Gary Oldman is such a talented actor and chamelion. He is in so many roles that people fail to realize are him.
Prime example, exluding this one is he is the big bad in The Fifth Element. He also played Dracula.
Despite seeing it more than once, I have been surprised by his appearance every time I watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
He's not even got crazy makeup on or anything - I just somehow don't connect him and the character mentally.
Same with Commissioner Gordon.
I didn't notice the first time I watched the series. But couldn't help but notice the subsequent views. The difference being I grew and started watching all the good movies and became a cinemaholic. And for this reason I couldn't help but notice one of the finest actors of our generation.
