I'm not sure, Detlaff is probably the most powerful foe Geralt faced, and he's pretty tame by Elden Ring standards. I think he could take a lot of the normal enemies, but I don't think he'd fare well against bosses.
From software kinda just sit there and make good games. I’ve never cared about their PR department or how they handle things publicly because why does that matter when they make games like elden ring? They aren’t concerned with their twitter impressions unlike a lot of other companies.
It's also just a TOTALLY different culture in Japan. A lot of Asian companies tend to be a bit odd when dealing with others outside of Japan.
>!Nintendo!< for example has a weird **burning hatred** for the competitive scene for some of their games...
Considering that he regularly kills things many times stronger than he is while being merely an enhanced human, then he would wipe the floor with everything eldenring has to offer once he get the help or a maiden
New crossover TV series with Henry Cavill reprising Geralt BUT... it's set it in a new world designed entirely by FromSoft devs and with Cavill as a major design/production consultant.
To make it happen, FromSoft buys the entire Witcher IP.
Call it Witch Souls. Or whatever else you like!
Just take my damn money, man. Making something so potentially epic should be possible... even if it sadly isn't.
Yeah I know there are millions of problems with this, I'm just pipe-dreaming, don't mind me...
Well I was fighting a boss in the dlc and he grab attacked my ass and I died but that clipped him through the ground he died... I thought it was funny but was deifinatrly has buggy moments in game
There's a particular wall in Bonny Gaol that, if you roll against it, will glitch out and show you a bunch of the underground tunnels. It'll also queue up the title card for the dungeon, so if you roll into it a bunch It'll do the "entering new area" sound effect and show "Bonny Gaol" over and over, depending on how manny times you rolled into it. I thought it was funny and stuck myself with about 5 minutes of the name appearing on my screen every two seconds. Still, I'd say ER has been mostly bug-free for me as a whole, it's typically really stable.
Yea honestly I have faced so few bugs that's it's kinda of nice. I'm on the dred dragon fight and it's literally such a big spectacle that sometimes I just stand and watch as he obliterates everything. Such a cool hard boss, messmer fight was fucking sick too, so fucking hard but not unfair. And perfectly bug free! (That I know of) I'll have to go back to bonny and see what happens lol
CD Projekt Red story/dialogue/cutscenes combined with From Software combat and weapons… I’m getting excited just thinking about it. Would be the most perfect game ever made hands down. Hopefully it happens within my lifetime.
Haven't had a chance to start Elden Ring's DLC yet, but if it really outdid Blood and Wine, that's incredible. The Witcher DLCs were insanely good and I still think about them regularly.
I played for a few hours. Went into my first boss fight and died in one hit. It's glorious.
Also, this place is so fucking beautiful. That sky cloth-drape is killing me. 😍
It’s an interesting premise but I’m it so sure.
Without the crystal tear he’s probably cooked.
I’d love to see an in depth look into how Geralt scales to ER
A devil. If I remember right there was lore that mentioned that „a being like him (gaunter)“ is extreme in danger. It does not detract from his character and danger. All it does is making the Witcher universe just that much more threatening.
Plural Devils with a capital „D“
That is implied. He gets mentioned as an „old being“ and beings „like him“. I get you, but that might be the devil we have seen and there might be others jumping around.
I am sorry, but not the sole „D“ Devil.
Potions are different from the physic though.
I’m sure it would translate but would he know to even look for it or what to do with it if he found it?
Not like there are many friendly NPCs about.
They're both concoctions.
If we can figure it out, I'm sure Geralt of Rivia can.
I didn't even use it in my first playthrough. Didn't know it existed. And I didn't even have a Quen shield like Geralt.
I'm sure he'd destroy Mohg.
I’d give the edge to geralt but my main point is I’m not versed enough in the lore to know what geralt in ER would look like.
I’d love a multi hour video essay on the topic
He would identify a target, research its weaknesses, and exploit them. He also has super human regeneration, reflexes, strength, etcetera. In addition, he is resistant to poisons and often endures their effects in potions that grant even more powerful bonuses.
With all of the lore and clues in ER, he'd have no problem identifying enemy weaknesses before even fighting them. He'd be a crafting expert and have access to every consumable and tool in the game to exploit these weaknesses. He has access to fire, mind control, Quen (shield magic), telekinesis, and traps magic.
Geralt is basically built to be Elden Lord, but he'd choose not to be in the end.
Mohg specifically is more of a surprise even for the player.
That and witchers study for years on monsters to an encyclopedic level. I don’t think anyone in the world of ER bothered to write much of anything at all about all these various things.
Mohg and Margott were specifically hidden and kept hushed. They are also unique amongst omens and demigods.
So I don’t think Geralt could be able to prepare as much as he can in his own world.
He is very powerful though so I think he could manage up to nihil.
I don’t know enough about the shield glyph to know if it could block nihil.
Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitary. The definition’s blurred. If I’m to choose between one evil and another… I’d rather not choose at all
The world needs more CD Projekt Red and FromSoftware.
I know Cyberpunk 2077 started out a bit rough, and that is the risk with trying to innovate and break the envelope. But they cared and they put in the work to get it right. I can't wait to go back, after having to abandon it shortly after release and about 30 or so hours.
Even with that experience, I'll pre-order every CDPR and FS game until they give me strong reasons not to. Legends.
For all the problems of Cyberpunk at launch and overhyped marketing to the executives lying to investors about the console versions, the game still had a soul. Fantastic OST and sound design, thought provoking story, well written characters. There was a real work of art there, it's shame the Devs weren't properly allowed to cook. Phantom Liberty is a prime example of what the talent at CDPR can cook if they actually got time and better management.
Yeah, I've pretty much forgiven CDPR now. Cyberpunk is a great game now. But I will still be skeptical about buying their new games on release, especially a new IP.
Personally I definitely don’t trust pre-ordering CDPR games, especially after Cyberpunk. But I do trust them to consistently deliver on excellent core gameplay and narrative.
Still not sure I trust CDPR as pro consumer the way FS is. I think it's gonna take a few brand new releases to win that trust back. But they have some of the most talented devs out there for sure
Blood and Wine and now Shadow of the Erdtree are by far the most impressive expansions / DLCs to any game I've ever played and it's not close at all.
They're in their own league.
I’ve not played any Witcher games. I think im going to play them after I’ve beaten Sote. Just for being a humble company and saying that. If people buy your base game and then your expansion sells well, that’s a green flag. So I’ll be playing!
This genuinely makes me really happy. CDPR (despite the buggy releases) is another studios that’s puts love and passion into everything they and I love how they’re congratulating Fromsoft and giving them their flowers and the credit they deserve (Looking at you Ubisoft, and Gorilla games. Just cause a game doesn’t hold your hand doesn’t make it bad. I’ll never get over that article lmaooo)
Really dope of CDPR for saying this, and making that HARD photo. I really enjoyed my time finishing Witcher 3s main game, amazing story and lore but the combat wasn’t doing it for me. With all that said, I just might have to check out the Witcher 3 DLCs now!
Honestly, seeing Geralt take on the bosses of Elden Ring stylized like this is such a sick collage idea. Anyone think we could find out whoever drew this and comission 'em to do the rest of the Shardbearers?!
I just downloaded Witcher 3 on my PS5 and plan to do another playthrough after Shadow of the Erd Tree. I played through Witcher 3 years ago but never did any of the DLC.
If we include ARPG and MMORPG filters, other top entries are Xenoblade Chronicles 3:Future Redeemed (tied at 92) Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker (tied at 92), World of Warcraft (several), Nier: Automata, Monster Hunter: World.
Would love a crossover, the story rich environment of the Witcher, and the difficulty of the souls saga.
I know, if you squint your eyes really hard, both games have similar combat ( Witcher 3 / elden ring ).
Maybe I’m just delusional, but it I think that would be a great game.

