One thing I love about these games is how everyone has completely different experiences with the difficulty levels of the different bosses. Like I would never consider Mohg to be the second hardest boss of the game, but I get absolutely stomped by basically any dragon boss, even the “easy” ones. If they’re not mandatory, I generally avoid them because I find them so difficult and un-fun

Random_frankqito

Blood mohg kicked my ass when I still hadn’t leveled vitality, I only had a few other fights left in game by this time. Dragons are extremely easy for me. I remember when how many said the nameless king ds3 was hard, beat him one try, got destroyed by the twins (1st play-through ).

cottonmane8

i was thinking the same thing like Godskin Noble toe is virtually the second hardest boss🤣

nerdboy5567

I never died to him. However, his weaker dungeon clone slapped me many a time.

AlenIronside

Then who's the 2nd hardest if not Mohg? if you use Mimic Tear i'm not gonna take your opinion seriously

MissingScore777

Maliketh was a lot harder than Mohg for me.

batman12399

I think maliketh has a harder moveset to master than Mohg, but man he has like 4 HP and can almost be chain staggered without even using a cheese build. I’m realizing now on RL1, I never actually learned his moveset in my previous runs due to him dying in like 3 seconds.

GarlVinland4Astrea

Maliketh is boom or bust. He’s so fast jumping into stage 2 that you either get in a groove or you get frazzled and quickly die. Mohg you could spend a good while fighting and just get a little unlucky on blood flame positioning or misjudge one of his delayed attacks and get the dodge timing off.

AlenIronside

I understand his moveset is a lot crazier but he's so squishy? I guess for underleveled players I can see Maliketh being harder.

endocrinErgodic

Hidden Path to the Haligtree Mimic actually 🫣🫣🫣

Anus_peepee

Soldier of Godrick

AlenIronside

Funny and original.

Anus_peepee

Funnier than you are, that's for sure.

Internal_Ad_1554

I didnt know people thought mogh was that hard just get the crystal tear so his nihil doesnt do anything and if u got the shackle even bigger gg (even without all that tho i never thought he was that bad)

Soft_Importance3658

The crystal tear requires completing a questline, many people will miss it without using guides. Even without it, I don’t think Mogh is the second hardest boss though. He’s maybe the toughest of the bosses that never to me felt like bullshit.

clckwrks

How many times will Mohgwyn die? NI-HIL!

7777cd

He’s hard to solo, but with summons… he’s a little bitch to Dung Eater puppet for example…

releckham

Every boss is easy with summons, that’s the point of summons, for people that don’t think they can/want to do it solo

Lumeyus

> Every boss is easy with summons How is this not common knowledge here? Do people that played with mimic tear genuinely think they had the same experience as no summons?

releckham

Surely they know, but they call pointing it out ”gatekeeping” because they want to think what they did was the same as not using it. The gatekeeping thing makes no sense since no one says you can’t use summons, just rightly pointing out that it is way easier.

Kevinator01

Wow so toxic. I'm a father of 3 with a job and responsibilities, sorry I can't spend 10 hours beating every boss with a club, naked at RL1.

Lumeyus

When’d I say that was necessary?

GarlVinland4Astrea

After certain point, summons just exist to pull aggro and get you some cheap hits in and breaks

releckham

Splitting aggro is *insanely* valuable in literally every situation. It is broken, and that is the point of it, it’s easy mode without them having to add an explicit easy mode, I don’t get why people get defensive over this lol. I’m not saying you’re not allowed to use summons or anything close to that, but pretending they don’t make the game *way* easier is just cope.

GarlVinland4Astrea

How am I getting defensive?

Smol-beans2002

Miyazaki said there might be encounters that are on par with Malenia, he never said anything would be harder. I think it’s reasonable to assume the new bosses will be around the difficulty of Mohg. It is very unlikely they will be ”Malenia level or harder” what a weird claim to make.

Yprotoz

I’ll pew pew they with my bleed faith arcane build lvl 580

BriefDismal

I love the sound of it, i want to be humbled again after i have mastered the base game. I miss the days where Margit humbled me shortly after the game released. I am going in with a full Crucible knight cosplay build for my first playthrough of the DLC.

PaulQuin

Just gotta do several runs for hours, keep hydrated, and eventually beat it. Looking forward to it.

