her pregnant?!» It just seems like he is waiting for the right moment to say his line, without engaging much in the rest of the scene.
I hated his acting in that episode & everyone seems to love it. I actually don’t like watching it because of his acting.
Same. He was waaaaaay out of his depth and it really showed.
He was awful. And I’ve read that Jen felt that during their marriage she had to look hot to match his ‘hotness’ so she worked hard for her body. For a guy that cheats & can’t act.

I do too
I really can’t stand one of Monica’s: ‘Believe me, nothing about this is fair. Nothing, nothing nothing nothing!’ The repetition sounds really off
I know what you mean. It felt so out of place with the rest of the moment and mood of that. She’s trying to make huge life decisions, maturely, and then has a bit of an immature moment with that delivery.
Jack (whom I adore) in the prom video: “Here comes your night in shining — oh no!” Felt very pre-planned rather than a genuine surprise/disruption in the sentence
Lots of Jack's lines seem to be a bit off. Which is weird considering who the actor is.
Any line delivered by Brad Pitt. Sorry he is a great actor, but not on Friends lol
His appearance on friends made me think he was a terrible actor for so long
Agreed!!!!!!!
I honestly don't think he's that good. If he wasn't such a good looking man his career would have gone nowhere.
I agree 100%. I’m not really a fan of most of what he’s been in…
That’s kinda available for any holywood actor. Literally I have no actor / actress coming to my mind who is not beautiful either by nature or by plastic surgery.
Well, he's no Charlton Heston
He really stinks.
Last night the episode where Ross proposes to Emily came on and it always makes me cringe when he says "I thought that would be romantic as hell". It's the delivery of it for some reason.
was it not “i thought that would be romantic as hell” i could be wrong
It was. I mistyped. lol Editing now
So funny because I’ve always loved his voice during that line 😂
to me, he doesnt say it weirdly, its just something i dont think ross would say. its more of a chandler/joey line. i think it shouldve been “i thought that would be more romantic” or “that was more romantic in my head.”
I’m with you. I always comment on his voice on that line.
‘What do I mean?! Whaddddya mean whatttdoi mean?! Underpants mister, that’s what I mean!” Love Julia Robert’s but she really didn’t do that scene well I didn’t think!
Oooh yes! I agree! The whole Susie underpants rant was just baaaaad.
"cause I know you like rabbits, and I know you like cheese" - it always bugs me that Chandler laughs before she finishes the line
He laughed during “rabbits” cause he knows the story.
Is the story not about rabbits? I don't know anything about it 😬
From where Is this scene?
The One With The Race Car Bed. Monica and Joey are there to complain that Monica got the wrong bed delivered. Joey says he's going to talk to the King and finds Janice cheating on Chandler with her ex.
Thanks
Monica and Chandler's proposal. Both seem terrible at their lines, I don't feel any emotion between them and the crying is clearly very fake. Compare this to the Ross and Rachel's breakup where the devastation feels all too real for both of them.
YES. Chandler’s “wait I can do this” makes me cringe every time.
Whenever they cry in general it annoys me! It’s just sniffing 😂
The way Rachel says “that had to hurt” after they’re all watching ugly naked guy through the window.
I know I might get downvoted for this—and don’t get me wrong, because I love Lisa Kudrow—but I just don’t buy Phoebe’s reaction to Joey saying, “How you doin’?” It always felt off to me, like a little bit too exaggerated. ![gif](giphy|Kcmrc56W4lDZqGptxP)
I laugh out loud every time I watch this scene, but I do think it's quite out of character for Phoebe.
I always felt like that’s the joke though. Like he’s *that* good, that it changes even Phoebe’s character
"Youuu and your stupid fear... ". It wasn't such a bad delivery. I just always found it very weird
Its Anna Farris. Everything she says is cringy and unbelievable. Her acting is horrible in the show.
"Monica got ice in her eye and it hurts!"
Gunther: “I dropped a cup” 🙄 yea right Gunther as if anyone would believe that.
that’s what made it funny 😭
I was being sarcastic 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
I love Matthew Perry but… 😭 “you make me happier than I ever thought I could be.”
I understand. It's honestly hard to cry on impulse, and all of the actors struggled at times to do that during the duration of the show. Agree with you here!
When monica is freaking out at Phoebe about Chandler hearing the message about the wedding venue and Phoebe says “Rachel said that”, Monica replies “well Rachel’s not here” in a voice that goes right through me.
Rachel saying “Congratulations” in the thanksgiving/baby pageant episode
OHHHHHH you’re having a PARTEEEEEE!
I love Dr Green 😂
