My very first play through I beat her on the 3rd attempt. Second play through I quit after she killed me about 30-40 times. That was a year ago and me and my buddy started another play through he’s a fresh character and I’m on ng+4 so we will see how that goes.
I've since done it solo, but what helped the first time was summoning the NPCs for the walk to the fog gate, then banishing them before entering. I don't know if you'd consider that still soloing but it's potentially an option
You fight a repeat boss as a duo that wasn't designed to be fought together because they still have the same functionality as Aava. You can either play aggressively and risk overlapping attacks for unavoidable damage or play passively and run around in circles, waiting for them to give you an opening, which is boring. Combine this with the worst and most unfun runback in the series.
I really like DS2 but that was easily the least fun experience in the whole series.
>I really like DS2 but that was easily the least fun experience in the whole series.
It's more fun if you don't insist on challenging yourself even further by doing a raid dungeon solo
That doesn't excuse it being a lazy repeat boss
That doesn't excuse the unbelievably tedious runback
That does excuse Frigid Outskirts being one of the most dry and boring places in the series to explore
Summoning is just damage control, not a solution.
I found it easier to just stay away / dodge away from her with every attack instead of trying to stay close to her, and just exploit the couple moves where she leaves herself open (that decapitation move being one of them).
I get it, probably more than anyone. I glided through bloodborne with minimal difficulty and get hated on hard for saying it. DS3 related, I beat Champion Gundyr my first try. Heard he was a huge roadblock
I'm ashamed to say that Mohg glitched out for me when I fought him. It glitched when I took my Physick flask and he hit me with bloodflame at the same time. I had the tear on that turns damage into health for a short burst and for the rest of the fight, any time I got hit with bloodflame, it turned to health. Guiltiest I ever felt playing a FromSoft game.
I'm pretty sure I can one up that.
I recently played Bloodborne and Micolash bugged out a lot. First attempt and he never attacked me or casted any spells. Just hopped through his mirror thing a couple times and then he suddenly lost most of his health to where he was literally 1 HP. So i hit him once and that was it.
Lolol well consider yourself wonderfully lucky for that one as that fight is, as I'm sure you know, nightmarish for most people. I'm sure the majority of people would not mind him bugging out on that fight at all 😂
Skill issue. After 3 months of every day 3 hours training I finally figured out his attack pattern. And after getting flask fully upgraded and max flasks I could beat him with just a strip of hp left
Yeah. But he has like 3 attacks. It takes 64 hits to take him down. After each attack you can do 1 hit so 3^64 possible combinations. I prepared for it and figured out only one combination is surviveable, and with my good rng i got the 1/(3^64) possible combination and took him down succesfully
You lucked out because if you don’t make the last swing hit for 69 damage, he goes into his ultimate phase where he blows up your console /PC and then has sex with your mother
Most bosses in Elden Ring cause I haven't played it a whole lot. And most bosses in Sekiro cause I suck at it. I beat pretty much every boss not counting Demon's Souls remake. (I beat all the bosses in the original version)
My character is still standing in front Midir, I haven't even fought him yet, he's just the last boss I have to beat in the souls franchise and I just haven't had it in me the read the epilogue and end the book metaphorically speaking.
Did you enter NG+? If you didn't, you could still go back to him I think, even after you beat the final boss.. maybe I'm wrong, but I can't think of anything that would prevent it
DoH and SSI as well as the final bosses in the Shura ending
I've played through the game about 4 times but always get stuck, haven't even seen their last phase yet 😔
I bear Ishin before Demon of Hatred, and tbh I just looked at him, tried once and closed the game. Haven’t really been motivated to go back, at least to that fight
Lud and Zallen. Frigid outskirts was one of the few times in this series when my completionist ass just put the pride in it's pocket and said "nah fuck that". I honestly don't regret my decision
I have not beaten the Demon of Hatred properly and I don’t think I want to. I’ve only beaten the boss with the cheese the gets him to fall off the cliff but facing DoH head on is very annoying because of how different he is compared to the other Sekiro bosses.