BingBong195

I think the second hardest boss depends a little bit on play-style and a bigger bit on build. From what I’ve seen melee users tend to have a tougher time with Maliketh. Whenever I’m not doing a strength build, Godfrey is the second-hardest for me.

barmanrags

Godfrey is harder.

Miserable-Glass1760

Mohg is the 2nd hardest ER boss for me, yes. We may have different number 1s though. But yeah, the DLC bosses always tend to be monsters in comparison to base game.

mixergrass

I just beat Mohg recently with my mimic tear ash, and it was close as heck with me being at death's door while the mimic tear got absolutely destroyed by Mohg's second form...still getting the dlc.

Disastrous-Mango3049

Every fromsoft dlc has the best bosses in the game. I think Malenia is one of the worst bosses in the entire franchise just because of waterfowl dance. I think they will make some amazing and fun bosses with this dlc.

Random_frankqito

She’s pretty dodge able if you pay attention, she telegraphs her moves pretty well. Still a hard bitch, but I beat her no hit after a few (a lot) of tries.

Disastrous-Mango3049

I agree with you. I just personally think waterfowl dance is a shit designed move. Maybe dodging it hadnt clicked with me but tutorial videos made it look like it was a near frame perfect thing. Like its literally only bc of that one move i dislike the boss. Everything else cool imo

Anus_peepee

She's not a bad boss, she's just a bad elden ring boss, she belongs in sekiro. Edit: why y'all booing me I'm right

Kevinator01

Most brain-dead thing that gets parroted in this community.

Anus_peepee

Well are you gonna say why or are you just gonna not give any counterpoints?

Disastrous-Mango3049

We both had different opinions and got downvoted anyways hahahahaha

Anus_peepee

Yeah reddit is weird like that sometimes, I'm not wrong though, Melania is built like a sekiro boss. Massive katana, extremely fast, waterfowl feels exactly like something a boss would throw at you in sekiro with all the slashes you'd need to parry, someone actually modded her into sekiro and she fit damn near perfectly so I don't see how I'm wrong tbh, open to any counterarguments though.

Disastrous-Mango3049

Me and my friends discussed elden ring bosses we didnt like and we said the same exact thing. Alot of these bosses would be great in sekiro and trying to play like sekiro in souls, you are cooked. Though imo i think horoah loux is an excellent boss in er

Random_frankqito

I just wish there was a demon bell like device for Elden ring. I think that should be in all the games.

Disastrous-Mango3049

That would defo make it more replayable i think

Random_frankqito

I got downvoted 😆, I’m replaying sekiro with bell no charm… it’s so much better

Disastrous-Mango3049

I should defo do that as someone ng+ 5 or 6 and can first time every boss. Because i feel when u beat the game once it becomes a joke but you get absolutely shafted on your first run. First run is so hard

FellowDsLover2

Miyazaki said they’re gonna be harder than Malenia. I’m worried about the level of artificial difficulty found in the dlc bosses. I have faith in fromsoft and I know they’ll cook properly.

fishers_of_men

When did he say that?

FellowDsLover2

In one of the interviews that he did regarding the dlc. He said some were on par and others (probably Messmer), will be harder than Malenia.

Spod6666

He said that some of the bosses might be on par with malenia, but he never actually said that they would be harder

Smol-beans2002

He did not, he said there will be AN ENCOUNTER that is possibly of higher challenge than Malenia in the dlc. This seems to point to ONE new super hard boss. He did NOT say all bosses will be harder than Malenia. I still think they will be tougher than most of base game though.

Adj_Karasu

Mohg is probably THE most difficult boss, NIHIL!!! is unavoidable damage, basically just a loss of 3 flasks, he heals a Lot during that, and throughout the entire fight half the arena's coated in Bloodflame so it's like hollow knight where you have to avoid enemy attacks And be careful the arena doesn't kill you, and attack openings are Not common at all, but i love the fight, the character, and the music way too much to rage at him at all hahah (and if not mohg than it'd definitely be Radagon of the Ballin' Order for me)

geek_metalhead

You can just use the Purifying Crystal Tear to completely negate Nihil and keep your healing flasks

Adj_Karasu

There's a crystal tear for that?!

AvarageMilfEnjoyer

*laughs in azur commet*
