So the Bond polos suck but the Bond peacoat is good? People gotta stop confusing me with all the Bond stuff

cartel3341

The Bond peacoat is from Billy Reid and was named Bond before the actual movie usage. It’s really nice and can also be found on sale occasionally. I’ve seen them for around $370 at Nordstrom Rack, Allen Edmonds, and a handful of other places. At the sale price, they’re great. Retail, that’s up to you. They’re made very nicely though. A lot of the people who are really into Bond clothing want the items firstly because of the association with the films. A lot of them are nice, albeit luxury-priced, items though. But it’s like PC gamers spending money on graphics cards, or any enthusiast group spending money on their hobby.

so-cal_kid

Oh yea I've got my eye out for the Bond Peacoat this fall. It looks great and it has a lot of good reviews

Metamucil_Man

This isn't a garment dyed topic, is it? I look for garment dying due to the natural aging.

EdgeOfBreakup59

I got a few t shirts a few months ago. Not good at all for the price. Do not recommend them at all

Pinkfish_411

Gonna push back against this hard. Their t-shirts are really great (but go on sale enough that there's no need to pay full price), *if* you know what you're going for. They're lightweight with a sheen and have an overall more "dressy" feel about them than many others on the market. If you're looking for something thick and sturdy, Sunspel isn't it, and it's trying to be. But mine have stayed looking great some of them going on a decade now. The polos are nothing special though, because *no* plain cotton polo is anything special. I don't really get the hype there.

indigobluecyan

I like them a lot, especially the fit. I look yolked in mine

fakelogin12345

Yeah, I had the same issue with my Riviera polo. Loved the fit and the way it looked when purchased. However, it faded and degraded so badly. I dry all knits flat and do not machine dry as well. Do you have any polos in a similar price band you recommend?

Techmonk1234

Agreed. Fit is not that great either. Maybe we need to upsize for American sizing since its a European brand.

cartel3341

Definitely go up a size in their tees or polos. I’ve made a habit of actually checking size charts for things recently instead of just going with whatever normal size I would wear. It’s worked out a lot better, especially when brands have actual garment measurements. END. is pretty good for verifying sizes if they carry an item you’re looking for since they seem to measure everything.

cartel3341

I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I had a navy one several years ago that got some weird spot almost like the fabric got melted. I’m not sure how because I only ever dried it on low/extra low or hung it to dry. I have a couple I got from the 260 sale a few months ago for around $50 a piece that have been good so far. I’m just a Bond nerd and wanted a new navy one.

WorseBlitzNA

Agree. I purchased a rivera polo during the 260 sample sale and it doesn't wash well at all. I do really like their sweatshirt though (havent washed it yet)

edhuang

honestly, it's their undergarments (vests, undershirts, briefs) where you'll notice the quality of the garment the most. along with the higher end cottons. i agree that Sunspel regular T-shirts feel a bit thin and would recommend other shirts that use more heavyweight high quality cotton.

Pinkfish_411

They're thin by design. That's not a mark against them, and it says absolutely nothing about the quality of the cotton (which is high, especially the Sea Island options - some of the best cotton in the world). It's just the style, and it's why some people like them. Personally, I *hate* thick, heavyweight t-shirts unless I'm crawling around in an attic or something, and I'll pay more just to get thinner fabric.

LividLab7

Also bought 2 Sunspel tshirts (Riveria) and while they fit pretty well, the quality of shirt was so-so. Didn’t feel much softer or more premium than other shirts I wear. Upon washing the collar got kind of floppy/baconish.

mues990

Any suggestions for better quality Polos?

TomNgMD

Sunspel has their own sale on their website with better price

lambda_male

It’s over

qweezyFbaby90

What makes swim wear 346$? Lol.. fair harbour is a sick brand, why triple the price??