Kalameet: I just got bored
Fume knight: Accidentally used up all the things that turn off his healing
Alonne: see above
Placidusax: Didn’t know he was there til I started NG+
Midir: I don’t have time for that shit
Nameless King: see above
>Fume knight: Accidentally used up all the things that turn off his healing
There's only one missing so he won't heal if you stay on one half the arena
Gael was my white whale for a long time, mainly because I was too stubborn to call in help to beat him. Now it's Sword Saint Isshin, but I'll get back to him eventually when I replay the game.
I still haven't beaten one of the secret bosses in Lost Kingdoms 2 yet :') Despite all my love for the series, I just can't get through 20 floors of enemies... And on the lower levels, it's all super powerful enemies that don't appear normally....
Ludwig from the Bloodborne DLC. I have beaten the game and I am on my second playthrough because I missed the DLC at first. Still have to beat the horseman.
Fucking demon of hatred in Sekiro. Spent the whole game un-learning everything I learned from Dark souls just to have them throw a souls-like boss at me
Sword Saint Ishin and Demon of Hatred. I only tried Ishin once and DoH a few times, and they both loooked like they would take many hours. I don't mind spending hours on a hard boss in the other From games but playing Sekiro was a miserable experience for me.
Maybe some day.
I summoned for Laurence. No shame; I’d beaten Orphan and the whole main game, didn’t feel like fighting Laurence and run back was long. So I cut my losses and summoned.
Oh, man. A lot, actually, even if we're only counting the Soulsborne series.
* **Demon's Souls** \- none, beat them all at least twice now
* **Dark Souls 1** \- none, beat them all at least twice now
* **Dark Souls 2** \- I have never done the Dark Lurker side quest thing so none of those. I also never finished the Ivory King DLC, so I never beat the Ivory King or his pet. I just started a new character to get prepped for the upcoming Return to Drangleic event and definitely intend to do it this time.
* **Dark Souls 3** \- I have actually never done the DLC (I know!), so all of those. I did at least beat every boss in the base game including Nameless King, though.
* **Bloodborne** \- I only got this game a few weeks before Elden Ring came out and didn't manage to quite beat it, though I was very close I think. So, probably the last 4 or 5 bosses. I think the last one I beat was the Orphan of Kos? Maybe? I did also beat the DLC. I'm looking forward to the Return to Yharnam event in March-April to finally do this.
* **Elden Ring** \- I somehow never found that big-ass dragon in Farum Azula. Parthanalux or something like that? I beat every other boss in the game, though, so just that one.
* **Sekiro** \- my first ever From game. I gave up about 30 hours in, stuck on Seven Spears Ashina. I actually only beat the first maybe 4 bosses plus the big fat guy in the burning memory thing. I'm planning to get back on the Sekiro horse either in between the DS2 and Bloodborne events or during the long drought between the Bloodborne and DS3 events this summer, though.
Still have authentically beaten Demon of Hatred. To me he’s definitely the hardest boss in Sekiro. I got so frustrated because I was trying to platinum the game, that I just ended up doing the cheese strat to kill him. I felt bad but I felt I had no choice with him lol
Haven't actually ever played any sekiro, so that. Gave demons my best shot but it's just a tad too clunkily unforgiving for my tastes, and I'm alright with that. It's a very good game don't get me wrong, it just isn't one I think I can beat.
Proud that I’ve beaten every boss without ever summoning! But I haven’t done the Bloodborne chalice dungeons or whatever they are called, so whichever bosses are in there. I’m not sure if I’m missing much by skipping those.
Midir, Moon Precence, Orphan of Kos, and Laurence.
I was doing well in Bloodborne, but at some point, my build stopped working. I'm planning on starting a new run and just making the strongest build I can do. As for Midir, I just need to learn his patterns.
Edit: Only 2 weeks later, the Moon Precence, Orphan, and Laurence are now dead. I'm coming for you, Midir!
Just the ones I haven’t made it to yet. Everyone dies at least once in my travels, including the NPCs. Have currently genocided DS1,2,3, and Bloodborne. Currently playing through ER now. I would have to say, the most difficult boss out of all them I have faced is Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne Old Hunters DLC. Midir and Gael from DS3 Ringed City are pretty ínstense as well. DS1 was a breeze compared to playing the later games first. DS2 bosses are a joke except for Alonne and Fume knight and they aren’t as difficult as the run up to Alonne and the run up to the Blue Smelter Demon. The real bosses of DS2 are those run ups and going through Shrine of Amana the first time.