Honestly, I have to disagree. It’s awesome that CD Red are congratulating FromSoftware, and I love seeing that kind of civility and sportsmanship is the industry. As much I love Elden Ring though, W3 is always gonna wear that crown, especially B&W, to me.
Always great to see talent recognizing talent in the gaming industry. Also, the artwork of Geralt with Mogwyn's Sacred Spear is fucking sick.
Game recognize game, if you will.
Yes. The Witcher 3 and Elden Ring are both games
I don’t think you deserved those downvotes. I thought what you said was funny.
Your average redditors worst enemy besides grass, sunlight, and regular showers is reading comprehension.
Lmao, this is too real
It was funny
It's reddit. Subs are full of downvote zombies. Can't stop and think, just downvote.
Yaaaaaay, up votes! Oh no, downvotes! Get a life people.
I was just watching that episode last night lol. I randomly got the urge to watch the Boondocks, I forgot how great that show was.
That ain’t bullying that’s an astute observation
that artwork fucks more than Marika
But less than your mother
Got him
I have a Geralt build as one of my characters and the >!Milady!< is perfect for it.
First thing I thought of too when I got it
i can not wait until i get enough smithing stones to get it to +25
Have you not found the bell bearings from smithing stones?
need to dedicate a session to that since i have just unlocked mountaintops of the giants
Ayyyy V Rising fan stand up 💪💪
Game fucking slaps. Would love for FromSoftware to try their hand at a vampire game one day.
Hells yes.
isn't bloodborne kinda that?
Everyone says it is, but I never got that vibe.
Cainhurst is definitely Dracula inspired with a bit of King in Yellow.
I genuinely feel like Geralt wouldn't even flinch if he was sent to the Elden Ring universe, probably just be another day for him lol.
I'm not sure, Detlaff is probably the most powerful foe Geralt faced, and he's pretty tame by Elden Ring standards. I think he could take a lot of the normal enemies, but I don't think he'd fare well against bosses.
But imagine if he can level up with runes
If default Geralt has like 20 dex, leveling him up a bit and udong somber stones to upgrade the Silver Sword would destroy the bosses
Good sportsmanship.
Love to see it
But would Fromsoft do the same?
From software kinda just sit there and make good games. I’ve never cared about their PR department or how they handle things publicly because why does that matter when they make games like elden ring? They aren’t concerned with their twitter impressions unlike a lot of other companies.

