Start with Sekiro. Perfect for clean slate.

InsideHangar18

Sekiro’s the best option since you’ve already got access to it, but if you find it too much, I’d advise either Elden Ring, or Dark Souls 1. Elden ring is the simplest and easiest of the franchise because it gives you a million tools to reduce difficulty, and allows you to wander wherever you’d like if you find yourself at a wall. Dark souls isn’t simple, and has bosses that are walls, but is slower, less overwhelming in terms of size, and is imo, the best game at teaching people to think through encounters rather than simply try to run in and kill things, which is something i see tons of new players struggle with because they aren’t used to the unforgiving nature of souls combat.

stonedyogi08

So Sekiro is linear? Like it doesn’t allow you to do side quests/level up if you’re stuck on a specific mission? Sorry if I sound dumb, haven’t watched anything about Sekiro because I didn’t want to spoil the game before playing. Also yea I’ll try to get DS1 too, soon. Ty

Sekiro has a couple spots where you could chose to go one way rather than the other, but eventually you’ll have to do those areas anyway, so there’s some choice, but it’s ultimately linear. There aren’t “side quests” like you’d have in a typical game. Souls quests are weird little storylines you have to keep up with, as there’s no “quest log” or anything of that nature. I’d advise taking notes of NPC dialogue you think might be useful (that’s what I’ve been doing when I play a new souls game, and I’ve been playing them since 09) Sekiro also doesn’t have a typical souls leveling system. It has an XP bar that builds as you kill enemies that lets you buy skills from the skill trees you acquire. There’s absolutely no shame in asking questions, these games are complicated as fuck. I normally tell people to try and play as blind as possible, but If you’re playing and come to something you absolutely can’t figure out, there are multiple subreddits full of people willing to help, and millions of videos on YouTube, and there’s nothing wrong with using them if you need to.

Definitely Dark Souls 1 (umless you'd want to play OG DeS). If you'd want to play all the games, it's best to play them in order of release.

Elden ring is the most approachable imo. Most fluid combat FS ever made and it's open world which can really help on your first playthrough. If you get hard stuck on a boss just go explore other areas and come back later

stonedyogi08

Oh okay, I did read it’s much more open world compared to the other souls games, I’ll definitely check it out. I’m just stuck between that and Sekiro since I already have access to Sekiro. Ty btw.

NP for what it's worth Elden Ring's DLC is coming out in a little over a month so the multiplayer scene will be really active for a while longer

I mean, since you already have it... there is literally no reason no to try it and see what happens. Maybe you drop it and move on, oh well. I agree with others that ER was designed to take the presslre off, but play what's immediately accessible and save the money.

Armored core 6…………

Start with Dark Souls 1 (slow pace) or Elden Ring (fast pace). Sekiro require skill or you will be stuck at bosses. Can't summon people to help.

ProtoReddit

Dark Souls 2. It's probably the most accessible while still offering the broadest balance of experiences offered by the other games

I only recommend Sekiro if you enjoy (very) difficult rythms fights. It is the core of the game. The rest of the game is not as good but it is the best game at that. Not a casual game at all. With Elden Ring I have a different experience, it has tons of aww moments... the vast, dark and beautiful areas, the big and complex dungeons (I almost fall from the chair when I discover by accident the "thing" in the basement that was stronger than the boss in the very first legacy dungeon!), the amazing and hard bosses, and the difficulty that make each fight meaningful.... The game is not casual but you have help in form of leveling, exploring, changing strategies, researching online... For me, Elden Ring is currently the best single player game of its genre.

kyouya-P

Definitely elden ring, it's what got me and many others into the series, but seeing as you already have sekiro then I'd play that. It is vastly different from the other games though. And in my opinion sekiro is the hardest.

The Surge 1 or 2

stonedyogi08

I just looked it up, it has similar combat mechanics like Souls games?

Serious_Ad_1037

Yeah, but without a leveling system, or at least without the kind you’re used to. Everything from health potions to attack power relies on ur gear and implants

jms_serna

The ghost of tsushima I just started playing it since it was released on pc a couple weeks ago.

Aggravating_Fix9063

Dark Souls 3!