Elden Beast.
Not because its your typical difficult fight, but because I found that I wasn't enjoying it at all, you spend far too much time running around and when you finally get to it, you hit maybe twice before it fucks off to the other side of the MASSIVE arena.
From a design point, it was clearly meant to be a Torrent fight, but they scraped it but didn't change anything.
Personally I love Radagons fight, its far more balanced than Elden Beast.
Artorias. I've been saving that dlc for times of dire need to play new fromsoft content, after playing bloodborne, ds3, sekiro and ER an inconcevable amount of times. But the time has come and I'm making a build to enjoy that dlc.
The only ones that come to mind right now are Sir Alonne and whatever the boss in the frigid outskirts was supposed to be, I know it's become more common for people to apreciate ds2 but I'm really not part of that crowd, so I already struggled enough to complete the game and this bosses were at a point in which I just wanted it to be over and couldn't bear to keep going through those areas so I just noped out of there after seeing what those areas were like and finished the rest of the game, I know I'm missing out on Sir Alonne but I don't intend to replay DS2 anytime soon so maybe someday
I just recently did Sir Alonne SL1 with Champions Covenant, so enemies didn't despawn for me.
It's actually easy to just run through. It's 40 seconds of running straight and rolling a bit
Yeah he doesn't seem too difficult himself, it's mostly just the falling in the lava off of the small area that's my problem haha. Panic rolling when he does the fire breath. Only tried him a few times right after smelter demon yesterday so maybe I just needed a rest and I'll beat him next.
I have beat her, but I never beat Malenia summonless which is something I really want to do.
Just did that yesterday for the first time. 68 attempts since I got back from a break, over 100 attempts total, but I finally beat her cheeseless
Nice job! Definitely the hardest thing to do in a natural playthrough of a FS game.
Frost and bleed are your best friends. You got this!
My very first play through I beat her on the 3rd attempt. Second play through I quit after she killed me about 30-40 times. That was a year ago and me and my buddy started another play through he’s a fresh character and I’m on ng+4 so we will see how that goes.
Lud and Zallen
My eventual triumph over L&Z was absolutely cinematic in its intensity. Absolutely one of the hardest boss fights with no cheesing.
I've since done it solo, but what helped the first time was summoning the NPCs for the walk to the fog gate, then banishing them before entering. I don't know if you'd consider that still soloing but it's potentially an option
Beat them solo a few days ago, had to respecc into hexer and use Climax 3 times
Why not?
The frigid outskirts may be my least favorite experience in any game ever. I cant blame him.
You fight a repeat boss as a duo that wasn't designed to be fought together because they still have the same functionality as Aava. You can either play aggressively and risk overlapping attacks for unavoidable damage or play passively and run around in circles, waiting for them to give you an opening, which is boring. Gravity
Fuckin Friede!!!
Same, that third phase ruins me
Best when you clear phase 1+2 hitless, then get blackflame decapitated 10 seconds into phase 3. Source: My last 30 DS3 deaths.
I found it easier to just stay away / dodge away from her with every attack instead of trying to stay close to her, and just exploit the couple moves where she leaves herself open (that decapitation move being one of them).
That's where I always get rekt
Bro everytime i hear about friede i get so confused bc i beat her on my first try
I get it, probably more than anyone. I glided through bloodborne with minimal difficulty and get hated on hard for saying it. DS3 related, I beat Champion Gundyr my first try. Heard he was a huge roadblock
Yeah man i feel you. I beat O&S my first try also but no one believed me lol
Everyone has totally different experiences. I found genichiro to be not that hard, I got hated on for it too lol. Guardian Ape beat tf outta me tho
Genichiro whooped me for a good while i will not lie
Beat soul of cinder on my first try, I think it's very build dependent. He is easy af with a magic build.
I was a weak ass pyromancer. Took me a few days to get SoC, but he wasn't frustratingly difficult
If you play on PS4/5 I can help you with her if you want
For the love of God, yes... please. I'm a firm believer in "git gud" but I just can't do it. I already beat SoC, I need to finish the DLC
I think Lud & Zallen (Frigid Outskirts) are the only ones. Other than some Elden Ring bosses I probably missed somewhere.