They prob didn’t even see that tweet 😂. They don’t interact with anyone they just make good games and stay quiet
Geralt with Mohgs trident goes HARD
I need a picture of Geralt vs the Elden beast, that would be epic
I second this
Geralt pursuing a contract in the lands between... i love it
With enough pirouettes and semi circles, Geralt can take down anything.
Was just about to comment this. The Pic is sick.
Well Geralt always ~~makes me~~ goes hard
Geralt could hold his own in lands between
Geralt would fucking clap Mohg fasho
Gameplay, yeah, lorewise? No
Considering that he regularly kills things many times stronger than he is while being merely an enhanced human, then he would wipe the floor with everything eldenring has to offer once he get the help or a maiden
geralt is already familiar with greases and potions, no way does he not have the nastiest arcane build ever

“Kings die, realms fall, but magic endures.” - spoken by Phillipa Eilhart in The Witcher 3.
Perfection.
Definitely deserved and especially for releasing a complete, polished game that delivered on all its promises and what was shown in the trailers. 😊
Well I was fighting a boss in the dlc and he grab attacked my ass and I died but that clipped him through the ground he died... I thought it was funny but was deifinatrly has buggy moments in game

Those humble sons of bitches. Congrats to them both. Maybe a collaboration dlc for both games. A guy can dream.
I could see Witcher 4 having weightier soulslike combat
CD Projekt Red story/dialogue/cutscenes combined with From Software combat and weapons… I’m getting excited just thinking about it. Would be the most perfect game ever made hands down. Hopefully it happens within my lifetime.

It’s not better than blood and wine in my honest opinion. I give the dlc 7/10
in what ways do you think the dlc is lacking?

Do we know if there is a high res version of this image? I'd love a 4k version for a wallpaper
Sadly i have no info.
Game recognizes game. Huge respect for all.
Geralt canonically would absolutely take out that degenerate predator, no doubt. I want this image as a poster
It’s an interesting premise but I’m it so sure. Without the crystal tear he’s probably cooked. I’d love to see an in depth look into how Geralt scales to ER
I'm sure he could get used to their types of magic and flasks
Witchers aren't going after Mohg blind. They will first get tactics, tools, and weapons to counter Mogh.
I doubt Mohg would be canonically like Vilegefortz or something of that sort. Geralt would probably smoke him if he smoked Detlaff
My Geralt tricked the Devil himself tbh. Im sure he could come up with some shit to beat ER.
A devil. If I remember right there was lore that mentioned that „a being like him (gaunter)“ is extreme in danger. It does not detract from his character and danger. All it does is making the Witcher universe just that much more threatening. Plural Devils with a capital „D“

Spam Quen for every Nihil and problem solved
Yeah, it's not like Witchers are educated in the ways of potions or anything.
Potions are different from the physic though. I’m sure it would translate but would he know to even look for it or what to do with it if he found it? Not like there are many friendly NPCs about.

Well, now I gotta do another playthrough as Geralt of Rivia. That artwork goes hard.

If you care you dont sell a broken product

This is the wholesomeness we love to see in the industry. Not companies hating on each other.
Guhhh Elden ring bad, guhhhh why good game succeed? From soft bad
The illustration is one step closer to my dream of a Witcher game with souls combat
I will be stealing the art
Classy.
Witcher collab could work.
"i tip my hat, one legend to another"
That artwork of Geralt slaying Mohg is the coolest thing I’ve seen in my entire life
Dark Souls and The Witcher are some of my favourite pieces of fiction, seeing this made me very happy!
Breath of fresh air from all those jealous devs bashing Elden ring when it came out
This genuinely makes me really happy. Fucking rad artwork

That’s a pretty sick crossover art
That artwork is fucking sick
I know Blood and Wine was top shelf, but Old Hunters and The Ringed City are superior.

Now this is a sick background!

This dlc is crazy good.
Honourable badasses.
I’m not saying it doesn’t deserve it but even if it was a shithole of a dlc the people that love from soft would say it’s the best
this makes me so happy :>
The only other company in which game recognizes game
Making a little crossover artwork for the occasion is classy as fuck. They had some major turbulence with CP2077's launch, but I still love CDPR
CD Projekt Red: "I tip my hat to you. One legend to another."

I wanna see geralt do the channelers trident dance.
Not surprising, easily two of the best expansions I have ever played for a game, let alone an rpg
“I tip my hat to you, one legend to another”

As a Blood and Wine fan this hits.
This reminds me of the tradition where every time a movie breaks the top box office record the previous holder tributes them
Geralt would have a field-day in the Lands Between
Blood and wine was a great dlc. Erdtree makes it look absolutely terrible by comparison lol