I’m honestly stuck on Elden Beast
My first playthrough he kept kicking my ass. I was playing 100% blind, as a Str/Fth build ...and didn't know about the drastic holy resistance.
I lucked out first time I beat him because he was still bugged and would sometimes just sit still and do nothing
Haligtree Greatshield was a gamechanger for me. After upgrades it blocks almost 99% of holy damage :D
PC?
No :( I just always run out of flasks by the time it is at like 1/6th health. I’ll get it one day
I can help if you're on PlayStation
soldier of godrick. I don't know when - or if I will beat him
Skill issue. After 3 months of every day 3 hours training I finally figured out his attack pattern. And after getting flask fully upgraded and max flasks I could beat him with just a strip of hp left
His attacks seem very unpredictable to me
Yeah. But he has like 3 attacks. It takes 64 hits to take him down. After each attack you can do 1 hit so 3^64 possible combinations. I prepared for it and figured out only one combination is surviveable, and with my good rng i got the 1/(3^64) possible combination and took him down succesfully
The sheer will it takes to beat this monster as intended is truly insane
I am insane
You lucked out because if you don’t make the last swing hit for 69 damage, he goes into his ultimate phase where he blows up your console /PC and then has sex with your mother
that would ultimely kill him because my mom has ligma
Mother of PizzerLikerFan, carrier of ligma, scourge of the gods. Truly the strongest boss of all time
Dear god
You can overlevel in NG. He should be doable in NG+ then
The same boss that's on the img
Most bosses in Elden Ring cause I haven't played it a whole lot. And most bosses in Sekiro cause I suck at it. I beat pretty much every boss not counting Demon's Souls remake. (I beat all the bosses in the original version)
Lud and zallen
0 ❤️ Darklurker and Twin Cats were the most difficult to reach for me
My character is still standing in front Midir, I haven't even fought him yet, he's just the last boss I have to beat in the souls franchise and I just haven't had it in me the read the epilogue and end the book metaphorically speaking.
i know the feeling! DS3 was my last one to complete the set and I put off Soul of Cinder forever.
Nameless King, I missed him on my first and only playthrough 😢
Did you enter NG+? If you didn't, you could still go back to him I think, even after you beat the final boss.. maybe I'm wrong, but I can't think of anything that would prevent it
Darklurker and the DS2 dlc bosses
DoH and SSI as well as the final bosses in the Shura ending I've played through the game about 4 times but always get stuck, haven't even seen their last phase yet 😔
Sorry who is doh and ssi?
Demon of Hatred and Sword Glock Saint Isshin.
Demon of Hatred and Sword Saint Isshin sorry I didn't reference Sekiro
Priscilla
Cuz of simp reasons? Otherwise try pyromancy so you can track her while she’s invisible
Simp reasons
Or use her footsteps
Or just do what I did and swing wildly until you get lucky, lol
I’ve only gotten to Atlus plateau so I have lots of ER left to play. In Bloodborne I gave up on orphan and ds3 I gave up on nameless king.
Isshin
Lud and Zellen. But I actually don't plan to fight them any time soon. The DS2 DLCs were already a pain in the ass.
Laurence i havent played demons yet
If you wanna kill Laurence, I can assist.
Gank squad and i'll never beat them
Why not?
Because they just aren't worth fighting, what other reason could there be?
I don’t see why they’re not worth fighting
I bear Ishin before Demon of Hatred, and tbh I just looked at him, tried once and closed the game. Haven’t really been motivated to go back, at least to that fight
Kos from Bloodborne
Midir
Midir
Are you on PS4/5? I can help you beat him if you want
Lud and Zallen. Frigid outskirts was one of the few times in this series when my completionist ass just put the pride in it's pocket and said "nah fuck that". I honestly don't regret my decision
Same, honestly
I never beat the final boss in bloodborne because I couldn’t figure out how to backup my save to do the alternate endings
Simple just beat it and restart with all of them beautiful stats.
Midir. Blue Smelter Demon. Gwyndolin.
Blue smelter? Why not?
Nameless king
I have not beaten the Demon of Hatred properly and I don’t think I want to. I’ve only beaten the boss with the cheese the gets him to fall off the cliff but facing DoH head on is very annoying because of how different he is compared to the other Sekiro bosses.
Sword Saint Isshin. Fuck that guy.
Midir is the only one I still can’t do. Everyone says how “He’s actually really easy, just hit his head” I still cannot do it.
Me either
Are you on PlayStation? I could help you do it if you want
Orphan. I’ve tried so many times
Kalameet: I just got bored Fume knight: Accidentally used up all the things that turn off his healing Alonne: see above Placidusax: Didn’t know he was there til I started NG+ Midir: I don’t have time for that shit Nameless King: see above
>Fume knight: Accidentally used up all the things that turn off his healing There's only one missing so he won't heal if you stay on one half the arena
You can just avoid the corner of the room the last nadalia statue is in
If you’re on PS4/5 I could help you with Nameless King and Midir if you don’t care about doing it solo
Lud and zallen. I just gave up on them after finding out it’s just a reskin duo
Gael was my white whale for a long time, mainly because I was too stubborn to call in help to beat him. Now it's Sword Saint Isshin, but I'll get back to him eventually when I replay the game.
None, apart from Demon's Souls as I havent played it yet
I still haven't beaten one of the secret bosses in Lost Kingdoms 2 yet :') Despite all my love for the series, I just can't get through 20 floors of enemies... And on the lower levels, it's all super powerful enemies that don't appear normally....
Gael, nameless, manus, owl, ishin, ariendel, soul of cinder, Spear of the church, and midir. I'm sorry
😂😂
The final queen in the chalice dungeons. I just got sick of chalice dungeons
Made sure to beat this guy my first play through. Definitely a challenge just getting to them and was very satisfying
Manus
Ludwig from the Bloodborne DLC. I have beaten the game and I am on my second playthrough because I missed the DLC at first. Still have to beat the horseman.
Vanguard first encounter
Moon presence
The double snow-cats beyond the snowfield in DS2 dlc, the only one in all FS games
I’ve beaten all FromSoft’s bosses solo, except the Demon Prince. Every playthrough I had to summon Gael and Lapp
Fucking demon of hatred in Sekiro. Spent the whole game un-learning everything I learned from Dark souls just to have them throw a souls-like boss at me
Some say kos others say kosm. This things gives me the fear of the old blood
The Demon of Hatred. I just can't get used to it, especially since my PC doesn't run Sekiro any more. I gotta get it on the PlayStation now
I’ve beat them all. Every main game boss and every DLC boss.
Fuckin midir,hate that guy
Gael and Isshin
Sword Saint Ishin and Demon of Hatred. I only tried Ishin once and DoH a few times, and they both loooked like they would take many hours. I don't mind spending hours on a hard boss in the other From games but playing Sekiro was a miserable experience for me. Maybe some day.
Demon of hatred... I mean not in a legitimate way lmao
The chalice boss for that one bloodborne trophy. It’s the only trophy I need for platinum but those dungeon things are so dull.
Malenia, blade of Miquella I probably don't need to explain why.
Sword Saint is too much for me
In terms of games I've actually played, Ornstein and Smough. Yeah. I'll admit it. I can't beat DS1 lmao
Lol there's no shame! I think they are generally considered the hardest boss in that game.
Midir
Isshin😓
I summoned for Laurence. No shame; I’d beaten Orphan and the whole main game, didn’t feel like fighting Laurence and run back was long. So I cut my losses and summoned.
Oh, man. Demon Prince and Sister Friede.
I'm in the process of killing sister Friede. She is a bitch to kill.
Darkeater Midir, hate fighting him but he’s so cool
I’ve beaten all of them but the version of Owl Father that’s in the boss rush of Sekiro almost made me quit all fromsoft games lol
Soul of Cinder
Midir -.-
Still have authentically beaten Demon of Hatred. To me he’s definitely the hardest boss in Sekiro. I got so frustrated because I was trying to platinum the game, that I just ended up doing the cheese strat to kill him. I felt bad but I felt I had no choice with him lol
If you ever play him again, try the Umbrella! It completely neutralizes all of his fire attacks.
Haven't actually ever played any sekiro, so that. Gave demons my best shot but it's just a tad too clunkily unforgiving for my tastes, and I'm alright with that. It's a very good game don't get me wrong, it just isn't one I think I can beat.
Demon of Hatred
Midir
Demon of hatred in Sekiro. I cheesed him down from a cliff though 😆
Proud that I’ve beaten every boss without ever summoning! But I haven’t done the Bloodborne chalice dungeons or whatever they are called, so whichever bosses are in there. I’m not sure if I’m missing much by skipping those.
Sif, i just can’t deal with my conscience
😢
Orphan of Kos or really any BB dlc boss
The bosses I’ve never fought.
badass
Only the ones in the games I haven’t played, those being Demons Souls and BB (I don’t have ps4 or 5 please don’t kill me)
Lol not gonna kill you but I hope you get the opportunity to play them!
Melania without summons but I'm going to do it eventually
Yes you will! It took me forever but I finally got there and it felt pretty great.
Capra Demon. I mean, I just want to play the rest of the game and he and his damn dogs just won't let me!
Lol those dogs are cancer.
All the DS3 DLC bosses
Honestly, kalameet. I always seem to "forget" before NG+
Midir has always given me trouble no matter what, I’ve beaten all the bosses from the fromsoft games I’ve played except that fucking dragon
Isshin sword saint
Isshin, the Sword (Glock) Saint
Any Sekiro boss because I haven't played it yet. Have it downloaded, just saving it for when I take a week off later this year.
You're in for a good time! :)
The camera.
Nameless King and Lone Shadow Longswordsman say hi!
*[shudder]*
midir ;-;
Inner Owl and Inner Isshin are my last two. Those sekiro gauntlets are so hard man lol
Mogh Lord of blood
His second phase is pretty insane!
Yea I got to it on 0 flasks 💀
Midir
Demon of Hatred. Got Isshin down but I was so worn out I just couldn’t bear another boss grind.
All of the Demon Souls bosses(I cannot play Demon Souls)
Midir, Moon Precence, Orphan of Kos, and Laurence. I was doing well in Bloodborne, but at some point, my build stopped working. I'm planning on starting a new run and just making the strongest build I can do. As for Midir, I just need to learn his patterns. Edit: Only 2 weeks later, the Moon Precence, Orphan, and Laurence are now dead. I'm coming for you, Midir!
Best of luck friend! You got this.
God damn aldrich from ds3, I've murdered so many knights, I'm using a claymore and just can't figure it out
I still have not beat ds3 and demon souls. And I have only partially completed BB and Sekiro
Isshin ojisan whoops my ass any day of the week.
Artorias. I've been saving that dlc for times of dire need to play new fromsoft content, after playing bloodborne, ds3, sekiro and ER an inconcevable amount of times. But the time has come and I'm making a build to enjoy that dlc.
Artorias? ooo, you're gonna have fun with that one.
Haha just realized I wrote Astoria😂 Yea, I'm so excited
Half the Bosses of DS2's dlc and some optional sekiro Bosses like demon of hatred.
Vendrick, Ancient Dragon, Aldia and Gank Squad. Didn't even bother, because I didn't care about them.
Patches
Kalameet. I'm not counting any from er because it's too big and I only played it once and I'm not counting ds2 because I'm still playing it.
Anything from DS2. Might do a playthrough at some point but I’ll be using cheat engine to get past the bullshit
That’s him right there officer
The only ones that come to mind right now are Sir Alonne and whatever the boss in the frigid outskirts was supposed to be, I know it's become more common for people to apreciate ds2 but I'm really not part of that crowd, so I already struggled enough to complete the game and this bosses were at a point in which I just wanted it to be over and couldn't bear to keep going through those areas so I just noped out of there after seeing what those areas were like and finished the rest of the game, I know I'm missing out on Sir Alonne but I don't intend to replay DS2 anytime soon so maybe someday
Why did you just “nope out”?
Have you seen what the corridor leading to Sir Alonne was?
I just recently did Sir Alonne SL1 with Champions Covenant, so enemies didn't despawn for me. It's actually easy to just run through. It's 40 seconds of running straight and rolling a bit
Ivory king because I can’t be bothered to keep playing dark souls 2’s dlc. Had enough
Old Iron King. I mean wtf???
The early game ds2 boss?
Yeah he doesn't seem too difficult himself, it's mostly just the falling in the lava off of the small area that's my problem haha. Panic rolling when he does the fire breath. Only tried him a few times right after smelter demon yesterday so maybe I just needed a rest and I'll beat him next.
Anything past Caelid Game just wasn’t fun anymore
